Best place for anything engine related. It is a family owned business, Dan Quinlan is owner, and does all of my engine machine work. He is great with race engines too. He is doing my mopar 528 stroker engine. Very fair pricing too. Check them out you wont be sorry.
If you are into 4g63s, this is the best place in Indy to get your machine work done.
Very helpful and knowledgeable I would recommend them over the current machine shop that I have been using
Took Fooooorrrrever to get my block done (13 months), gave me back rusty/dirty parts and forgot to shot blast the block like i requested before they did the machine work. Crankshaft grind is sub par, the fillet area of the crank wasnt even fully ground leaving a ledge in the center of the fillet and then not oiled and left to rust, Never again. Schmidt racing engines and warrior racing engines are the only shops that will get my money from now on. Pictures showing examples of the work, condition of parts, and how i received the parts backUpdate after i got my block back. basically every dimension they machined was incorrect. asked for the pistons .008 down and got .011 and .014, asked for .003 rod clearance and i got .0015, asked for .005 cylinder wall clearance and got .0035-.0037.after an hour of me bringing my tools to the shop and showing him what was wrong dan agreed to fix the issues after i told them exactly how much material to take off of each surface and still couldnt get it right! cylinder number 3 has .0062 clearance where the rest are at .005 like i asked. dan reground the rod journals another .010 under (making them .020 under) and only had .002 clearance. deck was within acceptable tolerance but only after i had to tell him exactly how much material to remove. told me after he was finished dont come back to the shop.Dan Quinlin is a hack, avoid at all costs.
Turned a large crankshaft for me. Very good price and had it ready in 2 days. Very good workmanship! 👍
Have to be the rudest, least professional mothathumprs around! Called for a quote on some machine work, was put on hold three different times by multiple people and finally the 4th person picks up and says itll be 2500 without asking any questions or knowing what I needed, super dismissive. Called another, more reputable shop who was very cordial, professional and knowledgeable, upon learning my needs quoted me a realistic number that was more than 1k less than these jokers..guess which one will be getting my business, this time and every time after
Fair prices and great turnaround time.
They did a great valve job on my 79 harley and no problems. Went back recently cause I blew a spark. They gave me great advice and lent me the specialty tools I needed. Ill be back.
I dont quite know yet I havent got started the engine yet and a John Deere diesel but apparently while I see is a great job done more than I expected great job Quinlin
Been going there for years, at this point probably serviced 100 components for me
I called in and had a terrible experience. I was put on hold 4 different times by someone that was very rude and uninterested. I was quoted an extremely high price for the value of what I was requesting as if it were an attempt to run me off due to high demand. Very unprofessional.
Dropped off a SBF block, have not had work done yet but we like nice guys and shop was full of work so thats a good sign. Will update over time.
Always does a very accurate job of machining. Parts come back clean and ready to assemble. Great place to have machine work done.
No problems, they have a great team, best in town.
If you want a clown who needs your money to go buy the part and acts unprofessional call this guy. If you aren’t successful enough to have enough money to buy the part yourself as a mechanic then your definitely a broke mechanic that can’t even have enough crumbs left over on the kitchen counter to even feed the roaches.
My daughter paid for this guy to replace brakes and a caliper on her car and after driving her car the caliper fell off and left her car stranded! After attempting to contact him about the problem numerous times and being blown off and ignored and lied to my daughter had another mechanic look at her car to find that Indy Mobile Mechanic didnt put the bolts back in the caliper! He took advantage of my 19 year old daughter and then refused to fix his mistake!
They are not trustworthy, very first service treat you kind of well, when you trust them, take advantage of you.Even they are not consistent with their quote, once I got a quote and just repeated it 2 weeks later, offer 20% higher than the first quote
Called and got a quote for head work. Straight to business, good guys. Good referral
Took in my engine to get repairs. The next week it broke down again because they used the wrong parts. Would not recommend.
Fast service on a 235 6cyl crankshaft that needed turned.
They always are willing to help with your engine repair needs.
Did good work for me. Quick turn around
I have used them several times always great work awesome guys to work with highly recommend
When I picked up my car, it have been ripped through and robbed. Several things missing. The car was unlocked when I was given the keys back.
Very busy place, that says it all, great work fair prices
They always get our engine parts back to new shape. The place to come to when you need something machined.
Excellent work, great prices. These guys do this stuff every day and it shows through quality workmanship. They are my first and only call fir machine work.
They are good and will use again and again
They have always done great work at a reasonable price
Great service, fair price
The best machine shop around
I brought these guys the cylinder, a new piston and the valve assembly off of my dirt bike. They did a phenomenal job bring the cylinder and seating get the valves. Got it done in less than a weeks time. A+ work.In response to another review on here - after spending a couple of years working a parts counter for a motorsports shop, I absolutely hated when we would get calls from somebody who wasnt familiar with what they were talking about while relaying the conversation to a second else in the room. I doubt it was because you were a woman, but simply that they would rather talk to the person who iis familiar with the work needing to be done and not the person in the middle of it.
Called today about having the heads and block machined. The gentleman on the phone was super rude that I did not give him enough information to quote it. Just ask for the information you need! I cant read your mind! When we got to talking about the heads, he threw some snippy comments in as well! Theyve lost my business before they even got it! I wont be recommending them either. I dont have time for rude people.
Been going there for years always good work at a fair price.
My boyfriend runs and owns his own auto mechanic business. So to help him out I called these idiots to get a price for him. They did ask a couple of questions I didnt know so I asked my boyfriend and the moron on the phone asked me to speak with him. Ok fine. (Mind you I had him on speaker so my boyfriend could hear him) when my boyfriend said hello the *sshole said I dont want to translate through a woman excuse me you sexist bastard.
Great guys. Weve done business with them for as long as I can remember, and theyve always done a great job.
Great local shop that takes care of all my automotive needs for a lot less!!!!
Great work & excellent advice. Highly recommended.
Great guys good work
Its the best place 1000% recommended
Some guy from here totally got in my face at the mall and threatened me. What kind of an idiot goes out in his work shirt and picks fights with families in a public place. I will never take my vehicle to a place where the staff is that intimidating because they have security issues. Sad life bug guy.
Need engine machining done ? You wont find a better shop than Quinlin Automotive . Dan Quinlin is a great guy and does the job right
Good people to work with. The owner is very sharp.
Danny is a good friend of mine,he has been prepping my engine blocks for going on ten years now and hes always done a great job and has given me great advice,I live in northeastern indiana and hes worth the drive to the Southside of Indianapolis and his prices are Rock bottom.
Similar experience as below. Snippy, rude, and condescending. Needed headwork on a vw tdi. Interrupted me then immediately complained I didnt give enough info. Immediately hung up when he started being rude. The head is off the car and I will gladly drive 30 minutes out of my way to avoid dealing with people like this.
Theyve done over lots of heads and motors for years prices are good and havent had any issues yet great people
I had Quinlins rebuild my 7.3 powerstroke. They managed to improperly balance my crank. These motors should be internally balanced, especially when built with high power goals in mind. The shop decided to balance the motor externally, and didnt inform me. Ruining my $800 billet steel flex plate and my $250 harmonic balancer. The truck shook so violently that nuts rattled loose. I pulled the motor, again. Took it to a well known shop and found the mess Quinlins left me in. I paid $750 to have the motor rebalanced and had to buy ANOTHER new flexplate and ANOTHER new harmonic balancer. About $3000 later, the motor is running smooth. Quinlins denies all responsibility and refuses to work with me. A bunch of assholes are Quinlins that do NOT stand behind their product or service.AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
They do good word at a fair price. They are very busy for a reason.
Unprofessional and rude. Found their work to be consistent with that of amateurs.
This place is a joke, very slow and they act like they are the only machine shop left on earth🙄
Great customer service
Excellent
Very unprofessional
