We had a very good experience buying a car here. John Pittman was very knowledgeable about the car’s features and very helpful throughout the process and not too pushy. We are excited for our new Atlas!
Victor was our salesman at Tom Wood Volkswagen and was great to work with, as well as Tim the sales manager. We had a great experience and appreciated the low-key and no pressure atmosphere. Knowing the car market is tough right now, for both buyer and seller, we felt we were able to negotiate a fair deal for both parties. Enjoyed the experience and wouldnt hesitate to return to buy from Victor and Tim!
Got a great car at a great price after working with a very knowledgeable, friendly and honest salesman. Johnny listened to our needs and gave us a few options to suit them. This next-level customer service experience and the LIFETIME power train warranty also means well buy from Tom Wood again!
Emma in service was the one to help us with the issues we had on our 2018 Atlas. I am so pleased with the customer service we received from her. She was patient, kind, and attentive to our needs and questions. She quickly worked to resolve our issues. Overall, it was a great experience.
Good communication with customer.Repairs done as expected. Straight forward processAll good experience
I had a great experience at Tom Wood Volkswagen! Everyone I dealt with was so amazing! I worked directly with Emma while all my repairs were getting done. She was amazing, sometimes it’s all about the COMMUNICATION in customer service! She was upfront and honest about what they were doing and what needed to be done. And Very helpful. Every member of the staff I dealt with was just SO kind and professional. My car came back to me good as new! They did a wonderful job fixing what the previous shop had broken. I would 100% recommend!!!
By far the best experience I have ever had buying a car. The customer service was outstanding. The entire sales room greeted me and are all very personable. Victor our salesman was able to answer all of our questions, was well versed in all the trim packages, and was able to guide me to the best fit for our family. It was a hassle free experience. I would recommend Tom Wood Volkswagen to anyone.
Service was fairly quick and the team was pleasant. My interior ceiling and seat belt cover was dirty from technicians handling the vehicle. I was able to get it cleaned with soap and water, but a little frustrating as it was a new vehicle. Txt alerts also were a great additions to stay informed during my visit. All in all, service was completed to satisfaction.
Scheduling was a little complicated. Once transferred back to service, a human doesn’t pick up and three messages on three different days to request service were unreturned. I finally called the Noblesville location to schedule there and they offered to schedule me at the 96 Street location since it was closer to my house. I needed an oil change and was interested in getting a remote start installed (all notated during the scheduling call.) My service advisor told me that my key fob had the button for a remote start and since it wasn’t working it was probably a relay issue and to bring it back in for service. When I later researched this, I found that remote starts are actually only installed on my vehicle that have a technology package, otherwise it’s after market. Mine doesn’t have a tech package . So even though I was interested in the service, no one at the dealership actually bothered to check to see if this was in fact installed on my vehicle in the six hours that they had it in their shop. When I finally was able to pick up my vehicle, I walked into the service area and the service advisor who helped me wasn’t there. There were three other people there who just decided to ignore me and not ask if I needed any help. I’m giving two stars because the shuttle driver Jackson was very friendly and professional. I will either go to the Noblesville location or drive to Avon and go to Andy Mohr Volkswagen.
I had the pleasure of working with Stephan and Kent, both were extremely helpful and knowledgeable during a stressful process. It’s hard to walk into a car dealership and feel comfortable in your decision and with the help from both of them I can say confidently I made the right choice! Thank you both again so much!
Tom wood VW on 96th street tuned my VW Jetta sportwagen up with Oil change and thermostat and clean Dpf filter rums like new again
Great experience! From the initial meeting when we just happened to see the vehicle while driving past, to getting the keys to drive it off the lot, sales rep Michael Garton was fantastic to work with. In particular, he was easy to talk to, never pressured, and made sure I was fully informed at all times. The GM, Kent Golden, also jumped in to help both via email and on the lot when Michael was busy. (Another sales rep helped when Michael was busy, and the money guy was great, too. To my embarrassment, Ive forgotten both their names, and dont have the benefit of their emails in my inbox. They deserve kudos and my thanks! They were great at their jobs, too.)They gave good value on my trade, and that process was easy. The truck I bought was absolutely as clean as could be before I took it off the lot. The powertrain warranty they provide is a big part of why I bought a vehicle there. Other warranties were offered (without pressure). I took it to a mechanic before purchasing, and they found nothing of note. They said it was in awesome condition! All in all, best dealership experience Ive had.
Service was fine. Scheduled a10K mile tune-up. Appointment was on time and went quickly. I specifically asked them not to take my vehicle through the wash. But the tech still took it through the wash and now my paint is covered in scratches which will require a paint correction.
Emma in service is amazing. I took my wife’s Touareg here to get the emission recall taken care of & Emma went above and beyond to get it taken care of immediately and worked around our schedules since the car was needed back same day. She was very helpful & communicative the entire time she had our vehicle. We would definitely recommend this VW dealer and will be returning in the future !
Needed to have replacement headlight bulbs, that I had purchased, installed. The installation was relatively quick and the cost was reasonable. I’ve found that the service department is very helpful.
Great customer service, we negotiated a great deal. Love my new vehicle, interest rate and payment!!! Couldn’t be happier!
I wanted to replace a five-year-old Jetta that had gone to the scrap heap after I hit a big deer. That car was our first with cruise control, automatic transmission, and air conditioning. I liked that car. Given the chip crisis in the automotive industry, this is not the time to buy a car. However, Tom Cook Volkswagen made it a simple, quick process. And now I am happy.
So past experiences at this location have been alright other than the time they didnt tighten a lug bolt down all the way and it came out completely. This most recent time I went for a multi point inspection. They had resent me old problems with my car which was concerning. After getting that figured out they told me it would take 6-8 hours. Well that turned into 1 week and 2 days. They continuously told me they would call and update but they never did. I ended up having to call them and every time they told me something different. One person told me my part was late in shipping but another person told me they had a part, but they didnt have technicians. After about 6 days they told me they had another part they had to install which they hadnt told me after the initial inspection. Well they finally finished it and I called to see and no matter how much information I gave them they couldnt find my car. I picked up my car and noticed a horrendous leak from throttle body, since they decided to use an old clamp. (one of the parts they put on) and soon after I noticed it went in to limp mode and now I have to take it back yet again. Overall my time dealing with the service department has been extremely poor from lying and terrible customer service to just poor technicians that cant even do their jobs right. Ive met rednecks with more mechanical ability. Save your time and go to another dealership or take it to a different shop. But they got everything fixed and taken care of soon after. But overall hated the experience. Tried to schedule me in for this leak they caused, which would have been another 140$ since they were going to try and do a whole different diagnostic like it was a new problem.
Cory was very professional and helpful. He did a great job helping me. However even though my car was first to be looked at when I picked it up it had not been washed or swept out as your signage promised. I gad to wait for Cory to do it.
Great service. I went in for an inspection, and the staff attended to me right away; the technician followed up and explained everything that was going with my car. This location is excellent, great staff and knowledgeable technicians. I would drive an extra 30 just for the service here, thank you!
We are the proud owners of an ID4 thanks to John Pittman! We had done our research, bht John was able to answer all our questions honestly, take us for a test drive, share what he loved about the car, and also be up front about supply chain challenges. We are very happy with our experience with John!
At the beginning of my experience at Tom Wood Volkswagen on 96th street it was not all that bad. Although when it came time for me to bring in my car and have maintenance on it is when things started to really go down hill. I was told it would take maybe 3 hours to get it fixed and I was all set to go. Those 3 hours turned into 3.5 days. The first day they did not know what they where doing even though on my appointment it stated why I had brought in the vehicle. Second day they knew what needed to be done but the Technician wanted to make sure I was okay with the price even though I had already confirmed that when I placed the appointment. Third and final day was like finally removing a Lego piece youve been stepping on but then having neck pain because you slept in a strange position. When I got my car back it had problems that were not there the last time I drove the car, so as a result I now need to go to a real mechanic and fix what is wrong. Now then I believe the worse process of all this is their form of communication. Want to call Volkswagen Services to talk about whats going on? Dream on my friend because they will leave you on hold and then hang up on you without even picking up. Want an easy to read email about what is going on? You have better luck going outside and spotting a 4 leafed clover. As much as I love Volkswagen cars and have in fact had better experiences at other Volkswagen dealerships dont waste your time at this one. Save yourself the hassle and go somewhere else.
Oil Change $111.00..High priced. Car wash not done. I called 4 times to the service dept to talk about this and no call back. Finally, they called back because my wife wrote a bad review. After talking to the reviewer, I can almost understand the oil change cost but the no return calls and the car not washed is unacceptable. They need to fix their problems NOW and not continue lip service.
My Passats check engine light came on during a trip to Indianapolis. I called and Emma was a great help to me - she got me an apartment with the service team within the hour and I was able to not have any of my plans disrupted nor my departure time delayed. Emma also gave me updates every time she had new information for me and helped with any concerns I had. The team was a great help to me when I was so far from home.
We needed to replace a brand new tire and I was able to go online and schedule an appointment for the same day. I was impressed that their maintenance system recognized our phone number and the system was then able to pull up our car details and this helped streamline the process. This was our first maintenance appointment and I was impressed with the quick checkin process and the quick turnaround on the tire replacement.
Wouldve given them 5 stars but they didnt vacuum my car out and they charge an arm and a leg for an oil change.
Called and got in for service the same day for a battery replacement and oil change. Zander (the check-in guy) at the 96th Street dealership was so kind and helpful. The work was done in a very short time and I was on my way and very pleased with the service!
Super easy and straight forward. Some of the best customer service Ive seen at a dealership in my life. Thanks for making my car buying experience great!
Overall scheduling easy, bummed my car wasn’t washed after recap airbag work & after 24 hrs my car still shows recall needed. They have yet to reset recall update for my Beetle.
I stood in the service area for over a minute waiting to be greeted while three people, all standing at computers, never bothered to look up. I finally said, “Excuse me” and one employee let me know she didn’t appreciate me “picking her” for assistance. I had an appointment which is another whole story because the service people don’t answer their phones when you get transferred there even though they are all standing next to a ringing phone. I was told I could wait in service area while they changed my oil and checked for bulbs that were out. I had out in the front and back of my VW bug, this was on my service sheet. As I sat there the service folks walked by numerous times. After 2 hours (was told one hour wait by phone and at drop off told it would be 60-90 min) waiting, I walked back to the service desk area and asked what was happening. Apparently, they were waiting on me to respond to a text they sent an hour early given permission to change a bulb. I was literally there to have a bulb changed. They walked past me 3x. I was in the service lounge, they were 20 feet away from me but they texted me this? Had they informed me that I need to be aware I would be receiving texts I would have looked! When I complained the girl said “well it’s not like I haven’t been busy!” I don’t even know what that means or why it’s relevant. They never did change the bulb in the back. They are unprofessional, slow, rude, and of course, tried to up sell me something. It’s worth the drive to avoid this VW dealer.
Very very slow. Had my car for 2 days for an oil change and some checks. Was told my car was washed and vacuumed when it obviously wasnt. When I questioned it, I was told its just something that gets printed out I totally understand that things are taking longer because of Covid but 2 days is ridiculous and I had an appointment. The other time I had my car in for service they had it 6hrs for an oil change. Im going to try the other location and see if its any better, if not, Ill be trading in my VW.
Our car was just over one year old. It has been in the shop three times. The second time for three weeks. During that three weeks the car suffered $9000 worth of hail damage. Within several weeks their condition wasn’t working again it was back in for three weeks. We were given no rental car the second time, no help, and no support. Service is terrible. I will never buy a car from the dealer again I will never buy a volts wagon again.
This visit was for service. Making the appointment was fine, dropped it off the night before with my key, a small plastic part explaining that the part was found on the floor. I was not able to determine where it came from and would they please put it back. I was texted when my car was ready. The shuttle picked me up in a timely manner and I would give a 5 star to the young man who drove the shuttle. After I paid I was told my car was in the parking lot. In previous times my car was washed and driven around to the door. I found my car and immediately I could see that it not only hadn’t been washed or vacuumed, there were large black streaks across the front bumper that looked just like a tire had been drug across the bumper. I went back in, explained what I found and the customer service man said, oh let me check the photos of when I brought my car in. WHAT? That was like accusing me of lying. So he checked the photos, obviously not finding that in his photos, then he said he would take the car to be washed. He was gone several minutes then brought it around wet. Nothing was ever said about the plastic part and I found it lying on my dashboard. Makes me wonder if they serviced my car for the $598 I paid them. This was not at all what my experiences had been before and certainly did not meet my expectations based on prior experiences. 3 stars are actually too high
I would never recommend 96th Street service department to anyone. We had a 9 am appointment for 60m mile service. We were there for over 6. -yes SIX hours. Told us all was fine. Three days later I get an email with the service report!! Why they didn’t address this at the appointment is beyond me??!! Turns out my front brakes were only at 10%!!!! We drive two hours to get our car serviced for the warranty. This Tom Wood service center doesn’t care about your time or your safety. Find somewhere else to go other than here is the best advice I could give anyone... or sadly don’t buy a Volkswagen to be captive to this horrible customer service. The car itself may be safe but the people in this service department couldn’t care less about your safety.
Johnny was so awesome and made buying my new car so easy! What a beautiful dealership! So happy with my purchase.
Wonderful experience! Just needed a check up for a long trip and the service was free! Not what I was expecting at all. Everyone was very efficient and friendly, professional and experienced! Definitely going back whenever I need work done
I would absolutely recommend this dealership to anyone looking for a Volkswagen! I inquired via the internet and worked with Hector Mercedes to nail down all of my pricing before going in to view the car. Once at my appointment, Ryan Carlisle helped me. He was thorough, extremely pleasant, and did everything he could to help me feel comfortable through the process and fully understand every step. If he is free when you go, I would highly suggest him! Overall was a great experience. If you are looking for a dealership that is not pushy, and extremely helpful this is the one!
Needed an oil change, called to schedule, I was told that I didn’t need an appointment for an oil change, they have an “express” service department exclusive for oil changes. I waited almost 2 hours for an oil change and tire rotation. They didn’t even wash the car, for the price they charge they could have washed the car as well. They definitely need to visit Webster on the definition of express. Huge thumbs down!
Always receive prompt and courteous service! Staff is friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend!
Brought my car to Tom Wood Volkswagen because of a recall on my car last Thursday. The staff told me it could be done within the same day, but they called me on the next day to tell me my car was ready to pick up without updating me and giving me a heads up on Thursday. After I drove me car home and open up the car hood, guess what, they removed my battery cover without putting it back. We called Tom Wood, they said they will get back to me later, but haven’t heard back from them. I’m so disappointed.update 2 weeks later:Called them 3 times, every time they said they would call back for update, they Never did!!! Now, I finally figured out why my battery cover is gone.Tom Wood THREW AWAY my battery cover without telling me and offering me no compensation. Now I’ll have to buy a part that’s still holds up nicely before I bring my car to Tom Wood. I had never experienced such terrible service before!!! Please, if you have any other option, don’t get your service done at Tom Wood because they will steal your parts.Update 4 weeks later:After calling them 3 times and one physical visit, we finally got in touch with the service manager. She was able to replace our battery cover so we we finally got a new battery cover. I’m happy now but just wish the communication process could be more efficient.
It was an amazing experience. Ryan listened to me, as I explained to him my challenges and what I needed. He worked hard to get me into a car that was safe, reliable and affordable. Andrea in finance did the work to find the right loan. I will not go anywhere else to buy a car. Go see the team at Tom Wood Volkswagen.
They do an okay job. but when I went in for my oil change and fuel rail recall, I drove my car off the lot and my car would not shift and would suck air. it was scary and frustrating. when I took it back and told them, the technician came out and put some things back together under my hood. it was really sketchy. I know quite a but about cars and he had no business messing with anything that he touched. I think the just are trying to find ways to milk customers for more money. I wont be going back to this location because I do not want to get scammed.
I used the express oil change for the first time. I was checked in very quickly. I left the car and did not stay. I got called when it was done. I was able to get it back in three hours.
We had a great experience working with Barry, to purchase a new Atlas. Barry was very responsive, knowledgeable and transparent. He found the exact car we were looking for. Would highly recommend.
Best car buying experience I’ve ever had! Thanks to Drew Kirchhoff and Kent Golden for everything. I’m loving my new Atlas!
So I’ve had both good and bad experiences at Tom Wood VW. I’ve been a VW loyalist for a while, having had both a beetle and now a jetta. My sister has bought multiple VW from them and we’ve always had great experiences buying. However, I am pretty upset with how my recent service experience has gone. My jetta is only 7 years old, and had some issues accelerating. I took it to VW and they diagnosed a wastegate rod malfunction and told me the only way to fix is to buy a new turbocharger at the convenient price of 3500 with labor. I did some research and elected for a second opinion. While driving the car home, the car functioned completely fine and was able to accelerate. Looking at my receipt, i was charged for diagnosis fee and also “shop parts.” I’m guessing they cleaned my wastegate rod up and that’s why I was charged for shop parts and my car is working fine. I will not be coming back after they attempted to “take me for a ride,” and when it didn’t work, didn’t fess up. Shady business practice.
Service was good ; however, Quote me one thing then told me it was 50% more(Hope gave me quoted price later on), then they recommended to change tires( my tires are less than 5k miles) then that I needed an alignment (they own test pass alignment), brake fluid flush and replacement, transmission fluid change and air filets. Besides I went 2 day before to get an appointment, to later find out that it did not matter because with or without appointment, it is first come first serve basis.
Excellent customer service! Michael and Tim worked very hard to get us the exact car we were looking for, we couldn’t be happier!
Service was good and fast. Got a shuttle to and from home while they did the work. But they forgot to wash my car and vacuum the interior. It was a busy day so I wasnt too upset but for $500 I want my car cleaned!
Everyone was kind from the service reps to the shuttle driver. I got a little frustrated trying to get a rental, but they handled it well and I was able to get a loaner at no cost to me. The only thing I’m a little frustrated with is the price. The estimate was a little over $1,700 and I ended up paying almost $1,900. It would’ve been nice if the price could’ve been a little more manageable since I am a loyal customer. I was getting so much work done to my brakes, why did I have to pay the $120 to have them inspect them, for example? I had a bunch of coupons that said couldn’t be combined with other offers, but why couldn’t they be combined? It’s stressful paying that much money at once. I just think something better can be done for returning customers.
Automotive service pricing is very high compared to competitors. Service is poor and unusually disorganized. I have been left unsatisfied time after time at this location and do not recommend.
I live an hour away, so coming in to have service done is a hassle. The staff, specifically Emma, was great at making sure my time was respected and that everything was taken care of.
Ryan was my salesperson and he provided an enjoyable experience. He quickly determined exactly what I wanted without me having to explain everything. It didn’t take too long for us to put a deal together. Thanks Ryan and the Tom Wood team! Also quick shootout to the GM Kent. He helped ensure I got the exact vehicle I was looking for even though it was on another dealership’s lot. There is a reason I chose Tom Wood VW of 96th street. They not only got me the payment I needed but also made sure to get the car I wanted too. I won’t go anywhere else!
Drew, Isaiah, and the Tom Wood VW staff were nothing but professional, courteous, and efficient. I walked in and instantly felt comfortable in their care in buying my brand new Tiguan. I would highly recommend their services for anyone looking to buy or lease!
Took my car in to have them look at the clutch pedal and they recommended a new transmission with no explanation.
I recently had a flat tire after hitting a pothole on the interstate. Tom Wood VW was able to get me in immediately after AAA out in my donut tire. They put on a new tire, checked everything out & got me going in good time.
I took my Tiguan to the dealer because my check engine light was on. Apparently my intake manifold needed cleaned @ over $1,400. On that same day I received a notice from VWUS that the intake manifold is covered under an extended service agreement. TWVC said it’s the PCV that’s covered, not the cleaning. Hard for me to believe that the cleaning was unrelated to the attached PCV part. The serviceman didn’t even mention the extended coverage. Then I picked up my car, started driving it home and the light was still on. Apparently there was a loose part that needed tightened. Why didn’t the dealership drive it around the block to make sure it was all ok before the customer picked it up? And a $140 diagnostic fee?
Incompetent. Did horrible job diagnosing my car’s problem. Replaced battery only when the real problem was the alternator.Car died 3 times after I picked it up. Thank goodness I made it to work. Used mechanic by work to replace alternator and serpentine belt.If your car needs anything more than an oil change I would avoid Tom Wood Volkswagen at all costs. I could’ve died off of the freeway and had some real troubles.
Victor was awesome and got us the ACS that we wanted.
Quick, easy, and very friendly. My experience here is always great. Xander was awesome.
Great experience at Tom Woods yesterday. Really enjoyed the super friendly. It was such a smooth process. I purchased my dream car in no time xxxx
My technician was very professional courteous get me abreast of what was going on in my with my car and I really appreciated that thank you
I always anticipate a sales pitch when I pick this place for VW recall work, HOWEVER not one time have they tried a sales pitch for parts, service etc! I am pleasantly surprised every time and APPRECIATE you give me the list of suggestions and when I decline them you respectfully accept and always provide EXCEPTIONAL service to my vehicles! I will be back! This will make me a customer for life for anything needed! Thank You!
Appointment scheduled and drop off on a Thursday, didn’t even call or look at car until following Tuesday. Wanted $750 to replace a seatbelt buckle that costs $68. And also a Rediculous amount for blind spot indicator lights defaulting ($1300). Had a laundry list of other suggestions - all of this in a text versus phone call.
A very easy purchasing experience! Everyone involved made the process easy, fast, and kept us well informed. Highly recommended!
First time here and purchased my first new vehicle. Experience was pleasant. No uncomfortableness with wanting to buy a car. Salesperson Stephan was very nice and so were the financial staff. The place is very clean and appealing.
Emma is the best service coordinator, Lori the receptionist is so kind and helpful, the shuttle driver was great and we had the best conversation on the ride. The detailer did the best job. My bill was so reasonable and they treat customers like royalty. I’ll never go anywhere else!!
Unfortunately not impressed with their service. They charged me a $38 “diagnostic fee” to tell me that they couldn’t fix my headlight without replacing the entire housing.Bought a hitch from their website online- it said 40$ for the installation- apparently what I bought was the adapter and not the physical hitch. They tried to charge me $700 for 4 hours of labor to install a hitch that has 4 bolts and takes about 10 mins max to install according to U-HAUL. Then when I said I would pass on that service and I would just return the adapter and buy the hitch myself for $70 online they wanted to charge me another “diagnostic” fee for the pleasure of telling me they couldn’t install the hitch I bought from them on the website and was delivered to the store. Then they tried to tell me my tires needed replaced but for $1000. But when I saw the final report the tires still had 5/32 tread depth.I had paid 30$ for them to come pick up and return the vehicle. Then they called me at 4:30 pm without having fixed my light or installing the hitch I bought- telling me that I owed diagnostic fees for services they had not even done anything to my car for and telling me they would return the car the next day.Unbelievable. Will not be returning. So much for being part of the VW “family”. Felt like I was getting swindled at every step.
We stopped in Tom Wood VW late afternoon on a Saturday to just see what kind of inventory they had. They had 2 or 3 cars we liked and their Salesman, Ryan Carlisle, came right out to greet us. He took us on a couple test drives and he was a blast! We didn’t think we could afford the car we really wanted, but Ryan was optimistic and ran some numbers for us. We could afford the one we really loved and he worked for us to seal the deal. He was awesome and if you’re shopping for a VW in Indy, go see him! The entire staff was friendly and accommodating. They stayed an hour after closing on a Saturday night just for us and we truly appreciate it! We bought our very first of 5 VWs from Tom Wood and we’ll definitely go back when we’re ready to trade this one! Highly recommend!
Customer Service at the vehicle drop off service bay is great. They come out to you with a tablet in hand and are very polite and professional.
Finally… a good experience with Tom Wood Volkswagen service department! Have owned my EOS since 2008 & had it serviced routinely there. In the past 3 or so years, the service department has been terrible in terms of communication among each other & with the customer. I spoke with multiple managers but the problems persisted. On my most recent visit for some major work, KUDOS to Xander & manager Nathan for their handling of an unresolved issue from a previous visit and their excellent communication & customer service skills.
Went for 4 tires. Able to get the 4 I wanted. Discussed the lock out lug nut, needed rubber covers for lug nut and VW disc for one hub cap. None of this was addressed when I went to pick up the car. I waited while these details were addressed. Also disappointed with the statement of complimentary car wash, interior vacuum and battery check. The car was not washed, nor interior vacuumed.
Stephan was excellent and personable. He worked with me to get the best deal and took his time to make sure every detail was perfect. Thanks for going the extra mile to get me in my Jetta!
This was my very first purchase from a dealership....and I have to say that because of John Pittman and how this company took care of me that I am a customer for life! I will just have to find what I like there...lol
Hope was very nice and helpful! Had a great experience and would recommend to others and will definitely be coming again!
Great experience. The person that checked me in was knowledgeable, quick, and if she didnt know an answer she got the answer and helped me.
I’ll start with the good - scheduling my oil change was easy over the phone and the associate was friendly and helpful. When I got to TW for my appt, the rep taking care of me was friendly. He suggested a tire rotation as well but we ended up not being able to do that because of locked lug nuts on after market tires. The not so good - I had an 8am appointment and I wasn’t done until after 10:30? This has happened before. Why does it take over 2.5 hours for an oil change appt? I understand there’s an inspection and quick vac/car wash, but other places provide similar services and don’t take that long?
Really good experience. Group of really nice and inviting people. They made it as easy as possible
I bought a car back in September from here & I never leave reviews but i still can’t let this one go. My sales person was great but i had found a crack pipe in my car in the crack of the front seat. I was horrified and so mad because had my 2 year old found that, i would’ve been so angry and or if i had got pulled over i would’ve been in trouble. Sales are great just make sure when you take in used cars they are properly cleaned! I didn’t even know what it was until i called someone!!
I had a terrible experience at the location on 96th Street in Indianapolis on June 30, 2021. I went in for an oil change and asked them to check my cooling fan and coolant, as my coolant level warning light had been triggered two days earlier but was no longer lit. After running a diagnostic check, they informed me that there was a repair needed that was out of warranty. It was a repair of something that this same dealership had repaired a year ago. When I asked why I needed to fix something they had already fixed, I was told by the service coordinator, not the service manager, that they didn’t know. When I asked them what solution they could offer me, they offered only a free vehicle appraisal so I could get another car from them. No discount on services, no suggestion of why something they already had fixed was broken again, just a basic “sorry” and a suggestion that I trade in for another car from them. I told them I would not be doing that repair OR buying from them ever again and they needed to just do my oil change and let me leave. When I was paying for my services, I saw that the invoice indicates hey charged me the full diagnostic fee and gave me no discounts on anything. I said, “can’t you even give me a discount on something??” to which the service coordinator replied that he didn’t know how to do that and wasn’t sure he could. In retrospect, I should have pressured them for a discount but at that point, I’d been there for 4 hours already. I asked the coordinator to get me the cards of the general manager and the service manager so I could talk to them about my experience. He went to get the cards, and when he went to the service manager’s office, the manager was at their desk. Instead of coming out and seeing me face to face, they handed off their card to the coordinator. There was no effort on anyone’s part to try to make the situation better or to address my frustration. They basically shrugged their shoulders and said “sorry, too bad.”I realize that I am more motivated to leave a review after a bad experience, but this one was so bad, it warrants a review. I should also say that I bought my VW Atlas new. It is 3 years old with 115k miles on it. I have been happy with it and the service at the dealership up until yesterday. I do not intend to visit any of the Tom Wood dealerships in the area in the future, although judging from yesterday, I don’t think they will care about that.
Gary Baker was awesome! He worked very hard for what I wanted and what I could afford for my new vehicle. He wasn’t pushy and understood what I did and didn’t like. He was very easy to get along with and was very knowledgeable about his vehicles (even though we found a secret department no one knew about!) I 100% recommend Tom Woods Volkswagen dealership! Great experience and best experience I’ve had buying a vehicle!
Victor provided a good customer experience, was straightforward and delivered a hassle free purchase.
Quick, inexpensive and professional! Definitely will go there again!
Scheduled an appointment online for car pick for an oil change and tire rotation. Recieved text notification for appointment. Day of appointment, no one showed up for pickup and no call from dealership. Called service department and was told shuttle was behind and they would call me back for more details. Couple hours later and no one called back. Called for service department again. Left voicemail asking for a call back. Couple hours later again and no one called. Once again called service department, talked to service and asked to be scheduled for the next day. Was told having issues with scheduling on computer. They gave me a time and told me I would get a notification when set and they needed a manager to help them. One more time, I did not get a notification. I called again, I talked to another person in the service department. They said I was scheduled for tomorrow but it was a different time then I was orginally told by the previous person. I accepted the new time. The next day came and they did pickup my vehicle and perform the work. The work was performed fine but their scheduling and communication to customers is down right horrible. The only positive was a gentleman named Corey that was the last person I worked with. Even though I yelled and screamed he got me through the issues and made sure I was taken care of. If you are going to schedule an appointment with Tom Wood make sure you follow up with them as good chance they will not follow up with you.
We bought a great, used car. It runs great, it’s super clean and the customer service was phenomenal. It’s a great and easy dealership to purchase from. We will definitely be going back in the future.
Needs of care taken care if in a timely manner. Receipt had that washing of car and vacuuming of car was done but was not. Also did not change the sticker for next visit due. Little things I know but this is what they tell you they will do. Also noted, all the service staff that I used to know were gone, name plates were gone and have been replaced by younger staff. Not the same feel or care I was used to as a long time customer. Was disappointed.
Had my first oil change there. They forgot to call me and tell me it was done. I had to call the next day and leave a message to get someone to call me and tell me if they serviced it or not. I was also hoping they would vacuum and wash my car since that is fairly standard at dealerships, but they did not.
Advisors Nardi and Gregg gave good explanations and they were courteous.
Not my best experience with Tom Wood VW.I’ve ALWAYS been very pleased with the service I have received at Tom Wood VW. But this time is an exception. I had a warranty repair (water pump replaced) and oil change. I was quoted 2 days for the service to be completed because they had the water pump in stock) which was no big deal. They did get me a rental car. So at day two, I called and left a message to check on completion, no return call received. Days three and four were the weekend so I didn’t call. Day 5, I called again and left two messages, no return call again. Day 6, I left another message, no return call. Day 7, I called again and left a message, no return call but I did receive a text message awhile later saying my car was completed, so I know my messages were received. I go to pick up my Atlas and return the rental car, (which was supposed to be totally paid by Tom Wood), to see my Atlas had received major hail damage over the weekend. I realize TW isn’t responsible for the damage, but a phone call ahead of time would’ve been nice or even letting me know at the counter the day I picked it up. They acted like they could care less and let me know immediately they were not responsible. Now, Two days after picking up my vehicle, there are new charges on my card for the “free” rental car they provided and I’ve not received a phone call back regarding that. I guess communication between the dealership and customer is my number one complaint. Calling and leaving voicemails doesn’t apparently work either. I may be looking for another VW dealership.
After visiting three different times (because I was so indecisive), I purchased an amazing car from here! Stephan went above and beyond to accommodate my requests and get me in my dream car! He even stayed past closing time twice so I could test drive cars. Thank you Tom Wood Volkswagen! I will be back and will also recommend you to others!
Corey and the others were so helpful and accommodating on my visit. I highly recommend Tom Wood VW to anyone looking for service.
I traveled from Columbus, Ohio to Indianapolis to buy my car from Tom Wood VW. Initially, I found them while searching for a particular color and model. I purchased from them because they had the lowest price of all dealers I contacted, they were highly professional and did not give me the stereotypical “car sales” treatment. I felt that they were upfront and respectful. Ultimately, they delivered the car to me. It was a great experience and I highly recommend their dealership. Michael Garton was my salesperson. He was personable, patient and very helpful through the process.
Scheduled an appointment for 9am to have a couple recalls fixed on my car and was told it would take 3 hours to complete. I called 4 hours later to check on my car and was told it hasn’t been serviced yet. Around 5 o’clock I get a call that my car is done and can come pick it up but they close at 6 and will be closed the following day due to New Years. Thankfully, I was able to make it right before closing but better communication would have been appreciated. The visit summary stated my car was washed and vacuumed but neither of those things happened. Not a big deal but don’t say you did something if in fact you didn’t.
I made an appointment for the 100,000 mileage service. I also wanted my ac to be serviced. I received a text that the car was ready for pick up. The 100,000 mileage was completed but not the ac service. It was marked on the exit sheet that the car was vacuumed and washed. That was not completed. My service technician was not there when I picked up my car. I dealt with a different one. He did apologize for the service error and offered to help me make another appointment. In the past, I was told about any issues to be aware of from the inspection. This time I was just handed the paper and told all the services were completed. I’m disappointed that all my services were not completed. Now I have to make another appointment and wait for the ac service to be completed. Ugh!
Our salesman, Victor, was very nice and so helpful! And not only him, but everyone we encountered at the dealership was so friendly.
This is the first time I had a good experience shopping for a car usually it is a fight Stephan Pavicic was great
My appointment was at 11am. I dropped off my car at 9:30 because we were preparing to move. My car was supposed to be ready by 1:00pm. I returned at 4pm it was not ready. I did not leave until almost 5pm. I took my beetle bug there for a recall. The did an inspection on my vehicle and found that the left front differential boot had leaked itself dry. I told Xander I will get the service done elsewhere I did not want the work done. I wanted to get estimates. When I got there he said he was waiting for my call about the estimates and did not hear me say that I did not want them to do the work. Tired of poor customer service where do not listen.
