Dave and Dylan and all the guys at Able Auto are very capable and hard working. They might not always be able to get my truck in as quickly as I want (though sometimes they’ve seen me the same day!), but they are honest and fair. I appreciate that they don’t make promises that they can’t keep - which helps me manage my own expectations of timeline and cost. I feel that they really do want to help me, they’re kind and compassionate too. I trust them and will continue to take my vehicles to them. Thank you!

Able Auto was absolutely amazing! While on vacation our check engine light came on and we had trouble with our diesel particulate not clearing out. After calling around to several shops that were booked out 1-2 weeks, Kevin was an absolute rockstar! He helped us out in the parking lot because the shop was full at the time. He had us fixed up and ready to go within the hour! Needless to say Kevin and Able Auto saved our vacation and ensured we could get back home to Colorado! Thank you guys so much. Excellent service. We were on a family trip from Texas, and had “brake” problems. Able Auto (Dave) got us in and fast service! Got the parts in less than 30 minutes.. and got us back on the road in 2 hours. Very friendly, too. Reasonable, honest work. Actually, best mechanics we have ever had.. wish we had Able Auto down in Texas.

Uuuh, just trying to get in contact. Was told 2 days ago that someone would get back to me about my transmission but nobody has. Tried to call back but I dont have a remote access code to leave a message. The Facebook doesnt exist anymore and there is no website.

Called multiple places who were unable to look at my Subaru same day. Dave gave me a time slot to come by later in the day. Dropped in to have a couple things checked, he listened to me and promptly put the car on the rack to inspect. Dave was honest and transparent. Highly recommend Able. Came in to get a check engine light scanned and was very pleased with the service. It was a small issue that didnt need immediate attention and they recommended a simple fix that I could do. Thanks again guys!

I dropped my Suburban off at Able Auto this morning to have the U joints replaced. Two hours later they called and told me that the U joints were still good and that it was ice and gunk build up that was causing my car to shimmy and shake. They said they cleaned it all out and drove it around and it was driving smooth again. When I picked it up I tried to pay them for their time and they wouldn’t take any money. I will definitely be taking my vehicle to Able Auto in the future.

This shop did a same day repair for us while we were on vacation in Jackson. They didnt try to sell us anything we didnt need: they just diagnosed the problem and fixed it. Im very grateful for honest mechanics like these guys.

Dave at Able Auto is a straight-forward, honest mechanic that you can trust. He had my car diagnosed and fixed within a few days. He was even able to troubleshoot a few issues to save me a bunch of money. Im very happy that I have someone in the area that I can trust. Hes definitely won my loyalty!

Only reasonably priced mechanic in town, and they stand by their work; unlike the crooks at Teton Motors. Loved my experience with them.

We totally busted a lug nut just before starting out Teton Crest backpacking trip. Once we were out, we still needed to fix the lug nut to drive home. Two other tire places said they couldn’t do it the same day. Able Auto fixed us though! They saved our souls. 10/10. Would recommend.

Honest and friendly.While visiting from out of town, needed a repair done within 24 hours. Called seven shops in high season (summer) and all had between 3-8 days wait. Able Auto had me bring it by instantly, looked at it, quoted it, had the part over-nighted from salt lake city and was driving the next day. Very happy!

Weve been on a long road trip coming from Michigan and when we got to Jackson we noticed a transmission leak. Gave these guys a call and stopped in Tuesday afternoon. They were straight to the point, no bull, upfront and honest. Dave gave us some simple advice for stopping the leak until they could service us on Thursday. Came back Thursday morning for an oil change and they briefly checked on the trans leak, said it looked fine for now, and sent us on our way. Straightforward prices and service was quick. Able Auto was refreshing to do business with after dealing with sketchy shops who just want an extra buck.

Dave is a great guy and he really cares about his employees and his customers. Has one of the lower labor rates in Jackson too. Drop off appointments work the best since he is always super busy.

My son was on his way from from being on the Staff at a scout camp for the summer and had gone with a few others on a Teton hike before heading home. He was heading home to Utah and had a Wheel stud break off. Called a number of places (it was after 3pm) and no one was willing to look at it till Tomorrow or Maybe next week. Call Able Auto and talk to Dave. Could tell he was busy but told me to go ahead and have them stop by. He had it fixed quick and got them on their way. My son and the others thought he was great, SUPER NICE, and helpful. THANKS DAVE, for help my son out. Honest as the day is long, I love giving these guys my keys and telling them to do what needs to be done, knowing they will not make stuff up or rip me off.

We had a service engine soon light appear on our trip. Stopped at a few places to see about a diagnosis...were referred to Able Auto. Really helpful, even though they were obviously busy. Checked out our code and reset the computer in about 5 minutes!

We have used most of the shops in Jackson and Wilsonover the past 40 years. A few of them are simply terrible depending upon who did the job. Able took care of my daughter and a foreign visitor this Christmas with a complicated problem in a late model Volvo. My daughters91 toyota would sometimes not crank. I figured it was an expensive ignition problem. It was just the starter contacts and Dan and the men at Able could have thrown in a $200 starter+ labor but instead they rebuilt it for a fraction of that and had her out the door for half that which included the labor. Very sharp and whats more very nice people with unquestioned competence. The Volvo was a complicated issue but they took care of that with overnight parts delivery. My foreign friend was very pleased. These guys are ethical and intelligent and if you are an out of town stranger afraid of being taken to the cleaners with auto repairs, consider no other shop.

About a year ago I took my honda in for a timing belt change simply and stated I only wanted that no extras. They over charged me for poor service and only had excuses to give. I called on a Friday asked for an appointment for Monday. The man said Sounds good, bring her in so I brought it in on that Monday was told it would take a day and Id have it back. I call the next day they told me I had not set an appointment and theyd get me in the next day. The next day I called and they said oh we bought the wrong kit we sent it back we will get it done tomorrow. The next day ect. we didnt get to it the next day finally done! With double the price it should have been. I thought Id never go back until recently, my spouse hit a rock in the canyon and ended up poping two tires and cracking two rims. Unfortunately ending up having to go back to able auto, due to the fact they had the tools to do an alignment on a bmw, and we were recommended by Big O. After work I ended up calling 2 times to figure out if I should just head home or wait in town for it to be done, which I was told early Wednesday, I was told to come get the vehicle and that he was not going to do it. Upon pulling up I witness the head ( bald short guy with glasses )mechanic violently slam the door to the driver seat and walk off. I then pulled in and he turned around and began yelling at me Get the hell out of here. Grab your car and go. If you step any further you will be trespassing. I will citizens arrest you and have the police come. I was extremely compliant and calm even tho I wanted to pop off. Realizing I was on his property however I did not take action. I hope the word gets out there able auto is a dirty business and I have had multiple people tell me that they have either been ripped off or lied to along with poor service by these people

Able auto gave me outstanding service. I went in for a breakjob, tune up, and a few loose bolts replaced. There was an issue with the breakjob repair work. Once I contacted them they were more then willing to look at the issue I was having after their repair. I dropped the car off for the day. When I called to get the diagnoses and possible estimates for repair. They said come pick up the rig. No cost and previous repair was corrected. Im a seasonal wrker and limited funds in the fall and useally in need work done to get my rig prep for the long winter here. So I appreciated their honesty with the situation Thankyou Guys! I will def keep using them in the future.

Ive been taking my vehicles to Able Auto for years--first a Subaru, which is one of their specialties, and more recently a VW Eurovan, which is not. Ive never had a bad experience with them, and on more than a few occasions theyve simply handed the vehicle back over to me and told me that what I thought had been a problem wasnt a problem at all. Theyre competent, honest, pleasant, and quick. I brought the VW to the local expert at first (Shervins), only to find that while they might have been competent, they were neither honest nor pleasant. Despite the fact that Eurovans were not exactly Able Autos specialty, theyve done the same good work with that brand that they had done with the Subi. I wont take my car anywhere else.
