Our experience at Kismet Fine Rugs was exceptional! We worked with both Mina and Jeff in the store in Jackson while we were on vacation. They were both very personable and knowledgeable. We purchased a rug for under the dining table but when we got home we found out it was going to be too small. I called and told them not to ship the rug. I sent pictures of our home and then FaceTimed with Jeff and he helped me select great rugs for the great room and entry. Jeff and Mina both helped with the final selections and we ended up getting 4 awesome rugs! Dan was coming to our area for other business and brought our rugs and helped get them where they needed to be. Super great service! We love the rugs and feel like we have new friends! Prices were very competitive, and the owner was very knowledgeable and professional. About a week later I decided to buy a rug I saw there, and at the very reasonable price that was quoted to me. No high pressure, and very good service once I decided to actually buy the rug I had seen. I would definitely do business with Kismet again.

As far back as I can remember, Oriental rugs were on the floor of my grandmother’s apartment in Berlin. At age 14, with my little sister in tow, I walked a small bazaar in a coastal town in Turkey. I sought out the rug merchant. As we entered, I confidently told my 8 year-old sister, these are Persian rugs. The merchant let out a slow sigh and invited us in. He served us tea and patiently explained the difference between a Turkish rug and a Persian rug (knotting technique, design etc). He was gracious and kind. He did not talk down to us. With my allowance, I bought a little Kilim, but only after haggling (surprising him), which I had seen my mother do countless times in similar situations. As we left, he thanked me repeatedly; a lesson in poise and commerce from a rug merchant in Turkey. Kismet.Fast forward 44 years. I have purchased rugs at Sothebys and on Le Brea in LA, occasionally “having paid for my rug education” – having paid dear. As such, I am a bit more aware walking into a rug merchant these days and have not bought anything in years.But in life there is always Kismet.Jeff and his wife Mina run Kismet, the primary rug merchant in Jackson Hole. He is an intense, bright, charismatic, energetic, driven member of the community, who clearly does not suffer fools. Mina poised, calm, watchful and supportive.Boy, does he know his rugs....I have rarely seen an inventory of the quality and range found there. He knows his stuff and has a good eye for how the rug will work in your space, but even more so, a sense as to how the rug will work with your personality. He enthusiastically came to our new house and unrolled rugs, refusing any assistance; we bought 2 large antique area rugs, and a runner after a few days of back and forth. Then, two days later, 7 smaller area rugs within 30 minutes, as our basis of understanding had been set.I am confident we will continue to work together.So, go in knowing the inventory is exceptional and he will take the time to find the right rug for you and your space, engaging in a delightful, sometimes intense, but deliberate conversation throughout the process.....

We have known Jeff for a number of years as hes an active member in the local community. We recently visited India and spent a half day at a rug store in Jaipur. We were surprised about the high tourist prices in India and we found that Jeffs prices were equal or less to what we were quoted in India. After a somewhat pushy experience in India, it was a pleasure to explore Jeffs store and we ended up finding a run that was equal in quality to what we saw in Jaipur but less expensive.

Kismet had an incredible inventory. I was able to find exactly the fine rug we needed for each room. The process is very helpful. I would select 5-6 choices and take them to our Cabins to obtain the perfect choice.Our family has owned a gift and antique shop for 50 years. I’ve shopped for similar oriental and kismet rugs in both India and Turkey. Amazingly, Kismet’s prices are just as good as buying in the country where they are made or maybe even lower.The service was also excellent. I worked with salesman Maxima and the owner Jeff Neishabouri and they were extremely helpful.

Recently my wife and I were in the market for a couple contemporary style rugs. I always thought Kismet was a top notch rug store, but I also did not think that a contemporary style was in their inventory and I was apprehensive not knowing the pricing range. We obviously had never been in Jeffs and Minas store because they had a very large selection of all styles and even the harder to find sizes. Jeff took great care of us with and gave us great advice regarding sizing decisions. His prices were extremely competitive as well. All in all it was a great experience and we have two new and gorgeous rugs in our home now. Thank you Jeff and Mina.
