Sometimes you want to sip a Rioja to remind you of the feeling you had in Spain on the trip you met your wife. Sometimes you want a Champagne that reminds you of a honeymoon long ago in France. Sometimes you want an IPA to bring back the summer you drowned your sorrows at the Jersey Shore following the divorce. And tonight Im surprising my new Bumble date at the byob with an exotic Belgian brew she mentioned on her profile. Whatever the occassion, Jersey Wines & Spirits has the drink for it.

Excellent customer service! I was stranded downtown due to my phone dying and the kind gentlemen in store allowed me to charge my phone. While waiting for my phone to charge, I decided to look around, its the only right thing to do to repay his kindness. He was very helpful and explained everything to me. I made my purchase and got my Uber and was on my way! If you are ever in the downtown area, please stop by, the service and selections are equally great!

Cute place with mainly wine but some beer and liquor. The wine selection is extensive and well thought out. Theres a woman there that is quite helpful, and shes really made the place for me.

Great selection at a good price for the area. Doesnt have all the same offerings as more high end liquor stores but makes up for it in price. Staff was a bit disinterested, but didnt really hold me up at all.

Extremely rude. My husband and I took a ride there today, looking for specific craft beer. My husband asked about 1, the man working said they dont carry it. My husband asked about the 2nd, the man now with a horrible attitude said, Again, we dont carry that here. Just a reminder why we dont visit stores downtown.

PROS1. Super convenient near by.CONS1. The Only Sangria Bottle named La Copla was not what I expected since it was Heavily Carbonated. All store staff should inform customers before they purchase it. Also, the La Copla Manufacturers should place a frontal description of stating CARBONATION.Yes Sangria has a splash of soda I get it but dont Overdue it by Destroying the Natural Juice Taste in a packaged bottle!

I love going into Jersey Wines & Spirits because I know no matter what I pick to take home, Ill be happy. The staff have very thoughtfully curated their wine selection so that all their products are high quality. Their wines are also appropriately priced with value in mind. They also have unique wines that you dont see at many other stores, as well as a selection of natural wines. Finally - great craft beer and spirit selection as well.

Great selection of wines and spirits right off jersey Ave. They also have reward system linked to your phone number for frequent customers. Enjoy there whiskey selection as well and love the fact that they carry Misunderstood whiskey.

I have lived in downtown Jersey City for a number of years and have always been a fan of the selection and customer service that Jersey Wine and Spirits has to offer. I recently ordered bulk wine for a wedding event and had a great experience. They were very helpful in picking out the wines and helping stay within my budget. The ordering and pickup process went very smoothly, they even kindly helped load the order into my car. I would highly recommend these guys for any purchases, big or small!

Great local liquor/beer/wine store. I really like the beer selection (not quite as big/diverse as Coolvines, but still very good). Although the one time I asked for a bourbon recommendation I was disappointed, the wine recommendations have been spot on. Very friendly staff. Also, unlike Coolvines, they are dog friendly, which is great because my pup loves this store (may have to do with the treats they give him when he comes in).

Bottle was mispriced and I did not realize it until AFTER he swiped my card. As he is processing my refund, he feels the need to tell me the credit card company will still charge him a fee for each transaction. I responded by asking if he never had a return before? He grumbled. PLACE CLEAR LABELS ON SHELVES/PRODUCTS. MERCHANDISE PRODUCT PROPERLY SO THERE ARE NO PRICING ISSUES.

Very large selection of craft beer, wine, and spirits. Incredible focus on local variety. Please make sure to ask for cold versions of what ever you find at room temp on the shelves. Their fridge is large. Also dont sleep on the loyalty party. It will help at for that expensive bottle.

Unlike a lot of other stores in the area, Jersey Wines & Spirits has a great stock of beers, wines, and spirits in a well-kept setting. Aside from the whole cant sell beer in the same store as wine/liquor thing, you could drop this place in Manhattan and nobody would know the difference. They do beer and wine tastings on Friday, which are great if you want to pick something up for the weekend and arent sure what to grab. Theres a lot to like here and in general its a good store, but a few things hold it back from being as good as some here profess it to be.Speaking specifically to the beer, prices are mostly fair but often they get beat out by big discount stores like Super Buy-Rite. Thats to be expected, as a smaller store like this has to rely more on proper curation and a knowledgeable staff. Just dont point out if theyre priced low on something, as if you do they will jack it up once you leave. There are definitely a good range of styles and breweries represented, but the customer service is lacking. The staff generally doesnt know all that much about craft beer; theyre not incapable of helping you, but they also arent going to make anything past a generic recommendation. Dont bother calling with any sort of specific question about their stock. The girl who usually picks up the phone takes forever to check, and is usually unhappy to do so. Nobody has any idea of when special releases will come in except for the owner who wont share much info, and who can be contentious and smart-allicky if you ask him detailed beer questions for no good reason.After awhile, I stopped going here regularly. I still stopped in once in awhile if I was nearby but I decided to give my regular business to Super Buy Rite and places like Good Beer in NYC. Its the little things that can kill off your regulars. Customer service is big in beer stores, where except for limited releases youre mostly selling the same thing. Why would I buy a 6-pack of Weihenstephaner here when I can get the same pack for the same/less money from someone who knows what theyre doing? And why would I patronize a place that doesnt bother to take care of their regulars when it comes to limited releases? Maybe theyre better on wine and liquor, but Jersey Wines & Spirits is a middle of the road shop when it comes to beer. Id recommend going to Coolvines which is like 5 blocks away.
