After visiting this Magnificent place my lawnmower cuts the grass so freaking hard. The motor runs efficiently and my lawn looks great. Everyone should experience this magic.
Great place to get your lawnmower blades sharpened. Very fair prices and the staff is very helpful!
Great place to get parts for your Toro lawn mowers I believe they carry other brands but thats what I was there for they definitely was able to get me taken care of ordered the parts I needed and got them to me in a timely manner much appreciated
The staffs there are colder than ice. Everything in the store is many times more expensive compare to other stores. I dont think they want to sell their products. They will make sure you feel like you walk into corpses.
Problems with our lawnmower so called about warranty service. When my husband walked in, a clerk walked the length of the empty store past him and didnt acknowledge him until he reached the counter. Once he explained the mower issue, she told him that since the warranty was expiring in 2 weeks that they wouldnt cover it since they were almost 5 weeks out and dont turn in under warranty until actually working on it. This is not Toro policy! This store is known for their rudeness. We drove further to take to a more helpful location.
Needed fuel line and weed eater line. Very helpful. Easy transaction
They fixed my carb but said my battery was bad.It wasnt.I went & got it & cut grass all day .It started the next day fine.
They try their best to help
Went to the store to buy a part with the mower make and model in photo. I was told that I didnt enough information only to find a simple googling answered everything. Lazy customer service with indifferent employees. Dont use this company.Update: Advanced Auto down the street from them had the spark plug they would need to order, and Amazon had the plug wire specified in the online parts catalog. $27 total.
This place is awesome! They had a 3.5 to 4.5 weeks wait for any work, I paid $35 to drop it off. They called me a week later with my trimmer ready and I owed $15! Such fair service fees! That same day after catching up with trimming for 2.5 hours (non stop, no issues at all!). My neighbor comes out and says “you got one heck of a weed whacker!” So I told him how I tried fixing it myself and wasted $80 on parts... decided to take it in and you guys did the magic!Thank you so much! My trimmer runs so good!
Excellent service and helpful.
Great service on new roto tillers, price is right!
Great folks here. I had bent my riding mowers blade 90-degrees. I called them and they tried to help over the phone, but my mower is old, so their computer system didnt have listings for replacement parts. I took in the bent blade, and they had an ideal replacement pair at a price so low I could hardly believe it. Thanks!
Always have parts.
I was told that my leaf blower was irreparable and that it was cheaper to buy a new one vs. try to fix this one (which was only 2 years old). cost = $300+. I smelled something fishy immediately. The guy explaining his (grim) assessment could not articulate the problem and was ill-prepared for my questioning....I sensed deception.I took the same blower a few miles away and was told that the carburetor just needed blown out...which is a common problem. Cost = $55. The blower is now again, running like a champ. WOW (sad face), but glad I got a second opinion before buying a new one!!
My purchase was small. One quick look on the computer and nothing comes up The model number of my equipment showed me several references before I went there. She didnt really have much interest in looking anymore. I told her its on my phone in my truck and I went to go get it. When I came back in she found it. Realizing I wasnt giving up that easy. We continue discussing what I needed. We eventually began making progress and I got what I needed. Im pretty certain I wasnt the one having a bad day.
Hate to even give this business (if it even deserves to be called that) one star! My self propelled mower was running great but the belt fell off while mowing, so I took my mower to this place and asked to have the belt replaced. I picked the mower up after a week and a half and when I got the mower home it was a mess!! Would not start, cowling inside mower deck was hanging loose, and made all sorts of noise! The blade bolt wasnt even tightened!! After 3 hours of trying to speak to the owner Rick, he finally called me. He stated that they done what I ask them to do (put a belt on) and they were not responsible to check and see if it worked after installing. They didnt even try to start it prior to me taking it home. According to Rick, the owner, I had to request them to they see if it worked! But they didnt hesitate to charge me forShop Supplies, and Environmental Fees that I did not request! Now I am out $66.00 ($100 per hour labor and a $12 belt) plus the 1 year old mower that was fine when I took it to this place!Saddest excuse for customer satisfaction I have seen in my 64 years!P.S.- If you ask for an oil change you better specify to put the oil plug back in.....
Got in got my parts in timely
Just bought a Snapper mower from Southport Lawn. They delivered, took time to help us get to know the equipment, and did not pressure us into buying! Best of all they will service the mower - it will not be sent out of state!!!! Great service, great people😁
Ive been in here quite a few time looking for parts for my trimmer. They do their very best every time and if they dont have what I need they will order it. It does not take very long if you have to order things. The girls at the front counter always seem to be very sweet and happy. If they know they cant find something they will ask just to double check before they tell me they dont have it. I appreciate how hard they try to see if they have it before they give up.
This place has completely changed for the better with the new owners!!!!!! They were so friendly.!!! Took my mower there for service knowing it would take 3 weeks to get it back. It looks and runs like brand new! I couldnt be happier. I would recommend them 100% to anyone!! Best mower place in town, I would never trust anyone else.
Took about a month for repair but due to warranty red tape. Personable employees and repair was excellent.
They have worked on all of my lawn equipment and they stand behind there work and they are very friendly and fair with their prices
Conveniently located on Madison. Good selection and help acquiring a new lawnmower. The only drawback is the 3 and a half week wait on my 4 year old mower. The new mower was prepped with gas and oil. Also, received assistance loading new mower into vehicle.
Had my lawn mower fixed here and it was a great experience. Everyone that I encountered was friendly and always smiling. They were very accommodating and tried to help me the very best they could. When I first inquired about getting my lawn mower fixed here they were almost 4 weeks behind in service, now they have informed me they are only about 2 1/2 weeks behind. Pretty efficient if you ask me. If you need a mower fixed or even parts make sure to come to this store.
Been mowing 20 years, last few years customer service was bad at this store. Happy they have new owners. They called me today and ask if they could help with any equipment needs. Will give them another shot. Easy and close location in Perry Township.
This place is awesome! Josh went out of his way to help me figure out my new blower. He was really patient with all my questions. I will definitely buy the rest of my equipment from these awesome people!!!!
My family has been going here for years. I finally had a need to go. I had great service and they were honest and fair! I wont go any place else. Its hard to find a trusted company.
This place is awesome go here for all my snapper needs. They are patient with you and are very kknowledgeabl. Always going to shop at this place, thanks again for all the help!
Dropped off my snow blower early in the morning and the service department had it repaired by the end of the day. Try and find a service department that does that in todays world. Awesome job guys.
Bought my Simplicity zero turn mower here. A little confused by other reviews. It took me a little over a month to make my purchase. I visited there shop at least 6 times asking questions. They were always helpful and answered all my questions. They took the time to show me several mowers. The person who delivered my mower was great. He asked if this was my first zero turn mower. He took the time to show me around my new mower. He also showed me how to start and operate my new mower. Very happy with the service I recieved.
The new owners have really turned this place around. The customer service is now outstanding. If you haven’t been here recently stop by and give them a chance to earn your business.
Very rude people. I went in there today and the man was on the phone and appeared to be on hold. Not once did he acknowledge me, make eye contact with me and I was standing in front of him! A couple days before I called about the part and before I could thank the girl and ask the price, she had already hung up on me.I have lived coast to coast in my 58 years and these people rank high in no customer service etiquette and also rank high in some of the rudest people I’ve had to try and do business with. I took my business elsewhere and got what I needed with good customer service. I will drive 10 miles before ever stepping foot in that store again! They lost a customer.
Polite and helpful.
I BROUGHT IN MY SNOW THROWER IN ON MONDAY AND THEY HAD IT BACK FINISHED CLEANED AND RUNNING ON TUESDAY AFTERNOON, I WILL BE TELLING ALL MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY TO USE THEM FOR ALL THERE NEEDS. THANK YOU TO THE SWEET GIRL AT THE COUNTER WHO HELPED ME GET EVERYTHING IN AND THE NICE GENTLEMAN WHO HELPED TAKE OUT AND PUT BACK IN MY SNOW THROWER IN MY CAR.
Very helpful. Just dropped in and they spent about 30 minutes fixing the head on my weed wacker. They didnt charge me anything and it was fixed. Unusual service these days. Ill take my business there from now on.
Always a great experience! The employees are friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Never a hassle to take in our equipment.
Service has a little to be desired. Charge for shipping, to the store, if they dont stock the item. Refused to send it to my home. And then called and said they had the parts. Only had 1 part of 2. So I had to make a second trip two weeks later to get all the parts. And no we are sorry.
I have a new snowblower and the auger would not turn. I called the folks at Southport Lawn for help. They sent a truck to my house within the hour. Next day they repaired the snowblower and brought it back to me. I can’t say enough things about them. Friendly and eager to provide top notch service..will not go anywhere else in the future. Great Job Guys.
Worst customer service I have ever seen. I called and let them know I would be there right at 2 pm to pick up much neeeded parts and employees were pulling out of the parking lot right at 2pm rather than waiting an extra two minutes to accommodate a customer. I will never spend a dime here and suggest no one else does as well.
Took my chainsaw up here just for a tune up and they did amazing. They got it done within the time frame they gave me, they were very polite every time I have went in for anything.
Im sure these guys are very knowledgeable however the rapport that they have with customers is horrible. The guy that works the front desk is not very customer friendly . I am beyond shocked in knowing how these guys stay in business . Ive given this shop multiple opportunities to redeem themselves in about one out of three visits I have a good visit .
Fast friendly, professional and always have what I need for my lawn equipment
Changed oil...and sharpened blade in a few days....great!
Great mower shop. Super friendly and knowledgeable. Thanks for all the help!
Grate service got what I wanted and was on my way.
Dropped my mower off there for repair. They said it would be two weeks. I called back two weeks to the day. They said it was scheduled for work the following Monday. I called back after three weeks. I was told that it had not been repaired but was in the front of the line. I told them I would be down to pick it up within the hour. Unbelievable! How do they stay in business?
Good honest owner
If I could I would give a minus 3 stars. Went in to buy my first garden power tool from Dannemillers Lawn and Power. That will also be my last. The young lady with dark hair and bad attitude needs to be fired. She is rude, talks down to customers, lazy and not willing to help or answer questions about the equipment for sale. She also has a smart mouth while ridiculing you. I dont need that. The short guy in the black hat seen what she was doing and interceded. Only then was I able to get some good answers. I going to back to Home depot where you can buy Echo Products with a 5 year warranty, no questions ask on returns.
When repairs on my 3yr old (out of warranty) Stihl blower didnt go as planned, Customer Service stepped up and went way above and beyond all reasonable expectations. Thanks again.
I will never go here again. It was a good place to get parts. Customer service sucks. Cant rate any lower than a 1 or they would be negative.
I would rate them a negative five stars if I could.I have never been treated so rudely. This was the worst customer service I have ever had from a business. It was not just one of them either, it was both men at the counter. They will not get another dime from me.They dont deserve your money either.I will drive out of my way for parts from now on.
Horrible customer service. The little guy is their leader, and hes the worst of the bunch! The positive reviews you see come from Napoleon and his henchmen. Please do yourself a favor, and dont buy anything from this store. Its less expensive elsewhere, and you will receive much better service.
Great place to bring your equipment to get service and great customer service.had my old riding lawn mower repaired. They found the parts that no one else could find for it!!
I spent $375 on a backpack blower...Went home and realized it wasn’t the product I needed. They have a no return policy, but they were able to work with me to get me fixed up!
They are the best. I get all my work done here.
Stihl dealer/ repairs. Very helpful staff.
The girl behind the counter is no help, straight smart ass and rude. evidently shes screwing the boss or owner because its clear she knows nothing about lawn equipment and they choose to keep her employed anyway! I went to get two bolts for a muffler for my lawnmower. after she got seriously rude and mad and accused me of putting after market parts on my Toro mower someone else found them for her she tried to charge me $32 for 2 8mm bolts. last time I will shop at Dane miller !
Needed a part for my old mower, they were the only ones who had it. The price was better than most online sites. I will be back in future. Thank You
Its got what I need I have no problem getting stuff from them
This establishment will likely have what you need and the expertise however the customer service and experience are deplorable each and every time. Nothing has changed with this in years and you just have to put up with it due to the lack of competition in this industry. I recently had to purchase some parts of which some were special order. My wife and I were in the store on several instances due to a few wrong parts being sold. On some instances both of us where there and others just her or I. They are consistently rude, extremely slow, and have the attitude of not caring about you or good customer service. If you align your expectations to be poorly serviced with a terrible experience to get what you need then you will be fine. As a side, note, I have used this organization for over a decade and in my earlier years in commercial lawn care.
I have been going to this god awful store for years because my options are slim to none on the southside for commercial equipment. I have spent 10s of thousands of dollars at this store. Jeff is a arrogant little man and needs to get out of the business. Amanda knows nothing about the lawn business and has a nasty attitude. I remember when a lawn mower shop liked to help there customers not like this place. I recently went in for a warranty repair and was told Toro would not cover my cracked frame because of my negligence. I went 30 minutes north to a different shop and got it covered on warranty. If you want to be treated like garbage visit this store!
The folks at SLE are some of the best and most knowledgeable people when it comes to lawn equipment and small engine repairs. I’m the type of guy that can break a dern lawn mower just by looking at the blasted contraption so I freaquent this establishment on an abnormally high level, everyone there is just always so helpful and never pass judgment - even the time I took in my wacker because I filled with straight gas instead of a mixture and then it wouldn’t wack any weeds. They just got me fixed up and I was wacking those weeds again in no time. Quality work at a reasonable price, that’s what you’ll get at Southport Lawn Equipment!
Great place for all your lawn and garden needs
I will never step foot there again. They acted annoyed I had questions. They seem to work more for professional lawn companies in my opinion. I told them my mower was vibrating very badly and they said they had never heard of that. Ive heard people complain about that over the year,s I find hard to believe no one has ever given that complaint on a push mower.
Idk how this place is still in business my grandpa bought a 8,900 Ferris from them and i was trying to buy parts from them and iv been on hold for 20 minutes and they told my gmaw that the pto clutch was bad and that they would damage the motor taking it off well from the pto going bad locked the motor up i was able to get the pto off and i was going to buy one from them and nothing but on hold hold hold lazy service department and poor customer service they lost a customer today my grandfather spent alot of money with them before he passed
This place is the very worst with regard to customer service. I will never come back nor recommend to anyone. There is zero management and the service clerks pick and choose who they help regardless there place in line. If there was a rating less than poor Dannemillers deserves it.
They were informative and helped me make a choice on a leaf blower that I purchased. Very friendly.
Pitiful customer service. 11/4/16, Amanda sold me the oil cap, instead of the fuel cap, for my Stihl MS200 chainsaw. I had to drive 10 miles, to discover that it was wrong & another 10 miles, to return the oil cap & get the right fuel cap. While I was there, I asked Amanda to sell me the chain that was designed for my saw & bar. She sold me the 61PMMC3, instead of the 63PMC3. When I got home, I noticed that the cutter top plates, of the 61PMMC3, are smaller, than the 63PMC3, so, I was skeptical. 11/5 (Sat.) I called the shop; got a guy, in back, that didnt know what all the numbers & letters, of the marketing designation, stand for, so, I did some research & found out, since the shop employee didnt offer to do any research, nor did he know if I was sold a proper chain or not. 11/7 (Mon.): I called back & asked to speak with the mgr.; after holding, about, 7 mins., a fellow answered who, when asked, told me his name is Jeff, so, I asked If his last name is Dannemiller; he said: yes. He didnt know any more than the guy I had talked to on Sat., so, I told him that, not only was the chain, that was sold, to me, for a different bar (one designed for 0.043 drive links, instead of 0.050), it was designed for a 7-tooth sprocket, instead of my 9-tooth. He didnt apologize, or offer any remorse gift, like a free chain. None, of the 3, seem to care, at all, that I had to do the research, will have to make a 3rd trip, & couldve ruined the chain, bar, sprocket & hurt myself, if I had tried to run the chain that was sold to me. After I return the chain, I wont be back & will tell everybody I know, that might care, about how I was treated.
Ive gone to the store once before (a couple years ago) to buy a weed eater carb adjustment tool. They sold me one, granted at a price double ive seen elsewhere, but I needed it. Today I went today and need another, yet slightly different carb adjustment tool for a different piece of equipment. They told me they couldnt sell it to me because I wasnt certified. I told them I has bought one from them before which they denied, then finally one of the guys told me that they did use to sell them. I have worked on my own vehicle since i was 14, worked on private jets and commercial aircraft for a few years after 2 years of university and certification and moved on to work on passenger trains which I do currently. I just smiled and walked out. I hope ebay/amazon ruin their parts sales. These guys are of very little use to me. I wouldnt be sad if they went under. You need to work with your customers in the age of the internet, not switch stories and tick them off! Im glad Im in good company on this review board.Signed- The guy with two mechanical degrees and 15 years of experience in many fields, yet deemed too stupid from a parts monkey to fix a 2-stroke leaf blower!
The rudest customer service I have ever experiencedBasically accused me of lying and after I complained the said they really value their customers. I hate to think what they would do if they didnt also I will never take the recommendation from another. Wibc Saturday morning show
Good place to buy parts call your mower
This place is a joke. I bought my Echo wead eater there and my Echo blower, both had 5 year consumer warranties with them. I started having issues with my blower bogging down on me and dying when i had the thing on full throttle. First off I called to get the hours and the guy was a complete dick on the phone like he didnt have any time for questions. Secondly, when i dropped the blower off i was told it would be free because of the warranty. When i came into pick it up they said i owed 51 dollars for them having to clean it because i had bad gas in it. Gas that i bought 6 weeks prior and had been using in my mower and wead eater since then. They are a COMPLETE rip off and dishonest. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND YOU TAKING YOUR BUSINESS THERE.
Great service and the guy at the first register is very helpful and courteous.
I walked out. I took my lawnmower to another place.they were so rude and unprofessional. I would not recommend them at all. No customer service skills.
Best people to work with on the South side of Indy.
Wont go anywhere else, they do good service and give good advice
They said there is a two and half week wait until they could work on my ridings mower. When I went there there wasnt any cars in the parking lot and the service manager was sitting with another employee, at the counter, no customers in the store.Sold me a part that was in an open bag.Ended taking mower to C&C. Took them two days to fix my mower.
Girl on the phone rude cant wait to get the part i ordered. And be done with this place wont be back
I am writing to respond to your response to my original posting. I have been waiting for service since March 16, 2019 not 2018. I would wager that if I had wanted to trade for a new mower youd have been here Johnny on the spot.
Had the part needed in stock at fair price
I went to this shop for a warrenty repair and they charged me for the repair. They said the warranty company would not cover the repair. When I called the warrenty company the company said its covered. Wow thats shady
Truly the worst customer service ever, inept or corrupt probably both but definitely the later, why did I not look at these ratings earlier?!
They had what I needed
Everyone there is rude. High prices and the worst customer service Ive gotten in a long time. Sarcastic remarks, very short and inconsiderate. I will pay twice as much and drive 100 miles out of my way to not buy from them!
Sharpened my lawn mower blade
Very rude, acted like I should have 20 years of mower repairs when asking for help.
Very helpful
Great service
Very rude people.
They were rude and didnt really care at all what you thought about it
Ordered part for me.
Not to friendly.
Great
