Such a rip off!!! I brought stuff in today and they took a Kate spade wallet, CROCS flip flops, ASICS shoes, Maurices pants, torrid top, 2 tops, 2 sweaters, and maurices top for 27 DOLLARS. And everything was like new condition. I am.not happy and will not be back. The Kate spade wallet itself is worth way more than 27 dollars. I highly recommend not bringing your stuff to them and just selling it yourself on facebook because this place absolutely sucks!!!

Only positive thing about this place is the owner. The staff itself are unbelievably rude. Multiple occasions I’ve had negative experiences with them, and I know some of my friends have had bad experiences with the staff as well. It’s worth the travel to Jacksonville to sell your clothes or buy from them because the Sav location is NOT it. Will not be coming back here again.

I wanted to leave a good review for this place as I like the owner and always do fair business with her. She gives me very reasonable offers on the designer purses I bring into the store. The workers however undervalue your items every single time. Purses are paid out at 50% of the online price they are being sold at. The workers just offered me $30 for a purse that is on two separate websites. One website has it listed at $135 and the other is listed at over $200. Now Im no mathematician here but $30 is not 50% of $131 and it sure as heck isnt 50% of 200. Also, the employee with the blonde curly hair always has a nasty attitude. Its quite unpleasant And I probably wont be returning because of that.

They are never open and always short staffed.

The workers are very nice and I like the concept of the store but the woman at the cash register was not wearing a mask. Not in the back away from people, not hanging up clothes, checking people out she was not wearing a mask. Do better.

Love this place! Always come in and find sweet deals on Coach Michael Kors Kate Spade bags… Originally priced at $300 sold for around 50 bucks. Awesome deals on shoes, jewelry, and athletic stuff.The ladies that work there Lauren and Taylor, are sweethearts and always very helpful and welcoming. They update their stuff pretty regularly too so there’s always fun new merchandise. Definitely recommend this place.

I had a good experience here. There was a staff member there who helped me. I dont remember her name but I do remember her telling me that she moved to Georgia about a year ago from Wisconsin. I just moved to Georgia from up North also so I could relate to her. She had a friendly attitude. I like the item selection there also. They took all of my items that I brought in with me :-) I used it for store credit and got a dress and bracelet. Very fashionable store with decent prices!

Great shopping experience! You can try clothes on but if you want to sell things you need to make an appointment. Also, sometimes they do need to close early so call ahead if youre planning on going at the end of the day to double check their hours because they do not always update their Facebook page with early closing times.

On trend & cute clothing at a good price point & accessories are in good condition, super helpful workers!

I would like to start off by saying- this review is based off my experience on 08/31/20 this is NOT about their policies, passing on clothes, or the general company. This is 100% about the unwelcoming atmosphere and what I experienced. I’ve sold with this store before and had a pleasant experience a few years back. Had great customer service, nice employees that explained the process and had a nice pay-out (despite selling winter items in the spring!) Awesome surprise! Decided to use the store credit instead of cash. Well, fast forward a few years later- I had a lot of Name Brand summer clothes (Revolve, Who What Wear, Odille, American Threads, Sam Edelman etc.) that didn’t get a lot of wear and thought I might as well see if Clothes Mentor would take them! I packed up my stuff in a small laundry basket and headed over- I was greeted with a rude look and a “Do you have an appointment?” No, I did not- which was 100% my fault because I did look later and realized they do tell you you need an appointment now due to covid. No problem! I politely said no I’m sorry do I need to come back later and make one? The lady I dealt with said no since there is nothing going on I could take them now. I was told it would be 20 minutes so after running some errands I headed back after I received my text that it was ready. I walked back in with no greeting and the two ladies too busy with conversation to notice I was there. Finally after getting their attention, I was told that none of my clothes were going to be accepted due to the small sizes (small and medium) and the condition of my shoes (only worn maybe 2 times) Again, this is not about their policies- I totally get that they have too much inventory of one thing or another. But I would recommend that when you call to make your appointment, definitely let them know what sizes and season you are bringing in! All in all, I think it’s a cute store and you could find some good gems! However, the customer service needs some work and if you’re selling name brand items I think you will have more luck on Poshmark.

I was so excited to find such a great variety of inventory in plus sizes! I especially like the way the clothes are organized (grouped by item type and arranged by size). I found some awesome new pieces for about a third of what I would have paid at my usual shopping spots. The employees were all helpful and friendly. I cant wait to see whats new next week!

I recommended this place to my mom and she just texted me her awful experience. She was told she needed an appt to sell due to covid yet neither of the employees working at the store were wearing masks... so how worried about covid can they really be? When my mom asked about the masks she was told she was being a Karen - youve got to be kidding me. How rude and unprofessional can you be to call a guest at your store a Karen? They also told her the owner was going to ve made aware so my mom could be banned from the store. For asking about a mask? Shes mortified. Will definitely never recommend this place to anyone or ever return.

I love this store! I cant believe I havent been in sooner. The clothes are nicely arranged, easily accessible, and great quality. The staff was super helpful and accommodating as well. I will definitely be coming back!

I had a not so hot experience today, with a VERY rude staff member after I informed her very politely that the sign outside was wrong after she turned away my reusable bag... Super disheartening considering I shop and sell here often and love the selection. I will most definitely be taking my business elsewhere from now on... very unprofessional!

I had a great experience here! My first time ever going to a Clothes Mentor and they were so friendly and helpful. I made sure to go in during their buying hours and bring in my clothes in a duffle bag (or you could use another container). I brought in clothes and accessories to sell and I was actually shocked at how much they offered! It was way more than I thought it would be.I also was surprised at the amount of good quality clothes and shoes they had in stock. Lots of options for the fall and winter season, and even a decent sized plus size selection.I was so pleasantly surprised by my experience there! I will definitely return to shop and maybe sell more clothes in the future.

I had a wonderful Experience shopping here and I didnt think I would since there is mostly ladies items but I found a work bag at a really great price. And my fiance found plenty of great clothes and a couple purses.

As a previous employee at Clothes Mentor I can say that it was a great experience working here. I got along with most of the other staff and owner. It’s a shame some people who worked here took to social media to complain about the repercussions of them not doing their job. After they were talked to several times about their behavior and work ethic. The owner and manager are more than fair and reasonable. They just ask that you do the job they’re paying you to do. I’d definitely work here again. ❤️

Arriving at store the store associates weren’t inviting, faces twisted and no initial greeting. Store atmosphere wasn’t welcoming. I highly doubt they attempted to look through clothing. First and last time visiting. Better off donating to Goodwill or Salvation Army, save you time and energy.Update; Thank you Lynn for your timely response. They are so ghetto in here. I was shocked. You think a chain establishment would have reputable people working here but no chance here. I’m sure they would hire anyone. This is my favorite store to shop at! The prices are affordable and the clothing is top quality. I shop here 1-2 times weekly and each and every time Ive been in Ive received nothing but respect and professionalism.If you really want to find cute and affordable clothing, shoes purses, etc., then this is the place to shop at.

Clothes is fine and prices ok, but if you want to sell something to them, be careful! They offer nothing, maybe $1 dollar for your stuff, and also they lie, you can see they sell brands like Vera Bradley, but when you want to sell some for them they say they don’t accept that because they don’t sell that brand .... ?? To be honest, I had a bad experience with them.

Kate and Erica and all the gals are always super nice, helpful and friendly! Store is always super organized, everything easy to find. I’ve never left empty handed!

I always have a great experience shopping here. They play upbeat music, the attendants are friendly, everything is color coordinated, and they have a ton of designer bags. My only regret is that I can only shop on Saturdays, since they are open from 10-6 (not that thats their fault!) Still my go-to shop in Savannah.

I have sold here more times than bought. How much they will take is very hit or miss, but I think the store is usually pretty full to begin with. Pretty good customer service, and quick.

This store is under new ownership and the owner and her employee were helpful and very pleasant to work with. They have a nice selection of clothing at the normal prices you would find in other Clothes Mentor stores. I would definitely come back if I was in the Savannah area.

Nice shopping environment, great selection ( especially plus size!!!). I took away one star for changing closing time...not too convenient for 8 to 5 folks, but they wont throw you out or give you the stank face if you make it in at 5:40ish😎

I can always find popular name stores and designer items in this store. The prices are very reasonable. They have plus size items that are just right for me.

I was in the store earlier in the week and upon checking out I grabbed an information card by the register. I checked it and the website and was assured the store bought clothes on Sunday. I drove two and a half hours to sell lots of clothes. When I arrived at the store I was informed they don’t buy clothes on Sunday and the young girl behind the counter was very nonchalant when I explained this and said “oh well, sorry”

Sold them a nike shirt and Christian dior watch, & offered me $7 in total. The watch is worth thousands of dollars yet I get 7 ? Even at the lowest i can get 50$ . Couldve sold it on my own and got way more. A waste of time . I drove a hour to come to them, wont be coming back and will tell everyone who tries to come here.

Well i havent been here a month yet..... I thought everthing was good.... So all of a sudden i look at the schedule and im not on it.... So i text my manger Erica.... She tells me to text the owner lynn. I called the owner lynn.... No answer.... So i texted her Sunday..... She tells me im terminated..... ....then tells me if i want to know why she will call me Monday..... Monday comes no call. Tuesday comes no call.... So i texted her... No response..... Then i texted her about my final check no answer.... She texts me today so she can cashapp me my final check.... I still dont why i was let go... And through text... So unprofessional... Never good. Lynn is rude and i will never shop here again....

Ive shopped at this store on several occasions and while my shopping experience has been satisfactory (i.e. reasonable prices and friendly staff) the selling aspect in my opinion falls short within reason.According to the rules of this company and I quote, We price items at about 1/3 of the original retail and then we will offer you roughly around 25-30% of that.So on the day I took my items to sale,  I made sure I did all my research first.I looked up the times and days they take in items.I looked at the list of brands they were looking for,  I even made sure the clothes were in good condition (actually none of them had been worn and several still had tags on them) then I gathered my items, placed them in a reusable bag (which is one of their guidelines) and went in fully expecting not to get rich, but at least have enough to buy lunch for me and my two children.Well, was I in for a surprise.The intake process was quick, rules that I already knew were explained, paperwork was signed explaining that I understood the rules and I was informed that they would contact me as soon as my order was ready.About 30 minutes later, I received a text. My order had been processed and I could return to the store at my earliest convenience.Out of the 13 items I brought in, only three were rejected.  Good sign right? Not really. For 10 items, several with tags still on...I was offered $10 cash or $12.00 and some change for an in store credit! For the cash offer, that was a mere $1 per item!One of the skirts alone retailed at $60 so according to their rules, even at the lowest I should have received $4.80 to $5 for that piece.. .and at least $1.40 to $2.00 per blouse since the blouses retailed at $17.To be fair, I could have rejected their offer but since I had already promised my children a much anticipated lunch date, I took the $10 and left.So my advice is this, sellers beware! Although the store offers reasonably priced name brand items for the public, dont expect the same reasonable amount when selling your clothes.If you choose to sell your gently worn or never before worn items here, keep this in mind: calculate what you expect is within reason and then lower it considerably.Edit: 11/8/2019 This review was written about 2 months ago but I noticed that it was never posted publicly. If I can’t give 0 stars I would. This place is awful! I came in with a plastic Walmart bag and they told me that they couldn’t take it unless it was reusable bag. That’s something you should mention on sign before you enter the store or something but okay. The employees were rude. Then after buying a reusable bag so they can just look at my clothing, they told me they couldn’t buy anything because my clothes were outta style. Idk how a plain blue thin shirt isn’t in style for summer in Savannah GA. They weren’t trying to buy from me from the start. I’m never coming back again!

The manager or owner is so rude and unprofessional. The way she looked at me while telling me they stop accepting clothes at 4pm was enough for me to never step foot in there again. I was trying to explain that I cant make it by 4 and was going to see if they could make an exception because I have some really nice Michael Kors stuff just sitting in my closet but she wont even listen. Worst customer service experience I have ever had.

This is the worst employment experience ever, ladies please be fully aware! These women are inconsiderate, inconsistent, rude, racist, & just downright unprofessional. I’m definitely filing a complaint against the owner & the manager. This store really needs to be shutdown, because it’s not benefiting anybody.

They’re are rude, unreasonable, lack common sense... don’t give you hardly anything back for items brought in. Tags could be on it and never worn as well as name brand and they still low ball you. They are nice nasty!

This place seems to be very unprofessional I’ve drove there and they tell me they can not buy any clothes so I accept that... they told me to come the next day and I called to make sure because I already waisted gas (40 min drive) the first time. I call them and then they say “oh we aren’t accepting today but you can come tomorrow” so then when I am about to come I decided to call just to make sure and they once again tell me to come back the next day, like I’m confused do they buy clothes or not?

Good atmosphere, didnt purchase any clothes that we brought in even though some of them were almost new. Wont be coming back

So lets start off with how they are rude. They can not update their website. If you cant do a job then hire more people. Everyone wants to work. School is now out, people need community service hours. Help others and you will get the business. If your information was updated people would know when to come instead of wasting gas and time. Platos closet was closed and this place sucks. Most likely gonna keep old cloths now. Never coming here again!!

Second visit to store and Ive purchased 2 pair of brand new shoes at a very low price. Nine West shoes brand new no marks on the bottom. I wish there was a store in Pooler...😔💙💙

This store is not good. It is obvious because they are the only shop that buys used clothing that they have attitude and poke fun as limit their buying hours and selection to the eleventh degree rigidly. It would be luck of the draw. If you like humiliation drive 3 hours from Charleston like I did in the heat only to be turned away.. They dont realize they lose business that way because I always buy more than I sell.

Why buy used clothes here when you can get the exact same prices down the street from TjMaxx or Marshalls for brand new?Please state what clothes youre looking to purchase so hopeful sellers may stop wasting their time.

I give this place two stars because the clothes and items are good quality, but the customer service of the staff that day was horrible. There was an African-American woman with short, bleach blonde hair and a Caucasian woman there that were supposed to be assisting me, but they were of NO help. I walked up to the counter to pay for my items and the Caucasian woman completely ignored me and walked to the register facing the door. The African-American woman looked at me like I was crazy. They said nothing. Therefore, I spoke up and asked if anyone was going to ring me up. The African-American woman pointed at the Caucasian woman who walked off from me and told me that she can take me at that register. If I had decided to walk out of the store without paying for the items, would that have gotten their attention?! Is it not frequent, paying customers like myself that help them stay in business and working? Anyway, as the Caucasian woman was ringing me up, she placed my shoes (unboxed) in the same bag as my clothes. I took the shoes out of the bag and asked her to place them in a separate bag. A relative of mine that shops there said she notices that the Caucasian woman is nice whenever the other staff working with her that particular day are nice, but whenever someone like the rude, blonde African-American woman is working with her, her behavior is similar to that of hers. It seems like this woman does not know how to have a mind of her own and just treat people friendly as she should. If I have a similar experience the next time I go back, I will speak with management/corporate.10/31/2019 - I went to the store a couple of weeks ago to sell some items, and when I went back to the store to collect the items or the money if they took the items I was told that theyre fully stocked now and are not accepting any more items. Why did they not tell me this when I dropped the items off instead of wasting my time having me come back to tell me then after they rummaged through my items? Unless the real reason was because there was nothing that they wanted, and if so, they should have stated what it really was instead of wasting peoples time because this can turn a person away from coming back at all.

Very nice and chic clothing in various styles. A bit pricey but the clothes are mostly brand name if youre into that.

One of the worst businesses in the city of Savannah. The employees have no professional experience and are extremely rude. There is a sign on their door stating they are only taking clothes from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. because of their high volume - I showed up two times before noon to only get turned away because they have already hit their maximum volume! Not only did I get turned away, but the rude lady did not even offer a solution to avoid this from happening to me for a THIRD time. Unbelieve. Unfortunately, there is no Platos Closet in Savannah - they give you MUCH more money for your items. I highly reccomend selling your items on Poshmark or Vinted. AVOID this place! Do not give them your business!

First time going into the establishment because of a friend told me about it. Wanted to resale some clothes and I would have but the service that I received was horrible only in the store for two minutes and I walked out. Would never go into this store again.
