Car Toys has been and still is the go-to place for professional car audio advice, products and installation. We upgraded a 2003 Tahoe with modern head unit with back-up camera and are extremely happy with it. We also had them fix a peeling tinted window...now perfect!

I went to have audio upgraded and the installed drilled thru my firewall to run the power line for the amp but he drilled right into my ECM and I had to have my Jeep taken from Cartoys on a tow truck and brought to a mechanic shop. I have not driven my Jeep since Cartoys touched it. The part is hard to find and pricey. IF I can even get the part it’ll be weeks without my vehicle!!! Plus all the time I’m now spending trying to track down the part. You wanna make things right?!? Give me the $30,000 I have invested in the Jeep because now I have a un drivable vehicle because of your employee!

I am very disappointed in my experience. If I could give no stars I would. I had heard great things about car toys and decided to purchase a start remote alarm for my vehicle, I saw it qualified for a free installation in stores. I went into car toys and they told me it needed another part to install and all work together. They told me with that part I had purchased online my car would start but turn off as soon as the door would open. They told me they’d refund me what I had already bought and told me to upgrade to the whole pack system. I bought it since they are the supposed experts. They installed the whole pack, I paid the installation and when I picked up my car the start remote wasn’t working. I asked for a refund and was told to go to the corporate to get the full refund for the installation. I was only given the refund for the pack not the installation. I called corporate numerous times and left voicemails. I did not receive any calls back. My issue is that I was told to upgrade the remote start for it to work properly and then the issue they told me would have happened if I didn’t upgrade is exactly what happened. I was completely cheated into upgrading to a “better” remote start and it didn’t even work. And now No one is returning my calls to get a full refund. This is completely unprofessional and I would not recommend to anyone.

The staff was friendly and eager to help. However, that eagerness came off as unorganized and rushed. There were mulitple mistakes made in their bookings (for both days I visited the shop), a forgotten order for another customers dash kit, a mishap on a credit application, etc. They were able to squeeze me in the day my car was supposed to be scheduled for the installation but now Im wondering if there was a mistake when installing my new radio and camera because of the booking mishaps. The rear view camera went fuzzy the day after it was installed and the GPS malfunctions when i connect my phone...which cancels out the entire reason I got the radio in the first place: extra safety when backing up and a more conveniently sized screen when driving in unfamiliar locations... While i appreciate the staff doing what they could to fix and work through their mistakes, I will not be returning to this location due to the lack of organization I witnessed 1st hand and among other customers.

Do NOT go here. Went for a radio and back up camera. Just for radio it was $400 added the back up camera price went to $870! 2 hours later they still havent started on truck! They pulled it in told my husband they couldnt do it within 2 hours so my husband says never mind after already sitting there a hour and a half only to find they cracked the dash and tried to say it was already like that. Well guess what I took a video before we went in of the dash for this reason! Car toys will fix my dash or I will take them to court! Definitely would not refer this place to anyone! Plz save your money and go somewhere else!

I took my truck to cartoys for a reason (to get everything done right even though its really expensive ) but turns out when they put my stereo system my check engine light, brake light, abs, service 4 wheel drive and traction control lights came on. My speedometer wasn’t working and the rpms only went uo to 2000. I told them my truck didnt have any lights on and the guy who installed it was saying that the lights were already on when he pulled my truck in, which i and he knows he was lying. They were trying to find things to blame it on, until i kept telling them it wasn’t like that. They found a cut wire where he cut a piece of plastic off finally and he connected it again and now everything is fine. This just shows how they were trying to say they didnt mess something up when they actually did. Now my rear view camera is fuzzy and they’re saying it wasnt them. Not satisfied at all here. I didnt even get a discount for the inconvenience. And also my stereo turns off when its not even at high volume! I took it again and one of the guys told me that there is nothing he can do to stop my stereo from resetting at volumes like that LOL. What??!! Dont go to cartoys at Irving. Can’t believe all this that happened to me there. Very unprofessional and LIARS!!!I took it to the cartoys in Hurst and i would give them a 5 star review, they helped me and fixed my stereo and my rear view camera without telling me i needed a amplifier like the people in irving did. And they were very helpful and professional.

My experience with car toys at the irving location on 183 and beltline was not good. I went there to purchase a camera system in my car, i ask the employee that was servicing me once the camera system is installed could someone explain how it to operate the system. I was told sure we will help you. Once it was installed and payed for i ask if someone could walk me through how it works, i was then told the instructions are not the box. Very poor customer service, i then went to the person that installed the camera system he closed the door on me, never will i purchase from car toys again, i would never recomend car toys to anyone..

Bought a pair of kicker speakers after testing what sound I liked in the booth. Matt installed them flawlessly and even went above and beyond to correct loose wire connections he noticed in my existing system with me even asking. Kyle and Kay are amazing. Customer service is impeccable and quality is stellar. I had an Escort 360 CI, speaker and amp with custom trunk build, Thinkware F800 pro (front and rear) with backup battery installed. All wires and major components are very cleanly tucked out sight. Components needing to be seen look stock. Ive had a couple of adjustments to account for personal taste, theyve done so without question or petty charges. Amazing job guys.

If you need anything light related done, go here. Ask for Garrett because he did custom fabrication of brackets and a switch to unite 3 separate kits for headlights, underglow, and interior lighting. He told me step by step what he was doing and made sure everything was safe and will last. The best place to go for lighting by far!

Editing my initial response. This place used to be awesome 2 years ago when I first started going and poking around. Even spent a few thousand dollars between the 2 cars I have, and my girlfriends car. Since then, this place has really taken a bad turn. For the most part the management staff up front is friendly, knowledgeable and does a good job as a retail store. The install side of the shop is where Ive had a couple major issues. A custom sub box that took several weeks to complete because the custom carpet I ordered for mine was used on another project, which they then wrapped in the wrong color hoping I wouldnt notice, and then never called me once the correct carpet did come in, delaying the finishing of the project considerably. This was a while ago, so I decided to give them another shot. Got halfway through a project and didnt have enough time to complete it before going on a trip, so I thought Id have them finish the speaker install and button up the panels that I had left off so they didnt have to remove them again. They installed the speaker, but didnt put the panels back as requested. After inquiring about this the install manager indicated that it wasnt part of his job to put the panels back in since he hadnt removed them, regardless of the fact that I had requested them to do it. After stating that I wouldnt pay the price I agreed on since the job I had requested wasnt finished, he told me hed lock my truck in the shop until I paid. The other manager on staff ended up discounting the job, but the fact remains that no customer should be treated that way over a very reasonable request. Personally, Ill be taking my business elsewhere for the foreseeable future, theres too many audio shops in DFW to reward this one for truly awful customer service with any more of my hard-earned money. Ill give it to a shop thats true to their word, and understands that partially complete jobs come with partial payment.

I came in to the store close to closing time after having somehow reset my car stereo to factory original settings. The music sounded like what you would get with a base model car. Alex and one of the techs, Lewis, came out and spent about 30 minutes making adjustments to restore my system to the excellent sound I was used to. Alex even paired my phone and IPod (which is the problem I was having when I caused the sound issue to begin with). And all of this at no charge. Now I cant say they would have the time or resources to do this with everyone, but it goes to the heart of what customer service is all about. Whats more amazing is that I didnt even buy the system from them! Bought it in CA. A friend recommended Car Toys. I hadnt heard of them before. But any additions, accessories or upgrades I need Ill get from only one source now; Car Toys in Irving. Thanks Guys!

I unfortunately have to come to this place every month due to state requirements. I have been coming here did a little over a year now. The female manager has the worst customer service skills that I have ever experienced not only does she treat customers with contempt, she openly treats her staff like they are stupid. As a business owner myself I know your employees are your most valuable asset, she definitely doesnt understand this.Update: Store under new management and I have to say the attitude in the store is an absolute about face from the way things used to be everyone seems much happier to be at work and the Manager is not only engaged with customers but treats his staff like the assets they are!

I have been to other locations and this by far is my favorite! The manager is nice and patient with my car questions. The service is very quick! (I had to wait 5 minutes at the other location to be acknowledged, then another 30 minutes for them to finish the paperwork and give me my car back).

Very shoddy work, had to come back to replace a whole surface of the interior that they scuffed badly. A simple screen install led to extreme carelessness on their end. In addition to scratching my interior horribly, they left wires loose and hanging in numerous areas. The manager wanted to charge me $150 to drill a hole in the glove compartment in order to route the usb wire lol. He said if not, the wire will just run through the side of the glove compartment with it not being able to close properly. I chose the latter and to my “surprise”, it was able to be simply ran through a different crevice which required no drilling! I was highly disappointed as this was my first experience with car toys.

This was a complete waste of time and money. The detailing job was definitely not worth the amount specified as the value nor was it worth the Groupon discounted rate. I could have taken my car somewhere else and received a better detailing job without a Groupon. I will not recommend the detailing service at Car Toys and after the service I received, I would not recommend Car Toys. 0 star service!

Went a while back to drop off truck to get a back up camera and new radio, dropped it off Saturday morning came back that evening and nothing had been done. I left the truck one more day and came back late Sunday afternoon and STILL NOTHING! Needless to say I was pretty upset, no phone call to say they would not be able to get to it or nothing, I gave it more time to see if anyone would reach out and NOTHING! So I decided to let Corporate know how they totally dropped the ball on this one. Long story short, apparently theres a new batch of folks who actually understand how to communicate and care about the customers needs. Kyle and the new crew are on top of it and made me an offer I couldnt refuse. If any of you had a similar experience a while back, dont hesitate to give this location another try. Its a whole new ball game.

I recently took my boat (2007 Malibu) to Car Toys for an audio overhaul. From beginning to end I worked with Ronny who was absolutely fantastic to deal with. We looked over the existing install with the installers and reviewed all of my options. They were upfront as it relates to pricing, product needed, and what I would expect.They made every attempt to re-use any component of the system to help keep costs down which was important to me. I took the boat out yesterday and the entire family was very impressed with the sounds that we were able to enjoy. The 12 sub hits HARD and the WetSounds speakers throughout the cabin and on the tower just sound clear and plenty loud.I would not hesitate to take my business back to Car Toys, thoroughly impressed with all aspects of my experience with them since I walked in the door a week ago today!

I bought a handful of stuff for my 2012 F-150 with help from the store manager Kyle Harris. I was originally just updating speakers and maybe an amp/sub combo. Kyle had me listen to different options and ended up getting a 5 channel 500W Kenwood amp and 10 Kenwood sub with Kicker 2-way coaxial speakers part #44KSC6804. He then told me about a few other items from Stinger and an audio level converter. Had it scheduled for install the following week. Kyle was extremely helpful and did not up sale anything. I spent more than I originally planned but so glad I did. Love the new sound and dont regret a thing. Thanks for all the great help. Highly recommend this location.

Took my 2004 Chevy and updated the radio, speakers, and cleaned my headlights. I came in for a radio only. They asked a lot of questions and sat in my car with me talking about sound, how I used everything, and found a perfect solution with an Apple Car Play radio, JL Audio speakers.Ill be back for a subwoofer soon. The demonstration they gave me of life with or without one was convincing. I just needed to save more money.Great crew. We laughed a lot and they seem genuinely interested in every customer. Do not go to this place the reviews are scams.Most of the 5 starts reviews has only one review.Kyle the mgr was the one who checked our 2017 Toyota Camry XLE leather seats. Luis Colon was the one who did the horrible job on the vehicle. We purchased the signature interior and exterior for $357.11 after taxes.My invoice number is: 05229IRKKPU the car was checked in at 10 am on Wednesday 5/22/19 and we were told to come and pick up at 6 pm. we told HIM we will pick it up on Thursday at 10 am. We picked up the car and I asked Kyle if he thought the leather seats were detailed as it appeared they were not touched. He said yes of course and he was there with the guys working on the car and they even were trying to find a dirty spot and one of them said busted cup holders.I took the car and on Friday I asked some of my friends if they think the car has been detailed or if they can see any different in the interior. Not a single person noticed any change in the inside. I showed them pictures from before and after and we can tell they were not even touched.One of my friends advised me to buy Meguiars Gold Glass Rich leather cleaner and test it myself. I just added a little of it and you can tell it was not even touched.I went back on Saturday and talked with Kyle and showed him what the $10 bottle can do. He had the car detailed from the inside. I got the car and guess what, the armrest and the cup holder in the back seats were skipped. I did not even bother to say anything as it was so clear to me they are after your money NOT for a long term returning customers.I recommend spending your money somewhere else.Do not let Kyle fool you with his selling techniques!See the pictures below before you waste your time and money!
