Such a bad experience, zero customer service. My car had a check engine light and a Chinese looking man came out to check it for me. He gave me port to plug it, i told him i dont know how to do it and he was. Ot helping me a bit. Even i told him after several attempts that pls do it urself I don’t wana break it but that rude & stubborn man didn’t bother to help me and i left without being serve. Shame on this spot management.

It seem like a bunch of people give service over the phone. I heard about 3 customers pay over the phone and each time the cashier put them on speaker. I would never pay over the phone, everyone can hear your name and your card information. Be careful

I went to get my car battery charged. It was no good couldnt be charged unfortunately. I thought it was under warranty but I found out that it was past the warranty. I couldnt believe so much time passed by so I asked to talk to the manager and she was very helpful. I appreciate her help. I recommend you go here, as well as the Bayonne location. Hope you find what you need.

Bobbi, the parts sales manager was working the floor, parts, and cashier all at the same time. I couldnt imagine doing all the things she was doing all at once. She kept a huge smile and didnt let the lack of help get to her. True gem to customer service. Autozone is lucky to have an employee like her.

I’m really late to writing this review, but this place was a lifesaver for me about 2 years ago. In the summer of 2019, I took a road trip from my home in NC all the way to CT. On my way home, on the turnpike, my car broke down but I was able to basically roll into this AutoZone. I was only 17 at the time so I had little knowledge about cars other than how to change the oil 😂. I’m not sure what her name is or if she even remembers me but she helped me identify the issue and even called a friend of hers to replace the coil. She helped me get home to NC that night and I will always be grateful for her help. I hope she still works here and that this message is passed along to her.

Ive been a customer for years not only for my personal vehicles but i run a automotive repair shop going 12 years. So Ive been in and out of the Jersey City NJ Commuinpaw ave store for years and seen a increase in wait times and delays for parts ordered through my commercial account. Ive seen potential customers leave out due to long wait times and no available employees .Due to lack of employees working that day. Because of the close proximity to my shop Autozone is always my first choice when it comes to my automotive needs. But due to long wait times Ive been forced to shop elsewhere when lines are too long and wait times are in excess of 20 minutes. Over the years ive spent thousands of dollars in this store and i hate to see the decline .

Excellent service! I called and spoke to Oscar who answered every question and made me feel good knowing I chose the right place for help. It was just a headlight bulb but I didnt know how to change it. Got to the store where Oscar promptly assisted me and even went outside to replace the bulb for me. We clicked right away and had an awesome conversation! I know to some people that doesnt matter but Im from the south and have not felt any warm, friendly hospitality here very much in 6 years of being here so it was very nice. He was professional, fast, and friendly and you guys are very lucky to have him! Thank you Oscar for showing me there are some friendly people up here!

I bought a replacement battery for my Honda accord on 03/18/20, great price. I tried to give him a cash tip for his services due to the fact that he did did an awesome job in installing the battery at no charge but the gentleman refused it, i wish people now a days can kind to others without any hesitation and not expect any compensation in return. this is why i give this Auto Zone store five stars even tho this place deserves a 10 star review. some may say that am over compleneting but this is my experience and this is how i feel.

I bought a new battery, they gave me wrong one so I connected battery backward ( I didn’t know it). It blow up computer of my car. I told about this problem that they gave me wrong battery, they change battery but it was too late. Car’s computer was gone. I told them about it because it was there mistake, they didn’t help me about it. They just pointed out that over there is mechanic and this is not there problem. It cost me a lot of money and time to repair my car. Stuff is not good. Be careful when you buy something, prepare yourself to consequences, actually BETTER YOU STAY AWAY!!

I personally like this AutoZone, workers for the most part are very friendly. The majority of the employees are helpful except this one female supervisor/manager who seemed to have an attitude over simple tasks. Maybe it was a bad day for her but she should not take it out on customers. Besides that the store is well run from what I can tell. Just your typical car parts store.

STAY AWAY STAY AWAY very bad experience in this place ever, had a check engine light on my way home, I make a stop at this location ask gently if they can check it for me to make sure if I can continue driving or not since the car was about to completely stop, they respond NO we are only two people in the store plus the armed security guard inside they can not go outside, when I talk to the manager he said yes thats AutoZone policy, told him I went many times in different AutoZone locations never told me that, a few months ago I went to AutoZone not far 3 miles away from this location 10 minutes befor closing the gentleman save my life when was raining so bad by going outside and change my wipers under the rain, and was maybe one or two people at the store and no security guard, when I told him that he respond this is jersey city, so now its confusing its the policy or just because of the place ( jersey city) thats a discrimination I live in jersey city never had any problems with people, very nice and friendly and helpful, when I told him that he said yes I should not say that, I should say its risky to go outside I ask for his name and left the store, went to another 2 miles away only 2 workers very nice gentlemans, walk in ask them if they can check it for me they said yes of course, they did and give me the report just like perfect and again 2 miles away only two people and no security guard everythings fine, so people please stay away from this place ever

Short version: curbside pickup was an issue. I was told I needed to come in and sign for orders. If you buy anything that requires them to come to your car, youll need luck on your side to avoid any one of the 3 employees breaks or else they wont come out of the store.Update: District Manager called to apologise and said that this location underwent retraining so you dont have to come in and sign for online pickups. New car battery that I bought a month ago now died.Full version:I bought a car battery on the AutoZone website, since mine died, for pickup curbside at the Jersey City branch. I specifically bought it from AutoZone because I was told on the phone that they install the batteries they sell and there was a curbside pickup option online (great option to have during the COVID-19 pandemic, if only it were true). That same day I received a call and message the same day that it was ready for pick up - so quick, it was great. I had to jumpstart my car and drove to the parking lot. When I called from the lot I was told the staff couldnt install the battery because the security guard went on a lunch break and neither of the 2 staff members in the store can leave during that time. I was parked literally less than 10 feet from the door.Note: curbside pickup is one of the options on the online order, no time restrictions listed. However, I was told Id need to come inside and sign for the online order. I told them I didnt want to turn off the engine and risk my car dying until they could take a look and confirm that they can install the new battery. They said they cant come out and to wait until the guard came back or, they suggested, that I could ask one of the random people/maybe mechanics working on their own cars in their parking lot, who are not AutoZone employees, to help install the battery. Thats some safe and professional advice, especially considering there was a panhandler in the parking lot. I told them Id rather they install the battery I bought from them. Ended up sitting in the parking lot, waiting for 30 minutes until I noticed one of the staff people came out helping another customer. I called again and was told oh yeah, he came back. If I hadnt noticed and called in again I would still be waiting in the lot outside of their door. The leadup to the installation was really frustrating. The installation itself though went quickly, though I asked if they checked to see if the new battery was charged and they said no. I hope it lasts and that I dont need to come back to this AutoZone.

Horrible service today. Contacted store for assistance in a power steering cap, simple right ? NO. Was told by employee that I will have to be put on hold because he was the only employee at the store today. On hold for several minutes with no return of employee. I decided to take the 10 min drive to the store myself as soon as I hung up. I get to the store and there are 4 workers there. If the proper customer service was provided I would have saved a trip. Cherry on top. It looks like the manager on shift was standing alongside the other employees. I have been in customer service for 10+ years and never seen anything like that.

Severely understaffed and undertrained. watching a grown man struggle to use a point of sale terminal,in a line thats 10 deep, is a learning experience for forbearance & empathy. This employee was absolutely at his limit, running at 110% learning words like Total, cancel, etc. he is the true hero of the pandemic

I was expecting this to be a 2* experience based on the drive in. Tons of potholes on street and in parking lot, parking lot was packed and basically be used as a de facto garage (despite signs forbidding working on vehicles in the parking lot). However, the staff were very helpful with my check engine diagnostic, providing code details and possible fixes. Also good selection and prices of various auto equipment
