Very happy with the service provided by G&T! These guys know their cars well and have great customer service and fair pricing. The job was completed quickly and ahead of schedule. Although Steve seems like a very nice guy, the individuals he employs arent trust worthy. I started bringing my BMW to their shop for various repairs, and every time a part would be either swapped or missing. It started with the wheel caps, they swapped the new ones for old ones. I didnt mind it at first, but then the metal plate under the Transfer case was missing altogether. I assumed it had fallen somewhere, but when my current mechanic pointed out that it doesnt fall by itself unless you purposely remove it, I realized they had stolen it at G & T.On one occasion I brought my car to have the PCV changed, which they did. But the moment I rolled out of the shop, I got a check engine light. I told them right there and then and Simon cleared it, instead of being honest and telling me what was happening. The check engine light came back a couple of days later... Upon reading the codes with my scanner, I got several Valtronic system codes. Turns out they had tampered with the Valvetronic shaft sensor (during the PCV job) by loosening one of the screws just enough so the sensor would go bad soon and need replacement. They quoted me at over $2,000 for that Valvetronic job alone. I had it fixed somewhere else for nearly half the price.Which brings me to the next point: theyre overly expensive compared to other local shops that work on BMWs. An oil change, for comparison purposes, will cost you $120 there (and they use cheap oil). The PCV job cost me almost $2,000. My current mechanic does the same job for less than $1,200. They also will sell you after market parts but tell you they are OEM, or original BMW parts.

Friendly and very informative. Waited 2 weeks for a appointment, which I do understand. But, they did not fix my car. They told me the problem, but were wrong. Took it somewhere else and my car was repaired for $1800 when I was told I was looking at $4,000 to $6,000.

I really appreciated the professionalism of this shop, but I would have appreciated a bit more active communication on the timeline of my repair. I dont blame them too much though, since I came in with a major repair unexpectedly while all of their lifts were already occupied.

Steven and his brother are very friendly guys, and willing to get the work I needed done quickly and at a fair price. They have a lot going on in the shop, so call ahead, but that wont keep me from returning. I was treated professionally and promptly. Great stuff!

For the 3 years that I lived in Jersey City, I used G&T to take care of my 2003 Mercedes. These guys are great and very reasonably priced. They often did little things for free and kept my car in great shape. Steve and Simon know their stuff, and are great guys, and I can only hope to find a similar shop in my new town.

Steve is the best mechanic I have ever met. It is rare to see someone in this field and around this area that is this honest and understanding. I am a person that does a ton of research and they are priced extremely good and fair. He does not oversell nor does he start repairs that won’t fix your problem.Please support this business.The only downside is.. Be cautious of the traffic around the area. 1-9 truck is quite a mess every day from 8-10am and 3-8pm. So try to swing by there outside those commuting hours.

Finding a mechanic you can trust is no small feat. This place wont charge us if they see nothing wrong. And if they do, their prices are fair. No ripping off, here. This coming from someone that knows nothing about cars, who they could easily rip off if they wanted to. I wont bring my car anywhere else.

This was my first time using a non-dealer mechanic for any type of engine work. The timing chain and a few other items were in need of replacement or there was chance the engine would become unusable.G & T were able to pinpoint all of the issues affecting the engine and repair them to a degree so high, the engine runs better than when I got the car pre-certified at 50,000 miles.Couldnt recommend them more for their technical expertise, as well as just being decent people with the patience to explain the issues to me.

G & T Auto mechanics are very honest and the prices are reasonable. They actually recommended NOT to have a service done on my Mercedes until it was due in 80,000 miles. The owner is very knowledgeable and they have excellent customer service. I will be going back for all of my car needs.

It took me a while to find a great trustworthy machanic. I wouldnt trust any other shop with my car.

Steve and the other mechanics were great and really took care of my car. They called me with an estimate quickly and fixed what I needed within a couple hours of getting the part. Will definitely be going back for future maintenance and repairs.

My C300 broke down while my wife is driving it and it wont drive anymore so we got it towed and luckily the tow person suggested G&T auto Imports he said they do any Benz bmw and audi and they do a good quality job and price is fair too so I decided to bring the car to them and first time I spoke to Steve he greet me with a good attitude and they are very nice so I left my car to him and he called me later on telling me what happen to my car he said the front driveshaft joint broke and the O2 sensors got bent and he only tells you what really need to be fix no bs and the price is fair he doesnt over charge and they did it fast but they did a great work my car running its best again thanks to the crew of G&T specially to Steve I will recommend them to my family and Friends wont bother bringing my car to some other shop other than G&T auto Imports thank you again.

Phenomeonal customer service and honesty. Priced just right on replacing gas tank door motor for my 2011 audi q7. he admitted to causing a small scratch and offered to have it painted in his body shop, even refused to take payment for the original job till the scratch was fixed. i mean who does that these days. kudos and keep up. they are my new go to mechanics for all my vehicles.

Just wanted to say I had an exceptional experience at G & T Auto Imports. I needed a water pump and thermostat on my 2010 VW PASSAT while in New Jersey before my trip home to Georgia, I showed up at 1:00 pm on a Friday and Steve said he would have it done by Saturday and sure enough Steve called me at 12:00 pm Saturday to let me know the car was ready. He also changed the oil and showed me why I was getting alert on dash about rear light. I would recommend this shop to all my New Jersey family and friends. Great work and great customer service, Steve and 2 other mechanics that I spoke with while there were great and treated me like a lifelong customer. Very honest shop wish they had a shop near me in Georgia!!!! Prices were very reasonable!

Started going to G&T Auto about 6 years ago when I owned a MB CLK 500. Simon and Steve were always polite, professional and honest, which is a rarity in the mechanic business. I moved to NY and traded in my CLK for an E-Class and still drive out to NJ to have my car serviced at G&T... Speaks volumes about their Customer Service and why they have so many loyal clients.

Growing up in with a mechanic as a father and being a heavy DIY person I am pretty critical about repair shops but - G & T is the real deal. After taking my 09 ML350 to the MB dealer for an airbag recall the dealer handed me a quote for $8K in work that they said needed to be done (rusted brake lines, rust on oil/trans pan, oil leak, etc). My ML only had about 52k miles so I thought it strange and after looking over the quote I noticed items that I knew were fine. I stopped by G & T and they listened to my concerns, took down notes on what I wanted done and took a look at the car. They were able to do all the work the dealer said I needed plus a few extras that i asked for about 1/3 the cost of the dealer quote. Everyone was friendly and communicative throughout the process. They also got the work done in a very reasonable amount of time. In the shop I saw other Mercedes, Audi and BMW models being worked on which just further shows their knowledge on European models. All in all a great experience and my only criticism would be a little grease left on the steering wheel and door probably left from someones hand - not a big deal.

These guys really know their stuff! They kept my VW cabrio in top shape for years and have helped me with my Saab even when Im out of town. Steve offered to walk another mechanic through a repair when I was stranded in CT! They dont answer the phone before 9, it seems, and no email yet, so getting in touch isnt always easy, but its a small price for expertise.

They are really cool & honest people. I had problem starting up my 2001 BMW, they spend many days really trying to fix it and realized its a manufacture security issue that only the dealer can fix. They left the newly installed starter for free and didnt charge me anything.This time I had a window issue and they fixed it really quit on a Saturday.I would totally go to them with all my car problem !

Fairly priced and honest shop

Had my BMW 525i towed into G&T based on the fabulous Yelp reviews. The ignition on my car wouldnt turn over and they diagnosed my issue to be a failed vanos unit on the BMW. I paid $1551 to do the repair and picked up my car the following week (few days longer than I was promised). They also replaced a single ignition coil and replaced my timing chain. I picked up my car on a Friday afternoon and started driving down to Boston and my car started shaking again when I was about 30-40 miles away in Friday night rush hour. They told me to bring it to an AutoZone and test what OBD2 code was coming up on my car and call them back. I was told they would be there until 7pm - I called them at 6:45 and they were gone. I tried starting my car and it would not start and ended up having to leave my car at the AutoZone. The next day they offered to tow my car back at their cost (which was very nice) - but I swapped out the other 5 ignition coils while my car was in the parking lot and my car started up just fine. Although my vanos might have needed to be replaced at some point since they dont last forever, I feel that I paid for something that I didnt need since I just wanted them to fix my car so it would start. I wish they had just started with the cheapest item being the ignition coils since those were only $35 each or $210 total. Instead I got stuck with a $1551 bill for doing something I didnt really need, ended up getting stranded and had to fix the issue myself in the end.

If you own a german car this is the place to bring it. They are honest and reliable with their work. They dont charge you crazy prices and most of all they know what they are doing. I have brought each one of my audis and bmws here and i have yet to complain.
