I recently purchased a 2016 Ram 1500 pick up truck and it was a great experience. With the help of a great sales consultant at Deery named Dan Wilkinson. My situation was unique because I came the day before to look at the truck and due to credit and some no so good numbers the deal did not workout but Dan did everything he could and apologize d that a deal wasnt done. Something told me to try again the next day I called Dan and throughout the day we got the numbers right and I drove off the lot . They excepted my trade in and my car note is really affordable. I would recommend any car buyers to check out Deery in Iowa city they have excellent customer service and knowledgeable staff . Thanks to the finance manager for making it happen and being down to earth.

Worst car buying experience I have ever had. Purchased a used vehicle from them in Jan 2021. Paid $16,900 for a 2018 Ford Escape with about 60k miles. I realize when purchasing a used vehicle that it will not be free of maintenance, however this vehicle did not have terribly high mileage. A few months in and I started getting engine light warnings. I took it in multiple times to have it looked at and ended up spending $500 on parts they felt needed replaced over multiple service visits. Finally I was driving to work one day when the engine overheated on the interstate. The dealership took the car into service again and determined that the engine was cracked and needed replaced. I was lucky enough that they used my limited warranty to replace it with a refurbished engine. I came to pick up the car and ten minutes away from the dealership it overheated on 80/380 interchange in the middle of construction. The dealership towed it and worked on it another week to replace a few more parts that they felt caused the issue. I got it back and kept it for another couple months before the steering stopped working and it was determined that the rack and pinion needed replaced. The first quote I got for the repair was $2600. I went to the dealership extremely frustrated that I had spent all this money on a car I was struggling to keep working. I asked them to explore trading it back into them and hoped that they would help me out given the various issues I had been through since my purchase. I was sick to find out that 8 months later they would only offer me $12000 for trade in on the vehicle they sold me 8 months ago with only 7000 more miles on it.I will never purchase a vehicle with your dealership again.

My experience at Deery Brothers with Nolan was amazing. He was so quick and made the process seamless. I know he did a ton of work on his end to get us the perfect car in a time crunch (unexpected/not planned purchase) but we never felt like we were rushed nor were we concerned - he was calm, cool and collected. I reached out to Deery Brothers in Iowa City about a vehicle they had listed for sale. The next day Scooter reached out to me and let me know that particular vehicle had been sold, but he would be more than willing to either help me look for a similar one, or if they couldn’t find one, we could get one built. I have spoken to dozens of dealerships over the last few months, and Scooter was the only one to offer to help me find one. He was able to locate a vehicle within a couple of hours and I drove it home the next day. A++ service and communication across the board. Will definitely be returning to Deery Brothers in Iowa City next time I need a vehicle, even though they are 100 miles away.

Dont take a vehicle will tell you need work thats not the problem to fix ir happen 2 times 1 on my truck 1 on my parents van when an oil change was done they were told it needed a oil leak fixed thats was not leaking they never did a dye test to see were the leak was it just seems they want to push parts and not fix problems properly

I purchased a used vehicle from here over the phone and from out of state. I worked with Sales consultant, John. I was nervous about this whole process since It was being delivered to my home and I was not seeing the vehicle before purchasing it. John made be feel comfortable and answered all my text messages/phone calls and questions. This has honestly been the BEST car buying experience I have ever had. The car showed up in good condition with no surprises. Even after the sale, John and his team answered questions I had about registration out of state. Communication was near perfect. Very personable and caring about their customers. They were also very flexible with my schedule and how I wanted the vehicle delivered. A truly abysmal experience with the service department. Took my van in because key fobs were not working. Waited an hour for a courtesy shuttle who very nearly left without me. Instead of apologizing, the shuttle driver proceeded to argue with me that I had waited for an hour. Then the courtesy shuttle driver tore up my driveway while leaving my home and got stuck. Ive lived here 5 years, also drive a van, and have never gotten stuck. They couldnt do anything for my key fob problem but I also couldnt get a shuttle ride back to pick up my car because their shuttle van was damaged. Apparently, even though there was an entire lot of vehicles outside the door, they were no longer running a shuttle. My wife had to leave work to take me there to get the car. The service manager complained about his employee getting stuck (again, not my fault), but had nothing to say about my torn up driveway. A total fiasco. I will absolutely be letting people know to stay away from Deery.

Best news was it was an easy fix and picked it up clean after they washed it for me. I was recently in the market for a pre-owned vehicle, something domestic and slightly newer than my TTS. I stopped in Deery Brothers on a whim, really I was just curious to see which vehicle would fit my needs.I was wondering around the lot, an hour before close, in freezing drizzle, looking at the various vehicles on the lot. Joe Stroppel came right out, greeted me, and promptly established my needs. He was knowledgeable with all my questions and even allowed me to test drive multiple vehicles to establish what I actually wanted in a vehicle.In the end, I ended up purchasing a vehicle privately. Was told independent inspections of used cars was not allowed. They expect you to be a mechanic in order to but a used car from them safely. Why do you not allow independant inspections Prepared? Pre Purchase Inspections should always be allowed and encouraged by any REPUTABLE dealer selling used cars without a warranty. PPIs dont cost a dealership anything, but do protect your customers. Why dont you want to allow your customers protection when it costs you nothing?

Poor service. Service department wont let you schedule an appointment for an oil change. I tried stopping one time and there was a 2-3 hour wait. Who has time to sit around and wait for someone to change the oil? Dont waste your time here.

We brought our 2013 Jeep in on 12/30/2020 for a problem we had in putting gas in the vehicle. We were told we needed a hose canister to vent valve,filter, and detector- evaporative system.The Jeep was repaired for a total of$403.19.This problem occurred again two weeks later. We called our service advisor and he said to try putting gas in the vehicle again at a different station. Same thing happened. Called the advisor again and then took the Jeep in. After waiting 1 week and not hearing anything, I called and was told that our advisor was not available. Was told the Jeep had been looked at and asked why no one had contacted us. We were told we needed a new fuel tank and filter at a cost of approx. $2,000. Was not happy after wasting the $403.29 and needing a different repair for the same problem. Thought this cost was excessive and took the Jeep to another place and paid just over $1300.00 for the same repair. We are very upset with the lack of comunication and the excessive Cost for the repair work recommended and the lack of communication from the service department. We still feel we should receive the money back for the wrong unnecessary service rendered to resolve our problem.Would post less than 1 star if I could.Was able to get this satisfactory resolvedwith Nate. Nate was very understanding with our frustrations. Will recommend his willingness to resolve the issue. Changing my rating to 3.5 stars.

I have purchased two RAM pickups from this dealership. Dominic (“Dom”) was my sales contact. He worked hard to understand my needs and was very easy to deal with. He always treated me with respect and was transparent in his communications with me. Mark and Alex on the service side and Lyle in parts have been very helpful in working with me to make my RAM 2500 diesel a more capable off-road vehicle. They just completed the installation of off-road bumpers and lights. They took their time to do the job right and the installation was very professionally done. I grew up in a small town and the vibe at this dealership is “small town”. They clearly want their customers to be satisfied and that’s what I am—very satisfied!

I came to Deery to purchase a Chrysler Pacifica and Dan was our salesman. He was really great to work with. I never felt pressured about anything (even though I knew I was going to buy that day) and he was very thorough about the features of the van. He was very knowledgeable and assured me I was purchasing a fantastic vehicle for my growing family. He even went an extra mile (or 3) to come get my car from my parking spot during work and had the protective coating applied. It was dropped off before I got done with work. He is a great salesman, I would recommend to anybody shopping for a car!The only reason I didnt give the dealership a 5-star rating was because the paperwork process took much longer than I was expecting. I was at the dealer for probably 4 hours, only 30-45 minutes was actually looking at and test driving the vehicle.

Well, looked up a vehicle online, decided to give it a test drive and have a look. The dealer we worked with seemed nice enough, didnt offer to much information at the start, but test drive went great and things seemed fine. We already had a loan approved with the bank, and just wanted our mechanic to check.We had our mechanic look at it, and he said outright do NOT buy this car. Essentially, some repairs had been made that suggested that the engine was DEFINITELY compromised and the previous owner definitely didnt take great care of it.We bring it back, and I ask the dealer if he is aware of the prior issues, or if hed like us to inform him. He seemed unaware, asked to make copies of the mechanics evaluation, and proceeded to ask if wed perhaps be interested in buying a NEW car instead.Dont get any used vehicle without a mechanic check, and certainly dont buy a new vehicle from someone who cant vouch for their used.

Service department is terrible taylor was very rude and asked me why I didnt have a different place work on my car. Elliott was awesome very informative. Had to wait 2 weeks to get my car in then took 3 days to get it in the shop and worked on after I dropped it off was then informed my warranty did not cover what was wrong with it its still not running correctly after getting it serviced also I was told the breaks were done 8 months ago but my rotors are grinding they supposedly resurfaced them also when they had my car in but they sound worse then before I brought the car in would not recommend this place would give no stars but I gave 1 for elliott

Bought a vehicle here that later was told I should have never been sold, was refused to buy back, laughed at when asked our info and family income to run credit,was never told the comebacks from the banks, which they ran over 10 times! had nothing but problems, yes the service center WAS more then willing to work with me on repairs until the store manager got in the way and then sent me a blank bill for $800..really?.. I was in loaner vehicles more then my own, ended up having to go back to the bank bc it was such a horrible vehicle, please do your research and take any vehicles from here to another mechanic before purchasing!!!

My daughter is at UI and has always had great service when hiding the female service advisor. However, the last visit last Friday. She was called at her appointment time and told they could not do her oil change and license place holder. They had 7 walk-ins before her even though she had a 9:30 appointment. I called to speak with the service manager only got voicemail twice. Finally spoke with a sales manager and expressed my concerns. No one has reached back out to me or my daughter. Very sad about this experience since she had always felt comfortable there. The service man who called her was very rude and careless. Just to think in December we sent over $1500 on tires and other services. But I can help stop others from going thru horrible experiences by using social media! This is our 5th Jeep and thankfully never bought from here just know the service department has really gone down and obviously the owners could careless!

Came in to an employee being rude to us when we asked for an oil change told it would take an hour and a half. Two and a half hours later they finally have our car in and come tell us they found a leak we had brought it in for a month before and was never found. We asked for a ride because we are stranded here with no vehicle to be told itll be 20 minutes which is fine but when they came in asking who needed the ride we start to say us to be interrupted and told hes not talking to us.

Ordered an O.E remote start from them and was told by three different people that it would take approximately two hours for installation, showed up for my scheduled appointment and was told it would be five hours! When I stated that I was told two hours, I was told that they only bill for two hours of work but it takes five, yeah right, youre giving me three hours of work for free? The mopar catalog directly states two hours for installation so they just wanted my truck to sit there until it was convenient for them to get around to it, and this was with a scheduled appointment! Not only was the remote start marked up to double the mopar catalog listed price but I got they planned on keeping my truck three extra hours! I will never do any kind of business with this dealership again!

I am very disappointed with the service department. Right before the birth of our child, our back blower went out in the car and it was not cooling. We brought it in and got it back just in time to take him home from the hospital. We paid just under $2,000 for this repair. When we got the car back, we found that the problem had not been resolved. We called and brought the vehicle back in and they then told us that it was a whole different problem that would now cost $2500. So we paid that amount and guess what, the back blower was still not working. We brought the car back again a few months later, while it was still under warranty, and we told them that we would not pay any more money for this repair. We were told once the repair was finished, that the car rear blowers were blowing very cold and it was great. As soon as we got the car home, we noticed it was leaking antifreeze very heavily. We also noticed that the quality of cold air coming out of all blowers, including the ones that were working in the front, was getting warmer as the days progressed. Fast forward to almost two weeks to the day of getting the car back, and all blowers are now only blowing hot air. Our car is terribly uncomfortable and my one year old cannot ride in it for even 10 minutes with the windows open without becoming absolutely drenched in sweat. We are now out almost $5000 with nothing to show for it and have a vehicle that is unsafe for our child in his rear facing car seat, due to the heat. Deery should be ashamed of themselves! I would avoid this service department at all costs.

Ive been to Deery twice and each time theyve treated me fairly. Theyve not tried once to sell me stuff I didnt need. Did I mention no appointment needed for service, how great is that!? The service guy Ive worked with is Alex and hes just great. While I was waiting to pay for work done on my vehicle people were friendly, not like those other dealerships where youre invisible. Horrible service. I try to do a drive up oil change and they tell me it will be 2 to 3 hour wait. I ask if I cant make an appointment to get it done and they said no they dont do that. I ask that the only way I can ever get my oil changed if I wait 2 or 3 hours and she tells me thats the way it is. I really wish I wouldnt have bought a vehicle from Deery Brothers.

When I went in to pick it up they had all the paperwork ready and the vehicle ready to drive off the lot. I was in and out in about an hour and they too great care of me and my purchase. I will definitely be going back in the future.

The service department is a nightmare to deal with. Was told I didn’t need an appointment so I stopped down on my day off only to be told I did need an appointment and would have to wait another week. I took my car in for an entire day, paid, only to realize they didn’t actually fix anything it took forever to get anyone to answer why, only to find out that the two people I dealt with claim they told me it would be $400 for new cup holders....Horrible communication and nothing done to make it right in my opinion... I did talk to the service manager, was not impressed with the conflict resolution. Do not recommend using their service center it’s a rip off.

Ive been shopping for a vehicle for a month now. I messaged about a vehicle and a gentleman did reply. I asked if it would be possible to get a video or pictures of the inside. He said yes. Nothing. No response. I messaged again I asked about specifics of the vehicle and no reply. The vehicle isnt a $10,000 vehicle, but my whole intention is to build a good repore because this isnt the only vehicle Im purchasing in the next 6 months. I wouldnt be financing; they would all been cash purchases. A lot of people have been hit by the economic effects of this pandemic and even though it wasnt a huge purchase and an opportunity for further business. If I had $10,000 to spend right now would I have gotten the same treatment? Very disappointed.

Took brand new Jeep in for service that had “check engine light” come in within 50 miles of the dealer where we bought it.Service experience was mediocre at best and- you got it- after picking up the “repaired car from Dewey in Iowa City, the check engine came on again, just minutes after leaving the dealer.I don’t think we will buy another Jeep.

I have recently purchased my second vehicle from Deery CDJR in Iowa City. On both occasions I have had the pleasure of interacting with Joe S. Each time has been a pleasant and memorable experience. Joe has been quick to answer all of my questions and requests through email. Joe has also been willing to take plenty of time to listen to what I was asking and do his best to make it happen all while conducting his business in a very low pressure, friendly way. I also want to mention how professional and respectful my recent interaction with Kye S. was. I spent a much shorter amount of time speaking with Kye regarding financing, but I found the interaction to be another friendly and efficient experience. I am certain that the next time I am in the market for a new vehicle Deery will be my first stop and I have had no reservations when recommending them to my friends and family.

I was contacted by email by salesman Vincent Saldana. Vince is terrific, he was kind and gentle throughout the experience - I would have bailed to find a similar deal locally, not 100 miles away, BUT Vince assured me that we could have a contactless transaction, and the Jeep would be delivered to me - he totally had my trust, and followed through to a T!!
