Highly impressed with the gentlemen at this shop. Traveling cross country with two small children and a baby when our vehicle began misfiring and multiple check lights came on. Simply looked up nearby shops and chose them based on reviews. Despite being swamped with work, they performed diagnostic, sent for part, made the repair, and had us back on the road in an hour—all at a reasonable price. Absolutely top notch service in a bind. Highly recommend for anyone in the area.

My experience with Browns Mill Auto Tech was excellent. I had to set up an appointment about 7 days in advance to schedule when to bring my car in for AC repair. After dropping off the car and describing the situation to them they were able to give me an approximation of when they would think it would be ready but they did say it would be dependent upon what they found. As soon as they did their diagnostics they gave me a call and let me know what they found and how much it would cost me. I really appreciated their transparency in the issues they found and how they always would let me know of the cost before doing the repair work. They also were able to catch that one of my belts was nearly torn off and replaced it. I was glad they caught that as it would have been terrible to deal with it breaking on a long trip. They were able to finish all the repair work for replacing an expansion valve, a belt, and a condenser in about 4-5 hours. I was impressed with how quick the turn around time was and on top of that they offered me a $50 coupon to help lower the cost. The repair work was excellent as my car’s AC has been continuing to work as good as ever now! As someone new to the area I greatly appreciated the professionalism and quality of this business and would recommend Browns Mill Auto Tech to anyone looking for car repair.

When I first moved here I was iffy about choosing a new mechanic however being my first time going to browns mill, I won’t take my truck any place else. The customer service is top notch, they do a great job explaining what needs or doesn’t need to be done. Browns mil will not price gouge you I went in planning to replace both front wheel bearings and they checked both and told me I only needed one which was a nice save for my wallet. Jason is the person I dealt with and I really appreciate how he treats their clients, something I’ve never seen before especially with an auto shop. Overall great experience and great work.

Jason and his team helped us out in a time of need. No one wants a breakdown, but it is even worse when you are 400 miles from home. He was forthright and honest and I felt like I had enough information to make a wise decision regarding the repair. You know its hard to feel like you can trust some mechanics, especially when they know youre in a bind - but not this guy! He put us at ease and even offered to drive us to a rental car location if needed to help us out! If I lived in Johnson City, I would DEFINITELY take my business to Browns Mill.P.S. A tow truck driver who carries a Bible on his dash??? Yep, it makes a difference in the comfort level you have climbing up into that cab with your family!!! KUDOS!

My car broke down on Thursday and was towed to Browns Mill Auto that evening. They called by noon with estimate & it was ready to pick up by 3 pm... and, at a far reduced cost than what I was expecting!!! It drives better than it has in years too!!!! Definitely will consider using them again...

I had called multiple places to see if I could get my car looked at some point last week. I wasn’t in any hurry but every place I called was very rude when I talked to them and they said they doubt they could get me in. So Brian Gong recommended this place and I called. I can’t remember who answered but they were SO nice which meant a lot since I was having a rough week. They were apologetic cause they couldn’t get me in until late in the week but I didn’t even care. They had me in and out in just a few hours on Thursday. I just appreciated how kind they were throughout the process so thank you! I will definitely be coming back here.

Mounted tires on my brand new wheels without a single scratch on them, if you have wheels that need tires and are worried about scratching them bring the wheels to them and be worry free. very professional will definitely be coming to them again

I needed my CV joint replaced and they got me in within 2 days. I dropped it off at 8am and it was done at 10am. My daughter has used them and her experience was excellent. That is why I chose to take my car to them.

Car towed in due to dead clutch. Was offered several options as to what type of clutch to be placed in the vehicle. Had the car back in a week, would have been faster likely if parts didnt have to be ordered specially. Good service, and communication. Will use again if the time ever arises. They did a good diagnostic check on my vehicles symptoms - then helpfully took the time to give a detailed analysis of what was going on, how much different repairs would cost, and even how theyd strategize repairs if it were their car.

This shop is amazing! They sent me a digital inspection of what needed to be repaired on my car, and even explained what repairs needed to be completed first, and which ones could be done later. The mechanics even took the time to explain repairs to me.

Wow. I came in with a problem with the AC and they handled it for free! Very impressed with service. Told me it may be a slow leak but to not worry about payment until they knew what was going on--very practical and fair. They were even grilling hamburgers outside when I came in and offered to feed me--very friendly, fast, professional service. They are my go-to automotive repair in Johnson City--definitely worth a recommendation!

They recharged my air conditioning and did an oil change. They are up front about costs and do NOT try to do unnecessary stuff.

I was so impressed with the gentleman up front and also the way he kept me updated on the service status of my car. The only suggestion I would have is for you all to put a paper or plastic barrier on the floor mats. My interior is a very light cream and there were several grease streaks on the mat and carpet. Otherwise GREAT WORK!

I booked an appointment online, initially. But there was an issue with confirmation. I stopped by the day before appointment, just to confirm.I spoke with Matt. He was able to sort out the issue and get me confirmed for my appointment.He asked me about the issues I was having and also had a tech come out and speak with me.They diagnosed my issue and did a couple other little things.This shop is professional, fast, and offer great value.

These guys are awesome. I took a vehicle to them for a pre-purchase inspection. The car was great and listed at 5800. Since I’ve never bought a car from a dealer before I didn’t really know what I was doing. The mechanic told me to offer 5,000. The dealership agreed to 5100. I saved 700 dollars on a fantastic vehicle! They were supper nice and made the experience worth every penny (which by the way it only cost me 58.00 tax and all). They also took the time to tell me about preventative service on the vehicle. If you want to save money buying a vehicle and learn how to take good care of your new car, you have to go here first!!!

I came in to see what was going on with my break lights. They fixed it within just a couple of minutes at no charge. I have been coming here for almost 8 years and have never been disappointed with the service they provide. They are always willing to go above and beyond for their customers.

Towing service is great and reasonable. But when it comes to the automotive, they cost double what reputable, comparable other places in town charge. Call these other places “fly by night operations” instead of remaining professional and are rude to customers when they ask for better pricing.

Had my car towed and repaired here through AAA. The staff worked on my vehicle with the same care as a brand new car wouldve gotten. Once the diagnosis was made and estimate approved, the work itself was very prompt. Ill gladly bring my beater back here for future service.

This is an auto shop that I trust. Whenever I got a repairment recommendation from the dealership, I always get an opinion on pricing and whether I really need it. I would recommend this shop to anyone if a simple oil change or a big repair is needed. They also have coupons, which I love.

Had vehicle towed there that died while driving.Got estimate that was way beyond what I can pay for repairs.Went to shop to pay for diagnostics and a tow home.Discovered when the vehicle was dropped off that it would start and drive. Was not told prior to the tow. I guess they did not consider me capable of making my own choices about whether to have the vehicle towed home or save the $ and drive it home.

I was at my whits end trying to diagnose a problem with my diesel truck. Finally had it taken to the guys here...they are fantastic Rich was very knowledgeable and kept me in the loop with the progress. My daughters car broke down off the interstate and I drove immediately to where she was to wait with her for the tow... the tow truck guys were awesome!!! Easy to talk to and work with..I was very thankful for them that night.. they felt like it was the transmission but towed her to Browns mill shop.. they called early morning and were able to concur on the transmission diagnosis.. we decided due to mileage on the car not to have it fixed but we will definitely call Browns Mill Towing and/or Service in the future!!!! Honest and friendly shop. Took my 2012 Mitsubishi Eclipse there for an overall check, oil change and rattle noise under the car. I suspected it was from the heat shield. This was confirmed from their inspection and part was removed. It is nice to go to a shop that is honest and does not perform unnecessary work. Car was ready as requested and charges were fair and reasonable. We will take my car back for future work and will also take my boyfriends vehicle there. Very pleased with the experience I had with this shop!

Browns Mill was WONDERFUL to us! We are from Pittsburgh, and lost all the lugnuts on our pop up camper tire while on the highway! They came right out, got the camper towed to their shop, and were so kind about us leaving it there until we had time to return to pick it up! They replaced all the lugnuts on BOTH tires for us, and made sure that we would be safe for our next adventure! Thank you, guys!!!!! They were honest, and didn’t take advantage of us in a bad situation!

We were traveling and broke down with a trailer. We called Browns Mill and they picked up our trailer and helped us get a uhaul to continue. They kept us updated on the trailer and there service was good and honest. Highly recommend.

Worst experience Ive had with a shop. Do not recommend them at all. And I will no longer do business with them. Manager seems to get angry easy when asked certain questions.

I was visiting from out of state and had an unexpected mechanical problem that needed immediate repair since I was leaving in 2 days. They were very busy and didnt even have room for my repair. Knowing my situation they literally squeezed me in the next morning and had me fixed in less than 24 hours! I cannot say enough good things about Browns! They saved my trip!

Affordable Quality Work

They estimated that my car would take up to a week to fix and it only took them 3 days (including a Sunday). They also charged me a very reasonable price! If you’re ever in a tight spot, this is the place to go.

These guys were really helpful, making sure to talk me and my dad fully through what was wrong with my car, even when they were very busy throughout a couple weeks of snow. Price was fair, and they did all they could to keep cost low. Its only been a couple of days, but my car is running smoothly once again! Nice guys, low cost, great service - doesnt get better!

I always get towed by Browns Mill through AAA. Last night, Tony came out to tow me. He told me what the problem probably was and even took a photo to show me. He made a point of telling me that he isnt a mechanic, but basedon his experience, he was pretty sure what the issue was. He was exactly right! I was just going to have the car towed home last night, but he reminded me I only get 4 AAA calls per year and said hed be happy to take it somewhere else for me. I opted to have it towed to a nearby dealership service center. I called them this morning to let them know why my car was there, but Tony had already handled that too! He left a detailed note with keys explaining what the issue seemed to be and included me phone number! Thanks for everything, Tony! You made that so much easier for me!I would have given 5 stars, but I had to wait an hour and a half, which is not usually the case, but it was after hours and is understandable.

My step-son has a 2004 Avalon. The car was having problems with the windshield wipers (they wouldnt move at all). I took it to the local dealership -- they told me it needed a new wiper motor and they gave me an estimate of around $910. I thought this a bit suspicious since I had this same car in the dealership shop about 2 months prior with problems with the steering column, and the cost was $923.I took it to Browns Mill Auto Tech. They fixed it and it only cost $120. In the last 3-4 years, I have probably spent well over $5,000 at the dealership for 2 cars. No mas.BTW, the repair was over 2 weeks ago, and the wipers are working just fine. Thanks again.
