Where do I start !!! I’ve known Chris many years !! As a musician he knew me before all that and he was in the bank business !! I gotta say this music store is one of the best in the country !! That’s not just because my good life long Buddie owns it because he will tell ya I don’t really sugar coat it !! If it’s a instrument or anything of the sort GO NO Further !!! Great selection of guitars, but me and my friend were in there one day around 5:30 looking. Sign on the door says closes at 6:00. We were making our second round of the store around 5:50 and suddenly the lights go off while we were looking. I had a couple things I was thinking of buying but we decided just to go on to guitar center :/

This place has like a million guitars! It’s a little bit ridiculous. Have Chris walk you around the store and see what I mean. Honeycutt typically has most instruments, equipment, parts in static or can have it shipped in within a few days. The service is outstanding. Highly recommend.

As a traveling guitar nut, I attest that Honeycutt Music has the best selection of acoustic guitars Ive seen. Im sold on the Laravees they had, but they also have an excellent selection of value guitars.

Complete disregard for customer service. I wouldnt reccomend doing any buisness with them for anything not in the store. ordered an add on tom for my drum set Jan 18th with the promise of receiving in 7-10 days.called jan.28 no returned call, jan 29th and I was assured it would be in no later than march 10th,called Feb. 4th and 7th for updates,never returned my calls, today I went to get my $ back because I still havent recieved it. they dont give money back...per their sharpie handwritten sign.still no date when I will get it... owner was very unprofessional in the way that he acted like I was out of line for being upset,rather than speaking with me directly he gets his crush rep. on speaker phone, lays the phone on the counter and walks off. mind you, had there been ANY communication at all or a single returned call i would be understanding..sadly that was not the case3/12- no calls or updates3/13-no calls or updates3/14- I called to get an update..still no one knows when it will be in......3/15- no calls or updates3/16- no calls or updates3/17- no calls or updates3/18- no calls or updates3/19- me Honeycutt called me himself to tell me I can have my money back and tomld me me and my wife are both banned from his store for life because she put in a bad rating for him on Google...

Great selection, always have the strings I need, open later than other shops which makes it convenient for the evening guitar player. Nice quality instruments, let me play around with a few during my visit which so nice. The shop is owned by genuine, knowledgeable, and kind people. Would shop again soon! I took in a Little Martin that I picked up for a travel guitar. It had a minor neck issue, action was too high and the intonation was way off and it just needed some TLC. I dropped it off at Honeycutt and asked them to go through it and address any issues. Less than 24 hours later I had it back in hand. All issues were addressed, sound was spot on and it looked/ sounded awesome. Prices were great, staff was friendly, turnaround was quick, their work was exceptional. Dont hesitate to let them handle your setups or repairs.

I’ve made multiple purchases here, and these guys saved me from buying a falsely labeled guitar from Guitar Center. They have done some small adjustments and repairs for no charge because they take care of their customers. They make it easy to buy local.Guitar Center has now moved to Johnson City and I can’t urge you enough to drive a couple of miles over and buy from these guys. If they don’t have it, they’ll get it!

The man was so nice l and helpful. He for sure helped me pick the perfect guitar. The store is amazing, he got me a discount and even threw in a free pick and sticker. Absolutely satisfied.

I dropped $1400 on a brand new acoustic guitar and the same day put a $100 deposit on another to pick up the following week. I had an unexpected life even occur and called and told him I wouldn’t be able to get that second guitar. He said “ I can’t give you cash back ( I paid with a debit card) but I’ll do store credit, I shouldn’t really do that though”. So he basically stole $100.00 from me . Luckily guitar center and reverb both have the same Gibson Les Paul traditional he’s sell in for the same price and cheaper..

Very strange visit... i have been looking into larrivee guitars so i called there and a man told me they had 1200 guitars and to come in and play some larrivees. So a few days later i did and they didnt have one larrivee in the store and said they where located in the next building but told me to just look online at what they offer. So i ended up buying some picks while doing so the guy tried to charge me a debit card fee. When i made a face of disbelief the other said ah dont charge him the fee. Seems like a shady place to me.

Ive known Chris since he started Honeycutt music in the Johnson City Mall years and years ago I wouldnt trust anyone else but Im buying any musical equipment in the Tri-Cities area

Prices comparable to online for great gear that you actually get to try before you buy! Twice now they had exactly what I was looking for right in the store. The folks there are very helpful and gave me a fair trade for my old bass.

If I could put negative stars I would. Absolutely no customer service. Ordered something back in January still havent received it and was promised item within 7 to 10 days. Asked for a refund and they absolutely will not give ur money back.

Great customer service and selection. I had my Dean acoustic bass guitar repaired there. Danny took extra time and care to make sure that it was working like new. I also purchased a new Cajone for my son there and he loves it. They have all kinds of equipment to choose from.

Good selection, great customer service from the gentleman who helps Chris out but however the owner himself comes off as someone I don’t like to support with my money and business. I’d rather throw my money to morells in Bristol.

Beginner guitarist, bought a guitar with a floyd rose not realizing what a pain they are to tune. Called around to several other places and they said it would take them awhile (week to a month).The gentleman at Honeycutt had it done in less than an hour the day of. Very grateful.

Very helpful & Cool but over priced. My own doing. Did not research the product I was buying and over paid for it compared to others and internet. A product that was $200 on the internet cost me $300. I understand local places need to make money, but $100 more was excessive.

I recently went shopping for an electric double bass and had very specific needs. In fact, there were only three models made by two manufacturers that had the combination of features that I required. I prefer to deal local when I can, rather than spend money on Amazon. I spent several days seeing whether anyone would be willing to order what I needed. Many of the music stores between here and Knoxville were not willing to even see if they could order what I needed. I am not going to name them and shame them, but, if any of them are reading this and remember me in their stores or calling and asking about it, you could have had a very easy sale if you had seemed the least bit interested.Being a specialty instrument and relatively rare, I expected I might have difficulty, but these other stores did not even act interested in taking the large pile of cash out of my hand. What I needed was manufactured by a large, common instrument maker and is not difficult to get.I decided to try Honeycutt because of a good speaker purchase many years ago. He broke apart a discounted set for me to purchase a single Peavey 18, even though it was part of a promotional set. I have not been in the store since they had moved from the mall, but they treated me like I was one of their best customers instead of someone that never came in. They spent an hour dealing with two distributors on a Friday night, beat the best online price by about $150.00, and, when it came in, one of the guys offered to drop it by at my house in Kingsport when he got off of work if I couldnt fit it in my car.They have made a customer for life.As to previous reviews talking about being out for lunch, the first time I stopped by on the day before they had a sign up, and were back when it said they would be. Sometimes small business owners need to go to the bank or to get something. They dont always have an available employee to cover for them.

The staff here is super helpful and friendly which is why I shop here. As a small business owner myself, I am always shocked that people think theyve been swindled by a shop owner because they can find something cheaper on the internet. News flash - you can get anything cheaper on the internet! They have minimal overhead and sometimes not subject to the same taxes, employee benefits, and operational costs a small business sustains. I guarantee you, however, the supplier on the internet is not taking the time to talk to you and answer all of your questions and direct you to the right instrument for you. This is why I support this and other local businesses. Dont chat up the employees at a local business to get all of your information and then complain you found it cheaper on the internet.

I am super satisfied with the setup on my Les Paul that Danny did for me. Not only did He do it asap when i needed it super fast .. He did an awesome job, I think it plays and sounds better than ever, I dont want to put it down ... My plan is to have my SG in his hands soon .. Thanks again

I have honestly found my home at this store. the owner is an awesome individual and his staff very knowledgeable about most music equipment. they repaired my marshall amp. And It sounds better than it did when i bought it. As other have said, the place is usually closed at different times throughout the day with nobody there. There is usually a note on the door that says gone to lunch

So to day i needed a violin shoulder rest gone to the store the times are 10 am to 7 pm and i was there at 2 pm and the store was closed there was nothing saying they gone to lunch or anything i looked in the window and lights was off why have a store if your not going to run it.

Everytime i show up the place is closed. And he lies on how soon hell be back. Steve
