Cant say enough good things about the people at Kindred. Robert at the front desk is extremely helpful and makes sure he gets all the details so they can provide what you just the services you need, and then is super clear and up front about costs before they proceed on any work. Our Dodge Caliber had been increasingly bumpy when accelerating for awhile, and we had three different shops tell us it was our transmission and that we should just ride it till it dies after charging us for a diagnostic. Being our only working vehicle, we took it to Kindred to get a final opinion, and after a short courtesy drive/inspection they called to tell us that although our cvt transmission was overdue a refill and service (which they helped us out with) it was just our spark plugs misfiring and a clogged air filter. Saved us literally the price of a new car because we were ready to give up. Just drove it across two states and back and it drove like it was new the whole way. 10/10 would definitely recommend. About to take my jeep in thats also been misdiagnosed 4 times and Im sure theyll have me back on the road within the week.

I came across Kindred Automotive when searching for “Sun Roof” repair. Reading many positive reviews provided to confidence needed. I’ll now add my 5 star review to the list.1. They do use original manufacture parts2. This shop is as clean and organized as those of NASCAR shops.3. They do a complete, detailed, multipoint “courtesy” inspection while your car is in the shop…providing you with a point by point review of findings (both good and bad) which includes “pictures” of findings along with the mechanics written assessment/recommendations.4. Expecting my sunroof would have to be replaced, they assessed the problems, were able to acquire needed parts…problem solved. Taking it anywhere else (Ford)…they would have replaced the entire sunroof which is excessively expensive.5. During their inspection, they found the rocker arms in bad shape along with a leak in the differential casing.6. After a recent high-speed wheel balancing (at my “former” mechanics shop), I was told I had a defective wheel. Not saying anything, I asked Robert (Kindred) to perform balancing. Turns out, wheels are fine and now properly balanced. As to my former mechanic, he didn’t notice the tie rod issue and didn’t see the leak. Sticky a point and shoot service.7. As to the “negative” findings during the inspection, they were presented as merely informative with their recommendations. Zero sales pitch, zero pressure. They “can” fix them or, you can leave “knowing” you have issues needing attention. Truly a great experience. Robert and Katie, excellent to work with.

They have serviced two vehicles of mine so far. Both experiences were great. I had an alternator put in my 2012 Genesis.They diagnosed it correctly & used DEALER parts which tend to be the best. Its more expensive, but worth it. Dont get cheap car parts. They DO NOT LAST.They also fixed my sons Infiniti. It had a knocking noise over bumps. I took it to two other shops and they couldnt find anything. Kindred found the problem (ball joints) and fixed it. And the bill was less than I was quoted. And they communicate well*

These folks are great, no bs trying to upsell me on anything that is not needed. Noted somethings to keep an eye and plan for but did not try to push me either way, I like that approach very much. Service was quick as promised at price quoted.

These folks are legit. If you are looking for a full service mechanic who is transparent, doesn’t overcharge, and gives you options on what must be fixed vs. what should be fixed... this is the place for you. We have been customers for years, and have never had a regret.

Highly recommend! They performed a pre purchase inspection for me and did an excellent job. Friendly, knowledgeable, and just over all genuine service. They provided me 2 hard copies of the inspection and also a digital link with color photos along with very detailed explanations of their findings. I’ve done several of these pre purchase inspections in my quest for a car, and these guys are the best! Very impressed with the digital links and pictures.

I took my vehicle in for an appointment yesterday. I had the pleasure of being checked in by Richard. After a short discussion, he made me aware that my issues should be covered under my vehicles warranty. I was shocked with his candor and honesty! He could have easily provided the services I asked for and profited (Kindreds price was 35% cheaper than my dealer) but he decided to be more than fair...honest! I brought my truck in to a shop that was merging with Kindred last year and had to have significant work done to the rear seals. A month later problems surfaced, and Kindred made repairs at no cost to me. Additional problems surfaced this month, and Kindred replaced replaced my wheel bearings and seals, again at their cost. I’m very impressed with their desire to get the job done right!

Weve always had a great experience at Kindred Auto. Theyve always been clear and laid out a plan to get things done. In a order of priority. They won us over about three years ago when the dealership wanted to charge us $1,600 to replace fuel pumps in our car. Kindred Auto immediately went to the problem which was a relay switch that cost us less than $100. They have never been pushy. 100% trust in this company.

I rarely write reviews but had to in this case. I am a degreed engineer in the automotive industry originally from Detroit, MI (The Motor City) & am very picky with whom I do business with. I have found it very difficult to find a legit repair shop here in Charlotte that does thorough quality work. I have a custom 2006 Chrysler Sebring where two local shops did a hack job on my vehicle after having the engine & trans rebuilt. Nothing but issues after. Kindred took the time to review the engine, take pictures of issues and explain what the other shops had done wrong! They also have loaner cars available which saved me hundreds of dollars with them needing my car for over 2-3 weeks. Richard and Bobby (certified Chrysler mechanic) definitely have a customer that will be returning. My car now runs smooth as ever! If you seek a shop that gets the job done right the first time and that you can trust...I advise you try them out.

Rob and his team have serviced our 3 vehicles over the last few years. We moved to SC from MD several years ago. I had a pretty reliable mechanic there but needed one close by. Looking for a mechanic we could trust was not easy. We did a Google search and came across Christian Family Auto, now Kindred Auto, and we couldnt have discovered a better mechanic to work with. We had a Solara, Jeep Liberty and a Lexus is250c. They have serviced all 3. Their pricing I found reasonable and the service above par. Good business to deal with.

As a woman, I am often worried that I am being over charged or told there are repairs that dont really need to be done. At Christian Family Auto, I do not have to worry about this. Hands down some of the nicest guys around! My family and I recently moved from Chicago and needed to have our Jeep Cherokee looked at, we picked them because of their great reviews. After the initial inspection, they took me through exactly what needed to be done and what should be done in the future, as well as the cost associated with each repair. I was impressed with the service, detail, and personal care from start to finish. My 4 yr old and I waited in their comfortable and clean waiting area while the service was being done and these guys were so extremely kind and playful with her. She absolutely adores them, Joe especially, so much so she cried when it was time to leave! For a mother, that was priceless! We have returned since our first visit and again exceptional service and attention! Whenever we drive down 74 and happen to pass, she says thats where those nice guys are...cracks me up. I had a couple of major repairs to be done last year. The Christian Family Automotive people treated me with respect & care. I was shown what they needed to repair, which gave me confidence in their services. I have not had any trouble with what they repaired & replaced @ all. Yesterday, I went to them because I did not pass my inspection due to muffler & tire problems. I was told ahead of time how much it would cost for a diagnostic. I left the car this morning. They called me to tell me that it would cost more if they were to fix it because they would have to change the whole pipe out. Whereas Midas or Meineke had the equipment to cut & weld the pipe for half the price. How fair!! They even took my car to the tire place where Id already gone to get a quote on new tires! What a blessing to have such integrity!! I was, also, surprised when they told me how much the diagnostic would cost & it was a good bit lower than the original quote from yesterday! I am so grateful to God for their credible service!! I encourage those who have read these reviews to take them seriously & bring your vehicles to Christian Family Automotive!!

Great business! I scheduled a pre-purchase inspection and they were able to accommodate my schedule just a few days in advance. The dealership did not have my car ready at the scheduled time and Kindred was extremely flexible with changing my appointment time twice and when I arrived late, they still got me right in (and it was New Years Eve). They performed a top notch thorough inspection in about 1hr and charged a competitive price of $80. They immediately texted me a detailed report of the inspection findings along with photos. They even allowed me and my family to look at the undercarriage of the car to show us their findings. I was able to make an informed decision before I decided to purchase the car. They were all professional, friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend Kindred. I live out of town but if I was local, I would use their services regularly!

I had a number of repairs performed. One of the problems was the check engine light came on due to evaporative system code. They tested the system and said it was fine. A dishonest repair shop would have replaced the evaporative system and charged me over $800. They also checked the belts and said they were fine, no need to replace. This is a repair shop you can trust.

Been a customer here for several years and last time I was there I noticed new mechanic staff. Last time I got my oil changed, the mechanic left the oil filter loose. It took several days to pin the issue down to a loose oil filter and figure out why I had new oil drops on my new driveway everyday. I know mistakes happen, however this is oil change 101. That being said I dont think I will be back. This is a real shame because their customer service and overall friendliness was always a 10.

The Christian Family Automotive staff members are always helpful and friendly. They make a serious effort to understand your needs, and they provide excellent service. They always explain what they are going to do and how much it will cost prior to performing any maintenance. Over the past few years I have had major work done to my vehicle. It likey would have cost me much much more at some other shop. They have kept me on the road and away from dealerships. I havent had a car payment in 7 years. My first choice for automotive care will always be Christian Family Automotive.

My experience was ok. When I first went to have my vehicle looked at I was told they do free estimates, and should only take about 30 minutes so I made an appointment to get a squeak looked at. When I came back for the appointment I was told that only their courtesy check was free and that they might charge. That kind of frustrated me because it was misleading. I told them to go ahead and he said there might not be a charge, well there was.Well, they took about an hour and half and cost almost $100 dollars, just for a check. Had I of known that I was going to have to pay $100 just to get it looked at I would have checked it myself. The staff was polite but I felt like they were misleading in what they were telling me, since I work on cars as a hobby I questioned some of the things I was told.They probably do good work and a pretty honest I just dont think I will be going back. Your experience may differ.Update - I was contacted by the owner, apologized for the miscommunication. Very friendly and understanding. Feel better about my experience. This is a personable company and I feel like they want to connect with their clientele.

We went to have approximately $500 worth of work done today. We needed to speak to the owner who was on the phone. We waited patiently 10-15 minutes and HE NEVER GOT off the phone. We could hear the entire conversation and he was just offering the customer a myriad of suggestions. We left and feel he was very rude. A workman on his team came inside twice to speak to him and left to go back to work for the same reason.

Whats not to love about this place? Everyone I spoke with both on the phone and in person was extremely polite and helpful. Upon arrival, I was informed that the technician would do a complimentary inspection of several elements of the vehicle. They gave me an honest report of what things needed to be changed immediately. They go out of their way to answer any question you may have in-depth. I also found out that several other things that mechanics had told me in the past few months were not correct, and that there were some things that had plenty of life on them that the other mechanics wanted me to change right away. They certainly go above and beyond in every way possible. Thanks for your honesty and integrity. Its very uncommon these days.

Yes, this may be an establishment full of seemingly nice and knowledgeable mechanics, I feel that I was ripped off and taken advantage of. After going there to get a brake light replaced and a NC state inspection, I was told that the middle brake light on my 2010 Honda Civic was out and wouldnt pass inspection if I didnt fix it. Since this wasnt my first time going there, they knew I had another issue with the struts on my vehicle. That was going to be my most expensive job to get done.So I came back to get the middle brake light fixed and get my passed inspection so I could pay my property tax in time. Well after installing the light, they did my inspection just to tell me they couldnt pass it AGAIN do to the struts. It didnt make any sense to me that they wouldnt tell me that was going to be an issue in passing my inspection before. And it really isnt a safety issue at the end of the day. They just wanted me to spend even more money with them, basically an upsale as I was informed by another mechanic. I truly felt I was taken advantage of. I spent money I didnt really need to spend because of greed.Not to mention one of the mechanics seriously suggested I ride around with bad tags till I have enough money to get that job done. Well they estimated it to be about $900. I am a 22 year old that doesnt make that much money where I can just save that in the time I would actually need it. Right now it would take me a good two months to save 1,000. I cant risk being pulled over just for someones opinion on why my car shouldnt have passed inspection. Needless to say I got my inspection passed elsewhere and definitely wont be returning here as a customer as I feel they see people that may not know much about cars and what actually matters forwards a state inspection and just do whatever it takes to suggest spending more. They just wanted that $900. Also I got a quote from somewhere else that said theyll get the same job done for 300 less. Same place I went to to get my engine mount fixed. They also charged way less for that. Compact Car Services. Just google them and give them a call. Very nice HONEST staff.

My car wouldnt start. I needed it fixed by time i had to go to work or i would be bicycling 9 miles in the NC heat. Cristian auto not only diagnosed and fixed the problem in time, they also keeped me updated on what was wrong and when it would be fixed. I could tell they genuinely cared. I will be going back (but hopefully not too often) ;-)

It was very last minute, I called them to setup an appointment Wednesday afternoon, and they fit me later that day at 5pm!They were very thorough and took the time to walk me through everything good and bad about the car I was interested in purchasing. They told me not only everything they found wrong with the car, but explained why it was bad and how bad it was from a small detail to a potentially expensive fix. Fortunately, I was comfortable with everything they found on the vehicle and made the purchase! I will be using Christian Family Automotive for all my car servicing!

Car was in and out super fast. They tried to save me money where they could, but did not skimp on service to do it. When they made a mistake and had to fix a leak, they were truthful and did not charge me for the extra fluid or repair.

Came in to get A/C vacuumed out a recharged. After they vacuumed the system and charged it, the compressor did not turn on. So Robert came in and told me what the problems may be and what my options are. He gave me an estimate on the cost of labor and stuck to it. He found the problem and showed it to me. Robert (owner) is a one of a kind mechanic who puts the customers first, not his pocket. The staff he hires also provide exceptional service and are friendly and real. If youre looking for an honest mechanic who has the tools and the know-how to repair your car, look no further!

TOTAL RIP OFF. I sent my wife there for check engine light and check ebrake. They charged us $119 to diagnose and then convinced her to change the transmission fluid. The costs for that were $117 for labor and $120 for synthetic ATF? This is a CLEAR case of we have a woman in our lobby lets take advantage of her. At no point did we ask them to dig around in the transmission for a brake and check engine light. BTW, the light turned out to be a loose gas cap. STAY CLEAR, THEY WILL TRY TO RIP YOU OFF

I could not be more pleased with the customer service at this shop! I had my 2003 Jeep towed here on a weekend & was out of options after a Mobile Mechanic had made my initial problem a whole lot worse.Kelley was friendly & willing to work with me on having the car dropped off after hours--and then called me to explain what they had found to be the problem. My greatest respect came for this shop after they were initially going to proceed down one path of repair until just at the last minute they tried something (far less expensive to repair) and resolved 1 of my 2 problems, while on the phone with me. They didnt proceed with the original plan & charge me an exorbitant amount of money, instead they worked through the problem and did an honest repair instead of a financially profitable repair for themselves. Later, working on the second problem--Robert even talked with me and explained how & why a repair was necessary.This business is well worth the drive for me from the Rock Hill area and as much as I dont look forward to any mechanical problems with my car in the future--I can say that I dont hesitate returning to Christian Family Automotive for their exceptional mechanics and stellar customer service.

I have used CFA twice. Both times (Spark plugs misfiring and stuck window) they did all the necessary troubleshooting to locate and fix the problem. No more no less. Honest and fairSpark plugs in a F150 are notorious for breaking off in the engine. They were able to remove and replace mine for $1,100, much lower than my other quote of $3,600 from a larger franchise repair shop. They know their stuff!I would highly recommend CFA for all auto repairs.
