This is hands down the BEST Colombian panaderia around. I’ve lived in 4 different states and have tried other panaderías, but it’s just not the same. Every time my wife and I come back to Jersey to visit family, we HAVE to come here for the delicious empanadas, pastries and food 🥰And the workers are always so friendly. Really happy to see that business is still booming for this place!

Cant go wrong with Angel Azul. The breakfast and pastry snacks are on point and very affordable. Large cafe con leches for $2 and a full size breakfast for $4.75. If looking for a take out snack, the lines can get quite long but the cost benefit works in Angel Azuls favor. Great spot in JC Heights!

This review is based solely on the food items and offerings. Not decor. They have a very nice selection of baked items. They also sell coffee, juices and rice pudding. I’m not Colombian, so I enjoy trying the different assortments. My go-to are the bunuelo, which is a round brown ball that has cheese baked inside. However, you wouldn’t know that because it’s not cheesy or stringy. The pastilles de guayaba (guava puff) is so flaky sweet with just the right amount of guava jelly inside. The Colombian empanadas come with their type of hot sauce on the side. Colombian empanadas have generous amount of potato and meat combined. I’m not a fan of the other empanadas they offer because it has very little meat and the dough is greasy. Mostly all baked items range between $.80-$1.20. Unbeatable pricing. They have little tags for every item so that a non Spanish speaker can try to order without facing too much difficulty. The counter staff are friendly but speak Spanish only.

The bread is so fresh. My favorite is pan de queso. Love it!

They might have the best pandebonos Ive ever had and Ive been to Colombia to visit family numerous times and Ive lived in Queens. Theyre so delicious especially and obviously when still fresh and warm.

This food (chorizo with baked potato) put me in hospital. I wish I can give a minus star, so nobody will eat it. It should be removed from menu. The sausage was not properly cooked and who knows how long it stood there on diplay and collect bacteria.

Excellent! Ive been a regular here for about 4 years now. This small Hispanic bakery is a) filled with wonderfully tasting food; b) has a very efficient and friendly staff; c) the café con leche is the best on Central Ave; d) I get treated with a smile every single time; and e) its really inexpensive, especially considering the quality.Some of my favorites are the pan de guayba, (guava filled buns), croissants, pandebono (Colombian Cheese Bread), pastelitos de guayaba y queso (Gauva and cheese filled turnover type pastries). I could list another 5 or so, but I wont. In short, you cant go wrong with anything that you order.Mornings they also serve basic breakfast platters, theyre also the best of the type in the hood.Give them a try, theres a good chance youll end up going back frequently.

Im not a fan of coffee in general but I hear a lot of people ordering cafe con leche so I can only imagine it must be good for those that enjoy coffee. The staff is really friendly for the most part. Make sure you have quarters Mon-Sat because it is metered parking. Also, their minimum for cards is $10 so bring cash if you plan on buying less than that. DEFINITELY visit this little gem if youre in the Jersey City heights area.

I went here for breakfast around 9:30ish, there’s a decent variety of breakfast options. They have Great quality of food. Their croissants are so good, very appetizing. I would recommend this place to stop by for a quick bite.

Awesome place to meet up with your friends and enjoy great dessert/coffee! I had cappuccino and matcha crepe. I usually dont drink cappuccino but it was perfect. I just ordered crepe for my other friend but I ended up eating most it ^^;; the shop is clean, bathroom is clean, food is great, it was a perfect morning :)

One of the best Columbian bakeries around Jersey City area. Pastries and Bread is fresh and prepared on site. Sandwiches and breakfast items served all day and delicious. Coffee is made to order and great quality. The staff is super courteous and accommodating. Cant recommend this place enough.

Great place for a quick bite! The servers are warm and attentive the food is delicious and very economical and has a very homemade feel.

Food is good! Personnel is friendly.I give only two stars because they are not taking any action to reduce their plastic waste. Plastic cutlery, single-use styrofoam plates and cups, plastic bags, no initiative at all to reduce their footprint and switching to more sustainable packing... I hope this review makes the owner consider the issue. if so, I will be happy to increase to five stars!

Best spot for Colombian little bites

I love this bakery. Been going here for years. Their savory empanadas are consistently delicious. They have some of the best pan de bono Ive ever had. Plus their prices are great, $2.50 for a loaf of cheese bread.

Rather tiny shop with good stuff to eat and more importantly a very nice staff. The 6 of us had breakfast there and we enjoyed it, despite the limited space we had to fit in. It was really enjoyable and I would definitely recommend it (besides it opens at 5:30am, perfect when you get in country all jet lagged).

The food really isnt that great at all. Its quite unfortunate that its the only bakery near by. It will be the last time I come here. The bakery also offers breakfast. There are always empanadas, chicharrones, and other Colombian specialties behind the counter. Every time Ive been to the bakery, Ive seen at least two people enjoying a plate of something porky and assumedly delicious.

Food is simple, tasty, and really cheap. Took away one star for slow service at breakfast and one bad experience with a mixed up order, but over all happy to eat here and pick up pastries to go.

A tad more expensive than Rumba Cafe, but still very nice options which are South American. Ecuadorian & surrounding countries. The breakfast, lunch and dinner options are a la carte and often drink (tea/coffee/juice) is not included in breakfast. Nice choices of bread though. Now as the Colombian Dulce de Leche opened & going in full gear, and Rumba Cafe (Cuban) is also there in the strip, competition should warm up and consumers should benefit from expected price drop!
