Ive been eating here for probably 20 years and its wonderful. The food is consistently high quality and they have all of the Greek standards that I love. My wife is not a huge fan of Greek food, but she likes it as well. Keep in mind that, even though it seems like its right downtown, its actually slightly South of downtown and theres always plenty of easy parking right next to the restaurant without having to deal with parking meters,

Gyros are fantastic and so is the tzatziki! Feta appetizer is always on my order with extra pita and tzatziki. Easy to dine in or pickup since it has a parking lot in back.

Best hidden gem around. Food is top notch. Family run.

Its a small local restaurant with a nice sized area to eat and some outdoor seating. Good fresh food and decent service.

Food was ok. Seasoning not on point part of my food was under cooked part of my husbands food was over cooked. Service not so great. Server couldnt answer questions about product didnt check on us never offered dessert but she definitely had time to get her smoke break in.

Opa!!! Oh my tastebuds were absolutely delighted to find the food was just as delicious now as it was 25 years ago!!! This is still my favorite Greek Restaurant that I tell people they must visit when going to Indy!The memories that came back while dining in the restaurant with my fiance was almost overwhelming. The Saganaki was just as delicious as I told him. It makes me sad I live so far away. Thank you Indy for giving them the love the deserve! So grateful to walk in there after the past few years of chaos and see them still thriving.

I have been a long time patron of The Greek Islands and I will continue to enjoy their wonderful family owned restaurant. The menu is absolutely perfect! If you want a large delicious feast or perfect soup and salad its here. Authentic Greek cuisine at affordable prices and HUGE helpings. If you are planning a trip downtown it is a MUST.

Food was good but nothing that really made it stand out. Menu is small and easy to navigate. Good prices. Friendly staff. Nothing wrong with Greek islands but it wasnt impressive either.

Hidden gem here!! If you like greek food THIS is a good place to go. The staff is so friendly its like you are at home. Our server made recommendations for us, our food came fast and it was so good. We went for the gyros abd they did not disappoint!! So good. We will definitely go back!

Opa! What a treat. We were walking to the recommended Italian restaurant, but the kitchen smells pulled us in. Nice Macedonian wine with dinner. Great light fare (hummus...),real complex bechamel sauces too.

This restaurant feels homey, and follows Xenia, the ancient Greek code of hospitality, well. The food was very good, and the restaurant had good service to boot. If youre looking for Greek cuisine in a laid back, casual environment, go here.

Well for the food is was traditional and good but it was for the lack of service .. Or sitting people right behind us when the whole area is open .. Or argue that google has the wrong pictures so its not yalls fault that the plate that came out was different.. But the food was good a bit pricey but still good .

Tiny salad for $5 not worth it but The Gyro meat was delicious.

What a treat! Our family decided to celebrate a birthday and the Greek Islands was a perfect getaway. The food and service were great. The music and belly dancer were an added bonus. We loved the flaming saganaki and the Greek Islands combo. Our birthday girl was even treated to a free baklava! We expected good, but got great!

Excellent. I got the saganaki and the waitress made it have a great flame. Dinner came with a lovely fresh salad. I had the stuffed flounder which was very tasty, but I didnt love the bell peppers in the stuffing. The gyro plate was very good, with the lamb very tasty and well seasoned.

The food was really good. I was a bit disappointed that they were out of the wine we wanted and out of the dessert we wanted. If not for that, I would have given them 4 stars. Maybe they will have both the next time we visit and we will definitely visit again.

This place is huge and can host a lot of people at a time.It has multiple food awards and it definitely lives up to the hype.Everything we ordered was made to perfection.My favorite was the lamb rack, which the special of the day.The staff is very friendly and the service is prompt.You can have an upscale experience here without burning a hole in the pocket.

Hands down best Greek restaurant in indianapolis. Spicy feta very tasty. Gyro tender and fresh. Stuffed flounder filleted nicely with great stuffing. And the avgolemono was perfect with lemon and egg.

Ok the flaming cheese was good. The rest was not. The food was cold and the green beans were disgusting unless you like tomato sauce all over them, I didnt. The Around the Island was not worth 22. 00 Dollars and the Spinich pie meal my husband got was diffently not worth 15.95. The food was cold to lukewarm ... only reason I gave 2 stars was the cheese...

Delightful and fast Greek spot with all the usual fare. The staff are consistently amazing and treat everyone well. The food is priced reasonably (for downtown) and portions sizes are good but not huge. The dining room is very busy at lunch but they keep it moving.

Great staff, honestly though food just wasnt very good (We ordered; spicy Feta, the fire cheese, and 4 different entrees) the only one that really was good was the baked chicken. Rest were pretty bland, and they were out of Hummus! 6pm on a Saturday, Greek Place, our of Hummus, really! If it wasnt for the staff this would have been 2 stars, I personally wont be going back.

I was stuck in the snow at home watching travel shows on Youtube in Greece and thought to myself I need pita now! So I decided to order in some food from this location. Ive never had their food before and I was so impressed! This was some seriously delicious Greek food! The sampler of sauces was awesome, I dont even like eggplant and that spread was amazing, the spicy feta is boss! It was expensive but worth every cent, and next time Ill not order as much, the portions for lunch were huge, Ive got some great leftovers now too!

We’ve been coming to Greek Islands for well over a decade now, and I’m sad to say my recent experiences have not been nearly as good as what we remember from years past.There are still highlights that keep us coming back. The saganaki (flaming cheese) is a delicious and fun appetizer experience! I always order it along with one of their wonderful old world wines when I’m bringing friends for their first time. For dessert, the baklava is so rich and decadent with the perfect crisp and flakey top.However, our main courses have been pretty forgettable lately. Dishes like their gyros, souvlaki and tzadziki really used to stand out with the flavors of fresh, fragrant herbs. But it seems like they’ve cut back those ingredients and the dishes just aren’t as good. Most recently I had the chicken gyro, the meat was pretty dry and it was accompanied by only a couple small pita triangles. I’ve also missed the side of Mama Fofo’s delicious potatoes in my last few meals. The bland pilaf is just no substitute.The last few service experiences were also not great. Though friendly, our servers have also been inattentive. I’ve stopped going for workday lunches because of the delays. And we’ve also missed seeing the belly dancer during the weekend dinner service.I’m hopeful they can make some adjustments and get back to the amazing dining experiences we once had here.

Fantastic food. Everything I ate was delicious. The Greek beer was passable. The severs were friendly and spoke Greek. They even taught me a couple phrases. Highly recommended.

Greek Islands is our favorite restaurant! Not only because I proposed to my wife there 26 years ago, or because they are the most friendly people on the planet, but because their Gyro is perfect. It tastes the same now as it did 26 years ago. Warm pita, flavorful gyro meat, spicy Tzatziki. And don’t forget to order your own saganaki flaming cheese. Opa!

We need more places like this in town. They truly go out of their way to make sure everything is perfect. They understand the value of each and every customer to their business. If there is a problem, give them a chance to fix it while you are there. They don’t want you to go away unhappy. They want happy customers who come back for years. This is a really great place had a gyro wonderful, price was really good staff very friendly decor very pleasing.I definitely will return I did have some menu issues today where they were out of certain items so I look forward to returning when they are fully stocked.

Went here for the first time yesterday, and have to say easily the best Greek food in town! We started off with hummus and had the gyro dinner entree. Didn’t expect to have a side salad with our meal, and it was phenomenal. The owner was also very friendly and upbeat, and can safely say he takes the time to ensure a great experience for his guests. 10/10

We love eating out. Yesterday we visited this excellent restaurant which we didn’t know before. We had a beautiful time there with high-qulity dishes and an efficient stuff and a talented chief cook. We put this venue in our phone list and we shall surely come back very soon. Highly recommended.
