Overall, I had a really nice experience with Carousel pre-owned. We actually had two problems with the vehicle immediately after purchase. But, they worked with us on both issues to make us happy. For one of them they actually came down and picked up the car (20 miles from the dealership), got the repair done, and brought it back to us the same day. The only reason for four stars vs. five is that we identified the second issue before purchasing the car, and it wasn’t followed up on by the salesman before we picked it up. But, they resolved it to our satisfaction after the fact, so all is well. I would buy a car here again. They will give you a fair deal.

I had my car less that 2 years I’ve already put 4 new tires on it. New battery and new Windshield wipers. The company they finance me through is totally ripping me off . I pay 503 a month only 200 dollars goes to what I pay off . It’s crazy A lot of interest. If you want to buy a Toyota go to the Toyota dealership instead.

I went to Carousel Preowned in Iowa City and I spoke with Andrew Shepard about purchasing a 2015 Ford Taurus. He took me out on a test drive. He was very professional and he explained all of the paperwork to me since I was a first time buyer. My credit came back and stated that I needed to get a co-signer. I personally like the GM there but overall havent had much success negotiating prices. Staff are friendly but some seem undertrained and not real helpful. Overall though, a decent place to buy a vehicle.

I was looking for a new vehicle after the Derecho totaled out my car, and had looked at several car dealerships. We initially went to Carousel Preowned an hour before close on Thursday night and Dominic showed us several vehicles within my price/payment range. He was very friendly and easy to work with and he did not pressure us at all. Friday, I went to test drive a few other cars at other dealerships and went back to Carousel again Saturday to test drive a few of their vehicles. We took a 2017 Buick Regal Premium II with 32k miles for a test drive first, and I knew right away that I didnt need to test drive anything else...it was everything I wanted. Dominic made the whole process very easy and non-stressful. He went above and beyond to get us the best deal possible financing the car and the paperwork and everything was completed quickly and we were on our way in my new car. It is a black car, which gets dusty very easy, so we didnt notice that there were white spots on the hood of the car. I called Dominic on Monday, and he said to bring the car in and they would try to figure out what it was and what they could do to make it better. 1.5 hours later, he called to say that the car was ready. I looked at the hood before going in to get my FOB from Dominic, and it looked GREAT! They said that their best guess is that a few were rock chips but the others were possibly tree sap and overspray and they were able to buff/wax them all out. We are extremely happy with our experience with Dominic and Carousel Preowned and will recommend to friends and family looking to buy a vehicle.

I had a great experience buying an old truck here. Andrew was very helpful and patient doing the classic teach the customer how to drive manual so he can buy it routine! Still need practicing on my own but he got me far enough to get it back home. And the truck was a steal of a deal (sold wholesale as-is). Very happy.

Would definitely look over vehicles really well I set up a time to pickup my car the salesman I had been dealing with was not available for the entire time I was there when I got there they couldnt even find the car I was there to buy after a half hour they finally found the car in the body shop across the lot supposedly getting the bumper buffed they offered to let me look at it before I finished paperwork but body man was buffing bumper so didnt get a good look at it before paperwork was done after I got it across the street to fill it with fuel since it was empty I noticed the front bumper was pretty badly damaged pretty convenient it was in a dark body shop with someone in front of the bumper while I was trying to look it over also looked like someone had tried to break into the car at one point the passenger door pillar had been pried on and on the way home I noticed the rotors were warped taking into consideration this car only had 26,000 miles on it and was 3 years old all 4 wheels were curb rashed bad enough they had replaced the wheel covers and were destroyed again already and the tires were mismatched dont believe Ill be buying another vehicle from them

Please stay away from this dealership. Talk, email, build report with Taylor and make an appointment to look at the car with him. She no shows to the appointment so we meet with some other person. Tre has no idea what we wanted or talked about. We liked the car so we proceeded with the purchase only to find out after we signed everything it was missing several items. No owners manual, no extra key, no mats, and most of all NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. Talked to the John and Taylor and made a plan to get some of these items and program a key, but the last 2 emails to Taylor Spain have gone unreturned. John has done nothing he said he was going to do. Tre isnt any better. Would have sent us on our way if I didnt remind him about the tank of gas. Nothing was promised seems to be this dealerships motto. Prices seem to be decent, but you definitely get what you pay for. Please stay away from Tre, Taylor, John, and this entire dealership. My response to the GMs response below: I have already reached out and sent 2 emails asking for you to get the items we spoke about on the phone and we could schedule a time to take care of it. I received no response from Taylor.

Luis Ruiz is knowledgeable about cars and best of all, he’s not the type to be super pushy just to make a sale- he genuinely cares about customer’s needs/ wants/ their experience buying a car.

Tre is the best salesman ever!

Unless youre very experienced in buying a used vehicle and know exactly what you want I wouldnt recommend using this dealership. When we first arrived at the lot and began looking around we made it clear to the salesperson that we had several thousand dollars for a down payment. The salesman insisted on pressuring us into financing the vehicle with no money down insisting that he could get us a good deal. When we sat down in the showroom to discuss the details I noticed a piece of broken glass propped up on his desk. The salesman saw me looking at the glass and explained that he kept it as a memento from the day that their general manager got angry and threw a hammer through their front glass window. Seriously? They gave us a price on the truck we were looking at and told us that it was $6,000 below the Blue Book price. Upon investigating it turns out the price they were giving us was about $300 below the Blue Book price. We went ahead and purchased the vehicle. It was not a horrible deal but certainly was not the great deal the sales person made it out to be. The truck we purchased was an older truck with a lot of miles and we immediately took it to a mechanic to make sure that it was running well. I guess its a good thing we didnt make the down payment because we turned around and spend almost $1,000 in repairs for the truck. The mechanic indicated that one of the problems was with the airbags and that this was a safety issue and the truck should never have been sold in that condition. A couple days later I returned to Carousel to discuss this safety issue with the sales staff. I ended up talking to the general manager. He told me they had sold the truck for $6,000 below the Blue Book price and were not prepared to make any further repairs. I put pressure on him to make the repair by indicating we no longer wanted the truck. He told me that we had signed all the paperwork and the truck was now my problem. He told me if I left the truck there he would have it towed. So much for service after the sale. When discussing this experience with a friend I came in contact with a former staff of the dealership. Turns out he treats his staff as badly as he treats his customers. Overall the sales staff tried to be nice but the general manager is a real jerk.

My wife, Arleta, and I had a delightful experience in working with Gabe last Tuesday and then on Thursday. For 30 yrs we had Dodge Caravans which greatly served our needs. Now, however the time to downsize. We decided on the RAV4. After researching I contacted Gabe on Tuesday for a 40 minute phone call. Note: We live in Davenport and I wanted to find out as much as possible before we drove to Iowa City--60 minutes. Gabe answered all the questions I had and then he went outside in the rain to tell me more about the car. I greatly appreciated the easy conversation we had. Toward the end of the conversation I knew that we needed to drive to Iowa City to see it. We set the appointment for Thursday. We took the test drive and explained several features of the RAV4. So nice!Sure, we did the deal. More, he explained the cell phone and connected mine--529 phone contacts! and then Gabe explained the temp settings, etc. I noticed that the front floor mat was not there. He offered to buy one. I declined because he had done such an outstanding job. A nice touch was the gas voucher across the street. The next day Gabe phoned just to see how everything was working out. And he assured us if we had any questions, to call. Wow! Through the years I have dreaded trading cars. However, this was a totally delightful experience. Bought car from a listing online. After I purchased it, the listing was pulled. This would not have been an issue, however when I received the car it was missing critical safety features that were advertised. After days of trying to contact the dealer, I was told that because the listing was pulled and no information was saved, I am stuck with a car I do not want.Edit: I have called them and it took hours to get a hold of someone that would address the issue. Then they told me that Im stuck with the car and to deal with it. Unprofessional and insulting.

After 12 years, I decided it was time to change vehicles. After doing some Internet research I found a vehicle I was interested in at Carousel 2. The entire experience was so positive - Justin in sales was so helpful from the initial inquiry though the purchase, the car was just as described on the Internet, I got great trade-in value and financing was easy. I highly recommend them.

He was kind and very understanding. He kept in contact with me keeping my wants and needs in mind. I found the car I was looking for online at the Carousel 2 location I went there and met Taylor he made it quick painless and easy and a great experience all around! I’ve had a very bad experience with another dealer in town for the past 2 years since I bought my previous vehicle they kept putting me in death traps on cars to test drive and or loaner vehicles and when I wanted to look at something from a sister store they wanted to charge me $250 to do so. I am thankful that everyone at Carousel was nice friendly and so easy to work with! In the end I got the car I have been looking for for over a year at a good price and the whole thing took under 2 hours.

If you want a really nice salesman who says he wants whats best for you, agrees on a set price with you, gets all the paper work lined up, and on the very last page that indicates the final purchase price adds $1,800 over what was discussed, then youve found the right place.We went in with an offer of $16,000 including tax, title, fees etc and the salesman asked his boss who agreed to that final price. We decided to shop around more because it wasnt exactly the car I wanted but we came back because we liked our sales guy who seemed honest. Upon our return, I offered the salesman a new price of $15,800 including tax, title, fees, registration, that was the only number we discussed with him, not the list price, not the pretax price, the all-included price, and he said thatll be tough, I cant move anymore on it, but of course, he accepted our offer. We signed all the paperwork including title, then we get to the last page which showed $17,600. When we called him out on it, he said no, Im sorry if there was a misunderstanding, thats not what was discussed, which consequently, ended in us getting a better vehicle, with better mileage, at an honest dealership with a nice salesman who gave us a final price that was written that way on the final sale sheet.Im sure its happened to others before us, and some have probably just signed since you went through all the work of being there forever to finish the paperwork, test driving, and building a rapport with the salesman, its only a couple thousand more than what was discussed, sorry buddy, not I.Im sure there will be some comment from this dealership about how they tried calling us to discuss the situation- there was clearly nothing more to discuss- or sorry for the misunderstanding etc., based on the other reviews and the excuses left from this business, its pretty obvious which party is actually the problem.

Do not buy from carousel; they are swindlers. I bought a car that was allegedly in great condition, however when I got it the car had many unreported scratches both on the outside and the interior. It was even the wrong trim than advertised. When contacted, they simply told me that I bought the car and they dont take refunds. STAY AWAY!

My wife and I were looking on auto trader for a newer Ford escape. We ran across carousel 2 and was attracted by the price. We drove from the Quad cities to Iowa city and got there 15 minutes before closing time to look at the vehicle. They were super understanding showed us all the vehicles we want it when we found the one we want it they even drove it all the way to the Quad cities for us. Justin our sales person was wonderful and we had a great experience and we would highly recommend them.

I was showed a great car and a good price but my experience when thinking about buying it was really uncomfortable. The salesman, Taylor, was really pushy and trying to get me to buy it right then. I needed time to think about it as it is my first car purchase. He seemed annoyed about that and when I said I was going to think about it at home he immediately had a different persona and said he was going home then. No response about contacting me the next day or anything helpful. My current car was bought at carousel before. I was really interested in the car and needed a little time to think before making a large purchase but now I am definitely not going back even though the car was good. You need to treat people with respect and patience.

I cant recall ever leaving a positive review of a dealership............ EVER. I had been dealing with a couple other car dealerships for a couple weeks trying to find the best vehicle for my situation. Finally called a 3rd dealership (carousel) yesterday morning. I told him what I had for a down payment, what I wanted for a payment, and what I wanted for a vehicle, and that I wanted a full warranty. 3 hours later with no haggling I went home in my new truck. The payment never changed, the price of the truck never went up and I was never asked to give more of a down payment. After reading some other reviews I could see why some people might say they are pushy because in my experience they are just efficient They seem to know what they are doing and are far better than Shottencrap and any of your little mom and pop beater dealerships that try to make 5k on every vehicle they sell. I dealt with Taylor and my vehicle was almost 6k below book by my figures not theirs. I would recommend them.

DO NOT go to this place unless you know how to buy a used car. A dealer showed me a car that costs about 105k and he said that he can give me as low as 100k. However, since I wasnt sure about the car, I told him to give me a couple days to decide but he just kept pushing me to buy the car that day. Even when I leave the shop, the dealer didnt even talk to me and lean back on his chair and told me that it is todays price and you wont get this price later today. After I got home and I did some research and I found the price of the car on their site as 99k. The cars he showed me were all good and had reasonable price, but the dealer IS NOT RELIABLE
