Oh my gosh, this place is one of my favorite local dessert shops! Sams stuff is so unique, and I have seen or tasted anything quite like it anywhere else.The snowballs are a combination of shaved ice and ice cream. Im not the biggest fan of shaved ice by itself, but the snowballs are amazing. The unicorn and the Chantilly cake are favorites of mine, and my husband loves anything chocolate and peanut butter.My favorite thing though? The bubble waffles. Big honking waffle fresh off the waffle maker, with your choice of ice cream and 3 toppings. Ive gone death by chocolate (chocolate ice cream, brownies, fudge, chocolate sauce), or Ive done it a bit lighter and based it around berries (vanilla or pie flavored ice cream with berries and white chocolate sauce). Whatever your flavor combos are, its phenomenal, and definitely worth a trip to JC.

First, the customer service here is phenomenal! The young lady at the register was so patient as my family and I were inquiring about ingredients and flavors. My husband and son both got shaved ice and my daughter got chocolate ice cream.I ended up getting the Hawaiian Delight which was just perfection! The flavor of coconut, pineapple, and banana was so good!. The fruit was fresh, the ice cream was creamy, and the shaved ice was like no shaved ice weve ever tasted! It was so smooth! This place is a gem and we will definitely be back to this treasure trove when we return to Johnson City one day! Thanks for having us!

Cute as a button and an interesting concept. I got the Chantilly Cake, which is a mashup of vanilla icecream, wedding cake icey topped with cheesecake, whipped cream, and strawberry and blueberry pieces. It was delicious!

Staff is always very friendly and accommodating to my children. Best place in JC for sweet treat.

Am not a big fan of the chiped ice in the snowball I prefer a frozen custard,🍦 But it does keep the ice cream cold longer and the toppings on top are a treat.

I cant begin to tell you how many times I beg my partner to take me here on a weekly basis! Sam and her crew are so funny, down to earth, and just all around great people. I get the honeydew ice with extra honeydew and when I tell you I dream about it Im not even kidding. They have an entire wall of flavors and each one is just spot on. You HAVE to go here- once you do youll never want to stop.

I absolutely used to love Sam’s and quite literally came in everyday (I was trying to work through the menu). But for the last several (10-12) times i have been in, i have been so disappointed and frustrated. I have to say that the owner was not there during any of my last visits so maybe she is not aware. The snowballs have gone downhill terribly. They used to be crunchy and flavorful. Now, they are absolute mush. At first i thought they were drowning in juice so i asked for less juice. Nope, the consistency of the ice continued to be like a slushy not the snowballs i had come to love over the last year. So i asked about it - three different visits- and was told it was something to do with the ice. I finally complained about the last snowball i received and was ignored. I am very loyal to Sam’s and usually spend about $10-$13 in there a day (2 x-large snowballs-1 for me and 1 for my boyfriend.) i tried to call and talk to the owner because i didn’t want to leave a negative comment for all to see but she is never available. I hate to, but I’m really thinking of not going back. This makes me sad.

This place is amazing! I got the Phoenix, cotton candy snow, vanilla ice cream, whip, marshmallows, AND sprinkles! This was around $6 and soooooo worth it!!!

First time going there and we are in love. Every single ice cream we got was delicious.My husband and I got a banana split and it was so good. My girls got the Unicorn slushie and oh my gosh, so delicious. I think Im getting that next time. And our son got the punk bubble gum slushie which was just ok. He didnt put any toppings either so without anything it was good but not something out of this world. Would definitely recommend and we will definitely be back.

Wonderful and unique dessert stop! Their combo of ice cream and smooth shaved ice is unique and tasty. It was amazing to look at (served well) and even better to eat.

Kids & I love this place. Its a yummy and fun summer treat. I like the unique combos of the gourmet icees and the ability to make your own combo.

I am a frequent guest at this establishment and I usually am satisfied with the customer service but tonight at 8:50 my son and I stopped to get some ice cream. When we got to the door someone was walking off from locking the door. When the sign on the door clearly states 10:00. I proceeded to knock and the person turned around and just stared at me then she proceeded to turn the light off without even acknowledging that we were standing there. I feel that this is very bad customer service especially in a world where businesses boom from word of mouth. I feel that the girl working should be reprimanded so that this dosent happen in the future causing the business to have a bad name.

My daughter had a unicorn sno cone, which I had been hearing about for 2 weeks straight. Quarantine tables outside, ready to eat. Nice folks, unicorns, happy daughter = 5 stars.

They have the absolute best snow cones around! Hands down! Period! We went here when they had a food truck and so glad they have a store front now. Anytime Im near and think of it, I go by. Especially when its hot out (but if its cool, Id still go)

These folks should.do themselves a favor and come see how snowballs are made in Louisiana. Sams ice is entirely too hard and crunchy. Its not soft at all. The syrup is flavorless, making the snowball taste vaguely sweet water but with no identifiable flavor. Plus, we waited 25 minutes for two gourmet snowballs. Eight other people got their orders ahead of us. Not sure why Sams doesnt make orders in the exact order theyre placed. Regardless, it wasnt worth the wait.

My first time here and I definitely will be back. You just have to go to be able to appreciate the immense selection and combinations of flavored shaved ices. Gourmet ices for certain!!! Deliciousness 😋

Very good ice cream, they had a flavor I had never seen anywhere else and it was delicious! Something with dark chocolate and caramel, I cant remember the name of it.

Fairly unique place for dessert, staff is always friendly. Huge complaint is they recently stopped serving Dole Whip (pineapple soft serve) and that was my go to item (as well as my wife and parents).

We stopped in while traveling on I-26. Who knew sno-balls could be this tasty? I had a traditional raspberry flavored sno-ball and the flavor was saturated all the way through. My husband bought the gourmet chocolate comatose sno-ball and enjoyed the flavors and textures along with that. Neat idea that is worth a try!

In the Tricities? Be sure to head here during the summer or any time of year for an amazing afternoon delight! Sams Snowball Paradise is great! Staff are very friendly, everything feels like its made with love and tastes amazing. It takes a little bit to make but its worth the extra wait from a normal ice cream parlour. Try the Horchata Goodnes . Yum!

Threw away my flavorless snowball☹️. Texture of ice is perfect, but syrup used lacked all flavor and most of snowball was plain ice. Workers used register, replaced ice, and prepared food all with bare (no gloves) hands that were not washed between functions, too, so food safety definitely questionable.

This is absolutely my favorite place. But everytime I look up their store hours and i go, their always closed. Very disappointing

We love coming to JC every week just to eat here its a sweet treat. The girls that work here are wonderful, but ahhh so many delightful desserts and other menu items..

So, many, choices!!! This should be your go to for when you are craving ice cream or snow cones. Clean and cheerful atmosphere and nice people.
