Such helpful staff! The kitchen was screaming to each other in another language and all I know is they could have been screaming obscenities. The food was warm and delicious as always! They helped carry our trays to the table since we had a child in a high chair. The high chair was very loud when going through the line. Our server seemed to be covering a large area so we wanted to make sure we tipped him. They are all doing the best they can!!
I hadnt been to MCL for several years, and decided to go today for lunch. Their fried chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy inside. Our sides were cooked perfectly and were well seasoned. Well be back!!

Taste of home. Excellent comfort food in a buffet style. Big booths and tables in a nice setting. Ive been eating at this restaurant since I was growing up as a kid. Perfect for families, a favorite retiree hangout, and anyone who wants a quiet sit down place. Especially popular after Sunday church services 😁

I would give zero stars if possible, went to call in a pick up order, they answered the phone and immediately put us on a 5 minute hold, they finally picked up after 50 minutes of being on hold. The manager Adrianne ( I think that’s how you spell it) straight up told us that they had forgot about us being on hold. Meanwhile, the whole time we called from two other phones and they didn’t even answer just picked up the phone and put us on hold! I’m a general manager to a hotel and I would never treat my potential guests this way! It was very unprofessional and they lost business that night, I frequent at MCL because I don’t always have time to cook a meal. Her attitude when she finally got on the phone was atrocious. And for that simple fact neither I or anyone of my friends and family will be going back to that spot as long as she is the manager!

Try their blue plate special with good chicken and noodles. It was fine. But the two sides were really good! The green beans tasted smoky wow I also have acorn squash. I’ve never seen that before at MCL! It was fantastic! Cinnamon sugar. Delicious exclamation

You guys are awesome! Not like the one on 10th and Arlington. It’s like the red carpet of MCL‘s and I love it. The Decour is nice the food is delicious and the employees are awesome. I was not made to feel like I was less than who I am. The manager on 10th St. has a lot to learn and a lot to be desired. I think you should retrain him at this location on how to treat customers.

Every one on the staff was polite and helpful I got there not too long before closing time and had a big order to go to get and was unable to call in the order prior to getting there so had to order at restaurant and even with only a few minutes to spare and such a big order I was greeted by each person I interacted with everyone One wore a smile and talked courteous and was very helpful with the dinner I needed to go thank you MCL and all of your staff for the great customer service and all of your help with getting me exactly what I needed to make my family have a great meal and family time together tonight you all did a great job see you again soon....

I go to MCL (located at 5520 Castleton Corner Ln. Indianapolis, IN 46250) specifically for the Thursday Blue Plate Special (Liver & Onions + 2 sides + bread)!!! I go during busy lunch time and place my order at the Carry-out counter with a pleasant & friendly Manager who also prepares my order to go. Theyre always so nice and the food is always fresh, hot and delicious!

Mcl use to be the best place to eat .if you wanted to eat vegetables and a variety of other foods .But lately not as good .I had some green beans tasted like they just pour out of the can .No seasoning.The Chicken was tooo salty .And I bought a drink that was $1.69 with no taste .They went up on their food price and serve you less . .Dont eat there as much as use to.The employees where all nice and friendly ..
The food is pretty dry most of the time. The Covid safety changes are too much. I would expect ketchup packets and lazy people at a fast food restaurant, not at MCL. Get some real bottles of condiments and wipe them down between users. It takes 5 seconds and no one is reduced to disposables.
Love the fried chicken. I usually get two vegetables because they cook things you cant always get elsewhere (beets, lima beans, cabbage). Dont forget the clover rolls. They make a good piece of pie 🥧 too.

My family went there after attending a funeral.The food was great a little bland but i understand why. Our waiter she was great..very attentive and kept our glasses full and tables clean. Great staff and would recommend to attend again.

The have carry out, delivery service through doordash and other delivery apps.They also have lunch specials as well as dinner specials. Try the stuff chicken breast.

My experience at MCL, it brought back memories of when my grandmother took my sister and me there to eat on Sundays, the food was spot on, and the service was outstanding, so if you want a good home cooked meal MCL is the place to check out.

I havent been to an MCL in several years because they left the city where I live years ago. So we went here for nostalgia reasons. This restaurant had very friendly staff, and looked high end with nice couches in the lobby. Of course the fried chicken I came to love years ago was a nice trip down memory lane and as good as ever. Im from Fort Wayne and this was in Fishers IN.

My grandmother and my parents always liked MCL, with friendly people and consistently good food. My kids grew up taking them to eat there and now whenever we visit Indiana its a must have for them. Great unpretentious home cooked food and delicious pies.

We love MCL :) My mom has been taking us for the past 34 years, and now its become the ultimate comfort meal. My favorite is the Mayfield Platter with Mashed Potatoes and Gravy, Green Beans, and Roast Beef...and any pie! I also, love the side salad with poppy seed! So good!!
I was so looking forward to the corned beef & cabbage on New Years Day, but it was a great disappointment! The meat was tough and more fatty than any corned beef should be. The serving should have been twice the amount we received in order to have an edible serving. At least the cabbage was good, but the serving amount was very skimpy. Cabbage is not a very expensive vegetable so you would think we would have gotten more than a spoonful. Overall, a very disappointing meal.
I got the pecan pie for my dessert. It was 99 cent Thursday for the pie of the week. I got chicken wrapped over stuffing. Mashed potatoes with chicken gravy. And some green bean casserole. A dinner roll that was very soft. And a Pepsi. Oh! And some deviled eggs. The staff was quick and very helpful. The bathrooms were clean. However I only had a credit card and no cash for a tip for our waiter. We felt very unsettling when we went to the cashier and asked for change for a twenty and they told us that they couldnt give us change unless we bought a gift card. So we left the waiter a tip with some change of coins that we had between the two of us. I would recommend this location cause they are in a good neighborhood. Also because the price is not too bad.

I have ate at MCL several times over the years and sone tines the food is good and other times its taste is not to satisfying the Roast beef is sliced to thin for the Manhattan the serve way to much mashed potatoes with it the pies are filled with to much filling and other items could use some improvements how ever the Spaghetti is very tasty. The noodles. Are soft and the Meat sauce is tasteful. Over all there food is pretty good

Not even half of the container it came in. Pie used to be a nice slice. Very disappointed and a huge waste of time. MCL is a place you come to if youre looking for comfort food that is descent quality for great prices. It is cafeteria style and there are a ton of options to choose from. They offer many entrees, salads, desserts and drinks. Service is always friendly. I would definitely recommend this location.

The food is always good, and a great selection. I love their fried chicken, chicken & dumplings are right good too. The pie selection was pretty good. Our family gathers there when we are in town.
