Why won’t it let me give zero stars!? I never leave a review it this was just too much to ignore. Nothing personal but this was no lie the worst espresso I have ever tasted. It was like sour. It tasted like bile. It was a double shot from H. E. double hockey stix. Luckily my girlfriend paid for it. Like what are they even brewing…an Ethiopian roast for espresso?
Ordered an iced vanilla latte, one size for $5. It tasted mostly of milk, hardly any vanilla or espresso. They also use a ton of ice.
Portola does not use organic, grass-fed milk from the Straus Family Creamery. They still have it posted on their signs and it is false. They switched to non organic milk but never changed their sign. They also have not lowered their price. They still charge the amount someone would pay for the better, more expensive milk but you are getting the cheaper, not organic milk. Please fix this Portola. No one likes to feel like they are being cheated, lied to and ripped off.
Great coffee! Each cup is made using an aero press.
Avoid. Owner heed my advice: replace staff. Your workers are not serving in ceramic after 415pm and will not accept a $10 bill.
Great coffee but completely unfriendly and rude staff. For the price like this the guys should care about training their baristas to care about their customers not just making coffee
Very surprised... I go out of my way to hit a Portola Coffee because their coffee is (typically) so dang good. Ive got nothing but great things to say about the other locations. But this was the worst cappuccino, relative to expectations, Ive had in a long time.
The premise of this place (and all bougie coffee establishments like it) is that good coffee takes time. The line was short when I went, but it still took a long time (about 10 mins for 2 regular coffees, one being on tap).It is high priced, but it is in a resort area, so I will give it the benefit of the doubt in reasoning on the price. The guy at the cashier was friendly and didnt make me feel dumb when I asked a question. Thanks buddy!Overall, I didnt enjoy the coffee as much as I thought I would. I had to add cream to my cold brew, which I dont consider a good sign.
The lady wasnt rude at the front but she wasnt welcoming I believe this spot has the ability to be Chill spot to vibe . The things I noticed was the music there wasnt any.. The guy who made the coffee was cool 😎.I love the idea I may even double back for a t shirt @ some point .. good luck guys
Went here with a couple of friends on Saturday around 1pm. Cute place, with some tables and people doing work. They do have a couple tables that say no laptops allowed, and we were able to snag a spot.
A good coffee stand inside the food court of pacific city. Great tasting coffee and espresso drinks. Cant beat the location either. Just across the street from Huntington Beach
This is for 9/3/2018 experience with an espresso and gaspar. I have been to every Portola Location 10+ times. Worst coffee I have ever tasted was here. Espresso was so bad, i had to ask them to remake it. Gaspar, a drink which should not be very hot was served so bad, it tasted really bad as well. Crew here just don’t care. This is not the typical Portola experience. Hope this is fixed. It is located in a busy shopping mall
Delicious oat milk Gibraltar/Cortado!
Great little spot. Coffee was very good, I had one of their special varieties served black.Staff is very friendly. There were only 2 ladies working here, and a line at least 30 people long. They were really hustling but still managed to be friendly and even took the time to make sure I got a certain discount that I was going to miss out on.Highly recommmend.
One of my fave coffee spots in HB. I always get an Iced Vanilla latte and it is so tasty and creamy. Everyone there is super friendly. They have awesome snacks. They even gave me a sticker for my reusable cup.
Great stop after a delicious lunch
Quiet for a Friday morning. Coffee is subjective and Im sure there are folks liking lighter brews. I tried two of their cold brews on tap. Both were more like a dark tea/light coffee and there was some fruity tones to those samples.I am more of a fan of a bolder full bodied cup. The iced Americano was also on the lighter side. Though it is a nice, clean, trendy place. The baked goods looked fantastic, but I definitely dont need the extra calories. If you are looking for the place, its in the indoor food court area.
Though the customer service experience was more of a 3, the coffee was so great I’m still leaving 5 stars. They mixed up several orders, including mine, and things got a bit chaotic for a bit. The baristas were visibly flustered, but things happen. As far as the coffee, the roast is just right, they know how to pull proper espresso shots (even decaf), the cream is fresh and local, and they keep the sweetness at just the right amount to let the espresso shine through. If you’re looking for a great quality coffee or espresso, I would highly recommend.
Been here once and I mean back in 2016.
Great coffee. The flavor of the vanilla breve is awesome, but at $6 it is an insane amount for a cup of coffee. The small indoor area is similar to the meat packing district, very trendy. Great people watching area.
Meh. Long wait when not busy for kinda mediocre coffee. It some how lands in the area of full flavor strong coffee thats not bitter but still manages to make you wish you were drinking something else. Looks like they are using some kinda electronic aero press. Should have saved my $3 bucks and put it toward a beer.
WiFi is a little spotty, but the location is right on the beach and the staff are friendly! Its also inside a nice mall, so its super spacious as a coffee shop. Perfect spot to get work done.
Best coffee in the county. Light roasted hand selected beans. 3rd wave coffee spot.
I watched the coffee being made to order but it wasnt hot. Couldnt figure out why it was lukewarm. I wouldnt go back.
Service is a bit too slow, but coffee is delicious
Good service. Great coffee. Plenty of tables and chairs to rest and enjoy your cup or simply take it to go.
Great place its inside Pacific City building 405 Cafe
Quality of coffee is excellent. Staff super knowledgeable. Cold brew in particular is spectacular.
The best pourover coffee around. They have well trained employees who make perfect coffee drinks, right across the street from the beach.
Suuuuuuuper slow hipster pour-over, chemistry-set coffee - OMG - two parties in line ahead of me and it took 10 minutes in line just to get a pastry. I gave up on a coffee because I could see it would take another 10 mins. Can’t just get a regular cup of drip here.
Nice local coffee company. Cant beat the flavor. Customer service is typically Pacific city...iffy
Great coffee in a beautiful setting. One of the few places with nitro cold brew.
Always a great place, staff is incredible and the coffee tastes delightful! =)
One of my favorite stops at pacific city. Some of the best coffee in town.
Great tea and croissants! Kind staff too!
Slow service, and a crappy modern techy espresso. Barista took 4 tries to make a cappuccino
Best artisanal coffee in the area. Still overpriced but really good.
Orange County roasters now offer Huntington Beachs best latte.
The worst tasting coffee ever, and a lot more expensive than other places. Consider the smaller size in comparison to standard venti or large.
A mocha should not take 15 minutes to appear.
Great coffee
Really good coffee; overpriced for the size you get though
Best coffee in Huntington Beach. Expensive but you get what you pay for.
Really tasty coffee
Great
Inconsistent
The worst expressed ... even for non-Italians! Moreover rude and lazy staff, avoid !!!!
