Greg was very helpful and knowledgeable. He went above and beyond in repairing our reclining couch after a piece broke that was secured the motor. He came to our home (house call) to complete the repair.I would use them for any repairs. I would also not hesitate to refer them.

Greg has completed two big projects for me. In 2016, I had antique table legs water damaged in a flood after my sump pumps backed up. Greg restored the legs to near perfect condition. I was amazed! In 2020, a desk given to me by my late father was shattered while in transport to my home. Greg rebuilt and refinished the desk to an almost new level. I could not have asked for better craftsmanship. I am very pleased with the end result with both projects. He is incredibly talented and very professional. I highly recommend Onsite Woodwright for your woodworking needs.

These people were recommended by my piano technician.I emailed and was told their policy was to either: have the customer take photos and there would be no charge for an estimate; or they would come out, take the pictures and charge $65.The work I wanted done on the piano wasnt easily photographed (Im a professional level photographer), neither was the damage on a couple of other pieces that I thought they might be able to remedy, so I opted for them to come out.By them, I expected the owners to come. We set a time and day and instead of either Greg or Niki two guys showed up.First of all they did not understand what I wanted to have done on the fallboard of my piano and they tried to tell me it could be done on-site. Ive had this particular touch-up done on other occasions and it is better done in the shop. The other touch-ups I hoped to get remedied were subtle and Id be surprised if the photos of these areas were helpful or illustrative to the stay-in-the-shop owners. An antique music box which had been refinished several years ago by another unqualified restorer will require disassembly, deep stripping and finishing with lacquer. The two guys, took pictures which hardly are illustrative of the scope of this job.An old coffee table needs repairs on a corner chewed by a puppy and three leather inserts on the top replaced. They paid a bit more attention to the molding on the corner than the fallboard on the piano and the other items theyd looked at, and the photo guy assured me that HE could replace the leather inserts.A hand made drop leaf table now more than 100 years old needs the top ONLY refinished. It was difficult to convince the two guys that that was ALL I wanted done. They didnt think it needed refinishing when they first looked at it, but changed their mind when an overhead light was turned on.The final bit of restoration was a corner of a beds footboard, also chewed by a puppy. I had tried to fix it with wood putty, but soon decided stick shellac would be a better solution. They said THEY, not the owners, could fix that right there, right then, on site with the same wood putty Id used. When all the inspections were done, I felt like they didnt have a clue about refinishing (mostly) fine original woodwork (the piano, music box, and coffee table). But I decided to see what the estimate would be for each piece.Outside as they were getting ready to leave, they told me they could also do the work for me and I understood them to imply that they were hired as contractors by On-Site Woodwright but had their own business as well. That left a VERY sour taste. It was a kind of up-selling siding salespersons use.My assumption was that I would get an estimate and if I decided to have the work done by On-Site, the $65 fee would be applied to the final project. If I decided NOT to have the work done by On-Site, they Id pay the the $65.Those were a couple of bad assumptions on my part. After a couple of weeks, I hadnt heard anything from them, so I assumed they didnt want the business and I went about mine. Then Niki called wanting to make arrangements for payment of the $65. I was confused and put aside returning the call while I took care of other business. Then Niki called again. She was not rude, but she sure wasnt pleasant. I offered my displeasure with the process and sent them a check.I figure I should get an estimate, since thats what I paid for, but I told them not to bother.I have experience as a project editor at a national woodworking magazine and recognize a less than stellar vendor when they show up.Caveat Emptor.

I have an antique breakfront with mirrors that my mother gave me. It had been moved several times and hadn’t really been treated properly. Greg put it back together and now it is back to the gorgeous piece of furniture it was when my mom first found it. This company gets all my woodwork from now on.

Just had Greg back for a third time - this time to work on hiding dozens of holes in my front door, put there by prior residents putting up window shades incorrectly [dozens of times]. After I worked 5 days rebuilding and refinishing my 122 year old door, the holes needed hiding to make the door completely beautiful. Greg put on his magic touches and bingo! It is perfect. Thanks!Gregs work was fantastic. The value for the money spent with him was great. Greg knows how to balance his effort and labor (my costs) with the repair efforts to maximize my benefit. I have had Greg repair antique furniture, very high end custom Pine kitchen cabinets, historic wood trim, and new trim made to look old and historic to match the rest of our house trim. I am using him for additional work. That is the best compliment I can give him.

Greg has done a couple of jobs for me including the repair of six Bernhardt dining room chairs and the refinishing of a solid wood sofa table. The latest was the dismantling of a massive solid wood Bernhardt king size four poster bed that had been screwed and glued together at the factory. The headboard and footboard would not fit up the stairs in my new home. He did a phenomenal job carefully taking it apart and putting it back together so it looks as good as new. He truly takes pride in his work and goes above and beyond to take care of his customers. I highly recommend his services.

I had a vintage coffee table that was badly damaged on the top, and it was refinished to the point where it looked brand-new. Excellent craftsmanship and easy communication. Prices were quoted and accurate, even fixed a small split on a table leg as part of the job though it wasnt quoted originally. Would definitely recommend for any woodworking projects!

Greg is a true gentleman. He helped me with a chair project, and then refused payment. I was so nervous and he made everything so easy, and he wouldnt give up until the job was complete. I would recommend him for his kindness and work ethic alone, but his work is fab too! Thank you Greg, you are a great ambassador for wood craftsmen and Indianapolis.

Fantastic!!! Greg was wonderful. I called on Wednesday and he was there on Thursday. I bought a new chair and after one month the back started reclining. Greg came and removed the upholstery, put screws in the frame to stabilize it, and reupholstered the chair. Now it is really like new! I would recommend his services to anyone. Very professional.

Just had a couch repaired after I foolishly sat on the back of it. They answered my call and responded right away by putting me on the schedule immediately! They did a great job repairing the couch and it looks as good as new, and is actually probably stronger that it was to begin with. It was also very fair pricing, especially for an on-site job.

Amazing craftsmanship, fast service, and trustworthy business!Last month my husband and I were visiting his grandmother. We made the trip to show her pictures and tell her about our recent trip to Tanzania. She and her husband had spent some time there many years ago and brought home many artifacts. After seeing my husbands enthusiasm she offered him his late grandfathers pair of wooden rhino bookends. My husband was beyond excited. On the way home the bag they were in shifted and upon opening the car door they fell out. I unwrapped them and to my horror both tips of the rhino horns had broken. Thanks to On-site Woodwright you would never know and this family treasure is completely restored. His craftsmanship is as close to perfection as it gets and we are forever grateful.

I recently had repair work on a piece of wood furniture that was badly damaged during moving. I decided to call Greg Wright of On-Site Woodwright to see if there was anything he could do to fix it. To my surprise he said that he could make it look just as it had before the move. Knowing how badly it was damaged, I had my doubts. To my surprise, he restored back to its original condition without myself knowing exactly where the large chips of wood were missing! After seeing his work on this, I then asked him about my kitchen table to see if he could restore it. Again, he restored the table by filling in the gouges, seaing and staining the wood. It looked as good as it did the day I bought it. I have also used On-Site Woodwright at my workplace many times. I would definately recommend this company to anyone who needs furniture repair, whether major or minor. Scott Wilson - Uncle Bills Pet Center
