As a masters student, I am on the hunt for good coffee shops to study. EQ Heights gets 5 stars because they have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. This includes a variety of indoor seating: tables with chairs, loungers, sofas, etc. And outdoor seating includes a variety as well, with both covered and uncovered options. I sat at the bench on the outside deck and it was quite a vibe.Wifi worked well for me. I went on a weekday in early afternoon and it was busy but not crowded.EQ Heights also makes a really nice spot to enjoy lunch or have a social hour with friends. I ordered a hot sandwich and iced tea, and I thoroughly enjoyed both items.

Excellent coffee shop. Cozy, plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, staff were friendly, drinks were good. Rooms inside make it feel more private. Most tables had plugs and wifi was free. Music was at an appropriate volume to be enjoyable but easily blocked out entirely with headphones. They get a lot of things right - go support this place. 5/5

I am always looking for the best coffee shop to study, read, meet up with friends, ect. I HAVE FOUND IT AT EQ!I come here embarrassingly often - I am here right now! This place is amazing. Its comfy, chill and feels like a home away from home. The cold brew or iced coconut black tea are my go-tos for drinks... AND THE FOOD!! I highly recommend the chicken salad sandwich, the turkey club or the HUGE hummus plate. Everything ive ever ordered has surpassed expectations.Definitely recommend giving this place a try - you wont be dissappointed!

Lovely little spot in the Heights. Very friendly staff, good snacks, plenty of outside seating and parking. Can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Dog-friendly too, which is a plus for dog owners and dog lovers. Good place to work or stop by on your weekend morning stroll. They also use bamboo straws for iced drinks which is interesting - better for the environment than plastic and works better than paper or cardboard!

We needed some caffeine and we were in the area so we dropped in and scored a five star frozen blended drink for my wife, I tasted it and concurred, my hot cappucino was just as good. Lots of cool art work on the walls, this coffee spot has a nice vibe. The barista was talented and friendly, well be back.

Im a local and this is a place where the young successful and hard working business owners and families come from all around the heights area. With a slightly higher price that your typical Starbucks youll find the drinks and snacks here to have a strong and unique taste with enough variety thats sure to satisfy any tastebuds.Parking is difficult. Wait in the lot for a few minutes until someone leaves.

I would give EQ Heights 6 stars by far if I could! I have been going here for the past few years, and I can unquestionably say that this is THE best coffee shop in Houston. It has a very cozy atmosphere and its outdoor seating is super nice to sit in while watching Heights Blvd. or getting some work done. If you get too hot or cold, you can always go inside where you are bound to find some nook to sit in. The actual food and drink options they offer are very wide, and you can always find something you want in your price range. They offer good food that is actually affordable, especially compared to other coffee shops in the Montrose or Heights area. Of course the coffee is very nice too. I mostly get the tea though, and boy is is their tea amazing! I can tell they carefully selected their options, and I can tell by the wide range of teas they offer, which are all enjoyable, that tea was not just a second thought to them. They made a genuine effort to make a good tea selection, and I appreciate that. The tea also comes in a large pot for only $5. You also have the option of keeping the tea leaves they used to resteep another pot. It literally does not get any better than that. Like most coffee shops, there is art on the wall and I do not know if they specifically screen each work but they are all very nice. On a final note, the baristas and servers feel like actual people. You can talk to them and make real conversation with them while feeling that they care, not like they are just trying to sell you something extra. I honestly think this is my favorite part about this place, and along with the numerous other parts about EQ Heights make me always end up going here. It is THE place to go for a date, a hangout with friends, to do work, or to have a nice place to just sit and relax.

Enjoyed our visit here. Had an iced latte and a Peppermint Leaves herbal tea. The staffers all were friendly and the atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. We sat on the front porch, which was comfortable and offered a really nice view of the neighborhood. The interior also seemed inviting and relxing. Great place to relax with tea or coffee. The baked food items looked appetizing, too. Also, like that it is dog-friendly--we dont have a dog, but it was fun to look at the dogs people brought up to the porch. We came on a Saturday afternoon, and parking was hard to find at first. After initially not seeing a space and circling around the builiding several times, I parked in to-go parking and bought beverages to go, but luckily on my way back to my car a different space opened up, so we were able to stay for a while.

Saw this place when we were restoring power in the heights during the ice storm. My girlfriend and I love trying new and local coffee spots so I figured itd be a great place to take her as the reviews were quite good. Parking was a bit cramped but expected in this part of town. Once inside the staff seemed a bit on edge, maybe stressed. Still no excuse for the way we were TOLD to move the line to the other side in a raised voice with a rude tone. To top it off halfway through the line (which was slow) we were unceremoniously told that there would be no espresso drinks available. Id like to think this was a one off situation, as for me, theres way better spots in town with kinder staff

Quaint little spot with both indoor and outdoor seating. This place fits well in the middle of the Heights with food options, coffee and beer. Lots of people were studying/working inside and enjoying the Sunday morning outside. It was busy and a I waited in a quick line before I could order a dirty chai latte. They informed me that they had 2 types of chais and I went with the concentrate with almond milk. They have a dog cookie jar right by the door which my dog appreciated too. **Dogs are allowed on the patio but not inside. Oh and the chai was really nice.

Awesome neighborhood spot for coffee drinks, sweets and limited but scrumptious food menu. Tiny rooms in this craftsman era cottage can get crowded especially when theres live music by Wylde Meade or other popular acts, but its a lovely, lively crowd. Share a tiny table with a stranger and youre sure to get an interesting conversation. Tiny complaint: wish they had some water without (too much) lemon.

I came here with my girlfriend on Saturday afternoon after reading some of the reviews and overall it was a terrible dining experience. I’m not sure how hard it is to make eggs and avocado sandwich but somehow with their incredible expertise they managed to mess that up. There was not even salt or pepper, no utensils or napkins, and the coffee tasted like instant coffee. Hospital food tastes better than this. For $20-$25 for such small portions and poor service, I’d highly reccomend you go elsewhere. The one positive thing was the atmosphere and WiFi; there were many people working there but most hadn’t even ordered anything which now I know why. 1/5.

The man who answered was so friendly and let me know there is parking behind the building which helped a lot.Once I got there the staff was great. They were very polite and knowledgeable even offering samples of different teas when I was trying to decide.I went back in to buy a couple of waters. The barista told I could get filtered water for free. I politely told him I tried it and didn’t like the taste so he gave me the second water at no charge. The seating and atmosphere is very casual and inviting. This is one of my favorite places and I really appreciate that the staff are trying to stay healthy while also protecting their patrons. BUT I think the staff need to also consider proper ways to use PPE. I had one staff member open my bottle of Topo Chico with their gloves hand placed all the way to the top where I will be drinking. And then he proceeded to use the same gloves hand to place the lid on my coffee. I believe the use of gloves actually makes it worse and it’s better NOT to use them so you can feel your hands if they are dirty. I even saw one of the staff cleaning the tables with his gloves on and wasn’t sure if he took those off when he went back inside. I would be happier if they didn’t wear the gloves and just washed their hands!!
