Never coming back here! Awesome atmosphere, but the food choices need an upgrade. Even the deserts taste artificial, never coming back.

Interestingly, the coffee is the worst part. Totally weak. . . The food is fairly good though. Im never annoyed when my lunch break is too short to go out and I have to order from here. The sandwiches are excellent. They keep the lines moving, too. Staff could be friendlier. The prices are reasonable.

I like their selection of sandwiches and salads but there are 2 things that I dont.1. Prices - the owner constantly hikes the prices up. For example, a simple turkey avocado sandwich costs over $10. With tax its almost $12. They have raised it at least twice over the last year.2. Their menu remain unchanged for most part since they open.

This used to be an awesome place with terrific food and the best, most courteous staff. While the staff is still great, its obvious the place must not be doing so well. Prices keep going up, the front end is often short staffed, hours have been cut, and the food is just ok. The menu items havent changed much, but they used to taste better. I used to eat here every day, now its my last resort option when its raining or I need something quickly. Kudos to the staff for maintaining a fast pace despite lean staffing.

This place is a godsend for those of us working off the boardwalk in Jersey City. The owner (Scott) is unbelievably sincere in his commitment to customer service and this is reflected in the staff he chose. If you are a regular, the entire staff (esp. Danielle, Chris, Alex and Daisy) will address you by name and put a smile on your face before you leave. While this is all wonderful, it was their Tobys Estate coffee that drew me in. Before Ground Connection, I had to go 20 minutes out my way to get Tobys Estate at Routine Bakery - but since Ground Connection also uses farm fresh milk, I wait until I get to work to get coffee now. I love their bagels, croissants and hamburgers too. Their Coffeeshop Cheeseburger is so perfect for lunch because its on the small side, but filling. Too bad I stuff my face with their addictive French fries while Im at it though. The fries are so good that one of my colleagues buys them almost everyday at 5pm and shares them with everyone in the office (or at least with the people he likes at that moment). So, yeah, I recommend it. Highly.

This was my second visit to Ground Connection (I was there on opening day). I’m really impressed with their selection of goodies. I had the privilege of meeting the owner of this location and I told him, “This place will do very well” (especially with a customers like me). I believe he’s an owner who knows, what’s important…meeting and talking to the guest is the best way to keep track of what’s working and what’s not.Today I had the four cheese grill cheese and a Raspberry Lemonade ice tea on tap. The most amazing thing about my sandwich was, it was cut in four squares. This little act of kindness totally made my day. I’m looking forward to my next visit.

Being the only place for a quick bit or coffee in 3 Second Street keeps you trapped on days with bad weather, although its not the worst option. If you are in the building or nearby Exchange Place and Newport its pretty difficult to miss, right next to the entrance and actually has an entrance in the lobby. This makes options for parking pretty dismal, though most people wouldnt go out of their way to come here and I dont know if the owners really care. The cafe is only a few years old and is still very clean and modern with most of its light coming through the windows. Although its just next to the Hudson, it unfortunately has limited to no view. Its not really a great place to sit for a while, but a 15-30 minute is fine. During breakfast and lunch hours there can be a short wait and sometimes its difficult to understand why. I suggest putting in a mobile order and wait 10 minutes to pick up your food or drink. The staff is the real downfall. Very rarely do I find an interested person, especially with the barista. The owners seem to make an effort to have different teas and coffees, but they are never in stock or the staff is indifferent to serve them. Often, Ill wait a few minutes before getting a hello, or Ill leave out of frustration.Ive only eaten a few different items, mostly because of the prices and the wait. The food is above average, just too expensive for my lunch taste at a cafe. From time to time, after 4pm they have prepared foods at a discounted rate which is good for a snack or lunch for the next day.I go because of the proximity, but I normally would opt out given the choice.

They sell Joe coffee from NY and Rishis tea what in my opinion are the best. However, the place is not conducive for reading, relaxing or writing. The music is always so obnoxious lound. I usually go in the afternoon and the music is always blasting. Coffee shops are not meant to be a disco. Thats it, no more. Thanks but no thanks.

Its mostly for the servicing the corporate offices in the building its in. So it closes really early at 4pm. They serve good coffee and because the area around lacks coffee shops, its good to have them nearby.

Who would have thought that perhaps the best tasting falafel bowl in the area would come from a new, modern coffee shop? After coming here a few times now, I have to say that this might just be the best lunch option in the Exchange Place / Harborside area.I heard lots of hype about how good the falafel bowls are here and I was very hesitant to believe it, being that Ground Connection is a coffee shop with a little bit of everything on the menu. All I can say is that I should have believed it earlier. Ive gone here a few times now, and along with the falafel bowl Ive tried the flatbreads and the breakfast sandwiches. Ive been impressed every time. Staff are super friendly and prices are about on par for the area, if not a TINY bit lower. As an added bonus, they have a rewards app that makes it pretty easy to rack up enough to get a free meal. Ive definitely found my go-to lunch spot.

I always knew that coffee went beyond just Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts but I never knew the extent to which it was an art until I came here. From speaking with the manager, I got to learn about the various method of making the highest quality coffee possible and the work that really goes into it.Their cappuccino is really awesome and while I usually dont drink my coffee with sugar, I had to try the dulce de leche flavor. AMAZING. Even the black coffee was in a league all its own and you can tell from the first sip that this isnt your typical coffee shop. The food was excellent as well. My favorite was definitely the B.A.D. breakfast sandwich which had all of my favorite things on it from avocado to bacon to eggs.I dont spend much time in Jersey City but I am glad to know that they have locations in Hackensack and Livingston as well and am looking forward to the opportunity to try those!
