I have had service previously with Castleton Auto Repair and found their work to be top-notch. The necessary fluids (coolant, brake and power steering) were flushed and replaced. They found a problem with the rear brakes due to a faulty emergency brake cable which caused serious damage to one rear wheel - apparently been causing brake pad drag to the extent that the pads were completely worn down and damage to the rotor occurred. This problem was not found by another auto repair operation just a week earlier!I can trust them to do their work with excellence and timeliness.

Brakes work great! Loved how they took time to explain engines to my two year old. We already have another appointment for a timing belt and oil change. Good shop.

My mechanic retired. After looking at service centers and reviews online, I chose Castleton Auto Repair. Theyve been there a long time, so they must know there stuff! These guys are awesome, they didnt have to replace all brakes, just the front. So that made me very happy, price was better than I thought too! Ive found a new Auto shop!

Owner is rude, petty, and unprofessional for no reason. I was denied service because I was upset that my car had been at this shop for two nights with nothing done to it? I didn’t insult anyone or was overly rude, I just expressed my frustration at the fact that I had called 3 TIMES throughout the day to check on my car and they said “you’re next” every time all the way until they were closed. Then the owner calls me to yell at me for being upset? Telling me he doesn’t want my business? Gladly. He obviously doesn’t know how to run a business.

Ive taken both my vehicles to this shop for a few of years. More than once, Ive been astonished by their honesty in telling me I didnt need something. In my experience, Ive always been very satisfied with their work performance. Repairs always done correctly, auto returned in a timely manner and prices appear to be fair. Facility is also clean unlike many other garages Ive encountered over the years.

I love the new lobby my kids really enjoyed playing with the toys and play house, they also have snacks & drinks/coffee for you while you wait love this place so convenient for a mom like me because children just are so full of energy its hard to go to places such as these because they get so bored this is my go to 4 now on .

Do not bring your car here. This place is a rip-off when my mother told me what they were charging I did my research and found out that they were charging her $350 for a $100 part. I decided to call the shop and ask if we purchased the part could they just charge us labor a man says sure but the cost of labor will be double, I advised my mother of the rip off they were running but she had already had her car towed there so my mother spoke with the owners wife who tried to assure that this was the best price then they offered to give her a discount. When they finished the work the quoted the same price from the beginning my mother then asked about the discount to which the man because of your daughter I won’t give a penny off. This man is rude and racist please do not bring your car here.

DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!!! Fixed the problem and it went smoothly but then later found out something else was broke in the process. They wouldn’t fix the mistake they made!! Wouldn’t even own up to it. Screwed my single mother over!! Tried to say they would fix the problem only if we bought 4 new tires which we can’t afford! Awful service!! The owner also cussed my mom and brother out in the lobby in front of other customers! AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL!!!

Worst service ever I called to get a quote they quoted me 225.00 i then had my car towed the owner mr trump called and said now its 924.00 the part was 330.00 i search could not find this part for 330.00 the most this was for was 150.00 when i went to pick my car up i I was 3.00 short I had 921.00 mr trump refused to release my car until i bring him 3.00 I would not ever go here again they took the advantage of me because i am a female very nasty people do not go here

Called around noon to have some unscheduled repairs done. Im a plumber and my van is my work space, they managed to make the repairs and communicate with us to ensure efficient drop off and pick up. Very friendly. Will be pushing to get more of our Vans repaired here!

Took my Vette in for an alignment this morning. Asked to have it done by noon, if they werent too busy. Jim, didnt make promises but said they would try and get to it as soon as they could. Got a call around 11:00 this morning saying it was all done. Walked over to pick it up and was charged a lot less for the alignment than anywhere else on this side of town. What a wonderful surprise! Their competitors wanted to charge me a lot more. This is the second time Ive had them work on my Vette, not counting and oil change. I will keep on using them from my repairs. Thank you Castleton Auto Repair for the fair price and fast service!!

These guys are great. They didnt charge us and arm and a leg, and they were very honest. Theyve checked over used cars for us and even bought our totaled vehicle. Would highly recommend to anyone in the castleton area.

This placed lied to me about working on my car and ripped me off $180.00. They did nothing to my car but tow it and let it sit just to tell me nothing ilis wrong with it when clearly there is. Horrible place to take your car.

Got my front wheel bearings replaced on my 2010 Jetta. They did a great job although the total was about $200 higher than the estimate. They did work with me and gave a 15% discount. I had to resituate one of my brake rotor dust covers too but it was a simple fix. I would go back.

Fast great service!! The owner son even give me a ride to the hospital and back while they were working on the car because my in the NICU community North!

Brought in my 03 escalade to replace wheel hub assembly, (no appointment) and he fixed it with in about an hour. No price gouging or even trying to find stuff that didnt need fixed. These guys are fair and honest, I will definitely be bringing my vehicles here anytime I have a problem.

Update: Took my van to a reputable auto shop and found out that 3 out of 5 of my driver front wheel studs were broken. Im told I was lucky my wheel didnt come off on the interstate. Not only could I have died, but it cost me another $250 and a day off work to repair the damage Castleton Auto did to my vehicle. I emailed CAs owner, Toby Trump, to make him aware of this and to let him know that I still feel a refund of the $270 I paid to have my van damaged is fair. I havent heard back. Shameful!Ive never left a bad review before for any business ever, but Im stunned at how poorly I was treated at Castleton Auto. I try to do most auto repairs myself since Im on a very tight single mom budget, but I needed help getting my synchronizer timed properly and took it to Toby and the crew at Castelton Auto last week. I was charged $270 and am told by other mechanics that the bill shouldnt at all have been so high, but I was just glad to have it done. When I drove my van home after they timed it, there was a very loud clanking noise coming from my wheel that got worse the longer I drove. Took it back to CA the next day and the technician said that he accidentally forgot to tighten my lugnuts on the driver front wheel. He tightened them, I thanked him, and left. On my way home and over the next couple days, I noticed that front driver wheel was wobbling (the shake was noticeable and made my steering wheel shimmy). I called and asked if theyd take a look at it to see if driving with loose lugnuts could have possibly damaged my hub or bearing. Toby told me to bring it in and I did. He called a few hours later and told me I owe him $90 for his time and that the hub & bearing are fine...no damage was caused by their accidentally leaving my lugnuts loose. I respectfully let him know that my wheel didnt have that wobble before this and he told me hed put new tires on it for $499. I told him I didnt have the money for new tires right now and he started literally yelling at me in the lobby. Told me I was wasting his time and that I should get off his property and find another mechanic. I was surprised at how irate he was...I was being calm and trying to be patient, but I could hardly get a word in as he berated me. I told Toby and his wife that Im happy to take it to another mechanic, but that I just spent almost $300 that I could barely afford to have my van become dangerous to drive (I cant go over 60mph without it shaking so much, that it feels like the wheel could come off). When I asked if hed be willing to do a partial refund, he yelled at me to get off his property and that hed call the cops. I waited in the rain in the parking lot hoping hed have the chance to calm down and talk with me to find a solution. No such luck. I just dont get it. Ill be contacting the BBB and the State Attorney Consumer Affairs Dept and Ill be leaving this review on every website I can find to warn others about giving their business to the rude and incompetent Castleton Auto.

After having our car for two days, following up with THEM to check the status, being told each time “your next”, they told us they didn’t want to work on the car and to “come get the keys”. All we wanted to know is when it would be ready since we were stuck in a town we didn’t live in and needed to get to work!!!

Ive gone to Castleton Auto for more then 20 years. Its a family run business, I can always count on them to be honest, give me a fair assessment of my cars needs and they stand behind their work.

I have taken my cars there for years even though I live near Mooresville. I trust them. They tell you when NOT to do service and are really great. I read some other reviews and couldnt believe the stuff people said. They must have been a really random mistake because I have had nothing but great luck with them. I have my mom and wife take there cars there too. Theyre GREAT and reasonable.

Bad experience. Overcharged me for an ac repair and when I got the car back the ac went out within 24 hours. Was told that it was coincidentally a new problem with the ac and wasn’t because of something they did. What a coinicidence. Original fix was almost double the original price I was given and they completed the repair without asking me if I was ok with being charged more or there was “more to do”. I ended up paying almost as much as a total ac replacement would cost for the first “fix”. the fix also took close to 5 business days for some reason?!?! After all of this they tried to charge me $400 to fix the “new issue” ok the ac they had just fixed! This was a couple years ago by now...my ac just went out AGAIN (the car is a 2012 btw) and it reminded me that I meant to originally leave a review when I had this experience with castleton auto repair. If I remember correctly, it was the owners son who worked on the car. when I spoke with him he came off as know it all and when I brought up that it was ridiculous that my ac would go out 24 hours after it was repaired and that it was supposedly a totally different and new issue, he acted like situations occur like that all the time and insulted that I would insinuate it was simply a poor repair job. You’re at their mercy....

Very knowledgeable had gone to the dealership before going here. They saved me over a thousand dollars in unessary work that the delarship said needed to be done to fix the problem. I will be returning here for any additional work that may need to be done in the future.

Owner is rude & got ripped off

I have been here several times and after my most recent visit I will never be returning. I had taken my car in to be worked on and upon recieving it, noticed that the problem was not fixed and new problems had also appeared! When I took it back to have it looked at I was met with a terrifyingly angry and irrational owner. I have never in my life been treated this way! It was a horrifying experience that left me afraid and out several hundred dollars.
