I went in to look at Vic Firth drum sticks tried a pair of 5B hickory sticks loved them. I played 5A but my hands needed a bigger stick these are perfect. Alvin E the sales associate was very helpful and allowed me to try out as much as I needed to decide on these 5B sticks and comparing other brands that were available. Thank you Alvin for a professional and so nice to work with attitude. Great employee.Thank you Music and Arts for being here.
How refreshing to see such quality service and extremely pleasant people. Definitely went above and way beyond my expectations. Keep it up.
This place rocks! Alvin was incredibly kind and helpful on my visit! He not only helped inform our decision, but was extremely personable. “Rest” assured I’ll be back!
Knowledge and helpful. My Ukulele is safely hanging on the wall
These people at rude and mean. Don’t waste your time. Go to Guitar Center where the staff treats you right. Stay far away from these losers.
Bought a brand new bach stradivarius trumpet. Kevin was our OUTSTANDING salesperson. He couldnt have been nicer or more helpful. EXTREMELY knowledgeable and patient. Cant recommend him enough!
The friendliest staff! Lindsay always smiles and its always helpful and pleasant.
The people working there were extremely nice and helpful, they had a great selection of instruments and had a lot of supplies and music books.
Great place to pick up guitar strings. A little bit on the expensive side, but the service and recommendations were phenomenal
Reasonable prices, knowledgeable staff, and friendly.
Lindsey made our experience buying a trumpet a dream. The whole staff is great. Store has everything we needed.
Our daughter has been taking guitar lessons here for several months. Her instructor is kind and an excellent teacher. The staff have always been very attentive and helpful even when the store is very busy.
Bought my first and second Guitar here. The first one the sales guy didnt bother with mentioning things a new player will need like Stand, Tuner, Capo. These are pretty standard things. With a new player you may not think about them though.Second one they over charged me $40 and again no help with thoughts things one may need.If you are an experienced musician they may be a decent place to shop. If you are wanting to learn and do not have experience then find a place with staff that is experienced, Not Music and Arts. The salesmanship here is lazy at best.
Wow! Lots of really bad reviews, and no one from Music & Arts responding. Even if these one/two star reviews are anomalies, what good business doesnt try to build up their brand through a great reputation. Were living in a digital world, and along with word of mouth, online reviews is where people to decide where theyll spend their money. However, if youre getting the majority of your business through contracts with the local school, that might be the reason for the total disregard to your customers.
Went in store to buy a stand for a double bass and for a cello. They only had one so I went home and bought it online. I received the order confirmation by email shortly after. Several days later I hadnt heard back so I went online to check order status, put in my order # and zip code and it said there was no order. Called customer service, waited over 6 minutes for someone to answer and was told that since I didnt create an account then I cannot track my order. She looked it up for me and told me that the stand was on back order and wouldnt be available for a few more months. When I ordered the stand it said in stock. When I received the confirmation email it said delivery in 5 - 10 days. Not until I called to ask was I informed that it was on back order. I had the order cancelled. Very disappointed since I need it ASAP for my daughters cello.
My son is currently taking his violin lessons here with Traysa. She is an excellent teacher and my son enjoys it. The staff here is very friendly and helpful.
Very nice & helpful staff!! Great selection!
Thanks to Lindsey for her assistance and attitude. Pleasant, helpful, and efficient.
The people are extremely nice and helpful! Definitely recommend!
Very helpful staff!
It is a it is a great place to play your instruments in because you can have lessons there and buying and fixing your instruments all the people there are nice and they help you when you want help. I had a good experience of it.
Short and sweet. The team is awesome. I needed a last minutw repair. Brought my guitar here, after being turned down by Kelly guitar repairs, and didnt know the first thing I needed. I just knew my guitar string popped. They were able to help me pick my strings out and Tori repaired them for me and it didnt take long at all. I really do appreciate it. Yall saved the day.
A great place to shop and they Are passionate about music education.
This is an excellent store to buy and to learn.
Awesome service!! Treated me kindly, and helped me re-string my violin.
Great, knowledgeable staff and high quality instruments.
The employees are very nice and the overall atmosphere is very friendly. They helped me find exactly what I need.
Signed up for Violin lessons in January for my 8 year old son. Explained to shop manager that he plays travel baseball and that we might not be able to keep our 7:30 Thurs night time slot once practices start. When practices came around, I called to tell them we needed a different time...at the time they did not have a slot that worked for us, so we waited for a time slot to become available. Never heard back. Charged our Account $140 in March. I called to ask why and they said because we had not been showing up to our lessons, theyd been trying to call. They had the wrong phone number in the system (correct phone number is on the contract) NO ONE had reached me, they charged my account. To Make this right they decided to give me 1/2 of the lessons I paid for. I have showed up to these lessons 3 times now and the instructor has not been there, they didnt even schedule her/us. I was THEN told they would not honor the 3 lessons they offered me until I BOUGHT MORE LESSONS. This is heartbreaking for my 8 year old who just wants to take some violin lessons, and for the teacher who is excellent. This is the most poorly run facility. I am returning my rentals for my sons band instruments AND this violin and looking other places.ETA: Below you will see someone from Music and Arts acting like they care and asking me send them an email. I sent 2, they never responded.
Great place!
Very nice employees and super reasonable prices.
Super friendly & helpful!
A yr ago i rented a clarinet for my daughter after 5 mth she quit band so i return the instrument in this Hurts location . Dont recommend this store at all 😠
Very great place for music stuff
Ive had several experiences with Music & Arts instrument repair over the last 5 yrs. At first I was happy - ignorance is bliss - but Ive since learned how theyre taking advantage of customers. Here are specific details of two of my recent experiences:I took a clarinet for a new pad last year (2015) and was told I needed a complete repad. This upset me since I had just purchased this clarinet ... used but supposedly with new pads. I called the seller who told me to bring the instrument to him. I bought this clarinet from a retired band instructor who likes rebuilding clarinets. I felt I got a great instrument for an amazing price last yr. It came with a one yr guarantee. I relayed what M&Arts told me. He told me it didnt need a new repad at all. His own clarinet has some original pads from when he bought it in 1976! He explained that many retail businesses take advantage of customers who dont know instruments. (Gee, thats me! I used to do whatever I was told by the store!).He happily agreed to re-pad the one bad key for free under his one yr warranty. I was happy but was left with a bad taste from Music & Arts. One year later, memories fade and we have another leaky key. And a second key pad is not looking good per the private lesson teacher. With the suggestion from the band director to go to M&Arts and my wife who said get this done asap, I returned to M&A as the closest place. They told me pads were $30 ea... and told me I really needed a complete repad for $288.I relayed my distrust of their opinion to their rep (Steven?) who had not even looked at the clarinet. In fact, I was talking with a diff employee at the counter when he came over and interrupted to tell me what I needed. I explained that my trust level was already low since they told me the same thing last yr and that I discovered that was not true.I said I just wanted the new pad. Then he said something really offensive. He told me if I didnt take their advice and repad the whole instrument, he couldnt guarantee my instruments playability when they returned it to me. I asked him, Why would you?Not to miss an opportunity to offend a customer, he repeated the warning/threat. I asked again, more heatedly this time: Why would you? I explained, that would be like me taking my car in for replacement tires/windshield wipers and being told it might not be drivable when I return to pick it up.I told him I considered his comment rude and that it felt like a threat. Stephen must like alienating customers because he could not let it go. We were both upset and fuming.I decided I cant do business with a company I cant trust. I called around and found someone who was 25 min away instead of 18 min. A little farther but I could talk directly to the person who was doing the repair, who is the owner. FYI - M&Arts does not allow customers to talk to anyone in their repair facility. The cost was $10 per pad, 1/3rd the price of Mug-you & Arts. Outrageously poor customer service skills at M&A. I highly recommend finding someplace else for instrument repair. Do it to save money; You WILL need repair more than once. And do it for the peace of mind knowing youre dealing with good, honest people.PS Read my review of Forte Instrument Repair if in the mid-cities area. Way better than Brook Mays and Music and Arts … and much less expensive.
