Great selection and good prices! Had exactly what we were looking for! The guy working was super nice and helpful!
I took my sons ATV there to get repairs done. Checked back every week or two for nearly six months. Every time I was told still not figured out what the problem is. After all that time with parts laying everywhere, wanted $1,700 labor!
Very helpful service dept. Needed help with my sons pitbike and they got it done and showed me how to do it the next time.
The apparel shop is the best one around Brown have really good processes on some of their jackets and stuff
Had what i was looking for and a great price..love the ls2 valiant.will be going back to pick up wife new helmet
Worked with Keith to buy the last Honda Rebel 1100 DCT in VA, TN, NC, SC, and GA. Very friendly people to work with. Fast and easy sale and the price was better than any other motorcycle shop I’d worked with. After the purchase they even helped me load it on the trailer for my long drive back home. I wish I lived closer so I could give them all my business.
Every year since the late 1930s, Jims has sponsored a ride to the top of Roan Mountain on the first Sunday of the new year. Its been beautiful and sunny. Its been snowy with an ice covered road. Its been most things in between. This year was a bit overcast and spitting snow at the top. From there to Johnson City the temps rose around 15 degrees. A late lunch was provided by the shop up return from the mountain. Its always been fun.
Service in the service department leaves a whole lot to be desired. The man looks at you like your crazy when asking questions about parts and orders. Not very friendly and certainly not in a hurry to ring anyone up muchless be very helpful and prices are pretty steep
As I’ve lived here my whole life I’ve learned Jim’s has had the market cornered and acts like it to the customers, they can hardly fix the bikes that have actual issues considering they make up 90% of things wrong to up charge you, if you have any sense please go anywhere else, ride a bike from Walmart.
Difficult to park. Had to find my way around, but parts/service answered my questions and offered helpful suggestions.
Seem to have a good selection and dont mind people taking the time to look and dream build. Its an exciting place for kids and they understand and dont seem to mind. Those kids become adultsAnd those adults become buyers
Very friendly owner. They had a good selection.
Expects you to buy without trying it! I dont think so.
I bought a new blacked out 2021 Honda Goldwing with all the accessories and Keith, Charlie and Jimmy took real good care of me. I will be a customer for life!👊🏻
These guys rock! Very knowledgeable
Very good service.
The Parts and Service folks were great, helpful and very easy to work with. Great Staff
Good selection, good customer service.
They very help full
The peaple where nice took my fourwheeler to get it fixed and they charged me 513 just for brakes and battery would not recommend 1.5 hours to change a battery and 3.5 for brakes
These guys are awesome. Any question youhave about Honda parts and accessories and Kawasaki they are on top of. Plus they have a lot of good bikes for sale.
Friendly helpful to me every time I have been there through two generations family store
Very friendly and knowledgeable staff, took time to talk with me and discuss options, I am however let down and bummed out to pay to have a professional service on my motorcycle and get it back with oil literally dripping off motor and filter housing and drain plug. I should have examined before loading and leaving with it. Just seems unprofessional. But are friendly and knowledgeable. I have photo proof, but it wouldn’t let me post it
I purchased a 2016 Pioneer 1000 with accessories in October 2017. I was treated right and got a great deal! They do not harass you, they let you alone so you can look around. If you need anything all you have to do is ask. I believe they are a top notch outfit. Very friendly and offer a positive insight on what you may want. Great job!!!
The store owner is polite and helpful without being pushy. She goes out of her way to show store items and will give her honest opinion based on customer feedback and her experience. She is willing to do special orders if I find an item on the net. Because of the good service and honesty, I dont mind if I have to pay a bit more than Amazon. Stop by and give them a look. Always a pleasure shopping or just looking.
Replaced lost key for 4 wheeler. Nice people
Excellent selection of motorcycles and apparel. I bought 3 helmets and a motorcycle. The staff and crew are really courteous. I have bought 4 motorcycles there in the past 28 years. I wouldnt think of going anywhere else. Very helpful and knowledgeable. 5 stars for Jims motorcycle!!
The best motorcycle shop in East Tennessee. Buy a ton of accessories there. They warranteed out my helmet, no questions asked. Its a shame someone broke in there.
Nice new shop
Just bought a bike today! Best experience I’ve EVER HAD in buying any type of transportation!! They have a great selection. Great prices and a FANTASTIC STAFF! If I could give ‘em 10 stars I would! So go meet them! They’re great!!
This place is a joke Jim would roll over in his grave knowing how this place is now customer service is gone. Service dept is a wreck waiting to happen had 2 tires put on after it had been there 3 weeks so called mechanics didn’t even put the Carter pins back in the axle. Took 7 weeks to put 2 tires on and fix a break switch and make sure it’s running right. Got 2 out of 3 guess they can’t work on 1973 90 cc motor. Had to take it to a real mechanic. Watch your stuff these guys are a joke. They will get you hurt
Would strongly recommend this store. In initial call, the associate verified inventory and price on a Ninja 650 ABS then immediately passed me on to the owner. Our initial conversation was about 5 minutes over the phone. His price was $2000.00 less than the nearest competitor which is a lot on a mid level sport bike, there was no need to price haggle. He sent me his options as soon as we got off the phone. I scheduled a pick up date, he had the paperwork ready and we completed it in approximately 20 minutes on the scheduled date. The entire process including him loading it in my truck took less than 45 minutes. Previously I had called dealerships within a 4 hour radius of Knoxville throughout SC, AL, NC and TN and was continuously hit with inflated destination, assembly, and processing charges offsetting their low advertisements. Additionally, the store was been in the family since the 20s or 30s which to me speaks volumes. My sales experience was very refreshing.Follow up on 9/15 to initial post. Went in for first service 1000miles, the entire team was very helpful (Rusty, the mechanic and the sales associate). It took 1.5hrs from the write up to completion which is great for a cycle service. They value customer service as much as the sale.
Kirk is that cht. Awesome parts sales staff. Going today. CB 450 1969 starter?
Friendly and knowledgeable staff always ready to address your motorcycle, dirt bike or atv needs!
Visit them for a good selection of good gear. The lady is absolutely helpful and accommodating. Thank you for great customer service :)
They have quite a bit of inventory and at fair prices.
I rarely leave reviews and Ive also never bought a motorcycle. Today I was excited to finally purchase a motorcycle and was happy to keep my business local during these crazy times. I found the bike I wanted and got no assistance first off. Well i went to the front desk and asked who to talk to. He looked at me like he didnt know and looked around and said um try that guy. I said ok and talked to the gentleman and he was cool. I said hey I found the same bike 1 thousand dollars cheaper in knoxville but want to keep my buisness local and buy from you all. He said great let me show my manager. He took me to the back and showed the manager the price and photo I had and without meeting me or talking or hesitating he said.....not interested... No explanation no haggle no reasoning and no trying to figure out who i was and how serious i was about buying a motorcycle from him. Little did he know if he had even worked with me a few dollars I would have bought the bike right then and there because thats how excited I was to get it. I got a lot of my friends looking to purchase bikes and they wont be going there. Yeah they might be doing just fine right now and dont need me but Ive worked in retail for almost 20 years and I can tell you that catches up at some point. I guess knoxville or kingsport will get my buisness and thats a shame but beware customers they simply will not work with you or even look at you in the face. Good luck
Helpful associates..and really noing what parts you need
They got what u need. They got what u want! Parts guy was great. He was very knowledgeable and went out of way to answer questions. Now on the other hand with the sales dept, you can look all day and they dont offer any assistance what so ever. Kinda look down on u if in work clothes.
Excellent customer service!
We recently had our Kawasaki Vulcan Nomad 1700 converted to a Trike (Motor Trike) at Jims. The entire customer experience was superb in our interactions with the owner, Ken, and the Technician, Charlie. Charlie did a great job! He knows his business and is terrific to work with. Ken helped keep the price down by indicating that we could get by without several expensive options. He was right. (Namely, we didnt need raking the front end, adding a parking brake and a anti-lock brake system.) The whole experience was terrific. They are certified to do both Motor Trike and Lehman conversions. Our M T version looks great. It is a dream to ride. Thanks Ken and Charlie!!
Best place to buy motorcycles or ATVs, or to get parts or service them.
They have a good range of selection there and are good to work with you on the out the door price. Just didnt have the one for me at the moment
Repeat customer, only place I will buy a generator, Honda, tks for real service
Need more atvs
I drove from Atlanta to Johnson City to purchase a 2006 Honda Nighthawk. I had some issues with the bike I purchased from Jims. After persistent communication in a variety of ways on my end, Kirk Hayes reached out to me about the problem. Kirk offered me a few reasonable options of how the problem could be addressed. I brought the bike to Kirks shop in Johnson City, and I will be picking it up this weekend. I will update this review again later. Thank you, Kirk, for making a tough situation right. You, Kirk Hayes, stand behind the Jims Motorcycles name.UPDATE - Kirk Hayes made the situation a good situation. I have a great bike. The staff was courteous in my purchase process, and Tina got all my paperwork in order, got my tag transferred and sent my registration. After some bumps in the process, I am a happy motorcycle rider and Jims is responsible for my happiness.
Great service and an overall great place. Theyre always glad to discuss bikes even if you just came in to look for a part and are very knowledgeable - usually can help you find exactly what you need, even if it means sending you to a competitor. Definitely would recommend.
Bought an overpriced Suzuki King quad from this dealer. That was my fault I guess. Not long after purchasing this new atv the fuel throttle body came loose due to improper installation. This caused the fuel injector to break into two pieces .Im a little upset at this point but I figure stuff happens. So I call them and explain the problem and price the injector. $225 is what it sales for! I was in shock so I asked about an after market part number. The parts guy says that there isnt one and I can only get it through them or Suzuki. Then I ask for the Suzuki part number so I could check around and make sure they were being honest. He absolutely refused to give it to me. So I ended up calling Kingsport Suzuki and the gentleman there was happy to help in anyway he could. Not only was the Suzuki injector cheaper there, he gave me the part number and found a new aftermarket injector for only $55. So please consider your options when buying from here. Please shop around and for me I will never buy anything from this business again or refer anyone, including my worst enemies to this establishment. Also the aftermarket injector was a perfect fit and works perfectly.
Salesman rude ignored us so we left bought parts elsewhere.
I bought a Yamaha Riva from them a couple years ago. It ran fine for two years and then quit. No problem, it is only a 125cc and has 10,000 miles on it. But I want them to try to fix it for me. I stopped out there and explained that I didnt have a car and could someone pick it up for me. Took my number and said theyd have the truck tomorrow and would call with a pick up time. That was two months ago. I sent an e-mail about two weeks ago asking them to please help me because I really wanted to get my scooter running. No answer from them.
Im reading all these negative reviews and it makes me wonder if it is just one very disgruntled customer out to get these guys. They have been in business since 1937 and would not have lasted this long running a business as these reviewers suggest. I have really enjoyed my conversations with these guys and suggest that anyone reading these reviews go in and see for themselves. Great service, great selection and good people!
Knowledgeable and friendly! Affordable riding gear. Thanks guys!
Great place to get motorcycles and the service is great and the people Awesome
Kirk and Jims motorcycles is simply the best! They helped me get into a new bike and they were also superb in repairing said bike after a drunk driver smashed it up in a parking lot. Always friendly and pleasant to do business with!
Stacey is the BEST not only the friendliest store manager but will go out of her way to make sure you are happy after the sale
I hate to be the one to say it, but I will Not take my bike back to Jims motorcycle sales and service. They lack the most important part needed for the job. Professionalism.
Was looking for motorcycle gloves and was sent to the OTHER Jims location down the road, as the first Jims I stopped at was strictly motorcycle sales. After turning around and finding the other location (which is 3 separate doors: 1 for motorcycles, 1 for parts I think, and then the last door for accessories) I finally made it in the right door only to find a sparse collection of gloves, jackets, helmets, etc. Not impressed with the gear selection. If youre in the market for a motorcycle though, this may be a good place to look. Seems like they had decent inventory in-stock of motorcycles, dirtbikes, and atvs.
These guys really know their stuff the guy working the parts department Jeff is super cool and willing to bend over backwards to help you out
Great personal service and they had everything we went their for. And the prices were reasonable.
Great people, got there at closing time and they still took time to wait on me and answer all the questions I had about the new goldwing and show me the new changes that Honda has made. I will definitely buy my new motorcycle from them.
Couldnt have been better been dealing with these guys for 20 yrs Kurt and the whole team are there to help any way possible home town service at its finest
They use the nice new bikes as a personal lounge chair. Good used selection. Decent new selection.
Just bought a 2011 1700 Nomad as a new leftover. I live 300+ miles away, and Kirk went out of his way to help me get the store, sending a staffer to pick me up at the Tri-Cities airport where I dropped off a one-way rental. Very friendly guys at this dealership, and the bike was prepped well. Kirk share many thoughts about the 1700 to help make the bike enjoyable. I have nothing but good things to say about my experience.
My one star rating is exactly one star too many. My bike (originally purchased at Jims) was hit and sent to Jims for repair. I asked them to be thorough because insurance was paying for the repair. Not only did they neglect to fix the damaged kickstand bracket (which later resulted in the kickstand totally falling off) but also cracked the the belly pan from over tightening a bolt (which they should have then replaced).
I am happy with my purchase and was treated well by the staff. The only real complaint I have with Jims is the fact that I was charged an $80 out of state fee without being told about it. They added the fee in with my tax instead of actually listing it on the invoice as a fee. When I got home and figured out I was charged $80 more tax than I shouldve been I called them and asked why. They told me that money was for Fed-Exing paperwork and pretty much told me to go fall in a hole. I realize I shouldve looked closer at the paperwork and crunched the numbers more, but I still think it is extremely shady, unprofessional, (and probably illegal) to add fees and list them as tax. I am satisfied with my experience at Jims apart from that issue, however I will be reluctant to do business here in the future.
The only reason of 1 star is I can’t leave anything less. They have the worst sales people l’ve ever delt with. If I’m going to spend my time and money, I’m going to be talked to with some respect. I went in there today looking to buy a new ATV, got to talking to the only salesman in the showroom, after he priced me the one I was interested in, which was the sticker price and not a penny less, I informed him I had been looking and pricing other places and he was a couple hundred dollars higher. After he let some cuss words fly, which he had been doing earlier in our conversation, he told me that if I didn’t buy there, than they wouldn’t work on it. They talk down to people like they are idiots. I’ll never darken the doors there again. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!!
Very nice people and a nice selection of motorcycles.
Jim is nice and helped me get the bike I wanted.
Wonderful and helpful staff. If you want a motorcycle or need a repair go here! They will really help you and not take you to the cleaners!
Very friendly and they carry just about everything you need for your bikes. Unfortunately I have to drive a good ways from bristol to get there.
Purchased my 18 Versys @ Jims Motorcycle Sales. Great experience. Easy to deal with. Completely painless purchase process.
Nice salesman....we didnt buy, but was just looking anyway
The head mechanic Charlie that works there is a nice guy, pretty honest and straight forward..
Parts department will give good service finding the part you are looking for
Love this place the workers are very friendly and they have great deal
Doing under the table work, no booking status, totaled my buddy’s gsxr1000 and says it’s his problem after they put a chain on...
Absolutely the WORST, MOST INCREDIBLY TERRIBLE bike shop around. I brought in a bike for a short, they didnt look at it for 31/2 weeks, then took 3 weeks to fix!!! Absolutely HIDEOUS CUSTOMER SERVICE. No communication, they never called to tell me what was going on with the bike. I ended up driving down to the shop because of the LAZY, CRUMMMY SERVICE. The lady behind the desk never gets up to go ask anyone a question. How do they stay in business???
They charged me $300 for a simple oil change, and they charged me $1,500 over the Kelley Blue book to beat it all there was a giant dent on the bottom of the tank. The woman who does the billing is a rude and self righteous always acting like shes better ( They are crooks dont trust them )................
Good people very helpful nice bike selection nice selection of riding gear cool old bikes open on monday
Very good place to shop
Over priced!!!!
Good selection of biker wear. Friendly service.
Go somewhere else! While in negotiations with the manager Keith on a new bike, I told him his price was too high and that the bike would just sit if he kept asking that for it. He said well then let it sit and walked away. Ive never had such piss poor customer service at any kind of dealership, ever.
Always great place to go for motorcycles and parts for Hondas
We moved here from Atlanta 10 years ago. Soon after we arrived, my wife received a recall notification from Honda for her 2004 400AT 4x4 ATV. I called Jims to schedule an appointment. I wanted to buy a new tire, get the bike serviced and get this warranty tie-rod end replaced. The guy on the phone asked me if I bought the bike from them. I told him I had not - we bought it in ATL prior to even knowing we would move to JC. The guy told me to take the bike back to were I bought it and get them to do the recall. I explained that just wasnt possible. Then the guy yells on the phone - TAKE IT BACK TO ATLANTA! I explained to the guy that I wanted more done than just the tie-rod replacement and that I usually bought a new ATV every other year or so - he didnt care! He ended up hanging up on me.That happened over 10 years ago and I still tell everyone who mentions their name about it. It has to be the most ridiculous experience I have ever had with a retailer who I am attempting to spend money with. I dont see how he stays open......well, I do. When you have a monopoly on a brand, you can do business as you wish.
Bad business every time Ive ever went in there Im treated like a nuisance instead of a customer, almost like they hate to see someone come in and I think its Jim thats in the wheelchair not sure on name but extremely arrogant, after hearing what happen to Rays bike there I will definitely never darken the door way again, further more I think Atlas Honda is tied to them some how, Ive done business with atlas a couple times bought a atv and a dirt bike there and sent a buddy there to buy a Yamaha Fz10 and after they dropped the ball over a month and also lied they lost my business too, its a shame a man has to travel outside of the area to get better service...#jimsandatlassuckatit
Great place to do business our family has bought from here for years, bought our daughter a tt110 today and will continue to go to Jims for all our motorcycle needs Thanks KIRK from the Faulk and whitson familys
This place is terrible. The employees are rude and their service sucks. I was way over-charged for a rear tire the 1st time i ever gave them my business. The 2nd time i reluctantly went back just looking for a part and they acted like i walked into a damn walmart or something. They were so rude and were aggravated that i wanted 2 give them money i guess. These people have uncertified mechanics working on bikes and i strongly recommend 2 never step foot in this place!!!!
Bought a yz250 from kirt who was strait up with me i was very happy with the way I was treated I will buy from Jims again
Terrible customer service. Wont answer calls and act too glorified for their own good. Go somewhere else for real.
Never i mean ever go see the crooks at jims honda in Johnson City,Tn to have anything fixed. If you wanna pay to die just go see these idiots. For a 20 spot dropped in a toolbox you can kill yourself and all your riding buddies! Fix it yourself or sale it before you take it to jims
Great selection of motorcycles and atvs. Needs better selection of apparel
Could be friendlier.I know people who have been treated badly here, but I personally havent had a bad experience here. I think their used bikes are over priced though.
The repairman was kindly rude, and very unhelpful in any kinda way
