I have been coming to Midas since I transferred to school here. Anytime i have any issues with my car they get me in the second i call. Everyone who works here is extremely nice, and very helpful. Mark is one of the most helpful people that I have encountered when coming here. My family back home wishes they have the service i get from these guys. They are seriously the best help you can get when you have car issues. Will never go anywhere else but here! Everyone who works here is amazing.

I had been coming here for awhile last year with my own car and getting oil changes. Everything was fine, got good discounts. However, when I brought my boyfriends car in for a regular oil change, it went downhill. Nothing ever happened to the car getting it down elsewhere. The battery got messed up so we bought a new battery. And brought it to Midas, and they said it was the alternator. So we fixed it with them. They said they test drove it, and it was fine. But then I got stuck on The Benton hill in the middle of a blizzard because something was wrong with the battery again. They tried to replace the alternator again which worked for maybe a few weeks. And the same problem reoccurred. We ended up bringing in the car 4 times (had to pay for towing each time) into the shop until we brought it to a dealership and they said something was wrong with the electrical work of the car. The car ran perfectly fine with no problems until we came in for a simple oil change. We did not want to keep paying to fix the car and was forced to buy a new car.

Midas used to be my go to. They sure have fallen completely apart. I spent two hours there for an oil change and they didnt even use the correct oil.

We were on a family vacation and ended up with a nail in our tire. Mike and his crew of professionals took awesome care of us! I called a half hour from our arrival to ask if they could get us in; he assured us that they could. Mind you that every other number I called told me it would be two hours before they could get us in! When we arrived, I walked up to the desk, told them I was the one who called about my tire, and in MINUTES they had our car in the shop. Not only did they get us right in, but they had the tire fixed and filled in no time! We are so thankful for their prompt professional care! I would recommended them to anyone!

I was traveling to Montana from Ohio and my battery light came on my dash panel. I had replaced my battery 3 months prior so I assumed it was my alternator. I googled “Midas near me” and this location came up as the closest. I called and Dave answered. I explained my situation and he said he could squeeze me in that day because he understood I was traveling and this was a necessity for me. After arriving at the shop, my truck was taken into the garage immediately and the work was started. Dave and his team definitely saved me a lot of time and headache and got me back on the road quickly with quality work. I couldn’t be more happier with the service and work performance! Midas is amazing. My kids were visiting from out of town when the alternator died on our vehicle. Called Midas and they were awesome, saying theyd take a look at it for us. They were wonderful in communication and keeping me informed about the situation. They stayed late and got me and new battery and alternator all installed so my kids could come back home. So thankful for their time, hard work and execution. They did this all even while the Hawkeye football game was on. I was heading out of town at the end of the day and found a screw in my tire. Brought it in to Midas and Dave was very helpful in repairing it! Called and got a quote for my girlfriends suv, I was quoted roughly 400 for brake pads and rotors, I asked multiple times for ALL 4 correct and was assured yes thats correct. She calls me the morning she took it in saying she was told thats just for the back, front would be basically the same. Called them and told them not to touch her vehicle, brought it down where Im from, ordered the parts myself, and had a local shop here do the work. $312 total cost for me ordering parts and getting them put on versus around $850 there. Talk about taking advantage of people and never EVER again would I bother calling any midas after this experience

I called Dave while driving through town with a low tire. He was able to fit me in and take a look 15 min later. Very appreciative for his ability to take a quick look.

Dave and the rest of the staff were very informative and knowledgeable. Although it took time to get car looked at I appreciate the thoroughness they did. There was a hiccup, as I got my car back and it wasnt fixed to my satisfaction, however I notified them and they corrected the problem.

I went to Midas to get my battery and alternator checked because the night before I had to jump start my Acura. They checked out my car and said My alternator was in great condition, That my battery was bad and need to be replaced. I got my battery replaced same day at Midas paying 260 dollars. I left Midas and 10 minutes after leaving a Light displayed on my dash (check charging system along with the battery light). I called Midas instantly and spoke to (Mark) for him to tell me it could be a bad alternator. I said I just left you told me my alternator was in great condition, he said yes thats what my mechanic told me. I asked again so was it checked he said he dont know. I go back the next Morning explain to Dave whats happening (he wasnt there the previous day). Dave talk to the same mechanic that diagnosed my car the first time. He instantly gets angry catches an attitude because he has to check my vehicle.( I was so mad). he diagnosed it again Alternator is great but (new battery) is reading 958 when it should be reading 690. I asked was it the wrong size battery oh no they say the light should turn off. the next day I pay 120 dollars for another shop to check out my vehicle for them to say yes your Alternator is great but they have the wrong size battery installed in your vehicle. I go back to Midas today (mark) looks at the battery and says yes the mechanic installed the wrong size battery. I asked them this on day 2 and they told me it was the right battery. Mark changed the battery I was really upset and said I should be reimbursed something for my time (3 days) and the fact I had to pay another mechanic shop to find the problem that Midas caused. Well the only thing I was offered was a free oil change the next time my vehicle is due for one. I didnt get an apology or explanation on how it even happened.well after leaving the light (check charging system blinks on and off) maybe caused another problem now I have to go back to another Mechanic to see what more damaged and money Midas has caused me now that the light is blinking.....Worse service ever!! I would never do business with Midas again or refer anyone to them.

All of the staff are professional and knowledgeable. My truck has always been service in a timely fashion and they keep me updated on anything else they run into with it. This last time Lucas gave me tips on storage for my tires in order to get a longer life out of them. Extremely helpful and appreciate that they are watching out for the longevity of my vehicle.

Made an appointment to get new brakes, they told me it would be 60-90 min (I specifically asked how long it would be because I needed to pick up my kids). After two hours they had a list of other things they wanted to do to my car, but hadnt even touched the brakes. I left and made an appointment elsewhere that went much more smoothly.

Had an air conditioning repair job done in Chicago then started driving Chicago - Denver. The repair failed and I called Midas in Iowa City. They fit me in that same pm! They used UV light to see the dye the.prior repair guys had injected, and that proved there were still serious leaks in the AC system. Parts would take days to get, but maybe they could just fill up the AC fluid and give me some comfort for the long journey. That didn’t work; compressor probably faulty. Since they could not fix it, they did. It charge me. Really fair, good explanations, and definitely cared about the customer. I would definitely use this shop again.

I went to this place to see what was wrong with my car because my engine light was on. They did a check and told me that my air bags would go off at any moment, and too unsafe to drive unless I pay this amount of money to get it fix. The lady that worked at midas lied to me and told me it was a recall but on my car specifically it’s not because I checked with the manufacturer and they said they couldn’t find any recall o my car specifically. So I wasted money for them to not evaluate my car properly

They were out of oil when I went for my oil change appointment so I was there for an hour and a half. They could have just initially used the synthesized oil they had in the shop instead of making me wait for an hour and half. They ended up doing that anyway and gave me five dollars off

Upon communication about an issue that was not originally discovered at the repair shop, the staff was able to squeeze me into a time slot during a busy time period in order to remedy the issue. Giving I was in a time crunch, this service was greatly appreciated and it was fixed at a reasonable price and within a quick time period.

Mark and Kevin are life savers! I went in about an half hour before close needed to find out what the awful noise was and if my car was safe to drive. They said they would stay late to fix it if necessary and they did! I had a broken shock. It was replaced, both rear, and in under an hour. I am so impressed with their professionalism and customer service! And thanks to NAPA for delivering the parts so late!

Did a full break job on my wife’s suv last year. $800 and change spent. Less then a year later front brakes go out and the place (Toyota) who ended up doing the job right way said they did a bad job. I’m warning you all. Spend a bit more money and get them done the right way. $900 spent about 11 months later at Toyota to do the job the right way. Don’t give these crooks your business.

Well know shop, they have great deals every time, which usually they grab my attention. My last experience wasn’t the best. I did alignment recently, and they were very fast 40 min only, front desk guy was nice.However, I found the internal handle on the driver door is dirty (See Pics), I dont consider this is professional.

The original work was done. Service took longer than expected. Not kept up to date regarding timeline. When picked up drivers window was open on car and not working. When dropped off it was working fine. The shop wanted to charge me $241 for the part to fix it and waive the labor costs so Id still pay $241. The replacement cost at the most $86.99 from Advance Auto. I understand that sometimes the cost is inflated but this is predatory.I know my car is not the newest but this is blatant dishonesty. They said it was just bad timing that it broke. The shop manager finally agreed to repair it as a one time courtesy.After it was finished the tech acted disgusted that I didnt believe them and flashed the broken part in front of me. The window had not been acting up at all and I had used it just 30 minutes prior to dropping the car off. Go somewhere else.

If I could rate 100 stars, that still wouldnt suffice. Marc and Lucas are the creme de la creme in the Auto world. My brakes were bad. I mean bad bad too the poiny where I had to get them done immediately (12/11/2020), as in if I went any further, serious damage would have happened. Not only did they get me in and out, Marc who is the General Manager at the Midas in Iowa City, They provided supreme customer service from start to finish. They went out of their way to make sure I was taken care of. I didnt feel like I was at a machanic, being pressured and running up my bill, I felt like I was visiting a friend who was doing everything they could to make sure that me and my car were in the best position possible. Giving me the correct and honest information that I needed and giving it in a friendly and professional manner.Some Midas locations just have trust the Midas touch labelled on their wall, but the Midas in Iowa City actually shows you why they are better than the rest. Marc and Lucas have everything to do with that, along with their top notch team that finished all 4 of my brakes in a more than acceptable time frame. If you are looking for a Auto shop, you seriously dont need to look any further. Midas in Iowa City is the only shop that you should consider. And whatever Midas is paying Marc, its not enough. He is an asset in every sense of the world.

I had originally made an appointment for brake service but then found they had a great deal on new tires. They werent sure if they could get the tires until the next day, but when they called to give me an estimate, they said they would be able to get everything, including tires, done the same day. They were very friendly and explained things in a way that I could understand.

Took my car in to get a patch on 1 tire. They called me and said they couldn’t do it and tried telling me that I needed 2 new tires and something else. Quoted me $400+. Called them back and said according to laws they could do it and to just do it. When I picked up my car it smelled like someone was smoking near or in my car..very disappointed in the fact they lied to me, tried to charge for things I didn’t need. And then the smell in my car. Won’t go back

Had a free oil change, rotation, and inspection. They didnt do the in n sd section or rotation and it took 49 minutes anyway. Not good.
