Finest cupcakes Ive had in a very long time. Been going there for a couple of years and never disappointed.Staff is cheerful, friendly, polite & helpful and a smile for their customers is always there.

Im always super anxious going into any kind cake bakery, however this place has phenomenal cupcakes! They are so moist, never dry. The chocolate peanut butter cup is my absolute favor and to die for. The red velvet is also phenomenal. You wont be disappointed gettinging cupcakes from here. Yes, they are a little pricey, but you get quality for sure. The ice cream is too sweet for me, but my hubby and daughter really like it. I will continue to come here for my cupcake cravings. 😁

The young lady behind the counter was unhelpful and really didnt listen to us. She just wanted to say her schpiel and move us along. Meh, $5 cupcakes and $9 milkshakes from an apathetic staff member just isnt my thing.

This is such a nice little bakery. The staff was super friendly and answered any and all questions I had about allergens. The smashes were very good and the gourmet cupcakes are delicious. I will definitely be coming back.

Stopped in soon after opening time, and they were very friendly and helpful. I picked up a few cupcakes & the flavor of the month ice cream to-go, and everything was packaged well, easy to get home. We were very satisfied with everything - it was very good!

Had the brownie with caramel and walnuts. Good. My hubbies strawberry lemon cupcake was good too and was fresh. Had a sample of the ice cream. Yummy. Will order ice cream next time. Cupcakes $4.25.

Went in to get some for family and a few for my birthday and the lovely employee suggested I get the 6 for $22 which is a great deal considering 4 are $17. There was literally no line or anything, but I’m sure even if there was there wouldn’t have been much of a wait. I work for a non-profit organization and we often time rely on companies and businesses for donations. When I called Smallcakes and asked if they would be willing to donate one of their (beautiful and delicious) cakes they were thrilled to help out! The owner, Joanna, make an effort to connect with us and follow up to make sure that we had a pleasurable experience. We were hosting a Mothers Day Dance and our students and parents loved their cakes! I had a wonderful experience with all of the staff members that I interacted with.

Awesome! Cupcakes were amazing and I enjoyed it a lot, cupcakes were a little pricey for 6 cupcakes we got it was $22 even. Honestly, it was worth it. Not to mention how appetising they looked and smelled!

I had a great experience the other day. I went in with my family and I had a taste for a cupcake that was not on display. The young lady listened to what I had a taste for and she was able to create the cupcake that I desired. She gave great customer service and made a great experience for me. Love it! I am new to the Northside and Frankly I hate the food and I hate the service that I[ve experienced on Dunn Avenue. I REALLYand wanted some Thai foodand didnt feel like crossing the Dames point SO I reluctantly found a place 5 min away. Much to my surprise this cupcakery was next door. Of COURSE I had to try it AND Im SO glad that I did!! I am a CHOCOLATE lover and I actually ordered 6 different cupcakes and I started with this delicious looking..brownie walnut looking cupcake. I dont know the name of it YET.. Ill find out tomorrow when I go to grab 6 more! I never made it to the other 5.. This chocolaty, carmel, chocolate chip, walnut brownie cupcake is the BEST thing Ive put in my mouth in years. I can definitely say its the best cupcake that Ive ever eaten. If you LOVE chocolate walnut brownies..this is the cupcake for you. Its as if I prayed to God for a brwonie cupcake from heaven and he guIT really is THAT GOOD!!. Also the customer service was EXCELLENT! If you come near the airport.. you must stop here. This actually gave me something to look forward to on this side of town...I see the light now and its a chocolate light!!

I have now visited this establishment 3 times and Ive held off on writing a review because I really wanted to like this place and be able to support a local business. Unfortunately, the sign somehow implying a direct conncetion with high USA Today ratings is just a preposterous as keeping the doors to business open.On the first visit, we were the only customers. Several of the flavors were our of stock. The guy working behind the counter was busy on a cell phone and not at all interested in customer service. I chose a cupcake and a scoop of ice cream...$7. Quite steep considering the experience and what I received.The second visit was about the same. I actually came in for a red velvet cupcake and they were sold out. This time I left hoping for a better experience next time.The third, and final, visit was last night. We were having dinner next door for my birthday and our small party wanted cupcakes and ice cream. We walked into the mostly empty restaurant only to be disappointed that they were completely out of cupcakes.This is my bottom line. This business will fail. You cant expect a cupcake store that sells $4 cupcakes to remain open when tehy dont have any to sell. Even with good customer service, which they do not have, its hard for a business to succeed. I will not be back to this business. There are superior cupcakes in Jacksonville like Sweet by Holly and Gigis, although admittedly not on this side of town. But at the end of the day if you want an average cupcake, Publix, Winn Dixie and WalMart are nearby. Save yourself the frustration and choose another dessert option.

Super cute little cupcake/homemade ice cream shop with lots of inventive flavors of both the cupcakes and the ice cream. The employees there are so helpful and friendly especially Ryann I enjoy going here anytime I’m out that way.If you haven’t tried it it is definitely worth the trip.

One cupcake is $3.75 and 1/2 doses $21. They were moist, tasty, and pretty. The service was not great meaning, she never listened to my request. She didnt let me pick my cupcake. She tried handing me the less attractive ones, she said she couldnt touch my payment and then place my receipt on the table... oh, and Im black. Anyway, I wont be going back but you should go. They were good cakes.

My son and i was there last week and I had a brownie caramel cupcake and my son got a salty caramel milkshake and it was delicious. The young lady was very nice but she was the only one working and after five minutes five people came in. You really need at least two people working, unless someone was in the back but they should have checked on her. It is a little pricey but its worth it..You know what they say..You get what you pay for so if you want some cheap, stale and dry cupcakes you may need to go somewhere else.. But overall it was great

Delicious! I have tried their cupcakes before and yesterday we tried their coconut icecream (with coconut shavings) and their pumpkin spice..it was really good! The place is really nice, from their service, location, the decorations and the ease of reading the menu. A must try if you are around or if you are a local!

Very tasty and hands down the best cupcakes and ice cream Ive tasted. They didnt have every flavor when I went in, but thats not their fault I came in later in the evening. You get what you pay for, and these gourmet desserts are definitely worth the price. You can taste and see the quality. I will definitely be back for more.

We went to Small Cakes after dinner. It was just @ 8:00pm. As we were walking in, the employee advised us that they close @ 8pm She did allow us to come in & order. I was asked to lock the door. Immediately, a lady came to the door with a small girl. The employee looks & says we close @ 8. She did ask me to unlock & let them in anyway. As my husband was handing me the cupcakes & asked whether or not we wanted to eat here, the employee states Im going to box those because we close @8. We & our friends probably would have gone elsewhere, if we would have known that we couldnt enjoy our dessert together rather than taking it back home. I have no idea how the cupcakes tasted. Since my friend took hers home & I didnt want her daughter to be left out.

I loves smallcakes. My favorite is the chocolate cupcake with pink icing. As a tip, make sure to call ahead before taking a trip up to confirm what flavors they have available. There is nothing worse than getting excited about cupcakes then finding out they are completely sold out or dont have your favorite flavor.

Horrible customer service. I went in for the first time due to recently moving to the River City area. Had to wait 10 minutes before anyone even came out to greet me. Was impatient and rude. I felt like I was a burden instead of a possible paying customer. Did not even attempt to sell me cupcakes. After my interaction with the lady behind the counter, I did not buy anything nor will I be going back. Disappointing to say the least because if I had been given good customer service, I would have bought cupcakes and more than likely have been a regular customer. The cupcakes looked incredible! Too bad the customer service is horrible!

While the cupcakes are good, the staff here is terribly trained. We have been contacting this store for the last couple of months to make sure we could order 60 cupcakes. We were told to just walk in and buy them, no big deal.Then, suddenly, 2 days prior to the event, someone else tells us we were supposed to order them 3 days before the event. Now they want to upcharge a 15% rush fee on us?We cancelled the order and wont give them our business anymore. The staff should know the policies and not give conflicting information. Not to mention the woman was rude and condescending the entire time.

I have never had a cupcake this good in my entire life. I am a huge fan of German chocolate cake and I tried Smallcakes German choclate cake and Coconut Cream Pie and it was spectacular. Moist, not overly sweet, and just delicious. I would recommend this place to anyone who likes a sweet treat. Great job.

I stumbled upon this place during a visit to Rivercity Marketplace. I read reviews online before going in and decided to give them a try. First impression was awesome. The restaurant was very clean and chic! The environment and staff was welcoming. There were several cupcake options available but I was disappointed that the cookie/ice cream sandwich and strawberry cheesecake was unavailable as advertised. I ended up choosing the hot fudge Sundae and red velvet and both were really good. Hopefully I can try my original choices soon.

Just wanted to give a shout out to the two ladies that were working today. I forgot my mask and when I realized it one of them offered me a disposable one from the back. Even the smallest gestures of kindness go a long way! And, as always, the cupcakes were excellent!

My family and I first discovered smallcakes in Williamsburg VA, so we were happy to hear we would be living next to another down here in FL. This store is very clean and well maintained, the cupcakes are delicious and the ice cream is incredible. My Favorite thing about this location, is that they have a little area for children to play! I love bringing my toddler here to have a snack and have a quick little play date. Little tip to remember, if you go to the store a couple hours to closing, they slowly stop baking more for the day and you will be stuck with very little options, so go when they open or in the middle of the day and see just how many flavors they have!

The cupcakes are good and the staff are beyond friendly and patient. However they never have whipped icing available on cupcakes and that kind sucks for those of us who cant have buttercream. My hubs and kids love their cupcakes though and I loveeee the cookies!

Amazing and delicious.Disappointed that they were out of so many flavors and the lack of vanilla cupcakes. But that is the price you pay for having fresh cupcakes.My only complaint would be their packaging is not the best. For the price you pay for a six pack you should be able to walk to your car without your cupcakes falling over and being a mess.

I was excited to try this place from the reviews, the place was empty and the epmployer there was SO UNDRIENDLY and rude. We’re visiting from California and she made our first visit here and questions about the bakery seem like we were wasting her time. We picked out 1/2 dozen cupcakes (Key Lime,Chocolate Cream, Coconut Cream, Lemon, Strawberry and Peanut Butter Cup) The actual cakes tasted great, moist and delicious, some of the frostings and fillings were hit or miss. I live visiting bakeries being a baker myself, but seeing beautiful desserts in a cute shop like this one is half of the experience and I think the customer service and employees need to have fun personalities and be conversational, because of that we wouldn’t go out of our way to visit here again like we did yesterday.

I like the cupcakes, but I cringe every time I walk in and a particular employee is working (receipt this past week said Ryann). In my opinion, she’s just not very welcoming and friendly. She doesn’t really smile and she didn’t even address me when she walked from the back to the counter this time. I waited a moment for her to address me and when she didn’t, I just went ahead and ordered. I’ve noted it on multiple occasions, but this time it bothered me enough to leave a review for management. If you’re the owner of this place, please take a peek at the customer service being rendered by this employee. I was there on 7/17/19 at ~11:45am.

Skip dinner and go straight for dessert! If you like a good cupcake then you will love this place.

I was on a business trip and ate at the Green Papaya and saw the interesting pink cupcake and ice cream store. I ordered the Strawberry Cheesecake and strawberry ice cream and it was SUPERB! I have had cupcakes from many places across the country and in other countries and let me tell you, these are the BEST cupcakes I have EVER had. The owners were also working and the customer service excellent. Very friendly, knowledgeable and accomodating. I, of course, had to order a few more to enjoy them while I described each decadent flavor on facetime to my jealous wife. Needless to say, the next business trip is now a joint business meeting to keep the wife happy.

Overpriced and Horrible service. Stood in line while completely ignored while girl cleaned up, she didnt bother to speak and was confused as to who was next after someone else had come in. You would think after standing there for so long I wouldnt have to let you know I was the ONLY one there for 10 minutes.
