Found some great deals and the staff was very helpful on finding what we needed.

Love this store! We started shopping here for baseball items/accessories we needed for my 2 older kids. Now we use it for everything. Just purchased a huge pool online from here for a great deal and cant wait to get it set up next summer!

Its a great place to go shopping around. Whether you have something in mind to buy or not, youll usually find something that you want. They have a great selection.

Love Academy, this was a vacation & we needed swim suits goggles so we stopped in for those. Also we had packed a pair of shorts that we purchased from our home location and they were unraveling so we didn’t have the receipt or tags but we explained that they were never worn & we didn’t have the receipt the young man looked them up through our payment method and we got another pair. Super nice staff on top of helping out.

My boyfriend,has a feddish for this place he I think would rather go on a Friday night and look around in the amao section of this place rather than look at me stepping out of the tub start necked nothing else on but a small and so Im a bit jealous of this store but Im sure you guys are very polite and helping in every way possible thats one thing about my man hes not got time for ignorant nor rude people so all in all I would say you guys are nice courteous polite or my boyfriend would not be returning like he does I would recommend the store to anyone you can find about anything you need and things that you dont need ‼️❣️

Customer service on the phone, great ! Customer service in store, not to good. Easy to read department signs. Went straight to what I was looking for. (At the back of the store of course). Fast and easy checkout ! Walmart didnt have it. Thats the best part

Everything was good except the secret pklice that follow you your whole visit. Heck i almost thought I was stealing myself with how hard they were on me. And Ive been there numerous times to do business. Never taken one thing. But their inventory is great!

My experience was horrible with the return of pellet gun that I had only used one time but because it was missing half of the packaging they would not return it even though I had the receipt and you can visibly tell that there was no signs of damage or use. I will never shop here and again. Sucks for them because I usually spend about $100-150 a week there. I also wanted to add I did not want my money back I just wanted to be able to trade it for a pellet gun that my little boy can shoot

Academy must be under new management or something because its not the same anymore. Nothing is ever in stock, employees standing around chatting but have little interest in helping, when they do help they arent knowledgeable about the area they are working (except the guy with the unique name who works behind the gun counter- very nice and helpful!).. my last week there was so frustrating lol terrible experiences with multiple employees and multiple purchases! If I need a t-shirt or a basketball Ill go here for the price, if I am making a big purchase that requires an associate or is something big like a camera or gun or something- heck no!! Ill also never get a bike here again! Long stories to prove my points but no one wants to hear all that! Just take my word for it and pay a little more for the peace of mind that if something happens and you need to return something or your life depends on something you bought (or you want your child to survive its bike ride!) youre safe!

I typically enjoy visiting Academy Sports in Johnson City, but I also typically go for a reason. I found what I was looking for, but honestly, as I wandered the store looking at other things of interest, most of their stuff isnt priced, in no way, priced. I might of been in a more of a buying mood if I could have known an items price or found an employee to ask.

If you need a pair of shoes, dont try them on for peaks sake! The fuzzy haired short lady with glasses in shoe dept. Made a huge scene because I tried on a pair of flip flops with no socks....because you normally wear socks with flip flop, I suppose. Then when I asked for a pair of socks she was very hateful and told me they were out.....ok ...definitely wont be going back there for shoes.

It was awesome and the people were very nice and polite to me. I would recommend anyone to go check them out.

This was a great place to visit. They have about anything you would want. Clothes, shoes, boots. They have a great selection of fishing and hunting equipment, which was the main reason for my visit. I did notice their selection of gun and ammo were almost non existent, but right now so is everyone elses. Very nice store though. I will be back again.

Alot of variety. A few areas could have more. But, my wife liked the shoe department and its size.

Nice store. Flew into Charlotte for an event but only brought a light jacket. Looked for one here but they didnt have a single jacket. I guess its not the season but was in the 30s our first night.

So many different options with whatever type sport you enjoy. They guy in there hooked us up with some nice stuff. Prices are in there competing. All in all a very awesome joint.

Academy sports has an awesome fishing section! They have a section of sixth sense lures that is very hard to find in our area. Stock in other areas of the store (fitness equipment, outdoor grill/fire pit and bicycles) are sometimes a little bare. But within a few days they are back in stock. Cashiers and customer service personnel are very helpful.

I absolutely love this place. I can get all my sports equipment here. Went from getting cheer shoes and shorts to tball gloves, tees, socks etc. One of my favorite places to go if its sports/outdoors related.

This place is just like wal mart and lowes, could spend half the day in there and always leave with more than you intended to buy, love this place and the cheap prices

Was looking for a Inversion Table. Looked online it said that they have in store. Drove 45 minutes to be told that they didn’t have any in stock that the display is all that they had. I asked if they could sale it. The sale associate called a supervisor over named Deb and was told no that they couldn’t. We asked if they would reduce the other one that they had a little she immediately said no. Didn’t ask if we would like for it to be shipped or nothing. She was rude. She wouldn’t even tell us. She told the sale associate which was very nice. Than he had to us which we heard her she was right beside him. She was unprofessional. Left there and spent our money somewhere else. First time there and last time. Robert was trying to help as best as he could.

I called the hunting and ammunition department, individual answered the phone. I specifically said what is your ammo availability?before I even finished my sentence he tried to speak over me and just said No. I responded, excuse me. Then a very long awkward pause then he said the simplest answer is no. Needless to say I didnt ask a yes or no question and it was probably the same associate that is stashing the cases of ammunition and letting his buddies cut in line.

The only help available is the wonderful lady at the door. Past that youre on your own! I dont care for this. This make twice I have shopped here and the same thing happened, no store clerks for help. I dont think Ill be going out of my way again to shop here.

My wife bought me a smoker for $300. It went on sale for $250 a few days later, and they honored the sale price. They have good prices, a good selection, and friendly people.

Couldn’t find anyone available or willing to help me locate some items I was looking for. They offer NO MILITARY DISCOUNTS, which is a pain point for me. I’ll just stick with Champs Sports for shoes and apparel where I can get 15% Military Discount and a staff that is more than happy to help.

A newer, clean store with a huge sports selection. They have everything sports related. Good prices too!

Bought a gun safe there they loaded it for me got it home and the legs and the bottom of the safe are bent . Looks like it was dropped of a building. Called them asked me to contact the manufacturer myself. Would not let me trade it for a different undamaged safe. Told me if I wanted to keep the damaged one they would take off 20%. Will never buy anything there again. Forget about them backing there products.

Good luck trying to get waited on. I wanted to buy a gun safe; stood at the counter for several minutes; at least 3 employees walked by me without making eye contact and obviously “too busy” to wait on a customer. I’ll by my gun safe elsewhere

Love a good American sports store thats supports the 2nd amendment. And the prices are unbeatable. I could spend all day just in the gun department. They have everything anyone would need. Fishing, hunting, camping, running, walking, excersise, sports, shoes. The shoe prices are great, even beat Amazon believe it or not. I highly recommend shopping here.

Still have some of the best deals on sporting goods and definitely have some great staff who are very friendly and willing to help

Johnson City TN location. Employees wore masks correctly. Saw only a few customers that werent (took off or lowered after entry), but majority were and social distancing. Dressing rooms safe with limited access and usage. Employee at door emphasizing mask wearing. Found what we wanted.

They really didnt have what I was looking for in stock. I was told to order online. I would rather try stuff and and other items I would rather see what I am buying first.

I for some reason don’t care much about Academy Sports. There prices are very high and they don’t have a good selection of clothing, In my opinion. I also think the staff could do more to make shoppers feel more welcome or show you something new. They do have quality products, but they come with a hefty price tag.

My wife ordered some Christmas gifts online I pulled up and they bought it out to the carloaded me up and I was on my waygreat service
