Mail ordered C&Cs dark chocolate collection to Maryland for a Christmas gift. Arrived 2-3 days prior (perfect timing, IMO). The packaging was gorgeous (I didnt wrap them, just set them under the tree), the chocolate were stunning and sinfully luscious with amazing flavors.Only problem was there was one pair (there were two of each flavor) of chocolates missing, just the forlorn little tray places, wondering why theyd been forgotten. I contacted C&C and they quickly sent me a small *tray* of new chocolates to make up for it. *dies*.Given the crazy that is COVID and re-doing of entire business models over Xmas, Im inclined to forgive this, especially with how easily, quickly and generously the oversight was corrected.

One of my favorite places for chocolate in Houston. Its not just chocolate... its an experience. They serve as a hub for imported chocolates from over 24 other countries as well as former Miss Pakistan Annie Pupanis very own artisanal chocolates. The chocolates are not too sugary, I loved the dulce de leche and chipotle ones so far, and the chocolates are beautiful too.

We went here to get some goodies for Mother’s Day. We love their chocolate and always get their cafe latte and chai latte. Today we had such a great service. We asked the woman working if she had been there long and she said she had only started a couple weeks ago. We were very impressed with her on her knowledge of the chocolate and her customer service.

I arrived here last night with a group of about 24 other people and had a very informative learning experience about how they start from a cacao seed to the end product and how they are finished. After tasting fee many different pieces of chocolate their contents I have a new profound respect for chocolates now. This chocolatier is amazing.It has a fabulous decorative selection of bonbons, truffles, and gelato.The chocolates are so fancy they actually look like ornaments. Almost too pretty to eat.Of course you can build a box of chocolates.They have some quirky items as well, like chocolate lipstick and chocolate heels.They also carry gelato by SweetCup Gelato & Sorbet, a local business in Houston.Tried the Cardamom Rose.OMG!It was so good, I was confused.My taste buds had never been to this new realm of gastronomy.Customer service was good. I was looking for a gift for my wife for easter. They had intricate dark chocolate eggs (hollow with small chocolate/mint beads inside). Three of these and a small dark chocolate bunny were a winner.

I just got my chocolate in the mail today. Package was beautiful. I lived in France for 6 years so I have high standards for chocolate. Id say this is the best chocolate in America, but not as good as what Ive tasted in France.Actually, this caramel is outstanding. It is mango flavored and doesnt stick to your teeth since t is so delicate. The pineapple fennel is out of this world.I had high hopes for the cardamom rose because I had rose water chocolate in. France. I was disappointed. I couldnt taste the rose water. But it was good.Will be ordering again.

I thought their artisan chocolates would be a great surprise for my Valentine. Knowing her tastes, I ordered the Spice Infusion Collection. The product arrived on time though it wasnt the Spiced Infusion Collection chocolate. Instead, she received chocolates like: Balsalmic PB&J - which is not a spice, Dulche De Leche - again not a spice, Chipotle, Lavender and other non-spice chocolates.I wrote to the company expressing my disappointment and a week later, they still have not responded.For customer service - they lost a star because they never replied to my email, meaning they never apologized for sending the wrong order and they never tried to make it right.For value - they lost a star because they didnt provide what they offered and what I ordered.For presentation - they keep a star. The delivery/arrival and the presentation was very good and commendable, even though it is the wrong order.For quality control - they lost a star for not checking their orders for accuracy.For taste - they keep a star. Even though it was the wrong order, the chocolate has some quality.Extremely poor customer service. There are many other artisan chocolate companies. Search around and you will find better customer service and exquisite chocolate. You wont find it with this company.

Amazing Treats!

These chocolate bon-bons rank among the best I have ever eaten, not just here in Houston but other countries as well. The quality of the chocolate itself is superb, but the genius with which Ms. Rupani combines the flavors in the fillings may be unparalleled.I would implore anyone put off by the idea of these spices in their chocoaltes to set aside your concerns and try them. While I love spicy food I tend to steer away from spicy desserts, and had passed up this chocolatier for years. But recently my wife received a wonderful gift of an 80-piece box, and I am now a convert. I love Szechuan cuisine, but no way did I want a strawberry Szechuan bon-bon, I used to think. But now its a favorite, and thats just one example.

Its such a nice spot. I stop by for a cup of coffee and can barely stay away from all the first class chocolates and baked goods. Five stars for sure!

UPDATE: 5/27/21So, C&C did upgrade my shipping to overnight. The package didnt go out until the following Monday, but arrived Tuesday. Thats great customer service. It wouldve been better if someone had let me know.The chocolate is fantastic. C&C has a unique style and sense of flavor that makes it a good choice for folks who really dig chocolate. This is different from some high end chocolatiers whose chocolates are excellent but not... brave. I gotta say, I didnt *LOVE* every one of this assortment, but every one was interesting. Many were fantastic. Definitely a worthy investment because the quality was there and the uniqueness was thought provoking. For example, the coconut curry was my least favorite. My taste buds werent ready for that. None of these were unpleasant, they were all good, but coconut curry I will only order again to give to someone for their reaction. The almond gianduja seemed like a great idea, but the almond flavor was too subtle. I dont know how that could be fixed without resorting to artificial flavors or a less flavorful chocolate. I missed the blueberry in the lemon blueberry. I wouldve liked a strong rose flavor in the rose chocolate, though others might not. Yet, if someone offered me any of these, Id gladly enjoy them.The remaining chocolate (around 35 flavors) was really outstanding. I like the cardamom. A lot. All of the pieces were beautiful. Most flavors were clearly discernable and well blended. The passion fruit was one of the best Ive had, but the fruit flavors generally were well presented. The spices were not overdone, were unique, and woke up my palate between more traditional flavors. I loved all of them (except the curry, which was still good). Toasted coconut truffle is all star delicious. Bacon maple had a sultry smokiness that was just indulgent. Its tough to pick a favorite, really. Some pieces were fun (balsamic PB&J, speculoo) and others more serious (that curry, again). Some were exotic (five spice) and others perfect renditions of the traditional. C&C is a worthwhile Texas option for fine chocolate. More, I think this has been the most interesting assortment Ive had in a long time. Beautiful, delicious, diverting. Ill totally order, again. *END update*This is my first order as Ive been using Norman Love for years. I was excited to hear that there was a chocolate in Texas that some thought was on that level. I ordered an 80 piece box of chocolate for my anniversary. Order placed 4/25 with shipping date 4/28, upgraded shipping to be sure it would arrive on time. Received confirmation. I didnt get a shipping notice on 4/28 so sent an email 4/29. No response. Received shipping notice 4/30. FedEx says label was just created 5/1. Projected delivery is now 5/5. My order shipped late so instead of getting it within 4 days, it will now be 4 days late. Still no contact from C and C.Ill update when I actually get the chocolate, but given that they shipped it after the last day shipping was available, according to their website, C and C had to know they were creating significant extra transit time for a perishable product. This is a bad first experience so far, especially because nobody reached out to tell me what was happening after I asked. A good experience wouldve been upgrading the shipping another level to ensure it arrived on time and not potentially melted, even if nobody reached out directly, but even a quick response to my email wouldve given me more time to make a new plan. I make this suggestion because I hope it helps yall. I want to buy Texas, but once Im spending more than $200 to get chocolate shipped within South Texas, I need to know itll get here on time, which is why I paid a little more than standard delivery. This week the weather is cool, but weve already hit 96 degrees in San Antonio. This being Texas, only the Lord knows what the weather will be like over the next 4-5 days, lol. However, Im hoping Ill be able to repurpose the chocolate for Mothers Day and add some stars after having my mind blown by how great it is.

I learned of Annie Rupani and Cacao and Cardamon on PBS and was excited to support the owner and try the chocolates. Due to the warm summer months, 2day shipping, and minimal packaging the chocolates arrived melted. After extensive correspondence with the owner I received a full refund including S&H. I recommend that Cacao and Cardomon take a page out of other chocolatiers play book and ship their product in thermal wrapping, place the product in a cooler with several ice packs and only offer overnight shipping especially during the summer months. Based on other great reviews I suspect this company should do well. I wish them the best of luck going forward.Anne

Fair to good chocolate at a very high price with poor customer service. They left some items out of an expensive order. There is plenty of competition were happy to explore next time.

The chocolates were so beautiful and tasted delicious! There were also some vegan options. Staff was very friendly and helpful with suggesting which chocolates to try. It was well worth the money spent. I definitely will be back!

Reading some of the reviews on here, I would think that these folks have never dealt with other human beings. I went on December 22 to buy chocolates for my parents for Christmas, as I wanted them to be as fresh as possible while still a surprise and within my availability to get to the store. I was sad that they didnt have the tiered, 12-piece boxes that I saw on the website, and that I couldnt build a custom box; that said, I understand the business of the season, and I understand the difficulty of keeping up with demand when you hand-make your items.So, I did what any sane person would do: I bought something else, specifically, the 9-piece box. After giving the boxes to my folks for Christmas, I can confirm that they were blown away—not only by the beautiful design of each piece, but by the flavors, some expected, some totally unforseen, all manner of spices dancing on the palate. This is luxury chocolate at its finest, and you cant go wrong with a box as a gift for a statement piece. Ill be back for the tiered set one of these days!

Bought chocolates for friend who lives in America, she never received them.You have provided incorrect information. After the first failed attempt, I was not contacted. I had to email your company to be informed of the failed attempt. I provided a contact number, which could have been used but wasnt (I do understand it was a UK number, however I wouldnt have provided it if it couldnt be used). Then I obtained my friends girlfriends number and provided it to your company. I informed her off the delivery. She did not receive a call. Second delivery failed.Then I was told the cost of the chocolates will now be changed to a delivery charge. Its understandable that I would not receive the delivery cost refund, however the change in charges after purchasing the chocolates was not expected and illegal. You cannot change the stipulation of a contact once it has been agreed upon.

Terrible customer service the last few times I have been there. The chocolates (and gelato) are beautiful and delicious- but the bad taste comes from the service. Two staff members working but only one actually working with the clients. Service is very slow. Staff were unwelcoming and the back of the store is extremely disorganized with boxes. I don’t like giving bad reviews, especially during COVID, but I’m hoping the owner sees this and makes a change.

Oooooeeemmmmgeeeee what a pleasant surprise!!! This gem blew me away!!! The chocolatiers know each ingredient!!! The assortment is a museum of yumminess!!! Definitely will put a smile on the face of your significant other. The flavors are creative and definitely prepared by professionals!! The decor and vibe is inviting yet intimate and romantic!

This is my second time going there. The first time I thought it was just me, I got the chocolate box for $12 and it looks exotic but the taste was not worth it. The second time, I thought I would give it a try again and same results, looks pretty but not worth it. I also got the latte and was not worth it.The owner served us the second time and she had an attitude especially when I asked her if she was the owner. I will not be back for a third time after the attitude and the expensive chocolates that’s not worth the high prices.

Service was just ok, as everyone seems busy doing other things. First time there and did not get much help. Felt insulted when forced to give a minimum 10% tip. Will not be going back. Not recommended. Wished I went somewhere else.

The shop is lovely, the chocolates are beautiful and delicious. However, Im not sure if they dont like to run the AC but it was very warm inside. There was also very loud banging the whole time I was there because they were preparing the chocolate right there in the front instead of the back. Someone even walked in and said sounds like Im walking into a butcher shop with all this noise. Anyway, I drank and ate most of what I ordered but I was unable to finish all the chocolates so I asked if I could get one of the little disposable plastic boxes. She asked how many pieces I had left and since it was two, she says because of the pricepoint I can only give you a plastic bag...ummm okkk fine. Now, because this place was so uncomfortably warm, the chocolate was very soft and got all smeared as I put it in this tiny bag. So I left feeling ehhhh about this place.

Fantastic selection of artistic and tasty chocolates! If they make it at all, they have it ready and waiting for you at this location. You can even order a nice cuppa and relax in a cozy cafe area. Friendly and helpful service too. If you love chocolate I highly recommend Cacao & Cardamom!

Im so thankful that I stumbled upon Cacao & Cardamom during my very first visit to Houston in 2017. I also had the pleasure of meeting and chatting with Annie while shopping. I was so warmly welcomed and assisted that I felt like an old friend. The chocolates are so beautifully crafted; the unique flavors combined are definitely mouthwatering. The only thing I was disappointed in was the fact that I didnt buy more chocolate while I was there.

I loved this place, it felt so unique and original for Houston. The owner is such a sweet person and she really knows her stuff. The chocolates I tried were very very good and I loved how there were so many flavor combinations you might not think of. I bought a pack of 5 chocolates and a small gelato. I didnt taste the macadamia or cardamom rose chocolates, but I heard the macadamia is really good and the cardamom rose chocolate has a light hint of cardamom that doesnt overpower the flavor of the chocolate nor the rose. My personal favorite was the dulce de leche, it was absolutely divine. The mango caramel was a bit too sweet for me, and the PBJ wasnt too great, it was ok. The gelato flavors I chose were toffee caramel and dark chocolate. They were FABULOUS. I also tried the cardamom rose flavor, and it was really really good. Will definitely be back.

Best gifts, beautiful and tasty chocolates. Ive had other fancy chocolates from Napa and France and smaller places in between, but none have been as exciting visually and in taste compared to Cacao.

This place is amazing! The chocolate there is literally a work of art! We had the oregano and chocolate piece and it was the wildest thing I have every came across. You can definitely taste the oregano but it wasn’t overpowering. If you are looking for something cheap, this isn’t the place for you but if you are looking for craftsmanship and artistry than definitely give this place a try! Will be coming back to try the drinking chocolate

This place is incredible! They have the most beautiful treats here. Like little edible works of art. The different flavors are interesting and delicious. The staff is always super friendly, too. Had a great experience here! I didnt catch the name of the lady behind the counter, but she was very nice and helpful. Store is super clean and quite a cozy little place. They also have coffee and a few tables and chairs, and Id like to come back to try their hot chocolate. The only chocolate Ive tried thus far was the mango, and it was amazing. Will report back if the gift box I got wasnt a resounding success, but I rather think it will be.

Unique and decadent chocolates! Love the colorful and tempting display, the aroma and the chocolates! Weve liked all the chocolates we tried so far. Ask the servers to point out the dark, milk, and white chocolate ones if you need help deciding. They also sell gelato, guava is really good. Minor issue, a couple of the servers are really pushy, and that made the visit a little less enjoyable.

Warm and friendly atmosphere, the staff were very pleasant and accommodating. The chocolate selection was amazing and they had some very interesting specialty chocolate (chocolate lipstick and edible chocolate purses and stilettos!) They also have delicious Gelato. I had the Dark Chocolate and Toffee, very tasty.

The best chocolate Ive ever had in my life, hands down. Really creative flavour combinations if youre willing to step outside common ingredients and try them out. The coffee also happens to be very decent.

I love the chocolates here, and the service has been great.However, I will suggest something geared at the website in general: If I want to shop online and pickup in the store, you first need to add an item to your cart, and go to shipping method and select in store pickup. After doing this process four times, I realized maybe nothing from their online store is available in their physical store. Somewhat of a frustrating, but I live nearby so it isnt a big deal.

Very nice presentation. But I was not impressed with the taste. I got turtles and I have never known turtles to have a dark chocolate taste. Sorry...but not for my taste buds.

Bought a gift for friends. Annie was very helpful and accommodating. My friends are world-class foodies, like went on vacation to France to have cooking classes foodies. C&C is one of their favorite chocolatiers *anywhere*.

The location was extremely clean and well kept. I walked in not really knowing what to expect and was taken back. The chocolates are like little pieces of art both to the eye and the palate. I tried 5 pieces and look forward to going back. They definitely have my business. It makes perfect gifts for those hard to buy for. You can also buy a bottle of wine to go.Cheers!

One of the best chocolate experiences you will ever have. MUST TRY if you are visiting Houston. They make for the perfect gifts as well, especially with the holidays coming up. If the presentation doesnt blow you away the creative blend of flavors and spices will surely get your sense tingling.

I am not a huge fan of chocolate, but I am a huge fan of Cacao & Cardamom. Their unique flavors keep me coming back. I am constantly buying gifts for friends and family here. They present well and taste amazing!

Visited the store earlier this week and I wanted to get a little something for myself and family. Unfortunately, I have eaten all the chocolates (by myself) and will need to go back to actually share with others. I got a mix of flavors (12 count box) and I really love how you can actually taste the flavors and you dont need to eat more than one or two at a time. They are truly meant to be savored. Definitely will be back!

Hi are you thinking about going to cocoa and cardamom thats a great place to go the staff is extremely nice and the place is beautiful to walk into but its super expensive super expensive do you know chocolate is great I dont know if Im going to spend $12 on on a piece of chocolate thats no bigger than a mini Reeses Peanut Butter Cup even though its good some of the best chocolate Ive ever had but......

Their dark taco is really great and I use a lot of exotic spices which you wouldnt think would taste good but do!

So embarrassed!!! I ordered the Louboutin shoe and didnt exam it when I picked it up. My mistake. When my friend opened it at the party, it was a black shoe with a red sole, no studs!!!! What a complete disappointment. Will never get anything here again.

I received a box of chocolates from Cacao & Cardamom as a gift. The chocolates were nearly too beautiful to eat! Each piece had a very distinct punch to it both visually and taste-wise. Phenomenal, cultural, and unique flavors--a chocolatiers dream! It is too bad I am far from the actual store. I would love to visit it someday.
