Everyone at First Coast Divers has been wonderful and our entire family has been certified through the shop and we couldn’t be happier! They have become our Scuba family.

This shop is always well stocked and organized. The staff is super friendly and never too busy to help you with anything you need. The instructors are great and there are always new classes being scheduled! Not to mention all of the dive trips that are available for you to book your next adventures! Instructor Charlie is rude and unprofessional to other divers in the area when he is teaching. He does not share space well or practice good diver etiquette. He caused multiple other divers from other groups frustration and a bad experience

These guys are beyond amazing! We went in not sure if scuba diving was within our reach. They proved to us it was. In a safe and professional manner. We will be continuing our education and purchases from them! If your looking for a friendly and knowledgeable team these are your guys!

The whole team is fantastic to work with and will give you honest answers to all of your questions. They dont screw you over and make you purchase additional items you dont need. Our instructor Rob was amazing and made sure we were comfortable with everything he taught us. He also made sure we had a great weekend with great dives!

Alaina was incredible! Great instructor and personality! The open water certification was an amazing experience at devils den and rainbow springs. If anyone gets their certs from here, make sure it’s with Alaina!

Hebert is A great instructor and a great person all around he took the time everything else teach me the way to the road and everything else in a good man to trucks to drive with hi recommend to drive with him

We had an amazing experience with Alaina in order to get our open water certification. English is my second language but she managed to explain everything really clearly and in a way I could understand. We dived in 2 amazing places and at the end of the course, which I started with many concerns and not really confident, I felt way better and I made it! We’re definitely gonna join other classes with her.

I had a mask break out of warranty. The shop owner was very nice, looked through many invoices to find my purchase in hopes it wasnt too long ago. After confirming the warranty was over, he patiently worked with me to find a solution. Ultimately it was an new mask but he provided all around excellent service. Thank you

I recently took my open water divers course and I could not be happier with the experience. Your first breath underwater is one you will never forget! After your final dive, you will feel more than confident to begin your own diving adventures! The Owner, Dan, and instructor Rob are very personable and will answer any questions you may have about their inventory or classes/services offered. Went in today to get help with wetsuits! I am a plus size woman and Am new to diving definitely needed Some assistance picking the right gear.Dan was beyond helpful and encouraging. I will definitely be going back!

Dan was very helpful getting us set up with gear and explaining everything to me and my family multiple times. My family took a beginning dive course and the instructors Rob and Alana were awesome, very patient, encouraging, and positive. It was a wonderful experience for me and my family and I would most definitely recommend First Coast Divers for all diving needs! We enjoyed it so much we are taking several more classes with them and joining them on scheduled dive trips!! They really got us excited about the sport of diving!!

My wife and I were originally certified many years ago, and enjoyed the sport very much. However, due to various reasons diving ultimately fell by the wayside. Just recently, decades later and kids grown, we got the itch to dive again. We visited several shops in the Jacksonville area hoping to find the right fit to help us rekindle our love of diving. After stopping in to First Coast Divers and meeting Dan, the owner, and Alaina, one of their PADI Master Instructors, we knew we had found our new scuba home. We also had the occasion to meet Rob, another senior instructor, who was friendly and welcoming (Semper Fi, Rob!) Even though our previous certifications dont technically expire, in the interest of safety and familiarization we elected to re-do the entire PADI Open Water certification course, and chose Alaina as our instructor. We also decided to include EAN/Nitrox certification, as that was not common during our previous scuba lives. We just completed our re-certification yesterday, and could not be happier with our experience with First Coast Divers. Dan is a consummate professional, and expertly guided us with all questions regarding training and equipment. Alaina was a wonderful instructor; knowledgeable, personable, and extremely patient with those of us with a few years under our belts who might need a few accommodations. We are incredibly excited to return to the wonderful world of scuba diving, and have already signed up for dive vacations with FCD. With Dan and Alaina, we feel that we have not just met diving professionals, but have added new friends to our lives. Thank you both for everything!

Clean and organized shop. Great staff, friendly and curious along with knowledgeable. .Years ago I taught scuba. As a fellow instructor I was pleased to have chosen 1st coast to teach my son. Allen even taught me a thing or two.

Dan was very knowledgeable and helped me find the perfect fit for my gear! Rob was an awesome instructor who was patient but fun at the same time! I had difficulty finding a PADI shop to complete my certification that I had started in Jamaica but Dan was able to find a class for me and cater it to my needs. I highly recommend them!

I cannot appreciate and acknowledge enough the personal care and attention I got from the trainers Lee, Alan and Chris to train me on Scuba diving skills. They were through professionals, went over every minute details meticulously and were extremely dexterous in teaching and training. In person, Alan, was awesome and literally trained me one on one and ensured that I not only learnt all the required skills, but instilled great comfort and confidence in me.Simply an awesome crew to learn the professional skills and a great place to get hears. I have been to many Dive shops around town and I always come back to FCDs shop. Dan and his staff are knowledgeable and helpful. I recieved my AOW and Nitrox through them in 2010. I always have a good time hanging out and going on trips through the shop.

Absolutely 5 star business and staff. Dan is friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about scuba. From the first time he reached out to me until well after the course was finished, hes been nothing but professional. Took his time with me in sizing gear and never once tried to upsell me, which I appreciate more than anything.During the course, Rob was the best instructor Ive ever had for anything. Professional yet laid back and fun. He went the extra mile to make sure we all were not only comfortable and confident, but he made sure we were having a great time, as well. The class was small and never once did I feel rushed or pushed through. I got the one on one attention I needed when I needed it.If youre looking to get into diving, seriously, start here. Dan and company have my business for as long as Im in the Jax area, and I will refer everyone I can here. Ill be back soon for more classes and more gear!!

The owner is very knowledgeable and is able to give you very good advice especially when you have no clue what you’re doing. Their prices are reasonable and in line with the market. I would definitely recommend going here for all of your diving needs.

The guy who runs this shop is awesome! I shoot PCP Air rifles that run on HPA of course. This is the shop i fill at and get my VIS inspections done.My tanks are never 100 to 200psi below a full charge like a lot of shops that fill to exactly 3000 or 4500psi so after the tank cools you will be a couple hundred psi low. When they fill and the tanks still warm it will be about 3300psi for a 3k tank so after it cools you will be dead on 3000psi same with my 80 and 100cf SCBA carbon tanks.The are quick and always no waiting for a fill. I can walk in and they fill my tanks while i wait. Very friendly and nice to talk to.If you need a HPA recharging source you simply can not beat this dive shop, they are the finest in Duval county.I used to use Scuba tiger, the owners mother is very friendly and welcoming but the owner (longer hair guy thats mid to late 30s, years ago had short hair) seems like he could care less that you are in the store. I have no doubt that its because im there for a fill and not buying dive gear HOWEVER i have bought two used 80cf 3000psi tanks from them, a two brand new 149CF steel 3500psi tanks (470 dollars each) and had him order me a 100cf 4500psi tank that i could have bought online for about a 100 dollars cheaper but chose to give him the business. So im not just there getting air and him making 8 bucks on me for a fill every now and then i have spent big money in there and if he was friendly and acted like he cares about my business he would still get it.I really wish i would have bought the tanks for this store i really do as they see you as a customer not just 8 bucks or so for a fill here and there. Two of my 100cf 4500psi bottles will be at there 15 years later this year and you can bet your butt if this store can order SCBA tanks for me i will 100% be replacing the two and my funds going to this shop.I will be doing all my filling at this store from now on and thats the two steel tanks, 3 100cf carbon tanks and 4 80cf 3k tanks that i also just have filled at the same time. So the next time i go i will be having 9 tanks filled and thats around 100 bucks for those fills and i run through that much air about every 2 to 3 weeks.I really thank you for being a awesome shop and you have 100% of my business for air and cylinders from here on out! Thank you again and i will be sending friends of mine to you guys for their Air and thats a lot of people (they come to my property to shoot as i have a large plot of land that we shoot on. There is about 20 friends of mine that have HPA refill needs.)

Great dive shop, use them all the time. Dan is a very honest and upfront guy. We have chartered a few trips with them, always have a good time.

Terrible. I spent a large amount of money to get certified. The instructor was rude and impatient. Its hurtful to want something and pay that much money and not to have someone with the patient to help achieve your goal. I left there feeling stupid and worthless. WORSE EXPERIENCE IN MY LIFE!

Their shop is in the ghetto. Really draining & negative energy there... From my experience at this place with these people, a significant majority of these comments look fake.
