This place is amazing! I have a ferret, and he eats a lot of bone-in and organ meats. They have literally EVERYTHING I need to keep him fed and happy! I also love browsing their snack section, and they usually have my favorite honey butter chips in stock! There is quite a strong seafood smell, but it shouldn’t discourage you from visiting!
This place has all the things youre looking for but cannot find at other grocery stores. Large selection of international brands and products. I always get my sauces and seasonings for cooking here. Lots of different kinds of produce, fish, and meat cuts. Prices are reasonable. Highly recommended.
I find most of what I need here. Prices are very good especially, the meat.
This place was amazing!! Be careful around the crab and lobster tanks they use the buddy system to try and escape the tanks and a crab was sitting on the top ready to fight 🤣 The food is all very fresh and a great selection. Would highly recommend this place!
Big selection of Asian products! Good prices on produce. Unique live seafood. Shelves are full of Asian noodles, seasonings, snacks, etc. Now they have added a area with cooked offerings.
Very good market for anyone whos looking to buy fresh ingredients and homemade sauces/jams/spices
Friendly staff. Love the selection of food items!!! Way more then Id think. They DO take FOOD STAMPS for those looking.
The guy behind the cooked food counter told me the ducks were fresh out from the kitchen, he claimed the place got a new cook and has the best roasted ducks. To my horror, the worst ever. It was not fresh, nor good to begin with. The bottom of the styrofoam box caught a ton of grease, and the duck had no flavor.Just drive to Chicago, i wont give them another chance for my hard earned money!Update, one of my friends says if you go there on Wednesday afternoons, you might get a freshly roasted duck.I have not tried. Instead i had one from a grocery store in Purdue university and was okay good.
Totally recommended for oriental food grocery shopping at Viet Hua! Very complete collections; fresh seafood weekly; very competitive prices.
We go here for all of our Asian grocery needs and we love it. Id stay away from the live market and the restaurant side, but the grocery part is great and I love looking at the aisle of drinks they have.
I really enjoy shopping there. Sometimes I can not read the package, I wish they had more English on the packages. Or even a sign teaching me how to cook it.
Visiting some friends down here and stopped by this Asian market the first time on my way home. It’s big, clean and organized. I got what I needed. The best part of this store is their BBQ section. I got the roasted duck and it was pretty tasty. Don’t forget to check out their bakery section. Their coconut and red bean bread loafs are the best.
If you in the North of the city, this place is worth checking out.Seriously! go to the back, try their sweet breads!
Asian grocery store with variety of items, fresh sea food place and more
They do have everything here (if you constrain yourself to Vietnamese and Chinese grocery, as indicated by the name, that is). Some stuff can be more expensive than other oriental markets in Indiana, but most are cheaper. Clean environment as well and they have lots of ready-to-cook stew and hotpot meats, as well as like 5 flavors of The Alley. Amex not accepted though.
All the hard to find items at good prices. Seafood smell is strong, but, they have pork belly and its hard to find
Good seafood live fish, seafood, frog, and snail! Also great dishes, pots, pans etc... just happen to go in and I ended up shopping
I absolutely love this store. They sell everything I need. They sell pots and pans, plates, bowls, tea pots and cups. Huge selection of ramen. Big bags of fresh bean sprouts. They sell whole frozen and fresh cooked ducks. Fresh fish that you can see in the tank. They sell banana milk. I enjoy buying different types of drinks. They also sell jackfruit. Really big store. Prices are really good. I will come here everytime I stop by Indianapolis. I recommend this store if you want to buy good food and have a good experience. Have fun!
So many choices! I found everything I wanted! Prices are reasonable too.
I shop here pretty frequently, very large selection and it has just about everything you need here
They always have whats needed.
One of the best Asian markets Ive ever shopped at. This place rivals markets in the Pacific Northwest, if thats possible. Extensive selection overall. Love the meat and seafood selection! Great produce selection, cookware, frozen, etc. I could spend hours here! Prices are great too. Whats not to love?! I will be a regular shopper!
This rating is mostly based of their restaurant. The food at the restaurant is somewhat a hit or miss. Sometimes the pork will be stinky sometimes its amazing. The variety is also kind of lacking but that makes things simpler. The food is a little bit too salty but that would be fine if they offered water. My biggest complaint is that you are not given water. They always offer soup with your meal and the soup that they give is not very good. The soup its self is also salty. If you do go try the fried tofu that is something I have found is reliably good. The fish is iffy and might be very fishy. It is also very confusing sometimes where the line starts so just go where you think it starts.
Most variety asian market, but more expensive but only by a little bit
Good store with some funky smell. They do have one of the best oriental supplies in Indy area.
Wide selection of grains, rice, and noodles. Fresh produce.
Best Asian grocery store in Indianapolis area
Why? Just why? They added a plastic curtain in front of the store, which is so gross. Everyone who comes in have to touch and lift the plastic curtain, so gross and have no purpose other than to inconvenience people and spread germs. Not going to come back as long as the curtain is there. So gross and disgusting.
Nice Asian grocery.
I mean, Im not an expert on Vietnamese food or culture, but this place seems to have every thing you could even imagine you might want. Vegetables, fresh fish, squid balls, dried fungus, fresh noodles...this place is the real deal.
Has ingredients I need. HORRIBLE customer service and I will never get hot food there. Roast duck was warm on the outside, but cold on the inside.
Coming from Chicago, the standards of finding a good Asian market in Indy were pretty high. This store had most everything I was looking for and even had a BBQ shop in the back! I have been very satisfied and will continue to go back.
Used to shop frequently here but theres such a cross section of ethnic foods I really couldnt find the specialty brand name products I sought. Maybe this store is targeting Vietnamese/Korean more than Chinese. I also didnt think the produce was always the freshest. This market reminds me alot of the International market over at Lafayette Road, it tried to be too much to everyone and lost its identity. I always wanted to try their cafeteria restaurant and maybe some day will but for now no.
Largest Asian food market. I love that it has an Asian bakery too.
From the disadvantages, the smell of fish. The product range is great.
My favorite grocery store for Asian ingredients and fresh produce on the northside. The largest variety of fresh and frozen and preserved noodles in town. The food court is amazing too.
Grand daughters like Chinese, Korean, Japanese foods, spices, from other countries. Viet Hua Food Market is truly an International Importer of food delicacies from the Orient (Asia).
This place is awesome! Any type of Asian food needed this is the place to go and they sell hot food inside!
Great produce. This is a rather large store, so they have a wide variety of items. They even have mattresses for some reason.
It is alright, decent place to get some asian groceries that you are looking for. It does have varieties of other asian cultures but the place can be cleaner and staff needs to be friendlier. They seem to just cant wait to push you out of the store. Overall it is okay, decent asian items, poor staffing, and needs cleaning. With this pandemic, sanitizing and cleanliness should always be a priority.
If youre looking for anything for oriental to eat or drink this is the place huge selection of live and frozen seafood.
Love their vegetables and snacks
Good Fish Good Snacks Good Candy AND GOOD SERVICE
Its a decent Asian grocery. Has a small restaurant inside, but I never ate there.
Love this place. They have the freshest vegetables, seafood and meats. A wide selection of noodles, spices and sauces. I cant wait to try the new cafe they added
I was very impressed with their fresh produce, meat, seafood and Japanese food selections. There is a huge variety of Asian foods here. Good prices too. Only a couple of items that I could not find.
I love everything about the store. The employees are always on point and very friendly and polite. Highly recommend!
I love shopping here. Great prices, staff are helpful. Just wish they had more labeling since there is so many different asian cultures wrapped into one store.
Great place with lots of oriental choices. Only downside for most people would be the fresh seafood smell LOL.
They have a variety of food here
They had fresh, frozen, boxed options and even some live like crab and lobster available.A deli section you could have food made to order, though I didnt try it.Every aisle was clean of debris on the floor, very organized and I wasnt hounded if I needed help or was looking for anything. Also for the products they had there was a wide variety available to choose from.
If you need to look for Asian food supplies and ingredients, this is the only market that do have what you need especially it not a large grown Asian community in the area.
Great selection, clean store, fresh seafood.
Its typical of an Asian store as far as stock goes. However, it smells worse than any I have ever been in. The decomposing fish smell is overpowering, and regardless of the type of market, proper cleaning and sanitization would negate that.
Biggest selection of Ramen Ive ever seen
We had been looking everywhere for dragon fruit for lemonade this summer and they had a great selection of the red flesh kind. The prices are good and the variety of items is great too.
Its a virtual Asian Walmart. Everything and anything asian is there.
I go there and get that Quail meat and other items
Overpriced. Asiamart is cheaper. Thought Id try them out but walked out seeing the considerable price difference. They do have more of a selection but I usually find what I need down the road.
This is my go to for Korean food products. But check the freezers to see if they are wet or over frosted with ice before getting frozen items. Their flat freezers go out alot.
Nice Asian grocery store. A good variety of meat and seafood selection. Has a cafe area inside as well.
Ive gone looking for Samson wine, about 5 times and they promised me that they would have it, in 2 weeks and nothing I get it, they just make me go waste my time 😔😡
It seems to have a lot of Asian food items. I was looking for a Pho spice mix and found 2. Also has various meats and fish (several fresh) with a large frozen section. Small produce section as well. There is an eatery inside. I marked it down 1 star for the smell. Very strong, unpleasant smell probably due to the meat and fish. I would have eaten there but couldnt stand that smell any longer. I will return whenever we need anything Asian as the prices seemed very reasonable.
Amazing selection even has cooking tools
They have many Asian ingredients and products. They also have fresh seafood. Good place to do grocery shopping.
Larger sized Asian market with a wide selection of dried and packaged goods. They have a good selection of fresh produce, especially the greens and vegetables for cooking. Fresh seafood section has live seafood so you know it is fresh. You can pick your fish and they will clean it while you shop.
Bring a different region to our local area is very ideal to native people and people that want to try something different.
Nice place
Calm shop with a lot of Asain essentials. The food court has surprised me with the quality of the food there. Whether you have a sweet or savory tooth, youll find something great with their food court and bakery.
Wow this place is amazing. I never knew that Indy had so many Asians before I walked into the store. Anyways, the store itself is quite impressive, they have literally everything. I wish it was cleaner though.
Vast selection of meats, vegetables, beverages, and other grocery items. They also have great selection of snacks and spices from Asia. Very reasonably priced. They have variety of bread and hot dishes for lunch as well.
This is one of my stops on grocery shopping day. Love the variety of options for a variety of cuisines offered there. EVERYONE should visit this store at least once! The size of the store is quite nice as well and I have no complaints about the prices whats ever.
Selection of food was amazing. I was in only to buy rice noddles, but I didn’t stop at that. This is by far one of the largest Asian grocery stores in the area. The selection of fresh produce was also fairly good. I’ll definitely be going back.

I love this place. There is so much produce you cant find anywhere else. I havent tried the meat department but the seafood looks beautiful and very fresh.
Great place, full of a variety of East Asian food Staples at very reasonable prices. I love this place.
Good selection of international foods and good prices. The store is fairly clean and pretty well organized, but occasionally it can be difficult to track down what Im looking for. Overall, a solid option for international groceries in the area.
I would say this is so far the best asian grocery store in Indy. Vegetables fruits are not always fresh, but you get various choices. Store has pretty strong and fishy smell, but acceptable. I love the sauce and spices section. Very authentic asian brands.
Huge selection of food but horrible service especially the cashiers
Awesome cultural immersion. The live fresh fish alone was cool to see. Picked up some unique snacks. Definitely a cool place
Vast array of food options, & a delicious hot food counter added in the past year. If youve never been to an Asian supermarket, youre in for a treat. This is the real deal, with a huge fresh fish section (some still swimming unt you order them): fish, turtles, frogs, crabs. Meat section includes just about every part of the animals, as Asian cuisine leaves little to waste. Plenty of dry groceries as well, including many kinds of rice, seasonings, sauces, & oils. Fresh fruits & veggies include Asian treats like breadfruit & durian. Come with an open mind, & you may leave with a contentedly full stomach & a shopping cart full of adventure!
Viet Hua has everything Asian that you might want. They also have an amazing assortment of fresh seafood and a restaurant and bakery inside that serve authentic chap fan and Chinese buns. My wife and I go shopping here frequently but we eat dinner here often also. Its just like being back in southeast Asia.
Why did I never know this was here when I lived in town?! Fresh produce in a huge variety, and lots of options for any spice or sauce your heart may desire. Glad I found it for my occasional visits.
This has to be the largest and best Asian market in Indianapolis. I was very impressed with the huge selection of everything from noodles to jellyfish. I only wish some of the products had some translation so I know what I was looking at, but generally the store had translated signs along with the prices.
If you want it, odds are you can find it here. Great selection, clean store and well run. Wide aisles not cramped and packed with boxes.Good fresh vegetables and meat market.
Fun to shop there and buy things to experiment with. Wish I kneww more about preparing it.
A surprisingly large and comprehensive Asian grocery. Always clean and well stocked.Has a large and wide selection of goods. The stock favors more shelf-stable items (for obvious reasons), but they also have a good produce section. Highlights for me are the mushroom selection, the cheap-as-dirt mung-bean sprouts, the extremely large live, fresh and frozen seafood selection, and the large variety of sauces and spices. Everything item Ive seen so far has had good English ingredient and nutrition labeling, and usually has a descriptive English name label somewhere. Some of the staff doesnt seem to be entirely comfortable with English, but they are always polite, to the limited degree that Ive interacted with them at checkout.
Loads of Asian groceries here from whole live lobsters and fish to every part of every livestock animal imaginable. All of it plus spices and rices galore. They have a large fresh produce section with things you dont find at many grocers around. Low cost, fine quality bowls and cookware as well.
Huge selection of groceries from all over Asia. I found several items that I havent had since I was stationed in Japan. They also had very competitive prices, to be an import store. The one thing we went in there for was Kewpie, a Japanese Mayonnaise, and they certainly had it.
It has a huge selection of fresh vegetables (maybe larger than Saraga). Its fresh meat section was not as varying as I was hoping. But it is very clean and organized.
Good for East and Southeast Asian food. Patel Brothers is practically nextdoor for Indian. Great location and good prices.
Pretty good selection of Asian foods this side of Indianapolis but it has its drawbacks. The seafood department smells awful alot of the time, so bad you can smell it from the entrance. Also they usually only have 2 cashiers but they go as fast as they can. Some pluses are great selection of frozen foods and a Asian bakery! Give them a try if you are nearby.
I shop here often because they have a wide variety of products. Unfortunately, after todays experience I will not be coming back. The cashier was unbelievably rude. The customer ahead of us purchased some fresh seafood and the bags leaked onto the belt and scale. The cashier made it obvious how upset she was that he had brought leaky bags to her lane by rolling her eyes and complaining in Chinese to another cashier how it was making her hands smelly. Its not his fault their bags arent sturdy enough to hold seafood items with sharp and pointy edges. Plus, she could have simply wiped the area and change the gloves she had on.We also had some seafood, too, so we asked her if we needed a label and tag for it. She looked at us, rolled her eyes once again, and went on complaining to the other cashier about the smell of her hands. Then when it was our turn she threw our groceries into the bags and threw the bags onto the counter. Looking back, we should have just walked out. Thats no way to treat your customers. She needs to be retrained on basic customer care.
My wife and I visited this market place yesterday on 82nd street Indianapolis. If youre looking for different types of food groups, or youre seeking something unique, then this is the place to go. Its worth it. Can be expensive to shop for certain meat kinds, and the language situation can be a deterrent to deal with, so pay close attention to that unless you have been to Vietnam like I have and understand the Vietnamese people and culture, but other than that, a great place to shop.
