Went there for a simple coffee 10/31/21. At the time there was not busy and no line at the register. But I have to waited about 20 minutes for the coffee and they told me that their machine was broken. Yeah, that explain the coffee I finally got was so bad: Cheap bitter tasty with little cream.

I feel like Im back in Hawaii. This is such a cute coffee shop and offers so much that you cant get regularly. I didnt eat the food, but it looks delicious, especially the spam in rice. The zebra mocha is delicious but extremely sweet. My friend got the iced latte and said it was really good as well. The staff is very sweet and the inside of the shop was very clean and cute.

I use to love this place but recently i has been annoying why dont you teach your employees how to make some of things like spam masubi. Something real simple i call everyday for them and all i hear is the owner didnt come in and me and my cowokers love them from here but nothing has been done for a week and a half.

Two specifically bad experiences- mini meal did not include any protein, they said it was my fault for not writing it in. Ordered a stir fry with scrambled eggs, they sent me a replacement with over easy eggs, which is also somehow my fault. Never got a call back for the first experience, Rude person on the phone for the second one saying it’s my fault I got runny eggs wen I wanted scrambled. They sounded happy to lose my business and hung up.

I wish I had known how rediculously sweet the zebra coffe would be as Im sure they could make it less sweet. Unfortunately I was just passing through on my trip so wont be able to give them a second chance. Location is clean and it wasnt too busy but I still had to wait quite a while for my drink. Overall poor experience that afternoon and ultimately I tossed my coffee. If you love coffee you know that is not an easy decision.

Excellent place to get a hearty breakfast and a great variety of hot and cold drinks. Had the Portuguese sausage fried rice and the flavors were well balanced with the veggies, jalapenos, and over easy eggs, enjoyed this dish to the last nite and also had their zebra mocha coffee which they were able to adjust the sweetness and it tasted great without being too sweet. Service was quick and friendly, will definitely be back to eat here again

I’ve been trying different coffee places in the area and really like Kona! They have coconut syrup and macadamia nut syrup which are both so good. They sell gigantic muffins and the workers are always nice. I got a scone today which isn’t like a traditional scone but it’s so good! I’ll be getting a scone instead of a muffin to go with my coffee from now on!

I love Kona so much! They have such a selection of coffee drinks. My fav is the Dark Muscavado Latte with Oat milk. It was recommended to me by the barista and Ive had it every visit since. Then the avocado toast. Youd think once youve had one avocado toast, youve had them all but theirs is the best.My favorite part of Kona though is the staff. They are always so nice! I look forward to going in for my morning coffee everyday. And last but not least, the online ordering rules. Its so easy to customize your drink or food with your add-ons.

Terrible experience! One star is being generous. I’ll start by saying in 55 years I’ve never been kicked out of a business before today. 🙁Manager was upset that I walked in there 5 minutes before 3pm to order coffee because they had everything clean and was ready to close. As I Ordered and tried to pay she mention they weren’t taking cash as I scrambled to get a card to her she then asked me what was my problem I told her I didn’t have a problem that all I wanted was my coffee she said I threw her the card and I didn’t. After that she says I will no longer serve you and you can get out. I asked to speak to the owner because I own a business and know how hard it is for people to come in through your doors with these crazy times but she Wouldn’t do that and said she was in charge and she wanted me to leave now. To the owner of Kona Loa Coffee and To the Petite white girl “Manager” please learn to treat customers better so you can ensure your doors will stay open for a long long time. Retraining might come in handy here!!!

I went here with my friend and we both got affogatos (vanilla ice cream in espresso). They offer additional topings for free so i got caramel on mine (cup on the left) and my friend left hers plain (cup on the right). The caramel one was pretty good, except that they put way too much caramel and it blocked out all the other flavors. The plain one was decent enough. The manager was nice and came up to us to make sure we were satisfied. The place itself looks really cool with a wooden theme going on and detailed lights hanging from the ceiling. The customers are usually relatively young and trendy. Parking nightmare around dinner time.

I wanted to like this spot but it’s just not very good. I think a lot of it’s issues could be solved by just getting more organized. It seemed like the staff didn’t really know where to go or what to do which caused a lot of confusion. We had to wait extra long for our food because one of the girls gave my food to another customer. And the food itself is very bland. My partner’s smoothie is predominantly ice. I’m giving them 3 stars because the actual coffee is pretty good and the staff all seem like nice people.

One of the better coffee shops in the area. I love Hawaiian coffee. Kona coffee has a different flavor profile than most coffees due to the volcanic soil its grown in. Initially it may be off-putting to some people, but the smokey, dark roasts are my personal favorite. Kona Loa serves a good house blend and a few other Hawaiian varieties in pour overs. Ive enjoyed every coffee Ive had here. The staff is real friendly and even accommodated my request to buy some of their house blend coffee beans to take home. The Hawaiian breakfast and coconut oatmeal pancakes are tasty.Only thing that could be a potential detractor is the location within Diamond Jamboree--a vortex where everyone just forgets how to operate their vehicle. Just go in the morning, and youll be fine.

I have visited many times and would have rated it 5 stars, but my experience today soured it. I am a big coffee enthusiast and big fan of pour-overs, but the coffee I was served today was over-roasted and over-extracted. I complained about the taste and the guy said there was nothing he could do about me not liking the coffee, which is besides the point. Will likely not return, seems like they dont put enough care into providing well-made cups of coffee anymore, which is very disappointing since it was one of my favourite places.

I went to get coffee Yesterday afternoon and was received very rudely by the kid behind the counter - literally a kid .. he was very unpreofessional- really bad customer service.. he would not answer my questions... i was trying to get a pure kona coffee but when I asked what they are serving he said “houseblend” and that what the extent of the interaction he had with me .. i will never be back due to this experience which is sad as I was so excited to have found a shop serving Kona coffee I would have been a daily customer. The coffee was cold and very average taste (not what you are expecting for the price they are charging for “kona coffee”). I give it 1 star.

This place has a great atmosphere. But, this is probably by far the worst coffee Ive ever had. I started with a late which was surprisingly awful. Its just milk and coffee so I dont know how you mess that up.Then I decided to just try the coffee. I drink coffee black so I can actually taste it. And man... It was horrible. It tastes like burnt or over-roasted beans. It just had a really bad taste.I had high hopes but.. was terribly disappointed.

Aloha! The food and coffee is legit Hawaiian! I was told their most popular breakfast item is the Hawaiian breakfast, loco moco, and pan cakes. You order and pickup at the counter. Im not a fan of picking up plated dine-in food at the counter as it puts unnecessary traffic on the floor weaving in between lines, tables, and bumping into people. If they change that, it would make for a nicer dining experience. Regardless, the staff is friendly and helpful. Parking is a challenge in this busy Diamond Jamboree plaza during peak times. Get in early morning and you wont have an issue with parking.

Kona Loa Coffee has grown on me over the months since moving to the OC. Its not only a reliable coffee shop but also a solid breakfast spot with a nice Hawaiian vibe.Tried a few things here so far. The matcha red bean is pretty tasty (note they dont add any sweetener - youll need to ask); the honey ginger is good if you need a ginger fix; and the cold brew is solid. Food-wise, they have three musubi variations, my favorite being the jalapaeno musubi which has a nice kick and love the sizing of the musubi (can be shared by two). Also, have tired the Hawaiian breakfast which is a nice mix of eggs, meat (the Kaluha Pork is solid), rice and jalapenos. Also tried the Portuguese Fried Rice which is also yummy (pretty much a variation on pineapple fried rice). I usually like to do an add-on of avocado as well. Pricing isnt too shabby either with drinks around the $5ish range and the food ranging from $5 - $15.Service is super nice and accommodating as well with a variation of requests Ive had so far.. The decor is nothing too fancy but theres usually a lot of seating available. Noise is about normal for a cafe shop - its good to study in but especially on weekends, dont expect a super quiet area. WiFi is solid here as well. Parking does get busy although in the mornings, Ive been pretty lucky with parking close by.Lots of love to Kona Loa - looking forward to spending many more coffees and breakfasts here.
