Every audiophiles dream is here. There are items that you wished you could have bought back in the day. They also have unique and high end items. I could spend hours in this store.

I took a 40 year old amp to them. I knew it was old and rare but didn’t understand the value. It took a few weeks but they found the problem and gave me a repair price. When I hesitated, they were quick to inform me that I owned a very rare piece that they would buy if I didn’t want to fix it. I’m getting it repaired. In this day and age I was blown away at the honesty and integrity demonstrated. They could have easily lied, told me it can’t be fixed and tried to buy it for parts or something. I would not have known better. Thank you Dallas Vintage Audio for restoring my trust in mankind! There are still honest people out there!! Thanks to them, I am putting a family heirloom back in service. The amp was my fathers from the 70’s and I will now have it in my family for future generations.

Really enjoyed coming in here and talking vintage audio with the guys. They were knowledgeable and fun to shoot the breeze with. They have a wide assortment of gear ranging from solid state to tube. As well as oddities that you won’t find anywhere else in the metroplex. I will be coming back in here for future hi-fi needs.

Overall the repair quality was good, price was reasonable, but they were slower than molasses and communication was very poor.I brought in my 70’s Pioneer receiver to get an issue with the phono input repaired. It was a $45 deposit and they said they would call with a price quote before performing the repair. Fine.I called them a week later and they hadn’t gotten to it, they were backed up. Same thing two and then three weeks after I dropped it off. Finally they called me, they were having trouble finding the problem. They called me back 20 minutes later, they’re going to try to replace some transistors.I call back a week and a half later, they said they were waiting for parts. I asked how much it would be, and they said $130. I was fine with the price, but I was massively annoyed that they didn’t call with a price quote BEFORE ordering the parts like they said they would. They also didn’t have an estimated timetable. They called a week and a half later and said it was ready to be picked up (that’s SIX WEEKS after dropping it off for those keeping track). When I picked it up I asked what exactly did they do to it. The guy said, “uh, we put in new capacitors, gave it a cleaning, and *mumble mumble*”.Well, so far it seems to be fixed, so I’m happy with their quality, but their customer service leaves much to be desired. Minus one star for taking six weeks to repair, and minus another star for not calling with a price quote before ordering the parts and performing the repair.

This place is great - one of a kind! I stopped in and checked the place out and was in awe of all the top shelf vintage gear. Ive never seen so much under one roof. Itll take a few trips to see all the goodies in there. I had a great time just talking shop with owner and one of his patrons. I thought his prices were very reasonable. If you are in DFW, take a trip over to Hurst and have a look. Its worth it!

Brought my 40+ yr old Pioneer SX950 here because the audio cut out after 30 seconds. Another shop had it for almost 3 months but couldnt figure it out. These guys had it fixed in a week and for a reasonable price.Very friendly people here. They called me with an estimate which I approved and then called when it was ready. They have a ton of vintage stuff for sale too; receivers, speakers, turntables ... you name it. If you love vintage audio gear, this is the place for you.

These folks cleaned, and tested my 1999 Crown CE-1000 power amplifier, fine. the demoralizing, steely, and icy reception I got, when I picked-up the unit was NOT in keeping of any decent standard of public relations AT ALL. Saddest of all, was a certain BGW amplifier that caught one of my lustful eyes, but I will never darken their doors again. Not by any stretch. I truly lament the closing of Jots Electronics Service in Arlington. They were caring professionals. (consumer alert)!

I was interested in talking about the equipment, maybe buy something. People dont buy 40 year old stuff at premium prices without the heart being involved. The reception I received was horrible. No greeting, short dead end answers to questions about equipment and the shop. I suppose I needed to be 20 years older and be able to relate to going to Foghat or Ted Nugent concerts in high school. Vintage means younger people want older things. Not old people want old things.Treat potential customers well. Young people can use the internet and research. If your business doesnt provide a value add you will be out of business soon.

Beware if you buying a turntable. Apparently the word Serviced means different things to different people. To his technician it means. Slap on a needle...ok it works...good to go. Too many things have been wrong with mine from the beginning and as time has gone on. Corroded interconnects, warped platter mat, generic needle that didnt fit properly and the list goes on.Any vintage audio can be a hit or miss if not Serviced properly. Just be very aware of what you are getting.

You should check this place out before you buy any stereo equipment. So kew-el! If youre thinking of purchasing an expensive stereo at Best Buy or Freys, STOP! and go hear what old fashioned tubes and some real Klipsch loudspeakers can do for your system. You can always go back to the same system everyone else has, theres no shortage of that Chinese junk. This aint your sons iPod. You can actually use your whole ear as God intended! Really good sound is an amazing thing.

Ive been waiting three months for a replacment woofer and midrange, i purchased a set of AR3 from him, for 899.99 plus shipping, the way the listing was written it was like yea ill pay more then usual because they were supposed to be recently restored, etc. Well after about two weeks one of them started buzzing then the midrange and woofer were gone. Im fairely technical guy and i was only apply a Dynaco ST70 to it, not even that loud, but anyways, dont do business with this company, they are bad bad bad. Promise after promise was broken. The only reason i never filed a case with Ebay was because i believed he was going to take care of me, so after the 45 days ebay and paypal said sorry. Maybe he knew that already, and that is why he kept dodging me, ive tried e-mail, left messages, hell he even told me once that he shipped them to me but they were returned, which is impossible because i receive about 3 or 4 pacakages a day, as i work from home, and of course he didnt have a tracking number, so if you want to business with a dishonest, thief, go with Dan at Dallas-AR. in the 13 years ive used ebay and the internet for sales, ive never been treated this way, but you know what, thats a pretty good track record, so oh well, another guy said he could get me the replacements for 340, and then refund me some cash when i send the broken ones in, might have to do that. I dont mean to sound angry and bitter, i just dont want anybody else being ripped off. I can afford the cost, and really at this point paying 340 to just move on is fine with me. Hes the one who doesnt know how to treat customers let alone people. Lies after lies from him :):) Sad but oh well, so buyer beware, sorry for the rant :)
