Very nice grocery store with fresh vegetable available time to time. Its kinda compact in size and hard to walk around in busy hours but other than that got good store. Lots of in-store restaurant food options available to carry out food and eat outside. They have take provided to sit outside. Very big parking lot available, so no issue in finding the parking ever.
Even though, this store has a lot of different products from various cuisines, it is not the best option. Some products seem old as if they were there for a very long time (dusty). Right at the entrance, we also saw some rotten fruits. Overall, the fruit/vegetable department is nice, though, because there are a lot of choices and exotics. The store is also not very clean, and isn’t super organized, but because it has so many different options, from hot meals to fresh vegetables, it is a nice place to go to buy everything you need.
Love this place. Tons of choices! Wholesome choices! But the one think I love the most about this place is they have a food court inside! I LOVE the Persian food. Its so good! If you havent been to this place, its a must go! Enjoy!
Entering this market is like going on vacation to a place youve never been before. This place is solidly packed high & tight with unusual product. Its a museum where you can purchase anything on display. You can purchase from the deli & eat outside on the patio. This is a very busy place, people are moving at a fast pace thru this market. Enjoy!
Wholesome choice is a grocery store with Persian, Mexican, etc hot food served. The bakery has baklava among others things. all types of spices and variety of products including basmati rice. There is a meat counter for fresh lamb, etc.
Dear,I lost my headphones in the store today and when paying, I asked an Iranian cashier with blond hair and glasses where I should ask about my lost headphones? He did not give me the right answer and told another Iranian customer, Do you see what questions they ask me. I was very upset with this attitude and said that I heard what you said and I should definitely ask you first. I feel sorry for the Iranians who do not have the manners and politeness because I am Iranian. Please be sure to learn customer etiquette before hiring anyone because some people have not been trained in this polite behavior in their family. Many thanksMaryam
Plenty of selection and great prices on fruits and vegetables! I also like the small food court they have in the back of the store. Good job.
The best place to shop for International groceries like Persian, Indian, Arab etc...a fantastic food court with prepared fast food of different regions, an extensive selection of sweets and a gorgeous bakery is completed with a smoothie/juice stand and my favorite, the crepe stand. oven fresh baked in front of you Iranian breads just makes this place an experience to savor.
For all our groceries needs this a perfect place.Save the trouble of going to multiple stores for different items. The other best part is their is international food court along an amazing bakery.Recently they added french crepes will try then next time i go.
Very delicious crepes freshly made from expert chefs. Variety of exotic fruits, however dont bother looking for Tamarillos as they dont carry them despite many customers who want them! They serve many styles of hot food, but this can be hit or miss...
I went and ordered Persian food from the food court. I waited 20 minutes for my food even If I was there the second one in line. You can tell the were understaffed. When I got to the office I was so disappointed by the whole chicken I ordered. So I put it aside and went for the chicken kabob order. For a moment I thought I had COVID and lost the sense of smell and taste. Absolutely bland so I asked others around the office to give it a taste 🤔same deal. Ill be back but not for Persian food.
The Wholesome Choice supermarket is incredible. It has a large variety of products from different countries. I also like the food court with their specific cuisines.
It was a pleasant shopping at the store bc I found lots of reasonably priced veggies and fruits, etc. with some are a true bargain priced for the right on time for the Summer feasts. However, I always have to be careful when Im getting out of the parking lot. There are several entrances and exits for the convenience. But you always have to concern about the pedestrians and other cars with aggressive drivers crossing without warnings and not looking out the surroundings.Otherwise, the Wholesome Choice is a truly Irvines beloved international grocery store where you could find the most of worlds best ingredients with the quality and reasonable price oriented.Overall, I enjoyed the shopping at Wholesome today!
Nice place and great prices and friendly people.
Found everything I need in order to cook Chinese food. Surprisingly fresh products even at the end of the day. variety choices of exotic food. Employees are always busy would be nice if pay some attention on the costumers.
Great prices on vegetables and meats cool food court with Middle Eastern & Asian cuisine can be over crowded with rude shoppers. Just beware to fend your cart lol
Wholesome Choice is always in my weekly grocery shopping list. The prices are very good when the items are on sale. They also have Sun - Tuesday specials. My usual items to get here are the bulk nuts (walnut, pistachio, cashew, peanut), vegetables, fruits, eggs, jams (Bonne Maman) and Malaysian parathas (roti canai - Aman brand). Make sure you check their online website for the weekly sales items before you go there.I find the employees are very friendly and able to help. They are usually able to restock the vegetable when I ask them for it. This is especially for the sales items.Parking is easy and there are always plenty of spaces available.
First time, good prices mostly, clean with plenty of employees. Early Sunday morning not busy yet, good fresh produce. SK market Santa ana comparable.
I love their fruits and vegetables quality. Always fresh and great quality. Taftoon bread is the reason I go there.
Good verity of food and reasonable price.
This grocery store had a huge selection of products at great prices. We didnt want to buy anything, but we ended up with three containers. The market is well-organized, and it is well-equipped for something practical. They also have a small eatery inside a shop that serves delicious food that can be eaten on the spot or taken away. It is well worth a visit!
They have a lot of selection here, which is awesome! prices range from fairly inexpensive to moderately priced. Workers dont know where anything is so its difficult to get help.
Wholesome Choice is the best in international foods! We love shopping here! We also love the food court are where you can get Chinese, French, Indian, Japanese, Korean, Mexican, and Persian Cuisine! Love this place and if you are ever in Newport Beach or Irvine, you need to swing by and check it out! Also, get yourself a nice hot Sangak bread too!
I love their food court inside different dishes from around the world. I love indian and Persian food that they sell. The pastries are delicious 😋 Multicultural grocery store, you can find everything you need. They have a nice patio where you can eat.
If you come here, stay away from the Persian restaurant at the food court. They are lazy, incompetent, disorganized scammers. They will make you wait in line, and then tell you that they dont open until 30 minutes later. We placed an order for some kabob and Cornish hen, then waited it for it to be ready. Turns out, they sold all the Cornish hen to people in line that we were ahead of. The food generally isnt that special either. If anything, get the Indian food. Its very good, and the shop owner wont try to pick a fight with you.
Great prices. They have everything! I also like the food court section that has a wide selection of cuisines and options to choose from.
Difference got everything I mean everything is just the help is outstanding everything is cool with mean what else to say come down and check it out for yourself is a place that is going to get you everything that you need come down if a great place
Good place.. specially veggies are always fresh!! Also we get a variety of groceries ( Asian, middle-east, American) you name it.. you get it!!!!
Awesome selection of meats and produce. Lots of yummy food booths as well. Everything is reasonably priced and fresh.
This shop has all kinds of items that other local shops don’t. Moreover prices are very pleasant. Had a great experience seeing lots of nationalities coming to get meals they miss in this country.UPD: after couple of times doing shopping there I realized the quality of products is not that good. Beef was old and chewy, vegetables r not that fresh sometimes. Cherries r cheap, but they look hybrid.
Be sure to set aside lots of times here. It’s like a maze for foodies if you like Persian foods and unique freshly bread made there.Food bars are being served so tasty and fresh. There is a crepe station, a desert station full of macaroons, Turkish delights here is incomparable.Try and wait in line for the fresh bake sangak and barbari bread. It’s to die for.
Good variety of fruits and vegetables. Good halal meat. Staff needs to be more friendly though.
Great place to find the best prices and varieties in vegetables, specially. Also a good source for international goods.
I love Wholesome Choice. Multicultural produce, something for everyone! The food court is my fav, Arman who owns the grilled fish & shwarma station is always busy & popular with customers! Food is delicious and he is a nice man. We enjoy seeing him and his staff. The ready-made persian food is delicious as well. The waiting line for persian food could be more organized with pushy people who cut in front of eachother 🙄. But other than that i love this super market and they always have everything stocked. 😁
Really good food and groceries that you cant find anywhere else.
This place is a must visit for me whenever Im in Irvine. Food is amazingly delicious and portions are really big. Everything is well organized. The only problem I see is cashiers, theyre not friendly as they should be. I guess they dont get trained for that. Even those more experienced ones are rude. Looks like they dont like their jobs. I tried multiple cashier and almost the same experience . I love the store tho, the fresh sangak bread, fresh fruits, great food and amazing assortment of pastries all under one roof. I would change it to 5 star if they improve the customer service.
Vet crowded place. They advertise themselves as a Persian market but the number of Persian products is very limited. If you are searching for a Persian market, I do not recommend this market. But as a grocery store is not bad at all.
Good iranian grocery but iranian lady works inside Persian food court and give food to customers is always mad and whenever we want tahdig she always says no .
Nice market with several international selections to choose from. Be sure to stop by try the service deli and bakery. Be sure to check the price on the items you are selecting. You may be over charged at the register for something you dont have. It happened to us and the customer behind us in line, however, the assistant store manager corrected the mistake and issued refunds to both of us.
Nice Persian owned grocery store. The vegetables and meats are beautiful. The deserts are out of this world. You can find lots of exotic fruits and products. You can also find a lot of food vendors of various cultures. I love the beautifully cooked lambs and chicken offered in the food stalls. The Asian fast food place also have passable rice noodle and other American Asian food. You should check it out.
Good international grocery store. Fruits are at great low prices.
My family and I drove down from bay area to take my daughter to UCSD and on the way stopped by to buy food and some other house hold goodies. What a mistake. Kabob bad, ghormeh zabize bad, puf paistries bad. Rice portion and stews dont match. Sad to say since Our first try Ten years ago each time we drove down to Irvine food quality has gone down. So, we wont shop there anymore, waist of time, food and money. Sham on you.
I always come here before the holidays. They have the finest variety and selection from around the world. The place is super busy but the staff is extremely helpful. I was able to find pomegranate syrup before the holidays.
Good place that offers good deals. A few weeks ago, had a negative experience. Per weekly deals, large headless Shrimp was for $3.99 on Tuesday. When we went to the store at 6PM on Tue, there were large headless shrimp on display but at a higher price ($6.99). When we asked about the deal, a staff behind the fish counter rudely replied no more at that price, no more! Made it sound like they were selling the fish at a loss for $3.99 and couldnt afford to take more loss. Times are tough, we understand, but please dont be rude to customers when all they are checking is on the weekly deals that were advertised in big/bold letters! One other staff made up for that negative experience when he immediately restocked the empty bins with some things on sale. Overall positive experience and would go back to revisit.
Prices are great and they have a nice produce section. I really like all the vegetarian choices they have
Lore vegetables and good food courts inside.
This store and its products has jail/prison substance on it. It is not right here, unsafe.
Excellent supermarket with huge variety and good prices.
Where Persian housewives go for cucumbers. And a great place for Halal meats. And takeout for family get togethers
I have been going here for many year. The store used to be much cleaner and more organized. Now it is so busy with food boxes blocking the aisles and its hard to get around people. Prices gone up while the quality of food has deteriorated. The staff are rude and unhelpful. The management doesnt care since many nationalities buy their favorite ingredients here and they are always busy. I have decided not to buy their prepared food any longer, they dont taste good or fresh and made us sick before.
The prepared food in the food court is good. I always go for Persian. The stews all have beef, and the beef has some fatty pieces that I had to spit out because of the mouthfeel, but the flavors are great and the portion is enough to share. The dried bean and rice selection in the market is fantastic, and deals on produce are comparable to Sprouts. I will continue to patronize because of the prime location just off the 405 in the heart of Irvine.
Food quality is not the same. Portions are generous. Be ready for a buuuusy store and long lines. If I didnt have little ones it probably would not of bothered me
Have been going to this market for over 10 years. It has been an invaluable resource for spices and fresh food. All the food options are amazing.
Zero customer services. If you go to this store hang your dignity at the entrance before you enter. When you ask for help, flat out they just ignore. I couldn’t believe it.
They have all the goodies...If youve been here you know how good the items are. Great groceries and great service
I love middle eastern foods. You can find a good selection here. But if you can’t read Arabic beware because of you buy something you don’t know and try to return it, they do NOU take any returns! The store’s name is in English, but not all the products have one word of English on them. Beware as many items are not cheaper.
A great diversity of choices, and delicious freshly baked bread.
Incredible international food selection and amazing bakery. Dont forget the takeout options!
Good store but need more improvement. Quality of cooked food is almost 2 star, and some of store items are more pricey than other same stores. They have good quality fresh bread .
I liked there varity of foods.
Good place to buy some basic Indian Groceries. The Food Court is good and they have some good dessert sections.Their Check-out station needs to improve to accomodate during busy hours.
International food court in the back left corner. Large variety of food including Persian, Greek, Thai, Indian, Chinese, Sushi, Sandwiches, and Crepes. At the Persian place only order from their ready made items like their stew, dont order grilled things like chicken Koobideh and Barg, since they are very dry and flavorless.
I love this place. I refuse to shop anywhere else.
One of my favorite food markets anywhere. Naturally fermented Sangak bread comes hot out of a stone lined rotating oven and is just heavenly. Great fresh produce section and very well priced compared to chain supermarket. Fantastic deli with fresh hot Indian, Persian, Middle Eastern and Chinese food. All very well made. Good dessert counter. Dont miss this place!
What a place to choose your dinner from literally hundreds of entrees and an equal number of desserts. And the prices are very fair for the quality and quantity. The staff were super helpful in walking thru my options as was a novice. And their prices for regular grocery items were comparable with their competition.
Great place to have indian spices, fresh vegetables, fruits, variety of flours, many items needed to prepare Indian style food
They have plenty of fresh fruits, meats, and vegetables. Besides, their store was comfortable to walk in and out, for it was big and clean. Even the cashier that entertained the groceries that I bought was very accommodating and friendly. Ill be back for sure! Thanks!
Terrific gem in Irvine for fresh and cheap produce. How do they do it?? Its incredibly competitive compared to Sprouts, Ralphs, and Whole Foods. I never get my produce anywhere else (unless Im buying organic). Wholesome Choice is also know for their traditional Persian flatbread, sangak - flavorful and amazingly fluffy, make sure to get it fresh, theres always a line waiting for it. Theres also a takeout food section within the store, cheap and filling, although I wish they included more grilled veggies instead of one sad tomato. Wholesome Choice, they put the super in supermarket!
Great store and great selection. Biggest issue is getting any assistance when something is missing. Luckily after speaking with 6 different employees we found the/a boss and he knew the answer immediately. If you dont have to take to anyone and you simply come in, buy and walk out its a five star as they have a great selection hard to find under one roof.
A perfect all stop store for everything.
Very interesting market Asian and Indian food choices and take out looks very good.
Lots of imported goods from the Middle East, low prices on non-organic produce. The store is often very crowded and the checkstands can be chaotic; people sometimes try to re-negotiate prices when they get to the cashier. Food court is to be avoided; lots of variety but none of it tastes particularly good. But the sangak - hot glutenous bread, made fresh every few minutes, is to die for.
My husband and I tried for the first time their persian kabobs. We ordered a chicken and a beef wrap. After 20-30 minutes waiting time, we received 2 super thiny kabobs wrapped in a huge persian flat bread (lavash) with some salad in it. I couldnt taste anything except the bread. Finally I had to throw the bread and the salad away to look for some protein. We left the store Disappointed and hungry 😞
Good place for fruits, vegetables.
Yes, their produce is very affordable, but the quality suffers because of it. I used to buy my produce here because it’s so cheap but I’ve noticed a disparaging gap in quality compared to other stores like Albertsons, Ralph’s, etc. I’d definitely never buy meat or chicken here. They do have a wide range of hot foods like Persian, Indian, Japanese, Chinese, and others. Even though I live so close by, I’ve found myself going farther to get groceries just due to the lack of quality. That being said, Wholesome Choice is my go to for pita bread, olives, spices, and other middle eastern non-perishables.
Very crowded inside. People not distanced from each other. Other than that, I love the prices at this store!
Terrific place to shop for anything you need, very nice and organized. From fresh vegetables and fruits to freshly made food and bakery everything is superb.
I love this grocery store. Lots of ethnic products and great variety. It does get very congested though.
Good but not all halal meat
This is one of the best supermarket in Los Angeles and low prices good quality
Love the produce and grocery variety. Does get crowded on weekends and lunch time. They have revamped freezers and refrigerated produce areas. Prices are great.
I always find what I need, and they have fresh groceries at a certain time of the day. The space is small and the lines are always long!
Like it its fresh with a low price but the store is a bit small so the social distance is hard to participate
Very crowde. No one seems to know which lane to go. Will not go here again.
The indian food is not fresh. Unfortunately
Good variety including middle eastern and Russian items...good prices on vegetables and pastries..including baklava!!
Such a unique place.
I bought Lubia polo today and it was the best lubia polo ever! My daughter loved it a lot too!
The best place for grocery, the greatest taste.
