Review №1

I drove down from Washington NC to look at a boat which I had been interested in and had been communicating with owner about via email and phone. I was very serious about making this purchase. My first impression on arriving at the site was bad. It looked like a boat junk yard with hand painted sign on the side of a dilapidated building. Met owner, who seemed friendly enough. The boat I was looking to purchase was on trailer in middle of yard ready for my inspection. Several items did not function: GPS, several instruments, antenna broken, drawer handles broken. Motor started, but quickly overheated as the cooling water would not circulate and exit motor as expected. He said that he had just replaced the water pump. He quickly called his mechanic who said that the motor needed to warm up before water would exit motor? Not true. We tried this and within minutes the temperature alarm signaled, we turned motor off. I asked the owner to inspect the trailer days before my arrival to be sure lights, brakes and bearings were in order. He did not. The tail light was still out and it appeared that the bearings had not been greased as requested. In short, the boat was misrepresented and was not ready for shipment and certainly not ready for use on the water. I am particularly upset as he must have been aware of these problems, yet had me drive a significant distance wasting both my time and money to inspect a boat / trailer which was in no condition to be sold or transported safely. I would be very careful with this outfit.
