My friend and I visited this place yesterday for the first time. I ordered the Gyro sandwich with steak fries and my friend order the chicken fried chicken, yams, and Mac and cheese. The food was exceptional. Im not sure who wrote down Madeas recipes, but theyve definitely mastered it. Our waitress was Awesome!!! Thank you so much. We will definitely be back.

Fast and friendly service. We got our food ten minutes, maybe even less than that. They offer a patio and inside option. It was a great day when we went, so we decided to sit in the patio section. Our waitress was extremely friendly and attentive to our needs. We went around 11-11:30 in the morning and was at by noonish. The food was enjoyable; however the side of hash brown lacked flavor and crunchiness. That’s my only complaint other than that …I’d go again :)

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!!!I made an order for me and my co-worker via UberEats and the experience was not pleasant at all. I ordered a Waffle Breakfast Platter and Cheese Grits. My co-worker ordered the Salmon Platter. To start off, their presentation and portions is not on point and it certainly is not worth the price they ask for. My cheese grits tasted horrible, they did not have flavor. The cheddar cheese was not properly stirred in the grits and it taste like soggy undercooked rice. The scrambled eggs had a funny smell to it and did not taste good at all. My waffle was soggy and they overloaded it with blueberries which was not great at all. My co-worker salmon was way to over seasoned and her sides were not flavorful at all. The only thing that tasted good was my apple juice and my co-workers Sprite. At this point, all I want is a refund for my entire order and nothing else since UberEats finds my experience not good enough to be reimbursed.

Good dependable food, but the only inspiration seems to show up in the Greek dishes. They have comfort food and fast food favorites. The neighborhood loves this place. Breakfast is served all day.

This is a cute neighborhood diner. The food is similar what you would expect to get at a Dennys or IHOP. Have both breakfast and lunch options. The waitress was super nice and friendly. The food did take a while to come out (close to 20 minutes) but sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful weather and each others company so were in no rush.

Its always been family owned and operated... The Patriarch Mama Baklava retired. Mamas son has taken over the realm. The quality of food is incredible. Its extremely clean in the kitchen and everywhere. They are very welcoming to everyone. They have exceptional food, but their chicken fried chicken is the bomb. The macaroni and cheese, the green beans, the chicken fried chicken, the chicken fried steak, and everything else actually tastes like Grandma made it. Consistency and quality are there. Theyre open late, until midnight. I hope they stay open 24 hours now or a little later. He deserves to be extremely successful with the incredible product hes putting out. Kudos to you! Let me tell you all the things I love ab MG. First off you walk in and it says seat yourself. I love this bc I want to decide where I sit! Next they have a full bar, open 24 hrs, food comes fast, and best of all its affordable! Whats not to love?

We came for lunch based on the Google rating and we were suprised as the food was pretty much below average / average. The prices are cheap. Maybe their other dishes are better. I had the waffle breakfast and it was pretty sad. Would recommend the midtown sampler - it was the best thing we had there; although I would still say it was about average. The service was slow but the waitress was very well mannered and nice.

Disappointed in management for not having full view of parking lot with cameras. Someone hit my car while I was eating inside and the meal was ok but the dent and scratches on my car weren’t and when I told the parking lot attendant he acted like he saw it when it happened but didn’t stop it or get the license plate and even said the manager LNEW the woman who scratched our car. Not a note was left for us all the manager said was to call the police and file a report. Will not be returning.

The owner is very sweet! Always genuine and treated me well. I enjoyed the Lamb Shank!!! I will be back!!!

My favorite. But lately Ive gotten to bad meals.. extra salty chicken parmesan ( which the last two times before was bomb) with a crust to get angry with and a chicken fried steak which really was a chicken fried meat patty; Ive never heard of that before and it kind of mad me angry, but other than that they have a great menu. Please try there breakfast. The pancakes are ridiculously good.

This is one of my favorite neighborhood spots. I used to do Uber Eats and Door Dash and picked up from this place a few times. The food always smelled good and the staff was easy to work with so I decided to become a customer.Great food at a good price point! Midtown Bar and Grill has a nice patio where you can people/people with doggos watch. Inside they have a Tv where sports is played, so if you want to catch a game youn can. Theres one guy in particular there who is friendly and on top of his service. Hes appreciated. The rest of the staff has always been great too.They are open until 12am.

Chicken fried chicken, Mac and cheese and seasoned fries... was good. Service was fast. The paintings by local artist hanging on the walls that can be purchased was a neat idea.

Breakfast cheap and fast. Good location. Super basic though. Denny’s and ihop got a better breakfast to be honest… it’s a cool location and it’s fast. That’s about it.

The food was good for the most part, nothing spectacular but not bad. And it was pretty cheap. All day breakfast is nice. The service was good. Atmosphere is dingy. Not the cleanest of appearances but it wasnt dirty, just aesthetic.

This is without a doubt my favorite place to go. Absolutely a second family of mine and a staple in the midtown area. Great food. Great atmosphere. TVs with the sports games and news. Small intimate local finer. Variety of offerings, good taste, and very reasonably priced. Place, tables, and menus could all use a good cleaning.

Finally was able to attend our singing group indoors in the private dining room. Everyone was fully vaccinated as I am. We had drinks and snacks brought to us. These were both alcoholic and nonalcoholic, all done well.I had dinner before the group and listened to another music group rehearse in a smaller area. When not eating, Midtown uses distancing and masks which I applaud.The restaurant has an outdoor patio but that night we had very heavy rain threatening and naturally it hit just when I needed to leave. It was worth getting damp.The food is typical diner food plus some nice Greek food, seafood, pasta and pizza. Theres a wide choice of sandwiches which includes gyros, and quite good burgers. Vegetarian diners have a decent set of options including a range of vegetable options for anyone. A veggie plate has four choices plus above average rolls and cornbread.This visit I had the meal I allow myself once or twice a year: liver and onions. Midtown never disappoints me with this. Neither do the Greek dishes. I especially recommend the sweet potato fries as a side.Best of all, you can always go if the impulse strikes you because they are open 25/7. Breakfast is served anytime of day or night but checkout the early bird specials.

This place is now out go-to spot for breakfast and lunch and the weekends! the staff is super friendly,the have a great selection of tasty comfort food and we are always able to get a table! Prices are great too! They also have a fulll bar and great mimosas!

I love eating breakfast here. They serve breakfast all day. They are open till Midnight ( was open 24 hours before Covid). They have a full bar and happy hour. They do serve lunch and dinner. Also there is a covered patio.

We went to this place based on their google rating and I was very surprised because food is terrible. Service is very slow. Waitress did not check on us for refills. Waiting over 5 minutes for her to bring me sauce for my food. I order the shrimp poboy. It was burnt and tasted like frozen precooked shrimp. We then waited a very long time to get the check to leave. The table felt sticky and bathroom had weird smell. I would not recommend this place at all.

Very disappointed with this place. Did not provide syrup for the dry pancakes. Not enough utensils when we told them the amount. The grits are horrible and nasty. Cheap quality for the food.

Stopped by for breakfast. Mimosas were the absolute best ever. Enjoyed the early bird special breakfast, cooked to my specifications. Everyone in our party of three enjoyed this first time visit.

Ordered from here using Uber eats just this morning. For one, the food was very good, as it has been any other time I’ve ordered or diner in, but they really did something to make me happy today.Today is my husbands 47th birthday and he’s not feeling well at all but I like to surprise him with lunch or brunch on special occasions. I put a simple request “husband is not feeling well. please write happy birthday Jj if possible” on the piece of cake I ordered. I didn’t expect it would be possible on a to go order.I was wrong. They wrote on the to go container “happy birthday Jj. Hope you have a great dayl and feel better soon!” It may seem very minor but it meant something to me today.

Fantastic food--their gyros are incredible and their Baklava is the best in Houston. The Midtown Bar & Grill is more thank just an iconic Greek restaurant--it is a Houston landmark--it goes back to everything that is great and exciting about the diner in Americana--it has events and live music and ownership that is hospitable and classy. I have a lot of love for the Midtown Bar & Grill-- good times! Good times!

The place is a dump, but the Gyro sandwich is one of the best in town. Fresh block of feta cheese and delicious seasoned greek yogurt make it a winning recipe. Just dont mind the ambiance.

I was here to pickup items for a customer. The lady just walked pass me over and over. She didnt even ask me if I needed anything or who I was there to pickup for. I was standing there for at least 20 minutes. This is not the 1st time that this has happened at this place. I will not be picking up here anymore.

I am a regular because this is my elderly mothers place to eat because the food is good, inexpensive and its rarely crowded or noisy. We eat here 2-3 times a week. I would give five stars but one of the TVs is usually on a channel that I find repulsive, but its like watching a train wreck - I cant look away.

I ordered a burrito and home fries from door dash and the midtown bar and grill made it. They are avsolutely terrible! Super small burrito i paid 14$ for!! Its literally the size of a flat hot dog. They forgot my avacodo and cheese. When i called to tell them, the worker said we dont sell avocado or pepperjack cheese............ Why is it on the menu???? Also i ordered home fries for my breakfast a recieved the most bland french fries Ive ever tasted. So not only are they false advertizing and overcharging, but their food is not good at all. Do not go here!

Been coming here for several years, but lately the food has not been up to par. Today, the French fries were terrible! Tasted like they had been in freezer for months and picked up the smells of other foods. In addition, not cooked. Hash browns were not cooked as well.The only reason I even give them a 3 star rating is that they are friendly.Plenty of onsite parking.

Good Greek Omelette and Chicken Wrap. This place is more old school diner, at least during the day. Looks like they have a variety of entertainment/activities including open mic night and painting classes. Casial, friendly and laid back with a nice patio.

Really upset at the quality of the pizza, the taste and quality wasn’t really tasteful nor there. Felt like it was made out of store bought dough and ragú. Also ordered the chicken fried steak and that wasn’t as appetizing either. The gravy tasted so much like flour and it was so flavorless. Seems like the portions have been diminished as well. The only food we ordered and was tasteful was a side of fries with ranch and that wasnt even the correct size I wanted or was asking for. Service wasn’t that great the lady didn’t really have knowledge I asked several times about a side menu and I kept being pointed to the option that you had to choose 4 sides when I only wanted something small and personal and repeatedly asked for a personal portion which went first from $2 to then to $6 and not what I continuously asked for. Definitely doesn’t seem like the place nor quality it use to be.

Waiter took a sweet minute to get us a menu, and ended up waiting 30+ minutes for my food.They brought out water (unfiltered) and coffee when I sat down. I assumed the coffee was complementary since we didnt ask for it but instead, they made me pay for it.The chicken fried steak with the sides of corn and mashed potatoes were an expensive TV dinner. I dont recommend this place unless you got all the time in the world and dont mind paying for low quality food.

The food is good, but the service is terrible. I placed an online to-go order and was completely ignored the whole time I was there. I had to call the restaurant, while I was inside the building to get someones attention. I was appalled by the table to-go orders were sitting. The food was not supervised, anyone could simply walk in and take any order they want, or worst, contaminate someone elses order.

The presentation of the food was very good. It just lack flavor and seasonings. If they would have got that right. I would have gave them a five star review

This place is unbelievable! It was very crowded first night we went there, on Friday night. Weve been back at least 5 *. The food is beyond delicious! Everything we ordered from breakfast to steak has been the best. They have excellent club sandwich, BLTs, chicken fried steak, Country Chicken Salad, ribeyes, mushroom swiss burgers and cheeseburgers! Everything that we have ordered has been very very fresh with no salt or very little. Fried foods are not greasy at all but fresh tender and crisp. Their house Italian dressing is awesome and their salads are also very fresh and crisp. We visit there late night and the wait staff is excellent as well. We will be looking for Tommy again soon. He not only recognizes us when we return; he knows what we drink! Coke & water. He offers this the daily specials and he knows the menu - a vast menu which weve only began to explore. They have something for everyone even if youre on a renal diet! That is a huge Plus for myself. They also had and Outdoors patio which we enjoy! Open 24 hours with breakfast all day!

Opem 24 hrs. I am from Atlanta and the menu remind me of Waffle House. They basically have everything. The also have a bar so thats a huge plus after going out. They have patio seating as well. I recommend trying this place out late night.
