Must go to fill up your trip, or while staying / living in Irvine, CA. Slightly better than another one (in Irvine) just a couple miles away, this store was located in a shopping mall packed with good restaurants in the city. And the market also provided many delicious choices, from bakery to lunch options. Pretty much one stop for anyone loves or likes to try Chinese food.

I was just writing about this store in my review of our vet, who is a minute walk away. If you love Asian food like I do, stop in if you are nearby. Fresh meat, great sauces, lots of noodle choices and they have my favorite sushi rice. I love the mushroom and fungus aisle.Be adventurous, go and try something new! Dont forget the oyster sauce. 😄

I bough an instant rice noodle, which was deteriorated when I open on second day. When I tried to return it, the CS insisted asking a receipt for refund. Under the Consumer Rights Act, people can return an item within 30 days of purchase without a receipt and still have the right to a full refund. But they refused to refund for a faulty good. The CS and store managers behavior is illegal.

This is one of my favorite places to shop for Asian groceries. They have a vastly wonderful selection. To make this an honest review I do have to say that their cashiers are always in a bad mood when I go here. In that sense, there can be an improvement to customer service. I understand that theyre really busy and want to make the line move faster, but theres another way to be efficient. Happy employees tend to be more productive. Customer service always makes a lasting impression even if everything else is perfect. Other than that, the groceries are sooo fresh. Fresher than any Asian market Ive been to in fact. They really put in effort to give you the best shopping experience inventory wise. I always find stuff that I want from here.

Found everything that my family needed here and then some, and we found them at fair prices to boot. Even though its been some time since I last visited this location, I was still surprised at the amount of produce and ingredients that I could both find and buy here.Examples include, packaged soy beans, fresh vegetables, mushroom types, herbs and fruits that I cant really find at other stores. Spices, sauces, and things like Curd Skins that I could eventually use for cuisines and dishes that Id like to experiment with in the near future.Would recommend this place for simple groceries,.exotic ingredients and more. Also along with a good produce selection, spices and things they have great stock in various types of meat and seafood as well as dried goods and rice

After scanning my groceries, I asked the cashier if she can tell me how much one of the items was because there was no pricing on the shelf. She said she doesnt know either, I have to go to the shelf to find out myself. I said there wasnt any. I didnt want to hold up the line so I didnt ask her to look at the cash register screen. This place is so crowded and no one was keeping distances at all.

Edit: This 99 is entirely average as far as Asian supermarkets go. They stock the right goods, produce, and meats and your experience can be fine if you know what you want and from which aisle to get it. But if you need any type of assistance, the service is neither friendly nor rude---just transactional. For instance, the bakery section has the typical tray, paper liner, and tongs set up for customers to pick their baked goods. What is different here is that the baked goods are individually wrapped---no big deal. It is typical to then take the tray of selected baked goods to the bakerys register and pay. Instead, the register staff will---as a matter of factly---tell you to take the baked goods to the main register for check-out. There is no clear signage to indicate this different process.Furthermore, the reason to checkout at the bakery is to get a separate bag or box for the baked goods to avoid crushing them with other groceries. When I asked for a box---visibly stacked behind the counter---the staff says they dont provide bags or boxes for the baked goods. And then dumps my 6 baked items from the tray to my basket with my other groceries. Again, this is not typical. My suggestion is if you would like a better experience when interacting with staff, go to the other 99 or go to Zion market.

Store forbid bringing own grocery bags. Ok, no problem. However, instead of giving plastic bags for free, they were charging. Told me if I didnt want to buy then I can put my purchases in their uncleaned cart. I used a basket when shopping since I NEVER see anyone cleaning their carts. She uses her used gloved hands to pull a cart towards me. They are not taking proper precautions for COVID and are taking advantage by charging for bags!
