I cannot recommend this place enough. First of all, they serve tinker coffee and it is incredible. They also offer beer and wine. When i was there, there were couples on dates, students studying, and friends getting together. Great place for several things. The ping pong idea is so fun, but Id also just go for the coffee and atmosphere. They also have some board games for a different type of game.
There arent many coffee shop/beer/wine shops in Indy that are open up late right now, but thankfully this spot is. There is a small lot to park in, plus ample spots to park on the street surrounding. Plus they have a great spin on the coffee shop / bar theme which includes ping pong. This place has a cozy atmosphere that you can go and just chill with your friends with a drink if youre not in the mood for ping pong. Great spot!
The staff was super friendly. I had a cold brew which tasted delicious. Even though ping pong doesnt typically start till 12, they let us play. Played ping pong for an hour and a half for 10$. Good price and lots of fun. There is an area above the ping pong area where you can sit and watch people playing. Also some sound proof rooms in case you wish to grab your coffee and sit in silence.
Really cute place. It was my first time there. They have a variety of coffee, tea, beer, wine, pop, etc options. Food is just snack items but also available. Half of the location is the ping pong tables and the other half tables. Employees were nice. We were there on a Sunday afternoon and it was not very busy so seating was available. If you are looking for it right on Ohio, it is off the street. Suite A is right on Ohio and its entrance is around back. There is meter parking on Ohio and a small parking lot around back next to the entrance to Smash.
Top Notch! Great place to hangout and drink or play ping pong. I did not expect it from the name, but they actually know how to Make Tea!! The actually use loose leaf and properly brew. Their coffee selection is also top notch, they use natural ingredients, allowing you to actually taste what you are drinking rather than the coffee syrup bombs that you find at coffee shop chains. Havent had a chance to try their beer and wine selection.I absolute enjoy this place and I only wish they were open during the weekday so i could work from here!
Apart from caffeine, the best thing about this coffee shop is the totality of the place. You can revel in your coffee and dessert while taking in the stillness of the atmosphere. The cushions and long chairs also add to the stylish look of the shop. Their menu is affordable but with an assured heavenly taste. An absolute go-to place for everyone who wants to think or simply desires to get a cup of aromatic coffee.
Ive been sitting on this review for 6 months now. Im hesitant to post because I feel like no matter what I say, I cant do this place justice. (And I selfishly dont want more people finding out about it)But here goes: Whiskey Tavern is hands down my favorite bar in manhattan. The staff is incredible, they remember your name, what you drink, details about your life and they welcome you with open arms every time you come in. I think Ive celebrated almost every one of my friends birthdays here, the super bowl, SEC championship, promotions, new jobs, etc. at this place. They are always super accommodating and really all they want is for everyone to have a great time. Ive even brought my parents here and Whiskey Rob made sure they had a great time and felt the love too. (Pictured)The food is also amazing. Its your typical bar fare, but its just really really good. All that said, dont walk, run to whiskey tavern and tip them WELL! They work so hard and they really deserve it.
Ive never been to a place like this. Its an amazing atmosphere, extremely welcoming and very comfortable. I made instant friends with compete strangers. If I lived anywhere nearby I would be back tomorrow. This place is amazing if I hadnt already said that 😂😂
The staff were unbelievably nice and helpful. I even asked a really dumb question and they were just super nice and friendly. I was left waiting for maybe 30 seconds and the bartender profusely apologized.I went at about 10pm on a Saturday and didnt have to wait for a table at all. It was a lot of fun. The place was really clean. They had these little quiet rooms where you could go if you had a phone call or just felt overstimulated, which I thought was unique. A staff member brought around free cupcakes at one point. I had a great time and felt very welcome there.
Such a cool place! Snacky food is on the menu but nothing to be mistaken for a meal. Beer selection is small, but mighty. Ping pong tables are sweet! Great place to hang out!
This is such a fun place with quality ingredient food and drinks. highly recommend.
Had a really great time here with a group of friends.Played ping pong for over 2hours. All the ping pong equipment was well maintained. The staff was very friendly and checked on us.There were a variety of people studying, hanging out and having fun.
Really awesome enviroment! People are super nice and the atmosphered is very chill. The options at the bar, they have any type of coffee to local beers. Will visit again when i go to Indiana.
Super dope place. So aesthetically pleasing in there. Drinks are really good. Tables are nice, good room to play. Great place to chill, do work, or play some ping pong.
I went on a slow night and had a blast, but I wish it was a little less expensive. Plenty of ping pong tables were open, and my friend and I ended up playing doubles with other patrons. Beer selection was solid—something for every palette. Overall, fun experience, but not somewhere I’d go every weekend
Nifty little place, lots of space with variety to wide open to separate personal quiet rooms. Nice little variety on coffee menu that you probably wont find much anywhere else. Not a bad deal on ping pong!
Great late night coffee place with plenty of seats and quiet corners plus lots of tables to play ping pong!
Such a cool place. We had our rehearsal dinner here. Great staff and service.
Ive managed dozens of events and Meetups in Indy, and this is a hidden gem for small or large groups with A/V available. Solid selection of local/ regional beer and wine. Excellent coffee; attention to detail with espresso drinks on par with other top coffee shops in Indy. And, of course, the ping pong is a blast with ample room. Sweet decor. All around awesome social club experience.
Cool place. Good selection of beer and wine. I’m excited to come back and play in the tournaments at the end of the months.
Its exactly what they advertise it to be. The rates you pay are per paddle, not person, which is nice. The food was good but the menu is pretty limited to coffee, beer and snacks. Do not go expecting full entrees. We went as a family of 6 at 5pm on a Saturday and was able to use 2 out of the 6 or 7 ping pong tables they had for most of our 3.5 hour visit. It was a lot of fun. Laid back atmosphere and very friendly staff. Overall a good experience.
Cute little coffee/bar with a twist. The ping pong tables and paddles were well kept. There are plenty of balls and we never had to go chasing down a ball to play.We got their chocolate popcorn, and it is well worth the try if you like salty and sweet snacks!
Unique.place, solid coffee. Hoping to get over to play some ping pong soon!
The place is super nice, friendly staff and nice area for ping pong. However, two downsides : They close very early for a bar (8pm), and the ping pong is kind of expensive - $10/person, but mostly the closing time. I mean what kind of a bar that closes at 8pm? I dont drink but I was very happy that ping pong was included, itd be great if they open to 12am or even 1 or 2am.
Friendly environment. Private sound proof rooms to work in. Great lounge area separate from ping pong tables. A wonderful experience all around!
Awesome location and combination. Great little coffee shop/beer&wine bar with a fantastic spin! I cant wait to go back
Smash is one of the best new arrivals to downtown Indy. Its a super chill coffee shop atmosphere with open ping pong tables and a selection of wine and beer. Its a great place for a small group gathering if you are wanting to hang out downtown and avoid the crazy bar scene
As a lover of table tennis, I was very as excited to drive down from Fort Wayne to try this place out with friends. The decor and vibe is cool. They offer a nice selection of coffee and craft beer, which is cool. However, I almost had a heart attack when I discovered the cost to play ping pong. The bartender said it was $12 per person for a day pass!! He was quick to add it also includes paddles and balls. Which, I should hope so for that price! I couldnt believe it. $12 per person! So it would have cost my two friends and me $36.00 to play. What if we arrived closer to closing time? would we still have to pay for an entire day pass to play? And by my observation, it didnt seem like there was any specific table that was reserved for you. It seemed as though you could play on any open table. So does this mean that if it happens to be busy, and I buy a day pass for $12... theres no guarantee of when a table would open up and when I could play? The place does seem cool. But I was extremely disappointed in the prices they charge to play. I could see $12 per table for a set period of time (maybe an hour). But charging $12 per person is unacceptable in my opinion. Id say this place is only for avid ping-pong players who plan to spend the entire day playing. But if you and your friends are looking to have fun drinking and playing a few games of ping pong... I wouldnt recommend it for the prices they charge. We ended up going to another bar in Indy with ping pong tables that only charged $10 to rent the table so all of us could play. (oh, and yes... that also included paddles and balls).
Very fun place! $12 per person gets you as much ping pong as you want to play. Beer is very reasonably priced too
Very neat place to go and hang out with a group of friends or host a corporate event. Friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere.
This place is really cool. Definitely a good place to go to hang out or for a quick/casual meeting. The coffee is really good - I didnt get anything to eat so cant speak on that. The design of the space was really well done. Its a pretty unique place with the pingpong tables - however if youre not playing pingpong and people come in to play, dont expect to be able to concentrate/study/talk to people!
Great Chai latte thats brewed to order. Nice atmosphere and ridiculously soothing to have ping pong balls bouncing around. Could use better signage and parking.
Great place. Great pricing. Great for small events.
While I think this space is unique, I found everything very expensive. It is 10 dollars per person to play ping pong which I found to be very steep. While that apspect is unfavorable, for those unwilling to part with their cash they do have some card games you can play for free while you hang out.
Chill environment where I can get work done. Has WiFi and alcoholic and non alcoholic drink options.
Hard to accurately rate, since we were the only ones in there, but good equipment and friendly staff made it a very fun evening!
Good coffee. Fun atmosphere. Great place to study or just hang out.
Great atmosphere, hip, welcoming. Great place to study or even hang out. Good coffee!
Bougie little cafe that serves coffee as well as beer that isnt too expensive. they have several ping pong tables as well as reservable conference rooms and loft lounge area. great for groups!
Interesting idea. We had a fun time. Ping pong was $10
Awesome coffee shop/ping pong bar. A lot of space to hang out if you dont want to play, and a perfect ping pong area with a net so youre not chasing balls around everywhere
If you like ping pong check this out. Cool idea...
I love this place! Great coffee, extremely nice staff. Would absolutely recommend
What a great place to relax, talk, work, or play ping pong!! The staff was so friendly!! I will definitely be back soon!
Super cool ping-pong/coffee bar/bar downtown. Coffee, beer, and food are all great, however the parking situation needs a lot of work and the prices (in my opinion) are high.
The stuff was amazing and we were allowed to tape my web series here. Also, the drinks, atmosphere and design was fantastic!
Great place, mainly went there to play ping pong. There are 6 table and they gave you all the necessary equipment to play game.
Quiet, great for studying or writing. Pretty decor.
If you like ping pong this is a great place to go, they offer memberships if its the sort of thing you want to do all the time and otherwise its a great bar and cafe.
Nice and laid back. Small conference rooms to take business calls are pretty awesome
Good beers, good pong and a really fun loft area to hang out if you have a group.
Had a fun time at Smash. Great service. Fun ping pong.
Nice coffee shop. Easy atmosphere
Excellent and cool atmosphere! Definitely going back!
Coop place. Great butter beer latte that Harry Potter would love!!
Its like a mini SPiN Chicago. It was a great opening night.
Good option for team building.
Playing pingpong with your friends is a great way of socializing
Drinks, music, ping pong – amazing!
Great coffee and cool place to chill.
