Big thank you to the gentlemen at Tyler Auto for the fantastic, quick service! As a young woman who doesnt know much about cars I am not always the most confident when communicating with auto shops, but not with Tyler Auto. They send digital inspection reports (with pictures!) that are easy to understand, and Sawyer went above and beyond to explain the issues listed and answered all of my questions in-depth. Plus, the technician generously fixed a leak that a previous shoddy transmission flush (from another shop) had caused, free of charge. I will definitely be returning for all future car maintenance.

I’ve only been here once. But when another garage was jerking me around I took it to Tyler 15 minutes before they closed in a moment of desperation. They ended up doing my rack and pinion, tie rods, and alignment. Pleased with the price and how long it took. They really came through when I needed help.

As a younger female, in the past, I have felt as though I was taken advantage of by car repair shops, as admittedly, I know nothing about cars and dont care to. I started going to Tyler years ago when I first started driving and Tony and his team took great care of me, always going out of their way to fit me in to their packed schedule and just generally being friendly and reassuring during the stressful process of car maintenance. Once Tony sold his shop, I worried the service would go downhill, but it has remained consistently great. I was never overcharged for oil changes or recommended repairs I did not need and theyve even gone out of their way to get a replacement part at a cheaper price for me. I no longer live in Indianapolis, but I highly recommend Tyler Automotive to everyone looking for an honest and reliable auto mechanic. It is refreshing to know people like this are still out there.

To start they were very polite and knowledgeable. However, I dropped my car off at 9am and they said they’d call when they completed the test drive and inspection to determine how to move forward. I received no calls, texts, or emails. I called them at 2pm to ask about the status of my car. To then be told there was an issue with the transmission and since that don’t work on those, there was nothing they could do. I understand that and that’s fine. I would have just appreciated some notice from them earlier instead of waiting for hours and hearing no response. In that amount of time I could have picked it up and taken it to someone who works on transmissions, instead of sitting at home waiting by the phone.

I was able to schedule my appt online and get the day/time that I wanted. Phillip called me to give me a status update and discuss some items I wanted him to check. Then he called me again when it was ready for pickup. This place is truly awesome and I highly recommend.

We’ve been customers for over 20 years. No one could beat Tony Tyler in terms of expertise, exceptional customer service and impeccable honesty. When he decided to sell and retire, we were happy for him but upset for us. However, the new team has carried on the tradition of service while incorporating new technologies, such as a post service inspection report sent electronically. Tyler Automotive has reviewed used cars we were going to buy so we knew what the real deal was, serviced all of our cars from new tires, new brakes, repairs along the way and regular maintenance like oil changes. There’s never been pressure, and they’ve never told us we ‘needed’ something that we didn’t. You can trust them with your safety!

They inspected brakes that I was told needed new pads by dealership and let me know there was still plenty of pad because of the amount of highway driving.Battery was tested and replaced with a quality AC/Delco battery. Good to have before we get into the colder months.

I had a problem with starting the engine. They were able to get the part they needed on the same day, and they fixed my car within 24 hours. It was great cause I thought it was gonna be longer.

Both times Ive taken my car to Tyler Automotive Ive had positive experiences. Last year I got my front brakes redone and spark plugs replaced. This time I had an oxygen sensor replaced and my coolant exchanged. Phil called me and let me know that the coolant was overdue; I had no idea. They are always really prompt with their work and clear in their communication. Both times Ive dropped my car off the night before (easy process) and it was done by the afternoon for me to pick up. The work is well done and priced fairly. They are definitely my repair shop of choice!

I took my car to Tyler because it sounded like my brakes were grinding. A few hours later I received a call and they said that the brakes were in good shape and did not need to be repaired. They easily could have ripped me off or replaced to make a few extra bucks without me ever noticing. They did perform an oil change while the car was there. I was able to get the car back on the same day! Fast service and honest. Im impressed. They also have a cool vintage vending machine in the lobby FYI. Ill be back.

Was charged $67 for a diagnosis that you could just look at, never was pulled into the shop, quoted an estimate for over $900. for a cv axle repair and ball joint on an 06 jeep liberty. i had it done at another shop for $160.00. tyler automotive must hate working on cars and just loves to make money.

The new ownership has made some wonderful changes as well as continued the history of Tyler Automotive providing great and reasonably-priced service. They continue to be trustworthy and do not try to convince us to fix things that dont need repairs or replacements yet. I really like how in December, that the owners a putting a percentage of their profits toward four nonprofit organizations and/or schools. And they let the customer choose which one of the four we personally want to support. Great idea and a great way to support the Indianapolis community!

I came upon Tyler because of a special order tire. They ordered the tire, not asking for a dime in advance. They were always letting me know what was going on with the tire, when it would arrive etc. The tire was installed quickly and professionally. We will use Tyler in the future. Finding mechanical help that you trust is difficult, and from what Ive experienced here, well be back.

Ive been going to this shop ever since Gary Thrapp suggested it 20 years ago. Tony retired and the new ownership maintains the same level of service and price while bringing the shop into the digital age.

Tyler was recommended to me when I moved to the area and now I refuse to take my car anywhere else. Honest, fair and highly capable. What else can you ask for from an auto mechanic?

Called on Wednesday because I needed my front brakes replaced and they got me in on Friday. I was able to drop off my car on Thursday night and they had a service report sent via text to me the next morning outlining what they found during their inspection and provided their recommendation what needed to be replaced. The Car was ready by the afternoon and because were currently under the COVID-19 stay at home order, they sanitized the car and allowed me to pay over the phone for a no contact pickup. Well contiue to bring our car here for repairs as they are responsibly priced and local.

I have been to a couple automotive shops around Indianapolis. I actually live in the downtown area, but have started coming here because of the type of people working there and the service. They seem to be honest, and will gladly answer all of my questions. I always try to learn about what’s being done to my car, since I don’t have much of a background in car maintenance beyond oil changes and filters and bulbs. It makes me happy that Tyler Automotive seems to be glad to talk to me and the work they do seems to be great!

I heard a sound coming from my car on Friday at 1pm and not only were they able to test drive it that day, they were also able to diagnose the problem! They thankfully squeezed me in on the following Monday to fix the issue and were so efficient with everything that it was ready for pickup before they closed. My first time there and they were amazing!

Their professional approach is courteous, and they explain everything going on with your car in understandable terms. My wife and I are longtime customers. Tyler Auto has always provided excellent service. My only comment is that it’s difficult to get a prompt appointment. Generally it takes 4 to five days to get the vehicle in for service. In some case this is fine. I’m some cases it would be nice to get an earlier appointment.

I was very pleased with how quick, friendly, and affordable my experience at Tyler Automotive was. I used to take my Jeep to the dealership for everything, but Ill never do that again. Repairs were more than half the cost of the estimate my dealership gave me and repairs were finished within 24 hours of making an appointment.

I have been going to Tyler Automotive for years, and will continue to go to them since they are consistently very honest and trustworthy. Just last week, as I was driving to work, I noticed I had a flat tire. I pulled off on a side road close to Tyler and called them (Luckily I was close by!). One of their mechanics actually walked across the empty lot (in the cold morning) to visit my car and assess the situation! It ended up being a bigger issue than just a simple flat, so they put on my spare (so I could get to work on time) and spent the day researching options for me. This was all without an appointment or anything. They worked in time that week to get everything ready to replace on my car so that when I came in on Friday for my pre-scheduled oil change they could fix it all right there. Excellent customer service, and very timely!! They will work around your schedule and keep you updated every step of the way. I feel like a top priority every time I visit Tyler Automotive. Highly recommended.

Tyler Automotive went well beyond the initial repair to make sure I was in good shape and set up for things to expect down the road (no pun intended). They did not charge for things that others might have charged, putting our relationship ahead of immediate dollars. I am now a customer for life.

Phil, the owner was amazingly helpful on what a very busy day at the repair shop. I was across the street at Lowes whem I came out to find a nearly flat tire. Despite a lot full of cars to be serviced that day, and it being their lunch hour, Phil went over and above the call of duty to help with providing me with a new tire. His efforts are greatly appreciated!

Went to Tyler Automotive for the first time based on a friend referral and was extremely happy/satisfied with my experience. Great, fast job fixing my leaking radiator... however originally brought the car in to get amber front lights fixed and this was not addressed (they forgot) until I was about to leave.. then they realized it wasn’t an easy fix. My car had been there since 8am. They offered to look into it but they were literally closing and I needed to get home. Slightly frustrating.

These people are the best. Honesty like you’ve likely never experienced from a mechanic. Knowledgeable would be an understatement. Friendly. Understanding that your average person doesn’t have cash laying around for emergency maintenance or repairs. They’ll go out of their way to save you money by addressing the musts, not sales goals. Competed work faster than quoted, 2 days with no notice for RF wheel bearing .All seems fine, noise and vibration gone as I thought it would be.Not the cheapest, certainly not the most expensive for my Lexus...but all to my satisfaction.

Had a low tire pressure indicator light so stopped into Tyler Auto where I have gone for years. Paul found a screw lodged in the tire and fixed it in the spot.Always helpful especially when you have an emergency.
