Super friendly fast serive. Great prices. Will definitely be going back for my car needs
Hey you guys Im not really sure about any other Midas locations but the shop on Illinois is by far the best in my opinion. Mr. Bob is always so kind and politely friendly. I have been going to them for about two years now and they have me in and out in no time flat with great work behind them.
They charged me for parts they did not replace and labor they did not perform. I will not be back.
Emailed them Wednesday for a Saturday appointment. They emailed back implying they dont do appointments, and they told me to just drop off the vehicle Saturday, they open at 7. I did exactly what I was told, only to be told in-person that they were completely full. The site explicitly says they do appointments, why would I not be able to make an appointment?
They also do a good job working on my car
Pricey but they get the job done
Ive been to this location a total of 3 times. The 1st time they replaced my alternator under a warranty repair, and everything went ok. The 2nd and the 3rd times however not so much. My 2nd visit i came in for a transmission fluid service. I conducted my research beforehand and found out that the valvoline at +4 they use is compatible with my vehicle. I verified this thru alldata and valvoline. Upon dropping my car off the service writer (bob) tells me that they cant do my transmission service because alldata and valvoline are wrong. I was very upset with his response. My 3rd visit i came in for a thermostat replacement. I drop my vehicle off at 8am. My car isnt even touched until 1pm. By 3pm Mike (service writer) calls me to tell me that my car is been taken apart and they wouldnt be able to get my thermostat until 3 days later. What kind of shop starts a repair without making sure they can get ahold of the parts 1st? I use my car for work so I lost a whole days worth of work and pay because of this. Ive worked for midas before (about 5 years ago) and by midas standards this is unacceptable. They seem to be good at pushing customers away by not doing their leg work before the car ever enters the shop. I will most likely not be returning to midas or this location again
Cool oil change but they forgot to add some kind of fluid so they call me after I had left and got home. Plus I went in for simple oil change was told it was 29.99 end up paying like 70 bucks after they did everything so I couldn’t refuse it they had my key lbvs oh and this is the one on 10th and shadeland
I was pleased with a service very professional they explained everything to me it didnt try to overcharge me or try to charge me for parts I did not need
Was there for under an hour got oil change and estimates done pretty quickly
Horrible service. Couldn’t get to my 12V battery, even though All Star Tire & Auto Service down the road had NO problem the next day. They didn’t even try to help me. I would go anywhere else in Indy before I came back to this shop.
Everyone knows this place is not to be trusted. Im even convinced the good reviews are made up. This place is horrible.
Good service and if they have a special they will apply automatically, keeps me coming back
I would give zero stars if I could. Ladies beware, these guys will try and take you for whatever they can get away with. Brought my vehicle here to get some work done, they told me it would be $100 just to diagnose it. I agreed reluctantly. When I got the estimate of work that needed to be done no where on this estimate was the main issue I brought it in for. Which was the brakes, it wasnt until after I mentioned why arent the brakes included in this estimate did they add that to the diagnosis. This tells me that they didnt even look at that part of the car while doing their $100 thorough diagnosis I shared the estimate with my brother whos got 15+ years experience with auto care & repair and he told me nowhere on their diagnosis what they indicated on your estimate for $2000 + would fix the original problem you brought the car in for. Get your car out of there & fast was his advice to me. I would have my brother fix my car but he lives in a different state. When I mentioned my issues to the manager he laughed at me for the simple fact that I even questioned the shops honesty. So be very weary of this shop, these guys will try and screw you over big time.***update, my brother was able to fix my car while visiting Indy soon after i brought my car to midas. He fixed the brakes and the loud noise he said was a loose plastic covering piece on the top of my engine. He fixed that as well. My car is working great and as i suspected, the other $2000+ in quoted repairs by MIDAS were not necessary.
Took car in for repairs wanted to charge over $400 for replacing a tensioner pulley and install a new belt. Had to spent $100 to diagnose that the pulley was broke which was visible using a flashlight. They said they had put a lot of effort into finding the problem which if they knew what they were doing it wouldnt have been so difficult. They told me the new pulley would cost a little over $100 which I got at oriellys for $35 and the belt was only $20. They said it was very difficult to replace. I found that to not be true being it only took me 30 minutes with basic tools to fix. As you see in the picture the pulley is clearly broken. $100 to just to see what was very visable. Either they have a lack of experience or simply dishonest.
EVERYONE WAS REALLY NICE
Good place to get your car work on
They was quick and good prices
My friend took their car to this location for a simple oil change. Employees forgot to put oil in the car causing the engine to seize. After the car was taken back to the shop overnight they filled the car with oil the next morning claiming it’s been full. Now they won’t accept any responsibility on the damages they cause.. DO NOT COME HERE
Had an appt for wheel alignment and the representative told me they were 5 hrs behind and I could leave my car (it was Friday) and it “should” be done by Monday or Tuesday.... how ridiculous. Went to the one in Plainfield instead where they were very helpful and accommodating.
All I can say is they did a good job
Could not have been better! Both of the associates were very knowledgeable and efficient period and you just cannot beat the price.
Charged me for a repair to a tire, then tried to charge me to replace it when it turned out that it couldnt be repaired. Save your time and money, dont be like me.
Service is good but their systems for diagnostics must be out of date because it can find out everything wrong with my vehicle besides why my RPM is off, making the vehicle drag and why my car reads Im having transmission issues, the hood is open, the door is open, or check engine soon. With your vehicle saying all of that Id like to think they would have a solution. Ive went about 4 times and its always over looked.
They definitely try to get over on you just like some street mechanics. Someone needs to shut these people down.
Was in Indy for work & the day I was to drive home, I ended up with a nail in my tire. Mr. Wesley worked me in even though they were fully booked that day so I could leave for home after my meetings. No other tire place in the area was willing to do that. They got my tire fixed quickly & with fair pricing. Im very grateful. Thank you, Mr. Wesley!
I dont normally write reviews but I had such a horrible experience at this Midas that I feel the need to share it. I went in for a basic oil change and to get my headlight changed. Midas asked me to drop it off for a couple hours because they were so busy, which I had no problem with. A few hours later I came to pick up the car but I was only charged $55 for the oil change, not for the headlight (which had been out for at least 2 months). When I asked about it he responded to me, oh, your headlight is out? Yes, I told you that when I dropped off my car. He told me all the exterior lights were marked down as being in good working order...false. I explained that I really needed that headlight fixed and I was basically told that they were trying to close up soon so I should come back next week to get my headlight changed. Then the next day, on my way to Chicago, my car alerted me that I was low on oil. When my husband and I lifted the hood and checked the oil it was very low. We immediately called Midas and we were told that they werent sure why that happened. He told us we should go out and buy some synthetic oil ourselves and fill it up and that we would be reimbursed for the oil that we buy....not reimbursed for the $55 we paid them the previous day for the supposed oil change they gave us. So Im not sure what they did with my car for over 3 hours that day but it certainly was not an oil change or a headlight change. We never received an apology or an offer to be reimbursed for the $55 we paid them. Ive never experienced worse customer service and I will never be returning.
They got me in fast and were very polite and awesome. I wish they were doing more to protect themselves and other during the pandemic though.
Excellent customer service
Dishonest people
Took a bit longer for the oil change but still very pleasant and helpful
Ive been taking my vehicles here since 2013. This place is always fabulous and I feel like they take good care of me and my vehicles. I always get in quickly, everything is always explained to me well, and the prices are always reasonable. They are really down to earth people who do great work and give great advice. Last time I was there they gave me fantastic advice on where I should look around for a trade in. Great customer service! Even though I live across town I still drive back down here to visit this location.
Bob is great at the front desk--easy to talk to, understanding of issues, and flexible if youre a bit behind from when you said you would be there.I got very quick brake service with them, and then there was an issue that came up with my key not being able to start my car. They werent able to assist with the key problem itself, but they were able to refer me to some reliable options and were very understanding, allowing me to leave it in their parking lot for that service to come instead of having to pay to get it towed elsewhere.Great service, friendly, and reasonable, thanks Midas!
Have been taking my car here regularly for about a year and thought they were fine enough then they lost my hubcap and I started having suspicions about how carefully they were working on my car. Took it too a Valvoline just to see what they said and THERE WAS MOLD ALL IN MY CABIN AIR FILTER! And my regular air filter was disgusting. These are things they marked as green in my service report. Sad you can’t trust people to do their job all the way through and jeopardize the health of me and my vehicle.REVISED: all new employees was given a coupon for my issues and had a lot better experience
TL;DR: I would have saved a couple hundred dollars if they did the job right, and I would have saved hundreds more if I went somewhere else instead.I went to this shop for noise over bumps and a shaky steering wheel, and they suggested I get my sway bar link, control arm, and rear shocks fixed. I asked them to fix the sway bar and control arm, and I believe the control arm was fixed properly. However, the car was making a new louder noise when I picked it up, and it sounded like something was loose and rattling. The tech that drove my car after the repair should have noticed this. I returned the car the next day, telling them what was happening, and after I left it with them another day, they told me I also needed to replace my front shocks.I took it to another mechanic for a second opinion, and he told me the sway bar link they used was inadequate and wasnt tightened properly. He installed a new sway bar link, and that fixed the rattling in the front. He also replaced the rear shocks for half the price.I brought the old sway bar link back to Midas, and after the manager spoke with the owner, I was allowed to return the part for a refund. However, I felt I was entitled to a refund for the labor as well, considering they installed the part wrong and I gave them a chance to correct it the following day and they didnt. They denied me that refund.Im glad I didnt listen to them, or I would have spent another thousand dollars to repair front shocks that didnt need it, and my sway bar would still be bumping and rattling.
Had my water pump replaced on August 12th. 2019. Here is it August 7th 2020 and having to have it replaced ALREADY. Clearly i did not go back to this place.
Just tried to leave my car for an oil change. I called on the way in and I was happy they could get the car in on short notice, but once I got there, they asked if I wanted the most expensive oil change or the standard... literally the word standard means typical type for all cars... I told them standard was fine and he refuses to do it saying he wouldnt let anyone do that here, as if the STANDARD practice would hurt the car. Never going to Midas again.
Money hungry mechanic...$5000 for misfire. He tried it!
Service was great!! Employees super nice. Price was great! Will definitely be returning.
Under completely new management and a completely new crew. I had an oil change and a tire rotation and they found some things that I actually needed to fix - and some that I could leave for later. So much better than the dealerships or the oil change places that want to replace things that dont matter. This new crew is sharp. Highly recommend the new team.
Quick service at lower prices
I cannot thank Midas enough. We ran into a very unfortunate situation during our cross country road trip and Midas was more than accommodating to get my car back up and running as soon as possible to get us back on the road. They truly went above and beyond and had such great customer service. Thank you Bob and the rest of the staff!
The guys here are really great! I got my oil changed here once and then another time they put a plug in my tire because it had a leak. They were so generous that they put in the plug for free. The people who work here are very informative when something goes wrong with your car and are good people. I highly recommend this place!
UPDATED REVIEW:I have updated and amended a critical review of this shop. Although I believe I had the right to be incredibly frustrated with my original experience, I can respect a place of business that truly exhausts all avenues to make things right in the spirit of old school service. Here is a quote from my original review:AT first it was a front end suspension issue. Then a bad end issue. Then I get the car back and the cruise, ABS, hill assist, and ABS dont work. Then they fix that and those four things fail again one day later, and the check engine light comes on, and the car is telling me there is an issue with the emissions. We were almost stranded.Since my negative experiences, the owner has repeatedly attempted to contact me. He truly wanted to understand the situation and do everything in his power to make it right. Im now convinced that my situation was anomaly. Sometimes stuff happens.
Good service, fair prices. I went there for a standard oil change. Then drove about 1,000 miles before I decided to leave this review. I wanted to make sure their basic work and/is legit before telling other people. The experience was relatively quick - I mean working on a vehicle can take a moment or two, the price was budget friendly and the people are professional. Vehicle made it, at least 1,000 on a $19.99 oil change! If that aint value! Good golley, I dont know what is! Good job boys!
Brought my car in because I had a nail in my tire. They called me a while later saying they couldnt find the nail. I walked outside and just looked at it, the nail was clearly visible just with the car parked so it didnt seam like they even looked at it otherwise they would have found it. I walked back inside and told the guy at the desk that the nail is clearly visible. He walked outside with me and I showed him. All he had to say was oh, well its on the shoulder so we wouldnt be able to patch it anyway. Yea, thanks. If you would have actually looked instead of lying to me I could have bought tires from you. I didnt. They didnt care to actually help me so I didnt care to give them my business.
They were so very nice. They took me back and showed me just what was going on with my car and pointed out damage. Very good service.
I was unable to get any names except Brads who was the one who assisted me. I usually get my car serviced by Jiffy Lube which is usually cheaper than Midas but honestly the amazing personalities in that shop make for a much friendlier and engaging experience. The men are kind, humble, and knowledgeable!
I love this place. All of the staff are super helpful and nice. They can always work me in and have the work done in a timely manner.
IF I COULD RATE A 0 I WOULD! Went in just to get brakes fixed, almost 5 hours later i spent no joke $390 and my truck still sounds terrible and im beyond upset. After they fixed my brakes the told me they wouldnt put my car back together if i didnt pay to have my caliber replaced. Im a unemployed mother with a baby on the way and they took advantage of me and my money. I will NEVER go back and i hope this doesnt happen to anyone else.
Ive been seeing these guys pretty consistently for oil changes and tire repairs over the past several years. They recently changed ownership, but theyre as dependable as ever. I never sense that theyre upcharging me or looking for ways to fleece me. As such, I respect the job they do, and the fact that they deserve to make a living doing it.
I really want to give you a 10 but theres only five I was quoted $750 worth of repairs by another repair shop who I wont mention I thought I should get a second opinion so I chose Midas. And I must say I am thoroughly impressed I got an oil change and service my AC and I will be getting all my repairs done here from now on....... I also have to say that Wesley Hare was totally professional and impressive to me ... you know a lot of times car repair shops do not explain anything to women and make us feel awkward or inferior I truly thank him for explaining to me what was going on with my car and keeping me abreast on what the next steps were, which eased my mind, making me feel confident that they knew what they were doing ..... Wesley Hare and Danny you guys are the best .......Sincerely Kimberly Coffey
Since Daniel took over, this is the only downtown auto mechanic I would ever go to. Downtown Midas now fills a much needed gap in the downtown area. Great deals, great service, and they know their stuff.Edit: Daniel started in January, just 2 months ago.
Always have great customer service! I enjoy the convenience of being able to schedule online for whatever is needed, I drop off before work and pick up after work! Ive used this midas location for oil changes, batteries and new tires... all very reasonable, comparable rates!
I love the service that Wesley and Leon and all their guys gave me. I am always satisfied with this location! Thank you, Midas Downtown for being the GREATEST!
I’d just like to advise any of you looking at repairing your car at this Midas that if you are capable of watching a YouTube tutorial on how to fix whatever your vehicle’s issue is, refer to that before coming to this Midas location.I had Bob and Jade try to convince me that to replace both of my headlight bulbs, it would cost $135 for a whole hour of labor plus parts. Ended up questioning their judgement and figuring out how to do it myself, and bought the bulbs for 30-ish dollars. In conclusion, replacing both of my bulbs ended up taking me a whole... **twenty minutes** to replace my bulbs. For $35 dollars. I understand that these repair shops have to turn a profit somehow, but that’s an egregious difference.Save your money, time, and ease of mind and go anywhere other than here to have your car fixed.
Took my car here for the first time yesterday to get my brake line looked at and repaired. I had recently moved to Indy from out of state and hadnt had to take my car in until now so I was nervous about taking it to a new place. I was very pleased with the customer service and communication I received from their staff. When I came in to pick it up this morning, the staff showed me the old brake hose and explained what exactly went wrong, which I appreciated very much. Brake hose replaced and full oil change done for a very reasonable price- they gave me all their current discounts without me even asking! I will be back for future car needs!
Just stopped by to get some air in my tires for a 2000 mile road trip they were very accompanying and showed genuine concern for my safety. #nicepeople
They take very good care of me! Excellent work at a good price!
Love the customer service every time ♥️💙
Manager of this location is very knowledgeable of diagnostic issues of all vehicles. Great customer service !! Would highly recommend setting an appointment though, for they are always busy.
Manager Tom is great and always makes life easy. We all know car maintenance can be a pain but never here. They fit me in for an oil change on a day when they had 25 others on the schedule. Very happy.
Easy scheduling, timely service. Customer transportation option. Staff is friendly and professional, ready to give all the explanations of technical details. Coffee-machine and comfortable waiting room. Customers might want to check the promotions available, in particlular on the website, prior to check-out.
This is a really great place if you need any work done on your car. Fast service great customer service and honest staff also great prices!!!
I’ve had several positive experiences here. Highly recommend!
Its convenient but for a tire change over and oil change we dropped our car off at 10am and it wasnt available for pick up until 5pm. We had specifically requested brake pad replacements but instead of doing that they simply checked them and told us the condition. We know what the condition is and we want them replaced regardless. Youd think a paying customer would get the brake pads replaced even if they have some use out of them. Its not like they were doing it for free.
Made an appt online but it did not go through when I showed up they still manage to put me in took about 40 minutes but I was really impressed in comparison to the dealership that I usually go to. a lot cheaper too. manager and assistant manager were very nice and helpful. will be coming back here instead of going to the dealership
I took my vehicle to Midas at 1210 North Illinois St. on 05/16/2017 at 4:40. I was having an issue with my air conditioning system. I was dealing with a lady that told me the price to fix my a/c was going to be $142.81 and the repair was guaranteed for 90 days. On 06/01/2017, I took my vehicle back due to the a/c blowing hot air. I was informed that Midas has changed over their staff and the person that I talked to was no longer with Midas. I left my car there and left. The next day I talked to a gentleman name Tom. He informed that the new price for the repair was $580.60. After thinking about it I stated that I was going to pass on the repair. However, there was the matter of $142.81, that I was told was guaranteed. Tom stated that I was out that amount of money. I believe that given the facts that this Midas is dishonest. I would not recommend using this Midas for any repairs. I will be contacting the BBB to get some resolution. This is very poor service in my opinion.
Needed brake job done, called in he morning...Brad said bring i in and by 5 PM my Infiniti was done. Great service, reasonably priced. M wife always is happy when she picks up her Honda Element. Excellent Customer Service!!!!!
Always keeps your car going for u
Friendly and accommodating....however......I took my truck in to have the rear and front brake pads replaced. They quoted me a better price than the dealer had 2 weeks earlier, so I went with Midas. Dropped off the truck and picked it up that evening only to find that not only had they neglected to replace the rear brake pads (3mm left on the pads according to the Toyota technicians at the dealership), they replaced the front rotors (which the Toyota technicians at the dealership said I didnt need). If you can stay while they do the work and look over their shoulder the entire time, I suppose this place would be okay. However, if you want to drop your vehicle off assuming that theyll do the work youve asked them to do unsupervised, go with the dealership.
Place is under renovation in the shop but they still got me in and out no problem Bob at the front counter is nice and curtious. Thank you for getting me back on the road guys!
They worked quickly, and really worked with my financial situation giving me all the discounts they could. I really appreciate the service
Helpful people, really awesome attitudes. Brad helped me a lot with my car. Stayed after so I could pick it up and really went into detail my problem. Didnt rip me off either. Glad I came back
Midas does good work but steer clear of this shop . Only go to this shop for very minor repairs. Its hard for them to take advantage of you when you both know exactly whats wrong with the vehicle. Any extensive repairs go somewhere else even another Midas. You have been warned.
They charge you $110 an hour for labor and they more than doubled the price of the part (autozone and amazon had part for $90—they charged me $250). I will never go to this place again because they took advantage of me knowing very little. Do yourself a favor and just don’t go there.
Daniel and his guys made me feel like I was their #1customer! They didnt try to overcharge me because Im a woman! I liked that about them, will definitely be a return customer for all my truck needs.
Stars for great oil change price, but be very aware after that! Ive gotten several oil changes there, but with each visit there is something different wrong with my car. Recommend getting a second opinion with any diagnosis they give you. Also, Ive requested a tire rotation with every other oil change. Most recently I checked to see if they actually performed the rotation, which they did NOT, even after I requested it and they never mentioned why they didnt do it!! Ive had enough and wont be returning, even with the low oil change price...
I dropped my car off to get the tired fixed at 9:30am. I called at noon and they said my car was next in line. I went to pick it up at 5pm and they just got to it. I did not leave until 5:20pm. I was not happy being lied to and pushed to the end of the line when I brought my car in top of the morning. Tire was properly fixed but bad customer service!
Always quick and super nice
Estimate was extremely high in my opinion but staff was more than helpful and answered all my questions
To preface, my husband and I have had both cars serviced at this midas prior to this occasion and though steep the service both mechanical and customer wise, was greatly appreciated. Neither I nor my husband write reviews however I feel like our experience today called for it.I arrived at 700 am on the dot to get my car services as I had set up an appointment by phone with the manager himself, Wesley Harris. Upon entering the store I, a long with my husband greeted the man, and stated that I was here for my 7 am appointment for a few tests to be run. I was told that I had no appointment set up and that if I would just leave it with me, Ill get to it when I can of course my husband was enraged, quickly asking what that meant which was replied to with equal parts vigor and sarcasm that I called her(me) and talked to her about coming in monday well, doesnt that then constitute a reservation or an appointment? So my husband angry, of course must be goaded to walk out of the door, and I return to face him only to be told thatI wont be taking the business. ThanksSo to get a clear idea of it. You messed up. Then decided that instead of admitting you were wrong, you scorned, berated and basically antagonize the customers into leaving and wasting business opportunities. Please, do your self a favor, Wesley Harris is a sham, a shark and a bad manager, dont go to this Midas. Stay away
Ive been here twice, once for a hose hanging off of my vehicle, and another time for a bad relay. Each time I came, the woman at the front desk was very nice, and very straightforward with every customer I saw her interact with. She cautioned away from paying for things the customer didnt really need, and was always upfront about what things would cost, and why. They are one of the only places in downtown Indy that have been able to get me in on short notice. I will definitely come here again for more work. The only criticism I can give is that the lobby/waiting area is very small, and they could use a new TV. But I didnt come to a mechanic for the TV, so it isnt a bug deal.
The store is closed at 6pm and I drove to there at 5pm to read the error code for the engine check light. The front desk refuse to offer the service saying they are short of labor to do it. Ask me to drive to autozone. Very poor service and I will give 0 star if I can.
Did my synthetic oil change, replace that squeaky old belt and made the car run better for a cooperative price.
I was having Issues with my vehicle and called my local Midas, where I had work done before. I also have family members who have taken their cars there and spoke highly of their customer service, but Teresa, the manager there, in particular. I was relieved when Teresa answered the phone and was as patient and understanding as the reputation proceeded her. Teresa went above and beyond to work with me and find a solution- ultimately remedying my qualms, concerns, and vehicle issues! Since then, my car has been running well and I am so thankful for Teresa and her dedication to customer service! Satisfaction guaranteed!
The workers are great but the manager has horrible customer service. He’s rude and very very unprofessional! Go spend your money at Tires Plus or Downtown Auto they always treat their customers well
Paid seven hundred for tire and an alignment 5 months ago. Tie rod snaps and suddenly I need a whole front end 900! Was I set up or nah?
I got a flat tire I arrived a few minutes before closing they still agreed to change my tire. Great customer service
Ive gone here a few times for oil changes and routine work. Always a good experience. I dont think the online scheduling works well though Ive called to confirm before and not had the appointment I booked online be in their records and this time when I booked it then confirmed a completely different time for me than the one I selected.
So my mom is getter her car fixed and we really need a car rn but they playing games now my mom can’t drive to work in the mornings or get my baby brother to daycare but the problem is no updates saying her this will take some day or something and she called during Horus and to her surprise no answer and the didn’t call back after the fact but at least I think they are working on the car and Ik they are most likely busy but it’s been 4 days no response
I went in to get a light bulb for my turn signal and then gentlemen that was working there ended up giving me the lightbulb I needed to fix my car and I asked him how much he said well dont worry about it will get you next time very nice person also
The store is not fully staffed, can’t seem to keep people employed. I have called a few times trying to get an appointment and always get asked to be called back, but never receive that call.Made a appointment for Monday at 7 am, the store doesn’t even open until 7:30, I arrived at 650am and waited until 745, then left ... I called back up until 8:15 when finally someone answer, I voiced my concerns about just getting off working 14 hours and how no one was there and I was put to the side again stating “ I have someone in front of me right now, can I call you back” ... I am thru with this store, called the Midas on 11th East street Mr. Bill stated “my light is on and the coffee is fresh, come on over” :)!
Good morning out there in internet land. Okay so I had this simple thing a spare tire I needed separated from the rim... after calling around various places downtown I was really surprised no one would take off the rim for ONE tire without charging a lot. Midas did it in less then 5 minutes. I needed a brake light replaced so they got the business for that bonus moment. AND they will get my continued business for oil changes and such. GOOD job guys way to be there for your customers and going a little extra to earn the trust and satisfaction of of a new customer!
Great price for oil change. You just have to make appt.
NEVER AGAIN. NEVER AGAIN!!! Midas Oil Change at 1210 N. Illinois. Came In for a quick oil change bc I was passing through downtown. I’ve been here 2 hrs bc they don’t have an OIL CHANGE FILTER. That’s like going to KFC and them not having chicken. 🤔😫😡Then I’m told I need a new tire. ‘Sure, please!” 40 minutes later....’sorry actually we don’t have one right now.” 😡😡😡😡😡😡.
New employees give much worse service. Ive been taking cars to this location for 5 years for routine maintenance and had my first truly bad experience this week. I was charged double what I had paid for oil change in the past. They did not do some work I had asked for, probably because I did not purchase 2 tires they recommended. So now Im going to have to take it somewhere else to get the other items taken care of. Previous staff always took good care of us, now it seems this shop has become the sterotypical rip off. Buyer beware.
Great work and friendly and reasonable
Took our car to patch a tire that had a leak. They told us it would be $40 to cut off the lock lug nuts on the one tire in order to remove it from the car, plus $240 for a new tire because it was unrepairable. We decided to take the car to the dealership to save the $40 since they have a key to remove the lug nuts, and ended up just paying $25 dollars for the dealership to patch the tire. When I told the dealership that Midas said it was unrepairable, they were thoroughly confused. We then found out from a friend in the industry that Midas guys are all required to go through “sales training”. These guys are sales first, mechanics second. I’ll never ever go to a Midas again.
Sucks balls, but the place will change your oil. Theyll tell you your car is all messed up when it may or may not be. Its not like theyre going to show you whats wrong with your car so you can see it and know. They told my girlfriend her serpentine alternator belt needs to be replaced and she has a massive oil leak. They told me my shocks were leaking fluid. Both cars have been working *just fine* for a long time.It feels like they check random boxes in the sheet they hand to you containing their visual inspection data. There were a lot of question marks in the comments. I left the paper in my girlfriends car, so I cant give you a picture, or I would.I dont really know whether they changed my oil, but they get three stars for probably having changed my oil.
