I never write reviews, but will make an exception here because Tanner literally saved by $2000k+ gaming laptop from being scrapped. TLDR: Tanner was able to diagnose the problem and fix it in minutes after another tech shop told me that the laptop was totaled. After my backpack fell out of my car with the laptop inside, it no longer powered on. No lights, no error message, no response at all when I pressed the power button. I took it to another computer repair shop in town and after opening the back panel, cleaning some components, and confirming that the power cord was working, the tech told me that the only possible problem was that the motherboard was fried from overheating and that I was left with a very fancy-looking paperweight. He said that after 25 years of experience as a tech, he could be fairly positive that the problem was not something easily fixed and while I could get a second opinion, his professional opinion was that I should try to salvage the hard drive and maybe sell the rest for parts.I was so demoralized I almost told him to just strip it and save the hard drive, but I decided to try Tech Hound for a second opinion. Tanner was very professional, listened to my story, and immediately noticed something that the other tech did not: the light next to the power input turns on when it is plugged in. I was still not very hopeful but Tanner said he would call me in the next few days with a diagnosis. Two days later, Tanner called and said it was a simple fix, just a component bent out of place that disconnected the power button, and would only charge the $50 flat fee when the diagnostic procedure itself fixes the problem. Considering that I was already shopping for a new $2000 rig, to me this was an absolute miracle. Also, the dogs are very cute. 10/10 would recommend visiting.
Whether in person or over the phone, Tanners level of customer service far exceeds the area! I highly recommend using him to fullfill and computer needs and questions. *also has best playlist in lobby* 10 Stars!!
I wish i could give this business more stars and support. very professional and helpful beyond just repairshelped me revive my bricked motherboard in less than 12 hours
If you have having technical issues, these are the people you need to talk to! Tanner was easy to work with and fast and efficient. He had me up in running in just 1 business day! Very affordable as well. Would highly recommend them. :)
The power outage in Joplin messed my internet up, I called up Tech Hound at around 11:30 or so and Tanner fixed it in no time. I needed an extender set up and he told me all the options beforehand to get internet back in my apartment. He was fast, extremely personable and well-mannered, and more importantly knew his craft. Installed everything quick, we talked about dogs briefly, I paid him, then he fixed my computer sound (which blew me away). I will only call him for my tech needs in the future and I would recommend this guy to everyone. I will also try to use his store for my PC needs.
I can only echo the other positive reviews for Tech Hound. Tanner really knows what hes doing and works efficiently and honestly. His interest lies in making sure your computer/smartphone is working the way it is meant to. He wont talk you into a bunch of upgrades that you dont need.
One of the best computer technicians Ive ever met. Honest, hardworking, and reliable. Though hes new to the area, no doubt hell get a lot of work soon, so dont wait to make your appointment. Call today!
Tanner knows his craft. If you need local service he is one of the people I recommend. BTW the basset hounds in his office only help with the experience.
Tanner does great work. He always takes care of my computer needs; at least the ones I cannot figure out. Im currently looking to have him install some security cameras also. Hes my first and only recommendation to family and friends.
Hes a great guy and he will get your computer running great@
I may be a bit biased, but Tech Hound is the premier computer repair store in the Tri-State area. I cannot recommend them enough.
I took my Mac book in to see Mr. Tipping about a year ago because someone referred me to him. My Mac was being weird...I dont know. I literally hate computer stuff and have no idea what Im doing ever. Mr. Tipping could have lied and made the problem way bigger (and more expensive) to fix, but instead he was HONEST!!! NOT only did he adjust a few settings in a couple of clicks, he walked me through what the problem was and how to fix it on my own at home! He is the best--most professional, fastest computer tech guy Ive ever used. Im never bringing my tech stuff to anyone else... Im so happy to see that hes expanded his small operation into a business. He deserves it.
Dogs 😊
