Over two weeks and counting still no idea when we will get my sons truck back. The person answering the phone is rude. We have been told parts then the next time someone’s out. Now it’s just I don’t know when you’ll get it. Mine took a few more days last time that fine. But weeks no clue. Our family has sworn by this place for years for transmission work. But something has changed.

I had a gasoline leak. that turned out to be a discnnected fuel filter. My car was fixed. professionally and in no time I was back on the road.

My car was driving funny so I took it to the Nissan dealership in Lees summit and they told me it was putting out “transmission death codes” and quoted me $6000+ for a new transmission. I didn’t feel right about that being the issue so I decided to take it to Cotteman after doing some internet research. I am so glad I did. They were so honest and went the extra mile by keeping my car for several days to look at every possible issue it could besides the transmission because they told me they weren’t getting any “death codes”. I was so pleased when they called to tell me it was a cracked hose that controlled the air input into the engine instead of the transmission going bad and it would only be a couple hundred dollars to fix. I appreciate this companies due diligence and honesty. They saved me from getting scammed by Nissan.

Best service in town. Theyre honest and they do their research. They fixed my a part of my transmission for the best price in town and they work quickly. Would highly recommend.

I was happy they found the transmission wasnt the problem and I only needed a tune up. However, it seemed the price for the parts was a little high. I certainly respect the fact and expect the service center to make a profit on the parts but the explanation was not true. I was told the price I was paying was the same as I would pay retail at the parts store. However, checking the price using the part numbers on the invoice at the same store I was told they use, I see the prices were doubled.

Person was rude in quoting a price for transmission work seemed like he was making stuff up it doesnt take 8 hrs to take a transmission out especially with a vehicle lift and power tools I mean come on extremely overpriced on there quote for labor and parts

Took my truck there a couple years ago cost me over $2,000 my transmission lasted 40,000 MI had him do it again cost me another $2,000 transmission lasted 44,000 MI I would not recommend this place to nobodynow I need a complete new transmission and I will be paying another $2,000 this time a personal friend that knows what hes doing.

VOLUNTEERED REVIEWI have a 2005 Dodge Neon and the engine light came. Long story short, Transmission chaos! The amount to repair the car is more than the value, so Ive opted to not get it fixed. Instead invest that amount in a new car.Only had the pleasure of dealing with Brian but he was phonomenal. His customer service was on point! Even though I didnt purchase any services, I didnt feel any pressure. I told him of my financial situation and was more than willing to accommodate. From what Ive gathered, very transparent and great people person.

I am extremely satisfied with the Customer Service I received from this business! From the time I called, a tow truck was here within 30 minutes and a return call of the details of my transmission problems was within two hours after that. I received updates from Brian & a finalized total amount of the cost which was taken care of over the phone. My S.U.V. was towed on Monday & on Friday with a totally rebuilt transmission I picked up my vehicle! Everything was described in detail to me & I was left with no questions. I am a very happily satisfied customer & will reccomend to friends and family to use Cottman Transmission for their vehicles. Brian really rocks at Customer Service both on the phone & in person. Rude Lady, Even though website states (Our service center maintains hours every weekday and on Saturdays,) and (We will road test your car, perform our FREE and exclusive TransCheck 21 PLUS® Service) this is a lie. They are closed on Saturdays and they charge for their TransCheck 21 PLUS® Service. The very young man and older lady behind the counter are rude and non-educated as to what their company advertises that they provide. The shop is filthy and smells like wet dog. I defiantly do NOT recommend.

Cottman did an excellent job and replaced the clutch the same day and got me back going again. They were very nice and took great care of my truck. Definitely will be doing business with them again

Just picked up my truck from this place. My truck is running better than it has ran in years. They did an awesome job on my transmission, the service was excellent. When I left I DID NOT have that sinking feeling that Id just been ripped off. I highly recommend this place!!

I appreciate the mechanics who completed the work on my vehicle, they have great customer service skills.. I however, did not appreciate the front desk. They lacked communication skills, a unwillingness to listen and very unorganized. Work was completed on my vehicle without a courtesy phone call before they began. Not a very good front desk experience.

I have been doing business with Cottman since about 1980. They are friendly professional fair priced and prompt. Transmissions are great and also good with other issues your vehicle might have.

Great service. I took it in thinking I was boned and would have to service the transmission. They tested it and found it was an inexpensive sensor that was causing the problems. They didnt try and sell me 1000 different services, they fixed it and got me back on the road fast. I buy and sell cars on the side and they will be receiving all my business should I come to need transmission repairs!

There are new owners at this shop. Wow! What a difference!I had taken my car some place else that told me I needed new tires. I had recently purchased new tires, so I didnt think they were correct. I brought my car into Cottman of Independence and they had me repaired and back on the road in a short period of time! My car is running great now!I cant thank them enough.

The guys at Cottman did a great job. Hands down I would recommend them. It is hard to find an auto care place that you can have complete trust with, but I know for sure I found them. Rhett did a great job getting me in and out. I will definitely be back.

My clutch went out in my Jeep and I was horrified at how expensive and time consuming the job would be.Enter Cottman. The price was still in line with other places but what made them above and beyond was the extras. They came and towed my car to their shop and immediately diagnosed it. It was indeed the clutch. They repaired it the next day and now I have my car back. I was so impressed! So from now on, any repair I need will ALWAYS be done at Cottman in Independence.

They gave an estimate and when they were done it was a few dollars under. It was also done when they said it would be. It was easy to find. They dont provide tow service but the service I used knew where it was.

These guys not only did our complete transmission rebuild in a week, they also found ways to save us money and offered to recheck the system free of charge after 1000 miles just for my peace of mind. Wonderful crew to work with and I would highly recommend them to everyone!

This place has my car for almost a year, didnt keep in contact with me I kept calling them. They would tell me different stories about what was wrong with my car, eventually it got fixed ..... So I thought. 3 months later my transmission went out AGAIN I brought it back in took them 4 months to tell me what was going on. I was nice through the whole thing when I shouldnt have been. And NOW my car is STILL not right I checked my fluids and the coolant looked like baby puke, the transmission fluid was white. Which is not good I paid 2500 for them to rig my car back together and its still not fixed right. DO NOT GO HERE.

Free estimate and were honest and up front about what they could do for me and the problems with my Ford Powershift Transmission. Did not try to convince me of any specific path for fixing my problem. I appreciate their honesty and would recommend them to a friend.

These guys know there stuff an dont over charge you cause your a woman.

Very unprofessional, would only answer my questions if I paid them to do a diagnostic. Which I told them I already had done and had the paperwork to prove it and then started to put down the business that did it saying they dont know how to do it right. And most of all, spoke to me like I was a nobody unless I was letting them work on my car. (AND THAT WAS THE OWNER ) SO SHE SAYS

They came to pick up my Pontiac solstice yesterday claims that the clutch is bad and that the clutch kit cost 900 + dollars upon research found they are overcharging for the clutch kit which only cost roughly 300 to $500 . they claim that the repair cost estimate was $1,800 when I arrive at the shop and got a written estimate it was $1,900 and over they say I am approved for financing for $1,800 yet they do not offer any supporting documents to show how much the rates interest and payments would be no documentation I have a bad feeling about this company and will take my car somewhere else I dont trust the Management they dont appear to be honest they seems kind of shady

I applied here some years ago, had an interview the boss was completely rude demanding that must automatically know how long it takes to pull a certain transmission, Im quick that what other auto shops have told me its not like I literally timed myself, I was instantaneously disqualified for the position on that note, not even worth my time to ever apply there again, how rude and pathetic to not even give someone a chance to show you what they can do, Id rather push a semi across Noland to another shop to get it fixed then deal with this rude boss
