Having not tried this location for their gelato yet, I decided to drop in. Something that I think is pretty easy to get right is Straciatella and for me this just looks and tastes similar to simple chick fil a ice cream with chocolate sprinkled in. When compared to other gelato locations around here several marks are missed, presentation, social media presence, and point of sales system. Id like to try more flavors to improve my position but for now the main thing I enjoyed here was the people, very kind individuals I experienced here.

They have a great selection of gelato, but sometimes it doesnt look very fresh. Ive been here a handful of times and the service is also inconsistent depending on who you get.Its a nice place to get some cold sweets in the summer months.

I have been to Italy many times and this place serves the real thing. So many other places use a powdered mix; this is fresh! And the flavors are always changing.

DANGER TO PEANUT ALLERGY. The Hazelnut Gelato had peanut mixed in! We spent 5-hours in the Emergency Room because of it. We even asked the clerk to wash her scoop before serving but for whatever reason the Gelato was contaminated. The owner needs to address this. There is a rise in peanut allergies across the country and can be life threatening.

Man, do I love gelato.My friend and I came here on a Wednesday night, and the place was pretty crowded still. I can see why, there are some pretty cool flavors. I got a piccolo-sized (basically the small) gelato and got the oatmeal, cookies and milk, and banana chocolate chip flavor. It was good! Very creamy and I loved the flavors. Oatmeal was a personal favorite, definitely tasted like an oatmeal cookie and they added cinnamon on top which really upped the flavor. Banana chocolate chip was good as well, didnt have that artificial banana-flavored candied taste. Cookies and milk was wonderful. I find that eating cookies and cream ice cream can sometimes taste gross because the cream part of the oreo is so artificially manufactured, but Mangiamo got it down right.Price wise, it was alright, but a little expensive for the size ($3.50). If you saw the size, you would understand what Im talking about. Also, you dont get one of those rewards cards unless you got a larger size. Kind of sad about this since I basically live for rewards cards. Service was a little hectic, they only had two people working and lots of customers. There was also no comprehendable form of a line, it just felt like people would walk up to the gelato, try samples, and the workers would help whoever was ready to order. BUT, unlimited samples, so thats a plus. When I finally got my gelato, it took the workers a while to ring me up to pay. By this time, part of my gelato had melted quite a bit, which made me sad.So, gelato quality and flavors are wonderful, but since this place is a little out of my way, I wouldnt really come back unless it was convenient.

One of my favorite stops on main street, made fresh daily the gelato and sorbetto here is AWESOME, my favorites are root beer float, ALL of the cherry flavors for the gelato and the kiwi red bull for the sorbet ...ok and chocolate too😊

Mangiamo Gelato serves some of the very best gelato, in a continuously rotating variety of genuine flavors that I have experienced over my long life. So, I was surprised while reading a few reviewers neutral to slightly negative comments.Some of these reviewers actually have either never been to Italy to taste the real thing, or/and they expect real gelato to taste like ice cream. It is not supposed to! Most of todays commercial ice cream is made with corn syrup, which is way more sweet than sugar (and fattening). Mangiamo gelato uses sugar, along with the natural ingredients that flavor has been named after. It IS the real thing - and the best gelato in SoCal!

The gealto was exxelent! So many flavors as well as the basics. The staff was not the most friendly and there was not a system of order/line. Overall great gealto and worth the 3 min walk from the peir.

Walked by this place a few nights ago, there was a large husky dog on the seats inside for at least 5 minutes that i saw, before the dog owner finished, and they got up. i will never ever eat there again. ever.
