It was a horrible shopping experience at City Thrift today. They were extremely busy (a 50% off day) they had 2 cashiers and the line to check out was wrapped around the store. We stood in line for OVER an hour and a half to find out we could not use our debit card or a credit card. The store was very warm and the bathroom was closed. I have never been in a store that was so mismanaged.

Pretty big thrift store! Inside was pretty clean and the employees were friendly. Clothing seemed to be pretty stocked up but they were lacking in furniture/bigger home decor items. Prices were a little bit high too

Very rewarding and if the really nice stuff where on sale it would had been perfect. I found some nice stuff because my kids are tonka rough on clothes and shoes. Why not buy gently used clothing to save on pocket and your sanity

The staff took my backpack when I walked in which made me thoroughly displeased as I felt judged and profiled. As if I trust the staff of as much they didnt trust me to hold my backpack behind the counter with the bleak hope that they wouldnt steal the things from my backpack, as they are all minimum wage workers in a westside thrift store. Other than that, great experience overall. Well priced and decent selection.

The quality of this store has really gone down! Items are OVERPRICED! The arrangement of the store is deplorable! The shelves are nearly bare and items are placed anywhere and everywhere! Its a shame....I used to enjoy coming here to shop...but now its so discouraging!

Hands down the best thrift store in town. Definitely pays to come on holidays when the whole store is 50% off. This store keeps me looking like a million bucks for a few dollars.

It was a good experience. Rest Room was closed which I did not appreciate at all. I hope they continue to get good stock. If your looking for a sleeper thrift store this is it. Go early to get great merchandise.

I love shopping here. But you guys are the only thrift store in Jacksonville FL that the dressing rooms are still closed. If you guys are gonna to continue with this policy. You guys should at least let customers do returns.

I havent had so much fun in a thrift store in my life, the music was fun and sent me back to the old days while I looked around, the cashier was a total sweetie to. I worked there when I was 17 & Im 52 now, its really changed for the better. Very clean and everything was found with ease. Ran into one rude customer but she didnt ruin my day. If you wanna enjoy shopping for goodies its here, I really liked the prices to. Anything you need Im pretty sure you can find it here.

Huge, lots of stuff, some even brand new. Mens, womens, and childrens Clothes, couches, lamps, books, childrens toys, and a whole lot more, they usually have daily specials, and the staff r very nice and helpful. And remember if u liked my post and or found it helpful, click the like button.

@kimberly pretty sure youre upset you were caught stealing so now you just go post about how rude the staff is for catching you lol nice try. @caseywhitt you cant possibly say the whole staff is rude when the whole staff is never there at once therefore how would you know? most of that staff is always friendly and helpful, if you have a rude one well their probably rude for a reason because they get treated poorly by customers, Ive seen customers yelling at them for no reason other than they didnt get their way or some imaginary discount

Extremely overpriced! Great place for junk-buyers and hoarders. Everything is heavily picked over and they sell at vendor prices not thrift prices.

A spacious, nicely organized thrift store, good prices. Daily discounts based on price tag colors...30 or 50% off. Senior 30% discount day = Tuesday. Military discount everyday, I think. Staff is nice, helpful. I have found some very nice items here, many different name brands.

Its a big thrift store and at times is loaded with good finds in clothing and collectibles. I visit often.

@ Linda, City Thrift allows exchanges for up to two weeks now as long as you keep the receipt and the tags on. Better than nothing, its a thrift store though I mean what do you expect? Its not Macys.

Found a Blu-ray Ive been looking for at several places new. Decided to stop here and was surprised to find it.

Very nice items that they have and really reasonably priced items. The lady that waited on me was very polite, respectful, and nice. I will most definitely be returning there.

Place is now over priced and did away with electronics, tools etc. Years before they has great prices and very well stocked. Now its almost empty. Just lost a long time customer.

Best thrift store in Jax, in my opinion. Staff are courteous and they always have a great selection of clothes. Paxon area is my old stomping grounds so its cool to visit a store my grandmother took me to 25 or so years ago (maybe not the same store name but same location).

The employees were awesome and full of cheer. Very clean and organized. Only thing I miss is the furniture section. Dressers, table and chairs, or cabinets. Love hunting for the sale colors or the day.

I love this place, you can find just about anything you’re looking for in here, and it’s very organized. I would have given it 5 stars, but the only thing is the customer service of a person that works here. Listen, I highly empathize with customer service worker as I am one. I know how it is. But when a customer hasn’t done anything to you at all, why are you going to act with a sour attitude? An older women was checking us out, and she was blatantly disrespectful, saying how she was having a terrible night and that it would be better as soon as she leaves. And with our friends, she was sweeping for a good 3 minutes before checking them out. In customer service, you stop what you’re doing, if you were trained at all in the correct way. We were made to feel like we shouldn’t have been in the store and that we were doing something totally wrong just by giving our business. I would suggest a job where you don’t have to deal with customers, there’s plenty of them out there. I want to come back, but this older lady literally made me feel like an inconvenience just for buying some clothes?

I am from Louisiana and went in looking for luggage. I was very impressed with how organized the store was ( way better than Goodwill). The cashier was very friendly . The atmosphere was good. When I come back into town I will return to shop here.

Every time I go here to get things I need it seems I always have more than just a few choices to pick from, and I always get more that I came for. The prices are very cheap and the things that they have are in very good shape...some are even new. The employees are friendly and helpful. If I ever need anything I try to shop here first.

First time shopping there today and I must say it was a pleasant experience. The people were very friendly, I was greeted at the door, everything was neat & organized. I found several great items, I was happy that they offer millitary discounts! The cashier was the nicest, I will definitely add this to one of my favorite places to thift.

Ive shocked here before didnt find what I was looking for.

The employees were OK, but the store itself was filthy, I saw 2 women customers, at different times, walking around with NO shoes on & another lady (who looked to be in her late 30s/early 40s) was completely undressing (mind you she has no underwear or bra on) in the aisle to try something on & you could tell it was way way too small for her. The employees just looked and shook their heads as though what was taking place was part of there routine at work. I got a couple scrub tops at very good prices but I would never ever go back.

I shop here alot. They have a huge a variety of items. Sales are different each day and they have huge clearance sales on certain holidays. Would recommend.

This store use to be reasonably priced . The prices have skyrocketed . Used shoes 20$ a 3 dollar shirt is now 7$ . Its really kinda outrageous . Beings they are getting the stuff for free .

Alot of our items are bought from auction. Named brand clothing is priced at a very reasonable price. Started working for this place, and I am very happy here. I am cleaning the store as I go, but this store has been open since the 1980s. I am going to give this store my all, and put alot of TLC in here.Our Manager is wonderful, our furniture is reasonably priced, we have great sales every day of the week. Hitchhike into town, got a job interview and got sprayed down with air freshener, not deodorant, and asked to speed up the process because our body odors are offending people. Pretty low blow on their end. I feel discriminated against but it is what it is.I’ve been a customer of this store since I was a kid, didn’t think I’d see a day like this at this store. 💔

Went shopping and even though we didnt get any tags for extra off we still got a bargain. But u can diffently tell a difference between the day crew and night. The day crew is more friendly and helpful versus the night.

Took 1 hr for me to get a couch. Aldo some items in tgere are marked way to high. Need a revamp and prioritize.
