Staff is always friendly and courteous and knowledgeable. I went there looking for a specific Craftsman 5 piece set they had it in stock. Only problem is they have every single one of their tools locked up behind glass with the exception of hacksaw blades or small inexpensive tools. If you need vise grips their behind glass, if you need a Dewalt battery for your drill their behind glass basically anything that has value is locked up behind glass. Then you have to get a associate to unlock it and walk it up to the counter. I felt like I was making a withdrawal of gold from Fort Knox just to get a wrench set that cost $36.99! I found this to be bizarre and unnecessary considering this is Independence! Store is always clean and staff is always nice and courteous but tools are under lock and key! This is a huge disappointment and inconvenience from a old school mom and pop hardware store! This definitely takes away the old nostalgia and luster from this hardware store!! Very disappointed!!!

I came in the other day and the store associate Trinity was so helpful to me. She helped me find what all I needed and had a very cheerful demeanor. It’s hard now days find people cheerful in their line work and she was. I will be back to this location from now on

I came here out of desperation, left with a restored faith in humanity. My 8 month old Furnaces 24V transformer died on a Friday night and the company that installed it, which used to do 24 hour repairs, no longer does. After 2 calls to other 24 hour service companies, none had any available that night. I knew it was the transformer, so the next morning I called Johnstone in Florence and Cincinnati, they wouldnt sell to a lowly customer unless you were a registered and licensed. Um ok... R.E. Michel, same thing. Searched HD, Lowes Websites, no dice, Amazon could get it to me Sunday but that would be another night of no heat. Enter Independence ACE. They had the 24V 40VA transformer on their website listed as in-stock. Despite calling the store and them unable to hear me trying to verify inventory, I drove, bought the transformer, and saved the day. 3 days later Im still waiting on a call-back from the company that installed my furnace... :( The associates were super helpful, friendly, helped me find it, asked if I needed help finding anything else. Super experience in this day and age where no one wants to work. So my faith in humanity is restored, I just hope the next guy who needs a 24V 40VA transformer and is handy, doesnt have to deal with the distributors and the headache trying to find one locally.

I found this store to be very local to me and the store clerk was very helpful. I do believe her name was Trinity. She had an optimistic attitude and a delight on helping me find what I needed.

Everyone is always so friendly and willing to help even the kids who don’t know much but they will get a adult when they get lost. Very happy with this location.

The store was nice and well stocked. The layout is somewhat odd but it does make sense. Prices are higher than the bigger store but the convenience offsets that. The thing that struck me was the employee that helped me was open carrying a handgun. I carry concealed so that wont stop me, but my daughter who actually lives by the store will never go in there again. Think about that.

Went in and had 4 employees immediately ask if we needed assistance. One individual particular definitely went above and beyond and helped us create something very specific for our water pump. We will recommend to everyone.

They had everything I was looking for hardware wise and the employees were very helpful showing me where everything was so I got in and out very quickly. Ill come back for any hardware needs!

Great place, they have this young guy there, maybe 19 or so but he is so cute “Mail me :)”, the employees are knowledgeable of the basics and they helped me a lot, I gave a 4 star because i went there 1 day at 8pm and they closed at 9pm however the store was closed and 1 employee was in the parking lot Skate Boarding with his friend.

Excellent customer service dealing with a busted Craftsman chainsaw. Worked only the first time I took it out of they box, but Ace is making it right.

I found everything I needed. But I cant stand being followed around the store by different employees.. Because they solely judge someone by their looks and quality of gym shoes. I was only in store for 15 mins... To be asked that many times do you need help finding something... And my answer just looking around didnt work for them obviously! So thats why I rate it a 1.

Ive never been in an ace hardware before but I went to the one in independence a few hours ago. Everyone in there was extremely helpful and the cashier was amazing too. Ill be coming back.

Great selection of products, friendly staff and great prices

Really poor customer service. Employees always talking to one another or customers about personal things ... must be friends. They routinely pull the wrong products when doing online order pickups. Then they return things to store credit ... and recharge you for the items without your coupon from online applied. And then you can’t get your money back, only store credit, when you need to return items they pulled and gave you the incorrect products (but you were charged for the correct items). It’s really mind boggling. I will gladly drive into Florence in the future to avoid this place.

Visited on a Sunday morning in April during the covid-19 pandemic. Restrictions were being enforced so there was a short line - only about a 5 min wait. Staff was most helpful and very friendly. Someone always seems to be on hand when entering the store to ask if you need help.

Spent $599.00 for a grill assembled only to get it home and find out it was assembled wrong. I had to return for bolts and was going to have to buy wrenches, thats why I ordered it assembled. This would be a lesser rating but the staff was genuinely sorry and helped as best as they could.

This place is great for home maintenance or small dyi projects. If you need a nut, switch, latch, lock, toilet repair, or any common part, piece, or tool this is a good stop.Staff is helpful and friendly at every visit.If you have a huge project, or want a wide selection maybe consider a bigger store. You can stop in here for the things you forgot.Better selection of cleaners, solvents, and insect control than grocery stores.

I have been sitting out in my car for 20 mins now waiting on my curb side pickup. Ordering on line was easy. But to have to sit out here waiting so long did not help make it a faster way to shop. I am watching people go in shop and back out and I am still here.

Super friendly and very helpful. Very knowledgeable across a wide diversity of household product. A little expert in everyone. Easily seen from roadway with pentiful parking. Handicap accessible. Sells Kentucky Fishing and Hunting License with extra Trout Stamp and Doe Tags. Definitely a repeat. Highly recommended.

Quick to give help with what I needed.

We had to pick up some straw for the dogs area in the back yard. Ace Hardware is close to our house and since they have been getting more and more of what we need for our house, the choice was easy.We got to Ace and were greeted by several happy employees, they went out of their way to help.Ace Hardware seems to stock more items then in the past, and we are pleased.

I use Ace Hardware when I just must get it done by today! Sure, their prices are a little more expensive than many of their giant competitors but you have to also consider what your own time is worth. They simply get it right every time that I stop in! For a smaller location it is a pleasant surprise that they have so much great inventory to choose from. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. I would have given them a 5 star rating if the prices were just a little lower! As Always, Enjoy!

They do a good job of keeping things stocked and clean. Its not as large as some of the big box stores and prices are fairly steep in comparison. But they have a descent selection of quality products. With a rewards card you receive monthly coupons valued at $10.00 or more, in addition to their coupon flyers and sales. So good deals are out there if you shop frugally.

I feel the Independence Ace Hardware is an amazing place to find a solution to any hardware problem. The store has a decent selection of quality products, extremely helpful staff, amazing rewards, and has decent prices.In response to the review posted by Dan Hally the Independence Ace does not sell drywall, but does have a good selection of drywall patching equipment. Also, the Independence Ace does carry lumber. Finally, the date you posted your review was also the day of the Ace Christmas party. It was clearly noted on every door and at every register that the store would close at 4pm.To conclude, in my opinion, the Independence Ace Hardware is never a wasted trip. Every trip I have ever made to this locally owned store was a learning experience where I was greeted and helped by extremely nice people.Bravo Independence Ace Hardware.

Ordered online and had it delivered to the store. Sometimes what is shown on website is not what is in the brick and mortar store. Best call and ask first. Reps are friendly and efficient.Found coop poop for $13.98 for a 25# bag. Best price around here. My SFG is gonna love this compost

This place is great and very helpful. I do a lot of refinishing projects and its convenient for stain, sanding pads, etc. They are a little more expensive but they are always sending me coupons, which brings me back.

My experiences of going do this Ace are mixed at best. They don’t sell any drywall other than small patch pieces, and no lumber but a large selection of pipe...I checked online to see how late they were open on Sunday. It said 6 pm so I decided to drive 15 min there instead of 20 minutes to Home Depot in the opposite direction, only to get to the front doors to see a coupe of teenagers goofing around at the register and told me through the glass they were closed. It even said open Sunday til 6pm on the window, ANOTHER wasted trip for me to Ace. My opinion, just go to Home Depot or Lowes. It may be a farther drive, but your chances of finding what you need are far more promising not to mention cheaper.

Great for getting household items especially if you are moving, or need repairs done instead of traveling a much longer distance,and navigating a very large store to find these things. Mr. Porcelain (aka Jeff) would not go away for 2 seconds so we could think about what we actually wanted. He stalked out my brother when he tried to go get a good deal on heat lamps. Because he thought we didnt know what we needed. He INSISTED on PORCELAIN HEAT LAMPS. It was obviously the better choice. To him maybe, because it was more expensive. All in all, it was a crappy experience.
