I love that this Safeway is close by, has avid parking, stays open late, and its a full store. The self checkout is great, and so is the Starbucks inside. It even has a lotto machine. Sometimes its understocked, and the produce and seafood section can be underwhelming. Shout out to Brittany, she is the best clerk there!!!

While parking was originally a bit difficult to find (also because I first came here at night), that doesn’t take away from the fact that it’s a very nice store with very great hours because it’s open late. The prices may not be as be as ideal as Lidl or something of the sort but they’re not bad if you sign up for their membership (which is free). Would recommend coming here and possibly planning your grocery trip beforehand to save even more.

This is a great store. It’s very clean and organized and it has an express checkout lane and self checkout as well. At the entrance there are wipes for you to sanitize your car although they are already sanitized. Overall great place highly recommend coming here.

Went to go get some fresh fruit and veggies this morning and the produce department looks amazing!! Saw the new manager of that department, she’s awesome!

Great store, everything I looked for was stocked. The day I went it wasn’t busy at all it was at 12pm, the staff that I encountered were all polite. Cashier was very courteous. Overall great experience!

The experience here sometimes is mixed. Overall theres generally helpful courteous staff with a few ratchet ones sprinkled about. Prices are reasonable and selection is decent. Just doesnt feel as up market as it believes itself to be. Its one thing to believe that you are and theres one thing to show that you are. I would advise focus on demonstrating consistently. But hey, you know better right?

I went to this store to pick up a fedex package, the African customer service agent (Abdul) was very rude and unprofessional. He was busy chatting and laughing with a colleague while I was standing there looking at him. When asked him to please hand over my package to me he was infuriated, started fiddling with stuff on his desk just to keep me standing and waste more of my time. When my package was right there in clear view. I stood patiently until he was done with his delay tactics. At his own chosen time, he eventually handed over the package to me. Management, please train this man properly. He is not fit to serve the public.

My go-to grocery store. They always have decent sales on the things I need. They are well stocked. Their produce is fresh and up to par most of the time. There are times when their strawberries or broccoli need to be replaced because they are going bad, however I’ve never had a problem with other items. They have enough cashiers and self check outs. I’ve never stayed in a long line. And I always have a place to park because the parking garage has two floors. The first two hours of parking are free.

Cashiers are angry all the time, never friendly with hispanic costumers specially the cashier Cathey she attended me frecuenly and all time she ignore me never tell how much is my account, but I love Safeway always is clean and organized.

Love this newer Safeway store. The self-checkout saves times. This store has good selection of products. The produce department is awesome! The sushi is very good and love the deli selections too. Safeway Just for U has good coupons to save money with my Safeway card.

Most stores are well with service over all Manager do there best in what they are dealing with.But other area are not. This one Minasta ave store has always been definitely hard to work and shop at.

Rossana was so nice & helpful. She went above & beyond with her help. The security guard was also very nice. the store itself is always so clean, organized, as well as being well stocked too.

This Safeway is a great addition to the neighborhood after the old Hyattsville Safeway on Hamilton Street closed several years ago. Its design is much more urban than most other grocery stores, with garage parking in lieu of a sprawling surface lot, and two entrances that feed onto a pedestrian-friendly sidewalk. Located near the Prince Georges Plaza Metro station, its a great walkable grocery store with good prices and variety. Does it get busy at peak times (after work and on Sunday afternoons/evenings)? Of course it does, but so do most grocery stores. And like many a Trader Joes, even when the express line is snaking for what seems like an eternity, it generally moves pretty quickly.

The Safeway at Prince Georges Plaza is very,very nice! It is huge,they were well stocked,it is very clean,organized and neat! I found everything I was looking for and I will definitely shop there again 😘😘

I have been a customer of Safeway for many years. I especially like the one on East West Hwy. The Bakery, flower center and deli are excellent.

Quick and easy. Well organized. I noted that it was good that they moved the Candy sign towards the back of the store to help parents avoid pressured candy purchases.

Vegans Dream! Clean, healthy atmosphere. As soon as you walk in you can feel a different experience from regular grocery shopping.

Safeway is a bit pricey, but you can always get in and get out in a timely fashion. There are rarely long lines here. In the end, its totally worth it. Park at the top of the garage and take the elevator down if you dont want to drive around looking for a good or close parking space. This Safeway is a great place to pick up beautiful last minute flowers too!

For All You Watermelon 🍉 Enjoyers Out There...If, perchance you venture past the kiosk as you come into the store, they offer large containers of pre-selected/pre-sliced chunks of our favorite, Watermelon 🍉! I mean, what better way to enjoy it, already to drive-in! BUT, be forewarned, my purchase last night was very DISAPPOINTING (to say the least). WHY, you ask? Simply because i had to throw away OVER A THIRD of it because it was the hard, distasteful whiter section thats generally automatically rejected by everyone who knows whats up with eating Watermelon 🍉! OVER A THIRD! DARN CLOSE TO HALF!Moral of the story: Be real careful, if you decide to get Their watermelon offerings! REAL CAREFUL! ENUFF SAID.

I ordered my wedding bouquet from them. Fatima, the floral manager, made my day more memorable. Such a lovely lady!

I love my friendly neighborhood Safeway! The cashiers and Managers give you an at home feel. They always make sure to recognize you as a frequent shopper, not only myself but I’ve witnessed them showing the same consideration to many! Clean organized and always well stocked! My Son with Asperger’s is a former employee and they always ask me about how he’s doing and send him their hello’s😊

Visited this Safeway over the weekend and was pleasantly surprised by the stores clean location and outstanding customer service. Major thanks to Joe (Meat Manager) for his assistance in fulfilling a last minute order request. From entry to exit, the entire process was smooth and seamless.

Before going to Safeway I had driven to 4 others grocery stores to find what my mom needed. I went to Safeway and everything I was looking for was there I will definitely return.

I love the prices and that the store is very clean. One of the workers always recognizes my son. She gives him stickers and makes him laugh while we stand in line. My only dislike of the store is that there is usually only one cashier open for customers buying MORE than 15 items. I reccomend opening up a second line, especially on Sunday afternoons. Oh and I love the customer in training carts. Perfect for my sons size.

Honestly, i believe they are much more EXPENSIVE then their competition, in this area. On average, depending of course on the items being compared, $1.00 to $1.50 MORE! For the majority of US, that is enough to keep US from purchasing from Safeway, everything we may have initially intended to purchase. For yours truly, it has caused me to only purchase items from them (Safeway), that are just not available at the other stores when ive decided to shop. Safeway Is Just Too Expensive.

This location is where I go for food and where I received my Vaccine.

The produce is decent and the store always seems clean. Its accessible enough that I like going there. I dont really interact with the staff that much, but there are people available in the event you have a question!My only gripe is that the aisles are really narrow so I find myself running into people a lot more often then I prefer but thats typical for a lot of stores

The experience was great. I went in around 2:30pm. I was out of the store in less than 15-20 minutes.

The entry into the parking garage is very narrow, I had a hard time finding customer service which is the middle of the check stands, which should have been set off to the side so that customers could locate them. Thankfully the customer service representative was there and was very helpful.

I had an unpleasant experience at the self check outs. I reported it and it was taken care of the same day.

I suggest parking on the second level. There is a large elevator for entering and exiting the store with a cart. There is sometimes an issue the the service counter not being staffed. They have a large selection of items in the store and really good Potato Salad from the Deli department.

They say you dont appreciate something until its gone. Well, now that Im gone from the area, I realize how much I loved this Safeway (a chain i generally dont even like!).The staff, employees, cleanliness, selection, location, size and convenient hours of this store are the best youll find anywhere! Especially the late night cashiers and stockers who I came to know over time. I wish i could take this place with me!

The staff was all super friendly; I was asked by like 3 different staff members if I needed help (I mustve looked confused?). Produce was all fresh and well organized as usual in most Safeways. My only complaint is the store is small and so they dont have a very big selection of some items (e.g., only mission brand tortillas and very little variety). But nice and clean and wonderfully staffed so Id definitely shop here again.

The staff is always nice and helpful. However, there are always gnats on the onions and sometimes the fish and meat do not look of quality. I had to return Salmon before because I opened the packaging and there was a dark spot hidden under the sticker on the package. It looked like the Salmon was going bad and they tried to hide it. Disgusting.

With everything going on the staff is very pleasant. The woman at the seafood counter was exceptionally kind and pleasant. The male cashier was nice also.

Worst store ever

This Safeway is clean and has underground parking. Produce is fresh for a Safeway. Selections are plentiful and the 24hours are the best. Most cashiers Ive had were friendly and seem like they enjoy working there, so someone is doing a good job in management. The stock people are also friendly and I would recommend people to shop here. Thank Safeway! This is definitely one of the best Safeway stores in the area.
