I am a working healthy care professional. I had an appointment for a routine annual check up. I recently moved from a different state and my insurance is out of state. Prior to getting the appt confirmed I called twice to ask if my insurance is in network and if there’s any insurance ID I need to mail out and the front desk assured me 100% its in network and all is good. When I showed up at my appointment, I was told my insurance is inactive. I called my HR department and insurance company and they said it’s active. The front desk staff was SO RUDE, they made me wait half hour while they “apparently tried” to get in touch with the insurance company. I had taken two hours off from work and I told them i see patients regularly and work at a clinic where we get out of state insurance patients as well. The front desk said when it’s out of state it doesn’t pull up in their system which I thought was ridiculous. In short I wasted my time and was disappointed by the lack of communication from front desk.I could not be seen that day. When I checked with my insurance company they said it’s in network and I should be able to see the Dr. I was not happy with the way the front desk treated me. I’ve heard good things about the medical staff but was really disappointed with front desk. Call twice and confirm with your insurances esp if you are out of state.

The Doctors are amazing, the front desk staff is not. The other low rated comments on the front desk staff on this review page pretty much sums it up.

I’ve been a patient at family eye care since I was in elementary school, now I’m close to 31 years old. Dr Conekin has always made me feel welcome and explains everything in clarity. His staff have always been friendly. Denise and Alexis are very helpful at the reception desk and Vanessa is awesome in fitting patients for glasses. They all work together very well!! Thanks to all!!

I decided this year to go where my husband went for my eye exam. It took three different times to send the glass prescription off, two eye exams and the doctor I saw was still not listening to the issue that light was bothering my eyes. (To the extent that sunglasses were not helping.) I have learned a very important lesson. Dont mess up a good thing. I have seen Dr Conekin most of my visits there since around 2002 or 2003. I have also seen Dr Butler, both outstanding doctors. Dr Butler to me is wonderful, he listened to me, check my eyes thoroughly and it is cataracts. The doctor I had seen told me I didnt have a issue with cataracts. To me he made me feel so happy that he listened and was able to diagnose that it was my cataracts causing the issues. Now I am being referred to see an ophthalmologist. If I need to see a doctor for just reading glasses for after my cataract surgery, I will be seeing them. My loyalty stays with Dr Conekin and Dr Butler. Wonderful office and Dennis at the front desk very polite and helpful also.

I had accidentally given them the wrong ssn number To be billed for tricare...They did not tell me or bill me until 11 months later... in which I called and gave them 2 more numbers That they told me we’re needed...But were “apparently” wrong...That I was again not notified of until I tried to schedule another appointment...So because it had been over a year I had to get TRICARE on the phone with them to make a correction To submit a form stating the reason that the insurance was not billed within a year so that the insurance would backtrack and cover that ( YES TRICARE CAN BACKTRACK AND COVER YOUR OLD APPOINTMENTS WITH THE CORRECT PAPERWORK)....The manager at this office was so incredibly rude to the tricare representative (that was very nice) that I felt the need to apologize to her for the way that she was just spoken to. She felt the need to tell her that “all of her 10 years she never heard of such” (incredibly rude to back talk someone that was being really nice...a lot nicer than I would have been). And that was not the first encounter from the manager that I’ve had that was very rude for no reason.

I cant say enough positive things about Dr. Conekin & his staff. The doctor & staff was kind, courteous, thorough and incredibly prompt. My appointment was at 9:30am & I was seen at 9:30am - Not a moment later. I would highly recommend Dr.Conekin and his team for any & all of your eye care needs.

I have been coming here for 29 years. While the doctors are impeccable the front desk staff is increasingly growing more rude and inconsiderate.My family and I have now switched to Visonworks solely because of how the front desk staff treats their costumers.Please be cautious when choosing this provider as your eye care establishment.

Amazing staff and people who are friendly and care about their patients.

I came into their business today with no notice. My glasses were out of adjustment because I had been in a car accident. The staff took care of the adjustment in less than 10 minutes and even though the problem with my glasses occurred because of the car accident they did not charge me anything for the adjustment. The staff was friendly and professional and I was truly grateful for the A+ service that I had received today.

There isnt high enough praise for the outstanding care and complete professionalism of Dr. Conekin and his associates. Our family is a huge fan of Dr. Conekin and his staff. For years, my adult son made his eye appointments with GM in conjunction with visits home. The speed with which the service from appointment to receipt of new glasses/lenses is stellar, to include rush order replacement when an over-excited puppy smacked into my head and broke the stem off my glasses!

Dr. Conekin was great. Was on time and took time with me during my appointment to answer all my questions. The staff was friendly and answered any questions I had in reference to billing and insurance.

Love Family Eye Care and Dr Butler. We’ve been going here for years and my whole family loves them.

Great doctors. Been going for over a decade and have always been shown the upmost respect and courtesy.

Ordered glasses for my daughter and was told they would be in in 2-2.5 weeks, this was a month ago on May 14th. I called today and they still dont have an answer on when my daughters glasses will be in.
