Possibly my favorite breakfast restaurant. The food is incredible, the atmosphere great, and the owner is very kind. The French toast is the best I’ve had (and I do pride myself on my FT). I loved the flavors and you can tell each recipe was thoughtfully made. I’m looking forward to returning every time I’m in the area. Highly recommend!!

Fantastic first experience, atmosphere is super unique and inviting with their steampunk theme. Owner couldnt be nicer and really seems to care about your experience there, I ordered a double espresso out of curiosity and wasnt really feeling it, he made me a new drink on the house. I really cant say enough good things about their eggs Benedict... honestly phenomenal. Will be back for sure.

Really nice eclectic steam punk vibe. Menu is small as its a small café, but the selections are delicious and the portions are plenty. Overall, I would definitely be back to try another menu item. 😋

Ok this one is long overdue. The owners name is Richard and hes a bona fide legit nice guy. He designed and decorated his, in my opinion, Sherlock Holmes-esque space taking personal touch to the next level, complete with twice hand-sprayed light fixtures he did himself to not 1 but 2 intricate sets of interlocking and actual working gears on the walls. Very cosmopolitan...but enough about the unique decor. Food is awesome and the coffee even awesomer. From different takes on eggs Benedict and salmon and lox on ciabatta bread to delicious fritattas to simple eggs, bacon, and toast; Ive tried them all and theyre tasty and satisfying. As for the cup of Joe, I always get the namesake Café Caldo latte and it never disappoints. One last thing: aside from the great atmosphere, super friendly staff, yummy food, and flawless coffee - there was a day during the pandemic when I was Jonesing for a latte. Rich told me it would be about 10 min cuz he was by himself and had other orders to fill, so I went next door to big lots for a few things. Next thing I know, Im in the checkout line and in pops Rich with my latte! He said it was done early and didnt want me to have cold coffee so this righteous dude left his store just to walk my drink over to me!! I dont have anything else to say except give this little jewel a try cuz you wont find a better local business with this much dedication and heart ingrained into everything they do. Period.

Caffe Caldo has one of the best Turkish lattes Ive had in ages. I also had the eggs Benedict on ciabata and it was out of this world

Best eggs Benedict Ive ever had! They sprinkle a mixture of brown sugar, salt, and pepper on the ham, but I ask them to sprinkle it over the entire dish, including on the eggs and potatoes too. Also their French Toast is great. It comes with a side of mascarpone and syrup for a perfect finishing touch. Their coffee is great. Also they have two kinds of stools to sit on. Watch out, the bicycle stools are the most uncomfortable thing Ive ever sat on.

So good!! My boyfriend has the best french toast of his life, and I had the best salmon eggs Benedict that ever has had the fortune to exist. They do not skimp out on salmon, and the bread its served on is like a gentle garlic bread. The flat white was also really yummy! The side house potatoes were crispy and seasoned. The waitress (blonde, had a messy bun, didnt catch her name) was chill, attentive, super friendly, and food service was prompt. I would highly recommend this place.

Looks like a hole in the wall place from the outside, but the decor, service, and food was fantastic. Staff was very friendly and attentive, smoked salmon and eggs benedict were great, and the atmosphere was very cool.

Delicious food, cozy, with a mellow, laid back, eclectic vibe. California vegetable frittata was incredibly flavorful, yet light, and the zebra latte was everything you want in a chocolate latte. Worth the wait!

Came down to Huntington Beach for a couple of days and found this awesome spot! If you like Eggs Benedict, this is the place for you. Unlike a traditional Benedict that uses either Bernaise or Hollondaise, they use a cheese sauce that is very similar. I had a dirty chai and the rest of my party had lattes. I love the ambiance of the caffe and the friendliness of the staff. I will definitely come back again!

The service was great here. Seated right away. The servers and barista are very friendly.I ate the Ciabatta Benedict. They put cheese in the hollandaise sauce and it is delicious! Eggs were cooked perfectly. The chai latte was very good as well.

Came here for breakfast with my father and we were absolutely blown away. Ordered a Black Irish Latte and it was delicious. Perfectly creamy. Not too sweet or bitter. And it even had latte art!But then I got my Eggs Benedict with salmon. Holy hell, it was perfect. And I dont mean really, really good, I mean compete perfection.. The eggs were perfectly cooked, the sauce tasted amazing, and the potatoes, my God the potatoes. The texture was unparrleled. Not so crispy that it was hard to bite into, but not so raw that it was mushy. And seasoned perfectly.I can not recommend this place enough 5 out of 5 without a smidge of hesitation.

Such a cute little cafe tucked in a shopping strip mall! We popped in late Saturday morning for a coffee and pastry. I really wanted a toasty almond croissant in the mucky gloomy weather we were having.We walked in and sat at the coffee bar. The service is really friendly and prompt. They offered to warm up/toast my almond croissant...yum! It was gooey and full of flavor. It has a nice toasty crunch to it, which is exactly what makes me fall in love with this treat. I also ordered the Turkish Latte - which is essentially a latte with cardamom and honey - it will knock your socks off. I ordered a large and somehow downed that bad boy in a matter of minutes. Really really good!They do have a pretty nice breakfast menu, which I want to pop back in for and they are going to be offering gelato very soon! Stay posted...Ill be back for more!!

I read the reviews and saw that they said the service was slow... guess what good things take time to make. If your in a hurry go to McDonalds and have cheap crappy poison food.. this place is amazingly great. I want to give it more stars...and the small place makes it cozy. I love it

There are no words to describe the absolutely amazing and delectable breakfast I enjoyed at Caffe Caldo. I had the Italian Medley Frittata, not something I would order off any menu as I am not a fan of sausage. But I decided to try it since every one gave it 5 out of 5 stars. And they werent wrong. I let both of my girlfriends try a bite and they both said they should have ordered that instead. The only downside to this place is the size of it, very tiny. Make sure you get there right when they open or youll be waiting a while. However, its definitely worth the wait! Ive already recommended this place to my mother, brother in law, sister, and my landlord. I cant wait to go back!

Visited Huntington Beach for a 3 day weekend trip and came here 2 out of 3 days. The food, service, and espresso are all amazing! I highly recommend the smoked salmon and french toast. The smoke salmon plate is a generous size and the french toast is like no other french toast Ive ever tasted.The staff is really nice and friendly and after being there for 10 minutes I felt like a regular. I cant recommend this place enough.

The waitress brought us water the very first time she visited the table! I cant remember the last time that happened! I really appreciated it. I ordered a side of eggs and toast but that was PLENTY to feed my appetite. The eggs were cheesy and the perfect texture. No dry or runny eggs here. The toast was also well done but not burned. My peppermint mocha was also delicious and not overly hot or sweet. Plus they draw hearts or flowers in the foam. The decor here is really interesting too!I LOVE this place!*advice for management: there is a table that seats 4 in the back. With the fan going theres a strobe effect. I would recommend turning off that one lightbulb just in case anyone has epilepsy and is sensitive to the strobe effect.

Nothing special. 2 stars for the decent coffee. The server was extremely friendly and attentive, refilling coffees and frequently asking how everyone was doing as people waited and waited and waited for their food. Very tiny place with Extremely slow kitchen. The kitchen doesnt seem to be able to handle the number of guests. No toast or jam selection, only sour dough and strawberry jelly. Bacon very poor quality. Food didnt taste bad, just very uneventful and limited menu. I probably didnt order properly. If you want something different for breakfast fare, check their menu, this might be your place. Cute antique decor.

This place had amazing food, such a unique atmosphere, and friendly staff. The steam engine above the coffee bar is so cool. I love places where the owners put their heart and soul in their place, and it was awesome to have the owner take our order, chat with us, and tell us about how he built the steam engine himself out of wood! Best food I have had here. Nothing but rave reviews from my entire family. I had the Italian frittata and it was packed with flavor. The smell of it hit me on the way in and I knew I had to eat it. The combination of fresh herbs and vegetables make it like walking into an Italian garden. I also tried the French toast which was decadent and kept fresh with a lemon creme that worked beautifully with the warm spices and vanilla. To top off my great experience they had the most amazing latte topped with a nice foam leaf. I could not recommend this place more. If you want an amazing breakfast come to cafe Caldo.

This is one of the best places in Huntington Beach for coffee. Ive lived here for 30 years so I know the area very well. I have a passion for coffee and ambiance of my homes away from home, and Caldo is great. Great people. Great barista. Great owner. Ive been there a handful of times when Im down that way and have meet random friendly people every time. I personally go to a coffee shop for an experience and good coffee. Caldo has both. They close at 1 I think on weekdays which is a bummer since I have coffee meetings sometimes later but thats is small coffee shop business!

This is one of my favorite places in Orange County. A mix of Italian style coffee shop with some pretty amazing food options (Their chef is from Sicily).Espresso. Coffee. Sicilian pastries.They close early afternoon. Large parties and weekends can prove a challenge so temper your expectations, especially on weekends when they are slammed.

Everyone seemed to be ordering there ciabatta salmon Benedict so i tried it and and it was really good. I usually prefer hash browns but The breakfast potatoes were excellent and they have coffee and espresso drinks.

Let me start w it was my anniversary and I yelped and chose this place knowing my wife would love several items and figured Id find something. What we found was a GEM. Make no mistake this is not high menu item offering, but what they do offer is excellent and friendly service from the get go. Loved the Caldo House combo, french toast w lemon marsicipone and real maple syrup that has tones of honey..served on side, so you get savory bites..the potatoes wow..all was excellent. Great coffee house too. Wife loved her ham wrapped asparagus eggs Benedict.

This is my local spot! Caffe Caldo has it all if youre looking for a local cafe that will draw you into becoming a regular. The Italian cafe atmosphere, signature lattes (I recommend the Turkish latte and Zebra latte) and breakfast dishes leave no stone unturned.

This was our second visit. We waited quite a bit for the food. The coffee was decent however everything else was just not right. The acclaimed toast was black and bitter, the over easy eggs were running and the poached eggs was overdone. First time the food was just ok but reading previous reviews we thought that the next time will be better. I think we need to find another place for breakfast.Have to say waitresses were really nice.

We tried the Italian frittata and the cibata Benedict along with a regular coffee and the Turkish latte. Everything tasted fresh and quality. The only downside is that space here is pretty tight. Location is a little too far for me to come often, and they close very early, 2:00 pm, but I wouldnt mind stopping by again if I was ever in the area again.

I kind of dont want to review this place in the fear it will become too popular and I wont be able to get a seat, but the breakfast was so good, unfortunately for me, it seems inevitable. It is cozy to the point where I could not help overhearing one of my fellow customers expose their lack of reading comprehension as to if it was potatoes, toast OR fruit, or potatoes, toast AND fruit (it is the former, lady...), but a great experience nonetheless.

Love, love, love Caffe Caldo, expect them to be slow, bring your best friend and enjoy. The food is fantastic and the coffee is even better. Definitely not for large groups.

My wife and I stopped by for breakfast and coffee because of the pictures online. She got the Asparagus vovo and I got the Salmon Benedict. Both were absolutely amazing!!! The hollandaise sauce was perfect on each and all the flavors melded together perfectly on each plate. Were looking into moving to Huntington Beach in the next year or so and now proximity to Caffe Caldo is going to be a factor when deciding on where :)

The owner cares about every detail and the new chef (sicilian!) is just as passionate about the food. And the staff still manages to be low key and personable. Cant wait for a dinner menu!

Cute place with a very limited and overpriced menu. With tip, for two, we spent $45 for salmon on a ciabatta and asparagus wrapped in deli ham with 2 poached eggs and hollandaise sauce. The roasted.potatoes were overseasoned with rosemary. You couldnt taste the potato. The portions were modest. Wont be going back.
