Beautiful place for sewing πͺ‘ needs and very helpful staff
GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICEI have a new embroidery sewing machine that the needle threader was broken. I am new to the area I found this sewing machine repair shop from the reviews. James repaired my machine in a day was very reasonable and courteous. Everyone there wore masks and it was a pleasure to see inside. As soon as my vaccine for COVID is done I will see if they have classes available to people. It was a very professional but a friendly place to go.
May 10 drove 5 hours and dropped off two Viking sewing machines for repair. Designer Ruby D was in need of a new board. Designer Diamond Royal was having issues. Curbside handed off machines discussed issues was told board for Ruby pricey. I wanted them fixed. The Diamond had several issues that needed attention . Tech went inside store with machines typed up work order and brought me tickets. I was contacted later to confirm the charges, with which I had no complaints. Offered a price if I wanted to trade up. I declined. Once both machines were ready, I drove 5 hours to pick them up on Saturday., then five hours home. On Sunday I tried Embroidery on the Diamond and got repeated messages the machine needs to rest, and a flickering screen. Called on Monday, spoke with Brad, explained situation, he did not work on these so I was passed to James. James told me Resting issue is a safety feature on the machine, but if it kept on then they would need to replace the motor. This was one of the issues I had brought it in for repair. The flickering screen. β The touch screen was replaced not the LCDβ. I just do not get it, how could you not repair these items. Tech says it was not doing it there when they tested it. I hate that I spent $400.00 to βrepairβ the Diamond, because here we are 4 days after picking it up and it is dead. It only hums when you try to stitch. Guess what the motor has gone out. Why oh why can we not repair. Or are we just more interested in up selling. Very disappointed
Really like this store. Friendly employees. Find really neat sewing items here.
Very helpful and knowledgeable staff. Ive used them for repairs for years and purchased an embroidery machine earlier this year. I highly recommend them.
Very impressed with the friendly and helpful staff. The repair guy knew what 1970s sewing machine I had brought in for maintenance without opening the cover.
There was a time that I purchased everything from Richland Sewing Center, but not any more. The last few times I was in there I was met with rude customer service people who were only interested in helping me if I were buying a new machine. They expressed no interest in helping me find what I needed. I donβt spend my time and money on any business who meets my needs with rude inexperienced staff. I now buy everything including my new Luminaire from another dealer!. A little further, but at least they appreciate my business!
I called to see if Richland was open and could repair my Singer Talent machine. The engineer was friendly, patient and instructed me in fixing the problem by phone. With a flip of a switch the sewing machine is running and I am thankful. They are now my vendor of choice and I cant wait to register for classes. I will also bring in my machine for general maintenance.
Very cluttered and disorganized. Did not have what I was looking fof.
I drove almost 2 hours to come look at purchasing a scan n cut. As I walk into the store with my husband and 2 kids under 10. Was told my children need mask.. my husband and I were masked and im not masking my children cdc says kids over 10 required a mask.. so you will not get my business..
Very helpful employees, discussed pros and cons of various machines and answered questions and concerns but did not push for a sale - were just very helpful
Lady on the phone was sharp and curt. Not really welcoming. I most likely wont be stopping by to make sewing purchases due to that. She didnt seem to care at all about me or securing my business.
A new found joy in the DFW Metroplex. Excellent customer service, broad product selection, quilting fabrics/designs/tools, embroidery designs, threads, and many more needles and notions. Good stuff. Traded in one Janome serger, bought another. Happy to expand my Texas sewing circle.
Most rude customer service I think I have ever received, this was my first experience at this place after being referred here and I most likely will not be back. They acted very put out by just answering a simple question.
My go to place for all my sewing needs.
Friendly. Helpful. fun classes. Quilting. Applique. Other fun project classes. Classes are less expensive than other places Ive gone to. This has become my distressing place. They care about us not just as customers but about our lives and that of our families.
Owners are on hand to give expert advice. Classes are reasonable prices and small enough for lots of individual attention. There is a whole quilt shop inside, as well as sewing and quilting machines, for sale. They also keep up with the latest fabrics and notions. Quality friendships can be made by attending the regular Dec clubs as well as classes and charity events. They specialize in teaching you to use your machine no matter what the brand. I like buying equipment there because they have the majority of the major brands in one location. That way they dont care which manufacturer I chose and can demonstrate all of them, except Bernina (its next door) so the location is so convenient. They order items for me that they dont stock without an extra fee. They have a concise calendar of events and a discount program. If there is ever any issue the owners handle it promptly. I am very pleased with the value I received for my trade-in to upgrade to a newer model. The owners attend national and international seminars to stay educated on all the machines and products they carry. I could not ask for better service.
Richland Sewing Center not only sells and services sewing and embroidery machines, they provide a wealth of sewing know-how. Everyone in the store is extremely helpful with any sewing/quilting/embroidery question you might have. They offer many classes to help you hone your skills.Richland Sewing is also a great place to go just to get ideas and inspiration. They have different clubs so you can get to know other sewing enthusiasts who have similar interests. If you like to sew or want to learn to sew, this is the place to be!
My serger would not run properly and I brought it in for maintenance. James (I believe that was his name) looked at it and ended up showing me how to thread it and then had me thread it twice so that I could do it on my own at home. He was such a sweet man and saved me so much money by only charging my for a threading lesson! I highly recommend this store! Such sweet staff and atmosphere.
Hot a presser foot screw for my Singer 221-1 sewing machine. This was absolutely a team for me as the machine wad in its original carrying case and left under a carport for 3+ years! The ONLY missing part was the screw. It is working and in MINT condition. Everyone was as excited as I was.
What a great Early Bird Sale on Saturday morning! Braved the dark and the cold and went in my bathrobe (made from vintage 1950s pattern) and had a blast. Great deals, loved the crowd and cant wait til next year!
Very helpful. Will go back when I have more time.
Great service and always caring for their customers.
My wife has purchased 2 machines through them. They are very helpful when we go in. I cant give you information on pricing etc. because my wife does the sewing etc.
I love Richland Sewing Center. They have the best classes with great teachers. The staff is so friendly and helpful. I have been a customer for many years. They carry many makes of machines and will always help you find what you need or want. Stop by, you will be glad you did.
Need beautiful fabric, a sewing, embroidery or quilting machine, an idea or help with any problem? This is your one stop shop. You will walk in and feel at home with the warm, friendly staff! Classes are awesome, service is great. This is,by far, my favorite sewing store!!
Richland is always a great place to go for machines or service or class. Been going to them for over 20 years. Highly recommend, Zoe Ann
After initially being terrified to participate in the groups and classes at Richland Sewing Center, I soon realized there was absolutely no need to feel intimidated. Ive been made to feel welcome by everyone regardless of my skills. The machine and accessory inventory covers the gamut from beginner to pro. Regardless of your budget, these folks take their time to be sure you have the right machine for your skills. The fabric department is well stocked, and Jane is extremely helpful with suggestions and advice.
Great place
I love this store! I bought my sewing machine here, then showed my mom and friend and they got their machines here too. They have top quality, affordable machines and are happy to show you how to use them.
The Early Bird sale was so much fun and such great bargains. This is a wonderful place with wonderful people. So helpful and kind!!

Always good to ship there.
I recently bought a new machine from RSC. Their excellent staff has taken the time to answer all of my questions or offer suggestions about a project. Ive taken 3 classes and learned so much in each one. Ive never felt so comfortable in classes or asking questions. Its been a wonderful experience.
Excellent service, knowledgeable staff, and enormous selection of machines, accessories, embroidery software, fabric, stabilizers, threads, etc. Thorough selection of machine and software classes, technique classes, and project classes. From beginner to expert skill levels, the staff treats everyone with courtesy and respect.
Very helpful and nice. I will definitely come back
My wife just returned from Richland Sewing Center in tears. She is a beginner at sewing and had visited there to buy some additional fabric for a kit she was attempting. She knew she messed it up, but the lady she asked for assistance was incredibly rude telling her she wouldnt help unless they took everything apart which my wife refused to do. It wasnt refusing to help that was the problem, it was raising her voice and making her feel like an idiot. There are two sides to every story and as I understand there was another employee in the store that witnessed this, but under no circumstances should a customer leave feeling like my wife feels now.To add insult to injury my wife purchased the fabric before leaving. Its only $10, but the customer service she received isnt worth a dime. Based on other reviews, this place normally satisfies customers very well. If your a beginner looking for support I would steer clear of this place after 1pm when this ladys shift starts.
Most affordable classes and friendly teachers Iβve had the pleasure of meeting
Let me say first...I have never written a review about anyplace in my lifeβ¦good, bad, or indifferent. I just completed my beginning quilt class at Richland Sewing Center. This too was a first for me. I have not taken a class of any kind for almost 50 years, not since high school. I also have not taken a sewing class since 9th grade Homemaking and I have never quilted. So yes, I was a beginner, as was everyone else in the class. We all came with our sewing machines, everything from brand new top models to very old basic machines and varying degrees of sewing skill. My skill was very low. I can do seams and sometimes they are even straight. I came home with an almost finished runner. Jeanie got me to the point where I couldnβt mess it up any more, but it was the last class, an unscheduled class to learn how to bind, and everyone was tired and had to get up for school/work the next day. I was still keyed up when I got home that I unpacked my sewing machine, set it up and finished the runner. I was so proud of it, flaws and all, that I posted it on Instagram. The class was made up of all ages from late 20βs to 74 and yes, we talked, laughed and got to know a little about each other. Jeannie would have to tell us to be quiet and listen, like any teacher would. Your fellow classmates were also ready to help you when Jeannie and Jane were helping someone else and they were getting it faster than you. I am not sure what I would have done without help from Suzy who sat next to me. My sewing class was what I imagined an old-fashioned quilting bee to be like. If you want no interaction with other people watch a U-Tube Video. I will miss everyone. Jeannie and Jane were very helpful. They were always looking over your shoulder, answering any questions, and helping when I had problems. There was good natured scolding when I would leave my rotary cutter open or the iron down or try to iron my seams. Jane taught me the difference between ironing and pressing. You only Press when quilting. I have a lot of bad habits.Everyone in our class finished their project or like me could finish it up easily at home. One made arrangements to come back and learn the binding at another time. We were all taken care of.I think the hallmark of a good teacher and class is if it instills a love for the subject. I am in love with quilting. I can not wait to start my next quilting projectβ¦ a new quilt for the new grandbaby girlβ¦I better get started before she comes and grows up. So, thank you Jeannie and Jane and everyone else in the class who helped. One lesson learned, do not be too proud to ask for help. donβt come into a class with an attitude and preconceived ideas about how other people should act, and do not isolate yourself from the others in the class and more than anything DO NOT BLAME SNICKERS FOR YOUR OWN FAILURE.
Best staff ever, knowledgeable in their products, friendly, and moreI stumbled upon a Pfaff machine while shopping at Joanns one day. I wasnt really needing a machine but this machine was sweet. Even though I was currently in the Houston area, I contacted Richland Sewing Center to give them a chance to make a sale. I had done business with them once before when we were living in Bedford and remembered they deserved my business. They gave me a great deal on my dream machine. It was worth the days drive up to Houston and back to make the purchase. Not only that, but they took the time to answer all my questions about other machines before I decided that this was the machine I truly wanted and the Pfaff manufacturer was offering a shopping spree with purchase. The staff was so patient and helpful as we picked out additional items to go with the machine. My only regret is that we no longer live in the DFW area so it will be difficult to get back there for future purchases! But it was well worth a day trip and a tank of gas to work with such great people!
Great store Very knowledgeable. Friendly and fun Super selection of machines fabric and patterns
